tengo una mac Air en red corporativo, cuando imprime en una copiado que esta en red me bloquea a los demas usuarios con windows, se tiene de apagar el equipo para que puedan imprimir.
Este mismo equipo tiene una impresora independiente conectada inalambricamente, pero no imprime seguido cuando quiere imprimir tiene que apagar la impresora y prenderla de nuevo, es la unica forma que puede volver a imprimir.

Try deleting the cache associated wi the App Store.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Try the App Store.

Can't use MAC Filter and have Blinking Red Link Light on WRE54G

I just added a WRE54G V3 extender to my WRT54G V8, I have download the most recent firmware on both products. My network in using WPA and after fixing all the typo associated with setting all that up I still could not establish wireless connectivity. I am/was using MAC Filters on the WRT54G and had added and triple checked the WRE54Gs Mac address,, but until I disabled the Mac Filter I could not connect to the network. I would like to get that issue resolved. Secondly even with the MAC Filter disabled the Link Light blinks red at a regular interval. It does appear that I have connectivity, but the light just blinks away. If this is normal I could not find any reference is the written materal. Thanks for any advice you might have.

Sorry to appear toltake so long to get back to this, but I did post a message in reply somewhere ????, but it doesnt appear here??? and then I got tied up on some personal stuff.
Anyway, I followed all the advice I could find on this thread (thanks to everyone who has posted to any question on this thread) and after starting completely over reseting everything and basically configuring the RE with everything else turned off and then powering up everything starting with the router, I got everything up and running using WAP and all.
The only issue left is when I enable MAC filtering on the router to allow only the MAC addresses in the list access to the network the RE goes belly up. Disable Mac filtering and it comes right back up. I have triple checked the Mac address I entered on the list. The only reference to the RE's MAC address is on the sticker on the back. I can't find that verified anywhere in the configuration screens on the RE.
If I could get his working I could count my security as good as it gets and go on about my business.

G4 Power Mac occassional get's blinking red power light at startup - Help!

I have a Mirror Drive G4 Dual 867, 1 Gig of RAM, running the most up to date version of 10.3.9. Ever since I moved back in January, when I start up my computer sometimes it fails to start up at all (no video signal is sent to the monitors) and the power light blinks red 4 times in 2 seconds, stays normal for a bit, then blinks again 4 times (rinse, wash, repeat). Also, I believe when the problem first started, there was a loud, monotone alert-ish sound/tone from the tower's speaker (if it still happens now, I don't know since I have separate speakers plugged in and they're usually off at startup).
If I hold down the power button and force shutdown the computer that way and restart, the computer is usually fine. However, sometimes the OS (10.3) hangs and takes forever to load the top menu bar and then my desktop icons (this lag is not always after the above incident, it can happen even when the computer starts up smoothly). What's weird is this startup issue used to happen frequently but has quieted down in the last month and half. It still happens from time to time though.
I've been running 10.2 for years before 10.3, so I should have all the superdrive and firmware updates (usually software update catches that stuff, right?) I checked the video card to make sure it hadn't dislodged or anything, and it seems firmly in its connectors. FYI, 10.3 was running on this computer long before the startup issue happened. Is this a motherboard issue? A firmware issue? Other?
Also, on a different note, but maybe related, ever since I upgraded to 10.3 my external Altec Lansing minijack speakers function oddly (if I go back to 10.2 they're fine). What happens is that they start up all blown out and crackly. If, however, after the desktop has loaded I unplug them from the computer output jack and plug them back in, they reset to normal volume. What could be causing that (especially since it seems to be OS related)?

When you moved in January, how long was the Mac not connected to AC power? You could have a weak PRAM memory battery. Have you tried zapping PRAM? See Mac PRAM, NVRAM, CUDA/PMU & Battery Tutorial

J'ai récemment acquis un nouveau MacBook Pro 15". Totalement nouveau, je débute facilement jusque aujourd'hui.
J'ai vu dans les "informations" du disque dur "MACINTOSH HD" plusieurs options permettant de limiter les permissions. Pensant alors pouvoir mieux sécuriser mon MAc, j'ai supprimé les permissions pour "Wheel" et "Everyone". Du coup, quand j'allume mon Mac, il reste bloqué sur la Pomme.
Je ne sais que faire, je n'ai pas encore fait de sauvegarde et j'ai du travail important stocké sur le disque dur.
J'ai déjà essayé plusieurs fois de réparer les permissions via "Utilitaire de disque" en restant appuyé sur ALT au démarrage, mais rien ne fait
J'ai aussi essayé en mode Single User, mais je ne comprends pas grand chose et ca me dit principalement que je n'ai pas les droits pour modifier les permissions. Quelqu'un pourrait-il m'expliquer comment pouvoir réinitialiser celles-ci via Single User ou autre moyen ?

okay, alabamaprincessblue, maybe I can help you. Are you talking about the newest mac pro, or an older model, or are you talking about the MacBook Pro? which is a different bag o' pork rinds altogether. If you have the latest Mac pro, and you have appleCare or you're within the complimentary 90 day support window, give 'em a call and take 'er in. If you have an older model mac Pro (big Aluminum tower) then maybe it's the video card, or maybe the display calibration is off. Go to system preferences, then Displays, then options and re-calibrate your display, which hopefully fixes the problem. If you have a Macbook Pro, I can't help you here, you'd have to post on the Mac Book Pro forum. the only reason I mention the Mac book Pro is that some people get the two confused and post a mac book pro question here in the mac Pro forums. If you think you might have a problem with your video card, please go to "About this mac" under the Big Apple at the left top corner of your screen, then more info, then system report, and tell us what kind of video card you have.

My power mac G5 won't boot up but has red flashing light and intense fan noise.

I Have a Power Mac G5 that flashes a red light that I've never seen before. There is nothing on the monitor and the fan noise is incredible.

It's normal for the fans to go full speed if the OS won't load to handle them.
Where is this red light, on the logic board, or front panel?
Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

My Firepod (presonus) not working on windows xp on my mac ?

Hi guys, so here is the deal.
I just baught a 17inch 2.8 mac book pro to help me with music recording.
I am an old pc user and all my programs are for that platform.
So what I did is install windows xp pro (legal version) with the help of boot camp.
Everything went well (driver, internet, wireless, video, everything).
I made a sh** load of test and all the fonctions are working just fine.
The only problem is with my presonus firepod sound card.
I downloaded the latest drivers (version 2.46) on the presonus site and I ran the installation wihtout any problems. I even had a windows auto detect and auto install warning while I was installing the firepod. So there is a recognition of the device by the computer for sure. After I completed the installation (I had a message from the set-up program) I saw the desktop icon appear and a click on the control panel button confirmed me that connection is good.
SO THE PROBLEM IS:
I can't find/see the devide in the audio devide selection menu in the sound control panel. I don't see it in the in, out and recording menu. I just see the reel tech hd device.
Concequence: I can't select the sound card and make it work under window XP for no reason.
Even in cubase, I see that the device is there and install, but when I click on it I have the : no device conected warning.
With my pc that use the same version of windows xp, the system would even select automaticly the presonus sounnd card as primary if it was plugged in the computer at the start up, I neved had to select it manually in the sound control panel, but the icons and all the inputs where there if I wanted.
The light at the front panel usually turn blue when the connection is made but when I am on XP on my mac, all I see is red and no external sound card anywhere even after the proper drivers installation.
can anyone help me ?
The sound card is working just fine when I boot Mac Os leopard or with my laptop pc, so I know that it's not the problem.

Adobe Prelude - Red Rocket Support

Hi everyone,
My company and I are trying to implement Prelude into our workflow. Primarily, we shoot w/ a Red Epic and currently are experimenting w/ batch transcoding camera rolls through Prelude using the Adobe Media Encoder dynamic link.
The question I have is this: can Media Encoder take advantage of our current G5 tower's Red Rocket card to speed up the transcoding process, and if so, how do I select it (i.e., if available, where in Prelude/Media Encoder's interface can I find this feature?)

..but no true answer has been given regarding this specific workflow.
I know Red Rocket acceleration is possible in Premiere (and that the Red Rocket card can work w/ only one program at a time)--but what about batch transcoding R3D's in Prelude through Media Encoder. I'd prefer to not use RED-CINE X as we're interested in using all of the XMP metadata features in Prelude.
For reference, the machine I'm running is the following:
MAC OS X Version 10.9.4
Processor: 2X2.26 Ghz Quad--Core Xeon
Memory: 32 GB 1066 Mhz DDR3
Mac Pro Era Early 2009
Red Rocket Card (firmware 1.1.17.3)
Adobe Creative Suite CC 2014
If anyone could advice, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can use the Red Rocket to speed up encoding in AME, but it probably won't do you much good in your specific case I'm afraid. Here's how the workflow would go:
1. Select RED files for ingest in Prelude
2. Specify destination location and preset
3. Start the batch
4. Once AME is open, stop the queue that has started automatically
5. Right-click on a job and choose "Source Settings"
6. Enable the Red Rocket
7. Go to step 5 and repeat for each job in the queue
As you can see that would be a lot of work for what may be minimal gain depending on how long it takes to encode the media with the Red Rocket turned off. Where this workflow really excels is when the source in AME is a longer form sequence such as a Prelude rough cut or a Premiere Pro sequence. I could certainly see adding a global option to always enable the Red Rocket for RED sources, but that would be a feature request, which you can submit here: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
I hope this helps even if it isn't exactly what you were probably hoping to here.

Speedtouch USB modem not working on MAC OS X(10.4.6) but fine on windows BC

Hi all, i have speedtouch usb, which is almost the equivalent to speedtouch 330. i went on to http://www.thomson-broadband.co.uk/codepages/content3.asp?c=7&ProductID=471 to obtain the driver for mac os 10.4.
however, even after installing the driver, my modem simply cannot register its connection to the mac book. there is only red blinking light from 1 side of the 2 signals on the modem.
when i shifted over to windows xp home ed via bootcamp 1.4, the modem connected fine ( with 2 green lights from the 2 signals on the modem ) after the driver for windows xp was installed.
is there an additional program that i can install to have speedtouch usb compatible with the mac os?

Installed snow leopard and now all red colors look rusty orange.

All I did was install snow leopard on my mac pro and now all reds will shift to orange on one display and pink on my other. I've been using the exact same setup with just leopard and didn't have this problem so I am assuming it has definitely something to do with snow leopard. Anyone else have this problem? I've calibrated to the best of my abilities but it's still present. I can actually still see reds on say, a thumnail, but as soon as I enlarge the picture it will change color. I've looked on forums and have not found a solution.

Red Eye Malfunction

Help! I was using the red eye function, and a black spot appeared on my daughter's white dress. Initially, I fixed the red eye problem, but in the process didn't notice a black spot (caused by the red eye function) on her dress before clicking apply and save.
I went back to try to remove it by clicking the red eye function again and it removed it, but only temporarily, though when I reopen the pic, the spot is still there. How do I remove this spot? Is there a way of removing this spot even after having saved it?

I agree, I have been having exactly the same problem. Just a dark blob in the eye. It sometime extends beyond the eye, making this function useless. Also, in group shots I can only remove the red eye from one or two eyes, then the function seems to stop working.
I was using iPhoto 4 and this function worked much better in that version.
I saw some tips for advanced use of red eye feature in iPhoto 6 at http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20060504123458727&mode=print. Does anyone know of any hacks or tricks in iPhoto 5? Or another Mac program that easily removes red eye?

My reds in all my adobe programs are orange now and I don't know how to fix it

I have the Adobe Creative Suite 4 for a mac. All of the red tones in my color pallets now are orange tones. This is happening in all of my adobe programs (InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash and Illustrator). I dont know what I changed but I messed up something. I will type in the cmyk values and my co worker will type in the same ones on his computer, and the color looks orange on my screen and red on his screen. Does anyone have a clue what I changed.
