No, don't think an iPhone 5 will work - you need at least an iPhone 5s, 6 or 6+.

Yes, Apple does have local carriers in Argentina. Claro, Movistar, and Personal are all supported carriers.
See this list: Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone - Apple Support
None of them currently support LTE on the iPhone.

  • My iPhone 5 suddenly could not hop onto LTE anymore, after updating to IOS 6.1

My iPhone 5 suddenly could not hop onto LTE anymore, after updating to IOS 6.1. I know there is LTE coverage at my house, since before I updated it, it could hop on to LTE just fine, in the same location. My Carrier is CSL Hong Kong. Does anyone have this problem? If so, does anyone have a answer to it?

    Hi AEEA-Family,
I also did the update this morning and had the same problem also on Vodacom. The whole morning after the update I have No Signal, turning the phone on and of gives you signal for a couple of minutes then it drops again to no signal.
I've just made the following changes on my Phone and all seems ok again.
Here are the steps I took to resolve it on my phone.
    1. Go to "Settings" > "Carrier" > Turn off "Automatic", wait for list of Carriers and select "Vodacom-SA"
    2. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Cellular" > Turn off "Enable LTE"
    3. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Cellular" > "Cellular Data Networks". Then Change EVERY APN from lte.vodacom.za to internet
After I made all those changes I did a hard restart of the phone and now all seems fine.
I suspect the update this morning Enabled all Vodacom's LTE settings, yet Vodacom is not 100% LTE yet in our areas and this is causing the problem.
    Hope this helps other people.

  • My iPhone 5 loses signal on the Vodacom LTE network. Is it the network or my phone playing up ?

My iPhone 5 loses signal on the Vodacom LTE network. Is it the network or my phone playing up ?

When I put in Airplane mode and back it seems to fix the problem. But this is very annoying and not what I would expect from the NEW iphone 5.   I have read a lot about this issue but NO SOLUTION

  • Verizon has mostly only 4G LTE smartphones. The iPhone 5 is rumored to have 4g LTE

Will the iPhone 5 be only avaiable with 4G LTE or i will that be optional?

The iPhone 4S is also available for either GSM or CDMA networks - so it's not only the iPhone 4 where you have options.
But anyway, what happened with previous models means nothing as far as any future model is concerned.

Since you have unlocked GSM iPhone 5S, you will get all GSM services on any network including LTE.
Provided LTE band is supported and the Carrier is non-US.

  • Why my LTE conection its no so good with my iPhone 6 4G is better with out LTE

I Have an iPhone 6 with T MOBILE but my LTE conection is not good it take so long to use internet
4G its faster than LTE why i can do to use LTE ?! An dont have any problems?!

If the Verizon representative who assisted me would have been honest and referred me to Apple rather than pushing a new phone sale on me, I would not have any issue with the way the problem was handled.  But they told me, word for word, "Unfortunately, since the iPhone battery is located within the phone, it can not be replaced.  You are going to need a new phone."  That was not an honest statement.  It was a greedy lie told by a sales person wanting his $20(?) commission at the cost of my unnecessary $200 phone purchase and contract renewal.  I spoke with Verizon and they reimbursed me the $35 I spent on my replacement battery that should have been free (because my phone WAS included in the battery replacement program - I looked into that before getting mad), and apologized for their representatives' dishonesty and reported the individuals who misled me.  It is not a crazy thing to go back to the store where you bought a faulty product to inquire about repair.  If they do not do repairs, it is their responsibility to lead customers in the right direction, rather than try to rip them off.

  • Que operador es mi iphone 4 Modelo MD128,

I want know that carrier is the iphone 4 model number: MD128.
I want see the carrier on the phone it says "no available"
NECESITO AYUDA URGENTE, NECESITO SABER QUE OPERADOR ES MI IPHONE CON EL MODEL NUMBER: MD128

Doesnt it say the carrier name in the top left of the screen next to the signal strength bars? The carrier name should be in settings about six items down.  If it says not available there you might tap on the > near there and go to the next screen where under the heading Carrier the is a switch for Automatically selecting the carrier.  Just turn the switch to off and it will then search for available carriers and a list will appear there .  Your carrier will be one of those.  Before you leave this page turn the Automatic switch back on

  • Issue with iPhone 5 (AT&T) when reconnecting to LTE.

I recieved my iPhone 5 (on AT&T) a few days ago and have noted an issue with the LTE connection when you try to reconnect after loosing my signal.
In the morning, for example, I will have a good LTE connection, then I go to work where the cell signal is fairly spotty, at best, in the building. I will notice my signal switch to Edge (not even 3G...but Edge, of all things). Then when I leave work the phone won't reconnect to LTE, even after toggling the LTE and cellular data on and off. It just sits on Edge and won't even load my email. I have to restart my phone to get a connection again.
Has anyone else had this problem? I hope it's just a software issue that can be fixed with a future (hopefully a near future) update.
(And don't go using the "AT&T is horrible" argument. I have a good number of friends would would say the same of Verizon. It's a weak argument...like playing the "race card" in a debate.)

After talking to an Apple rep, I first tried reset teh network settings, but that didn't have any effect. Then I went and completely reset the phone to factory spec and restored the phone...which seems to have done the trick. Now I'm getting and holding a strong 4G connection in the stockroom that previously completely killed my signal.

  • My iphone 5 has a bad signal reception LTE turned off any suggestions

I purchased my Iphone 5 last November 2012 by Cosmote Greek network provider.
I am using an iphone 3GS as well and I can compare the strength of the signal reception all time.
Usually the 3GS has 3 signal bars more than the Iphone 5 which many times goes with no signal. The LTE is turned off as well any suggestions?
    Thanks

I'd just like to say that ahs70's post on Dec 1, 2013 at 1:17am on Pg. 9 worked for me as well: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5338609?start=120&tstart=0
If your iPhone's battery is acting up you need to determine if it's a software issue or a hardware/battery issue.  To do that, after syncing your iPhone, erase/hard reset all data and settings from your iPhone to what it was from the factory as new.  This can be found in Settings/General/Reset/Erase All Content and Settings.  Then test it out for a day or two.  If it's still acting up then it's likely a hardware issue and you will need to get your battery replaced.  If your warranty is done than check out this link to get a battery kit to replace your iPhone battery yourself:  http://www.ifixit.com/Store/iPhone/iPhone-5-Replacement-Battery/IF118-001#produc tDescription
If your iPhone is now working properly after hard resetting it than it's most likely a software issue.  This battery issue only started after upgrading to the new iOs7, so it is obviously related to the update not properly installing itself.  What has worked for me and many others is to manually update to iOS 7.0.4 using the full downloaded version of the update which is about 1.32 Gigs.
But first you need to find out what model of iPhone you have, click here to determine if it's GSM or CDMA: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Then go here and scroll down to download the iOS 7.0.4 complete update for your device:  http://www.downloadios7.org/download-ios-7-0-4-ipsw-file.html
Then scroll up on the download page and follow the instructions of updating your iPhone manually following the instructions below:  "IPSW with iTunes"
    And your done.
    Problem solved.
I only posted this because it was a very frustrating problem that no one really seemed to figure out a solution for.
    I hope this helps.

  • Which models of iphone 5c and 6 will work with lte in both Israel and russia

I'D like to know which models iphones 5c and 6 will work correctly in both countries Russia and Israel?

The models that will work with brazilian LTE networks are:
    A1507 and A1529 (iPhone 5c)
    A1457 and A1530 (iPhone 5s)

Have you personally tried those models with Brazilian LTE networks? Do they work? If so, fine.  If not, then besides that, there is the problem of the warranty which is not international. The user will have to return the phone back to the country of purchase for both warranty and out of warranty service. So what might seem cheaper at first glance might not be in the end.
Anyways, it your money and the OP's should he want to go ahead with your recommendation.

  • IPhone 6 won't receive calls on LTE when asleep

I just purchased an AT&T iPhone 6 on December 6th. It will not ring or register a missed call when the screen is sleeping. Only when I start to use it will a voicemail notification show up (if one was left). If I turn LTE off in cellular settings, the phone receives calls normally. The problem occurs when LTE is set to either Voice & Data or Data Only. Reception on both 4G and LTE is 3 to 4 bars. I have followed the steps in iPhone: Troubleshooting issues making or receiving calls - Apple Support without improvement. Restarting the phone or enabling/disabling airplane mode seems to allow it to receive calls for about a minute afterwards.

Already did that as well, and they claim everything's fine on their end. I imagine if it were AT&T's issue it would affect more people. Guess it's time to take the phone back to Apple.
