MI IPOD "LITERALLY" FROZE...IS THIS BAD...

MY ROOM IS COLD BECAUSE ITS IN THE BACK OF MY HOUSE AND AT NIGHT MY IPOD FELL OF MY BED AND ONTO THE FLOOR AND WHEN I WOKE UP TO LISTEN TO IT IT WAS JUST A BROKE BATTERY ON IT AND IT WAS REALLY COLD SO I WARMED IT UP AND CHARGED IT AND IT WAS OK BUT WILL THIS MAKE PROBLEMS FOR ME IN THE LONG RUN??? AND SHOULD I SEND IT BACK...AND CAN I SEND IT BACK IF I GOT IT ENGRAVED???

Ok, to help y'all to know what to do if your ipod froze, figuratively speaking, I went to support section of apple.com. I followed the steps,
1. make sure the hold button is off
2. press and hold both menu and center buttons for at least 20 seconds. If that did not work....do it again till you see the apple logo. The problem is that I had only did the steps twice. What I didn't know is that you have to keep trying and be patient about it.
Seriously, if y'all can't solve the problem, call the 800 number. If they can't help you out, then they will transfer you to a tech. support. Matthew, the tech guy that I spoke with, explained to me that I had to do it a few times to get through it. He even said that when your ipod froze (Do not disconnect on the screen), it means that something had shooked up or jiggled somewhere in the ipod.
I hope this will help y'all out in the future. Remember one thing, be patient when you call Apple. If you are rude, chances are, you won't get your problem solved. But if you are patient, they will help you out. Just make sure you thank them at the end

This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Follow the steps listed above for Error 1604. Also, discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. If the issue remains, Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
Ignore the reset and when it says plae the iPod in Recovery mode
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs:

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod G5 froze, can anyone help with a fix?

My iPod G5 froze today with the screen and backlight still on. When I try to reset it (pressing menu and play), it does nothing, but the buttons still click like they should. Any suggestions?

Hey there,
Have you tried hooking the iPod up to your computer? If you can do that, it may be a good idea to restore the iPod, but only if you have everything on your iPod backed up somewhere safely because restoring it will return the iPod to its original default settings. If that doesn't work, you could always just let the battery die and then you should be able to hook it up to your computer. Hope this helps. Also, make sure you have tried all of Apple's 5 Rs which can be found below.

try putting it into DFU mode...
hold down the home and power buttons for 10 seconds
let go of power button, the screen should go black in 5seconds
plug ipod in... do restore

Here is what you should do turn the device on hold the home button and the power button until the device turn off keep holding and when the device reboots release the power button but hol the home button until it shows the iTunes logo then restore it

Well the answer I gave you didn't solve the problem. Is the USB cable and the iTunes logo still on the iPod screen? You could start the "fixing process" by rebooting your computer, connect the iPod again, launch iTunes and see if anything happens.

My ipod touch froze & after i reset it, it still won't turn on

my ipod touch froze so i held down the lock and home button to restart it. it did this but when the apple logo shows up as if its going to awaken,
it immediately turns off again. i tried holding down the home & lock button the whole time and it still immediately shuts off of flashes a white screen and the screen goes blank again. the ipod doesnt even do anything when i plug it into the computer or itunes so i can restore it. ive repeated processes to reset it conuntless times but it hasnt effected it at all.
i've tried basically everything to try and revive it, but so far nothing has worked.
anybody have any other tips or options that will help me make it work again?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
