Mial syncs even though fetch is diabled

I have disabled fetch and set the options to manual for each user account still mail tends to syncs each time its opened. what should i do about it?

Don't open your mail icon if you don't want it to look for mail. That is the way it is designed to work. It won't look for anything automatically -- but if you click the Mail icon, it WILL search for all mail not downloaded since the last time you opened the Mail icon.

As I can't upload CD's onto the Macbook Air, how do I keep the existing music on my iphone syn onto my new macbook without deleting all the cds on the iphone??
    Many thanks!

    Hi RaulRod,
Are you pressing the Sync button to transfer music after connecting your iPhone or do you have the option checked to 'Automatically Sync when the iPhone is connected?'
Have you tried manually dragging and dropping music from your library into your phone?

  • My ipod is not syncing, even though both the program and ipod go through the motions of doing so.

My ipod won't sync, even though it and the program seem to go through the motions of doing so.  Since the problem began, I've updated the software and reset the ipod.  Now I'm at a loss.

Check to make sure that the option you want is still set by looking on the Device/Music pane, where you can chhoose either the option highlighted in the picture below, or Sync Entire Music Library.

Ripped a CD to iTunes, it is showing up in "My Music" but when I sync with my 80gb Classic the ripped CD is not syncing even though other changes I made are
Have checked device sync settings and it is entire music library and their is plenty of space on ipod to accommodate - have restarted both itunes and the computer and disconnected and reconnected ipod to no avail.
Running itunes on Window machine under W8.1 and ipod software is 1.12

Thanks planb77. Your instructions worked but I had to do a little more than you stated. I did not realize that transferring files to a new computer was not enough. When the iPod synced I was told I needed to "authorize" my new computer to get my iTunes purchases to sync to the iPod. So after the initial sync, I ejected and disconnected the iPod, went into the iTunes store, set up "home sharing" and then authorized the new computer. When that was done I reconnected the iPod and was able to sync all my books and music. The only thing I couldn't do was rename the iPod as iTunes never asked me to. Is there a way to rename it after it has been set by iTunes as "owner's iPod"?

  • IPod disconnects & stops charging after syncing even though battery is low

I have a 5G 30GB iPod video, both the iPod and iTunes have the latest software updates, I've only had it a month and haven't changed any of the settings.
When I connect iPod to my computer (a laptop, running Windows 2000), iTunes starts up and begins syncing with iPod as normal. However, if there isn't anything new to sync across, iPod will disconnect itself within 20 seconds or so and stop charging, even though the battery is still nearly empty. I don't think its a power to the USB hub problem as some laptops seem to have, as whilst its syncing it recharges fine, and a long sync period will see it fully charged - I just don't do those very often. Surely there must be a way to get it to recharge through the USB cable when its not syncing?
PS - I've tried the Apple support article on switching on the power to the USB hub, but my 'power' tab on the USB settings didn't have a 'keep the power on all the time' button, suggesting its always on anyway?
    Thanks, Chris

  • My Calendar doesn't update with iPhone sync even though it then updates my iPad

My Calendar on my iMac doesn't update when syncing with iPhone (the most updated device on my Calender), even though it then updates after I sync my iPad? By this I mean it updates the system on my iMac because it then passes it onto my iPad. Help PLEASE??????

Might help if you stated which App this was.
In the email iTunes receipt that you receive there is a Report a Problem link with which you can communicate a problem with each purchase to Apple.

  • Podcasts Sync even though setting is off

    iTunes 8, iPhone 3G 2.1
Even though my Sync Podcasts option is unchecked, video podcasts sync to my iPhone anyway. Has anyone else noticed this? It has done it since I got the 3G, my 1st Gen iPhone didn't have the issue. Issue was present prior to iTunes 8 as well.

Beats me. I now explicitly save every episode just after downloading. Some sort of simple switch to keep everything would be nice.

  • Random extended periods of "Syncing" even though no files changed

Recently got access to file sync, and I've got one PSD in my CC sync folder. If I leave the creative cloud app open, occasionally I'll look up and see the syncing indicator on the status icon. When I open the CC app, the file tab shows an extended "Syncing" spinner indicator, even though no files have been changed.

    Hi Bretton,
Next time it occurs could you open the Creative Cloud Files folder and check to see if all of the files have the green check mark showing they have synced successfully?
Are you using sync on multiple computers?
    Thanks,
    -Dave

  • Just moved from a PC to a Macbook Pro and now my Ipod Classic gets stuck on iTunes "syncing" even though I have it set to manual. Please help!

Please help. I recently bought my first Mac (a Macbook Pro 15-in Mid 2012) and my iPod classic will not work properly when I plug it into my computer and open the newest version of iTunes. It played just fine on my old PC with iTunes 10. I have not updated the software on the iPod since I bought it a few years ago and even if I wanted to update it I couldn't becuse once I plug it in it gets stuck saying "syncing with iTunes." Well, I have it manually set so that I can add/delete whenever I want. So I don;t understand why it is giving me  this message and getting stuck. I've looked around the web and tried to install iTunes 10 but because I have the newest version already installed it will not let me replace it with 10.
Does anyone know how this can be resolved?
    Thanks.

Apple doesn't call its portable machines 'notebooks' instead of 'laptops' for nothing - using a MacBook Pro in your lap can cause some burns on your skin, poor ventilation, etc. So use it on a hard flat surface - not your lap, pillows, bedclothes, etc.
As for burning a hole in your screen, you'll have to revisit the Apple Store and see how much they would charge for a new screen. It's likely to be a bit expensive.
And if you've Safari set to re-open tabs when you restart, you can disable this feature -> Safari-Preferences-General.
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Podcasts won't sync even though music will

Hi all, weird issue here that seems to have come about (I think) since upgrade to iOS5:
Everything syncs across to my iPhone 4, except video podcasts. I checked all of the correct boxes are checked and iTunes sometimes even says it is copying them across during the sync. But under "Podcasts" on my iPhone it just says "No Podcasts".
When I select my iPhone under "Devices", then switch to the "Podcasts" screen, the unwatched video podcasts are checked, but greyed out... not sure what that means? Everything else syncs fine, and I'm pretty sure it's come about since the iOS 5 upgrade. I've tried unsubscribing/deleting the podcast and adding it again and re-downloading the video podcasts
Big thanks if anyone can help.

    Does any of this help?

Looks like Apple make it deliberately difficult to do this for copyright reasons. However, other software solutions exist to remedy the problem. I can't vouch for the effectiveness of any particular programme so it would be good to learn if you have some success!

  • Voice Memos older than last Sync date not copying from iPhone to PC after sync, even though "Include voice memos" is checked

I am trying to copy over my voice memos from my iPhone to my PC. I have "Include voice memos" checked under the Music tab.
I had an issue with voice memos being duplicated on my iPhone after a sync (I got two versions of each memo on my phone for some reason), so after deleting the extra copies on my phone I deleted all voice memos from within iTunes and chose the option to move the files to the Recycle Bin. So the Music\iTunes\Itunes Music\Voice Memos folder is empty, and there are no voice memos showing up in iTunes.
But now when I sync, it isn't copying over the older memos that are on my iPhone to my computer. If I record a new voice memo then that memo transfers successfully, but any voice memos with a recording date older than my last sync date do not transfer.
How can I get these older voice memos (with dates older than my last sync date) transferred over from my phone onto my PC?

Does anyone know of a way that I can access the voice memos with dates older than my last sync date...?

  • Itunes cannot sync even though Ipod has enough memory

I have a 4 GB Ipod nano and my entire iTunes music library is 2.63 GB, my iPod can hold 3.63 GB of data. It was syncing like usual (I have it set to sync all music+playlists) then I added a couple songs (about ten) and it suddenly tells me that my library is too big to copy to my ipod and it asks me if I want to make a playlist of selected music to sync.
I've tried syncing all playlists but one and it works fine. I would really prefer to have that one playlist, I don't understand why it gives me this message. It claims what I'm trying to sync is ~5 GB (I don't remember exactly) and as I mentioned my library is only 2.63 GB
    Any help is greatly appreciated

You might have a corrupt Playlist. If it is a regular playlist, create a new one and simply drag and drop everything from the old one to the new playlist. Delete the old one and try the iPod again.

  • New or previously purchased apps won't sync even though they appear to be

When I attempt to sync a newly purchased or old app, the app icon appears on the virtual ipod screen in itunes, but then at the end of syncing and backing up, it disappears from the screen.  I've attempted several times and the same thing happens over and over again.  Please help!  I have the latest IOS 3.1.3  THANKS!

    - Are the apps compatible with the iOS 3.1.3? Most new apps and app update are not compatible with iOS 3.1.3
    - Do you have any Restrictions set that would prevent syncing? Settings>General>Restrictions

  • I got a Nano 7th Gen for Xmas.  It keeps teling me there is nothing in my Library to sync, even though I'm staring at my full library.

Before you ask, Yes I have selected "Sync Music", Yes the music is selected for syncing, Yes I've hit Apply, Yes I've downloaded the newest version of Itunes, and Yes the computer is authorized.  This isn't my first Ipod.
My computer runs Windows 8, and I've also tried running the compatibility test and changing the compatibility to Windows 7 and Windows XP; still have the same problem no matter which mode it runs in.
The Ipod Tab shows up just fine; it just says there's nothing to sync.

The only way to backup non-Tunes purchases to iCloud it to subscribe to iTunes Match.
The message you are getting means that iTunes can't find the actual music files.
    You can:
    - iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads
    - You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
