Mi ipod isnt responding when i connect it to my personal computer
well i am really worry for my ipod, cuz im from venezuela and a friend of mine broght me from usa, so i was using my ipod very well until i decided to update my ipod, look what happened, i have no files music, no pictures , and i have only 550 megas available without anything inside my ipod!! something really amazing but its true, and also neither my pc nor my ipod are recognizing my ipod , that is why im really worry!! wow the update of my ipod it lasted like 30 minutes and my ipod was showing this message "do not disconnect", i am thinking that you have never try to update your ipod, that is my advice for you, just take that advice, well my friend will travel to us to see if they change me my ipod or if they can repair my ipod, but if you can help me online in this page or email me to [email protected], i will be thankful, thanx for your time, bye.

When i plug my ipod to my comp, i tunes is nor opening by itself, even if i open i tunes by myself the ipod icon is not appearing on my display, that is why im very worry, but my my ipod's battery is charging when i plug to my pc, i don t want to repair my ipod here in venezuela cuz i want that my ipod get back to us with my friend to repair the us technics, cuz I trust more in their experience, this country is a pice of sh** do you know what i mean?, bye mas and thank for your help buddy! First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?
As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.Hi maddogdne,

It seems like your iPod touch is not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, but your iPhone 6 is working normally.
I recommend starting with these steps to troubleshoot your iPod touch and connection with your Mac:
Check your USB connections
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Restart your device
Restart your iOS device or reset your iPod.
Restart your Mac
Turn your Mac off and back on.
Update your software
Check for software updates on your Mac.
Check for an iTunes update.
Check your security software
If you have security software installed, learn how to resolve issues between iTunes and your security software.

My iPod touch screen says it is disabled. Connect to iTunes. When I connect the device to the computer a window pops up and said that the iPod is locked and I need to enter the passcode on the iPod..... I can't get it to do anything. Any ideas?
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

When I connect my nano to my computer I receive the following message: There is a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it.
In addition, when I connect my nano, my computer does recognize but the library and playlists in my Itunes is not the same as the library/playlists on my ipod (on this ipod). Just bought new iPod touch. When I connect to computer to sync it tells me "iTunes could not connect to this iPod touch. Could not send a message to device." Not sure if it is b/c of an older version of iTunes but connecting via wifi sync unacceptable
What version of iTunes is on the computer? You need at least 11.4.

Do you mean evil your device is not recognised in iTunes for Windows? If so,
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

Do you have restrictions enabled on your iPad? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and see if you have it turned on. If so - see if you have installing apps turned off. If you do, turn restrictions off on your iPad and that may do it for you.
