Mic audio is backwards?

I am at a complete loss. Never had this issue before, but people are telling me all they hear is garbled and backwards speech when I talk. I tried the test call and indeed it does sound backwards. Makes no sense, no one can understand me. I tried other applications and my mic is fine. It's skype. What do I do!??

got same porblem did you fixed it and how?
It's very possible your audio drivers are lacking or a setting is enabled that is more pronounced in Skype.  Try updating your drivers to ensure you are not using outdated or generic Microsoft drivers and that a setting isn't toggled creating the issue.  You may find this link helpful:

  • Can't get mic audio into PP CS5.5

    I'm trying to get PP to record audio from a mic. Everything is registering input including studio audio monitors and the mac's internal audio meters are bouncing, but nothing is registering in PP. Here is the setup:
    Shure SM58 xlr to dbx mic preamp xlr in. dbx xlr out to M-AUDIO Fast Track Pro xlr in.
    Fast Track Pro connected to mac pro via USB (directly, no hub)
    Studio Monitors are run off Fast Track Pro via 1/4 bal. lines.
    Prem. Pro Prefs audio hardware is set to Fast track pro
    Prem Pro audio mixer mic enabled on track two.
    Everything is registering audio except Prem Pro. the meters are dead.
    I was thinking about running unbalanced RCA Red/White audio out from the MA Fast Track Pro to the analog breakout cable inputs on the Mac Pro's internal Black Magic Intensity Pro card and seeing if that would work. Was thinking it had something to do with the Fast Track Pro being connected by USB.
    Final Cut Pro 7 registers the mic audio, but it's been End-of-Lifed, so don't want to use it anymore for any new post.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hey J,
    I was wondering what your solution was? I actually just posted a new discusion on the forum about my issue, here it is.
    "Hello,
    I have been searching for answer for a while and have found none. My Microsoft LifeChat lx-3000 will not work with premiere pro. It does work on the mac, and in Final cut..but final cut is terrible and I would like to record in premier.
    Things I have done:
    1. gone to premier pro>preferences>audio hardwear
         - In this menu I selected the "Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000" as my default device
         - in the Audio mixer I changed "Audio 3" to "Touch" hit the Microphone button and nothing happened, when I switch the input to "built in" premier recognizes the built in mic and allows me to record using this...but that one sound really bad.
    2. I also went to Utilities>Audio Midi Setup
         - here I selected Premeir Pro cs5 and checked the box next to the "Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000" to indicate that Premier would use this device.
         - still does not work, and every time I open the Audio Midi Setup the box next to "microsoft LifeChat LX-3000" is unchecked....not sure why it wont save.
    I am at a lose, if anyone has any suggestions or has dealt with this problem i am all ears...if this has already been covered in another thread, point me in the direction!
    Thanks for your time everyone!!"
    Thanks,
    Willis

  • Will recording mic audio in mp3 codec be supported by FMS in the future

    I am newbb to flash. I am developping a mobile app for video chat using FL3. Then I realized that FL3.x only support mp3 streaming for now. So I turn to the server side and found that FMS3.5.1 doesn't support record or live mic audio in mp3. This causes a quite difficult situation. I am wondring if there's a solution/workaround for this? And mostly importantly, I am wondering if recording mic audio in mp3 is ever going to be supported. If anyone can answer this.

    Hi Bob,
    Regarding "when will flashplayer support mp3 encoding" ...
    Jay's lowdown is 100% correct.  And definitely don't hold your breath waiting  ;-)
    My sense is that internally Adobe fiercely guards against bloat in the size of the Flash Player installers.  Fiercely.
    But now they have AIR too.  And Acrobat.  (Both of which now include Flash Player in their current versions.)
    Personally, I would settle for MP3 encoding in AIR as a first step.  Plus, VP6 and H.264 in AIR.
    My sense is that the hurdle against bloat in the AIR installer size is dramatically lower.  And we definitely need these additional encoding capabilities built-in to some runtime.
    So, whenever you have a chance to lobby Adobe engineers or submit requests to their wishlist, just keep asking.

  • Using external mic (Audio Technica Pro 70) on MacBook Pro (2012)

    Hello, I am fairly new to the MacBook and not sure of many of its features. I need to use an external mic Audio Technica Pro 70 on my MacBook. I read in some forums that I just plug it into the headphone jack and change the settings via system preferences. When I tried to do this by going to Sound>Input I only see an option for the internal mic. Is there something I'm not getting or missing?
    Operating system: OS X Yosemite 10.10
    Thank you for your time.

    Hey AddiXtioN,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
    It sounds like your external mic isn’t recognized when plugged into your MacBook Pro. The article linked below provides troubleshooting tips and details about the process of connecting an external microphone to your Mac.

    AVI is a wrapper... what is inside your wrapper?

  • USB mic/Audio MIDI setup help.

    I'm going crazy and have spent two+ hours today trying to resolve what should be a simple issue, especially since I had it working at one time...
    I'm looking to set up my USB mic in Logic (MXL USB.007, if it matters). First, in going to my System Prefs > Sound, I can see that it is indeed registering sound. Simple.
    So I go to Audio MIDI Setup, as I've seen on the boards. Though the mic automatically shows up as "USB Audio Codec", I'm following the process to create an aggregate device (as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1215). Since after doing this, it's not working, my newbie Logic 101 question is, then, what is the correct setup I'm looking for? My choices are USB Audio Codec In and Out, and Built-In Input, Output and Microphone (I'm assuming I should use USB Audio Codec In and Built-In Output).
    After this I've gone to Logic's Audio Pref's and changed it to the Aggregate Device, but the mic produces no sound and the audio track monitor doesn't move.
    I'm completely frustrated and would be very appreciative of some help. Thanks.

    Okay, after much hair pulling, it had to do with my Bus setting on the track. (sigh) What do I know...I'm a singer-songwriter, not a producer.

  • Loss of Mic Audio during Skype Call

    I currently have a Nexus 6 Android 5.0.1 and at about one minute into a Skype call the other party looses audio from me - I have tried all the normal repairs - remove then reboot and reinstall Skype - remove any conflicting applications, etc. However after noticing similar complaints from Tablets I presume this is a bug in the current version of Skype for Android.
    Anyone have a suggestion?

    Sadly, I've been experiencing this problem for 2 years now. Here's the link to my original post:
    http://community.skype.com/t5/Android-archive/Mic-and-Speakerphone-stop-working-mid-conversation/m-p...
    I have the same issue when calling with Skype using my Android Nexus 4, which has the latest versions of the Android OS (5.0.1) and Skype (5.1.0.58677).
    The only workaround that I've found, and it's not really a solution, is to use the Skype app for Windows (desktop) when possible, and avoid calling from my Android phone.
    Hopefully, the people at Skype can address this issue, since it's been a long-standing issue.

  • Low/muffled mic audio level on receiving end

    Thanks in advance for any help on this iChat issue...
    I've got a friend who's complaining that the audio from my mic is "muffled" and very low on his end. He also says that he only has this problem with my audio and not from other people on his Buddy list. I might also add that any non-microphone related audio is fine on his end (e.g. my Nicecast broadcast--the music is loud and clear).
    On my end, I've tried both the internal mic and my own mic (with the preamps cranked on my MOTU Firewire interface), and both yield the same results.
    FYI... I've checked System Preferences > Sound and made sure that my mic level is hot there, and it peaks at about 0dB. I've also checked iChat's Video menu, and the level is very hot there as well.
    Please advise, and thanks again!

    Hi tizoast,
    Umm, Odd.
    You seem to be saying that iChat has the correct Mic/sound input slected in the drop down in iChat > Preferences > Video section > Drop down.
    You also see to have the setting in Sytem Preferences > Sound > Input tab.
    You say that recording in other apps is ok with this set up and we have looked at the Bit rate of the MIDI device in the post above.
    At this time I can not thimk of anything more to try.
    I will sleep on this and post again if I think of anything.
    Edit: Possibly deleting com.apple.ichat.plist will make iChat reset the readings it is getting from other sources.
    Deleting this and restarting ichat recreates the .plist but you lose any saved Status Message, Font style, Bubble colours and other less visible things like Individual sound alerts.

  • Samson C01U USB mic/audio recording software.

    whats small,free, and reliable audio recording software? on Mac OS X.10.4.5
    On XP I like adobe audition,and cool edit pro2
    Im having hard time getting Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Mic to record on my emac ,on audacity
    http://www.samsontech.com/

    Cubase LE is good, but Garageband, part of the iLife 06 suite is nice. I recorded a vocal trio to backing tracks and mixed it down to CD using only the effects provided in the program.
    Like any software recording system, the more effects you add the more processing power you're using up, but garageband works real well.
    I used the Presonus Firepod as an interface, worked fine. Any interface box will work.
    If you're only doing a single audio input for a podcast, then Quicktime pro is good. It's not free, but for 30+ bucks it's worth the investment.
    I've used a piece of Shareware.... D-SoundPro
    you can google search it. Nice stand alone piece of software, does some amazing things with audio for a shareware product.
    Hope this helps.

  • Anyone successfully recording mic audio and playing it back on ios?

    hey all
    i am having a lot of annoying problems with recording microphone audio and playing it back on the iPhone (same app works flawlessly on desktop and android)
    has any of you successfully done that?
    Saar

    @Varun Bhatia,
    yes i can
    my simple recording test app works great on the desktop and on Android.
    on the other hand, on ios (iPhone 3gs, latest os) i sometimes hear nothing on playback, sometimes just the end of the recording, sometimes the playback is stuttering.
    thanx,

    i am using flash pro cs5.5 overlayed with the AIR 3 sdk.

  • Camera mic audio

    I have some audio that a boneheaded co-worker of mine shot with the camera mic enabled, instead of the lavalier.  Does anybody know of any settings (a preset, perhaps?) in something like Soundtrack Pro or Logic that I can use to fix this?  I'm not having too much luck with the general EQ.   Also,  the bad audio clip is going to used next to a correctly recorded audio clip, so, right now, the difference is extremely noticeable.
    Thanks!

    I finally ended up EQing it as best I could...I wish there was a preset that was something like "an idiot recorded this...so now this program will fix it"...thanks for the help!

  • Mic audio corruption

    I am getting corruption in my vocal audio recordings. These are by way of "popping" or breaking up of the audio.  They are unrelated to plosive popping sounds and seem to be digital artifacts only. I get around it now by re-recording problem audio regions. I use one of two high quality usb microphones with a pop filter when recording. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Any other harware or interfaces connected?
    What else is connected to your computer via USB?
    What kind of mics? (Make/Model)
    If it's a digital problem, it sounds like a clock / sample rate issue where multiple devices are trying to control the sample rate.
    Could also be a bandwidth problem if you are recording to a USB drive on the same bus as the mics.
    Check your sample rate in Logic. Toggle it to another setting and back. You can also try increasing your buffer sizes under the Audio Preferences in Logic.

  • Mic audio problem?

    New to the blackberry, but my daughter owned it previously to me. I did a security wipe, and have started up the phone, as well as run most of the tests in blackberry virtual expert.  As of now, if I try to make a voice call on the phone, the only way the caller can hear me is if I put the phone on speakerphone.  Blackberry Virtual Expert also did not record anything on the mic test, so that test failed, but my voice does go through on speakerphone.  Obviously the mic works, but there must me a setting somewhere I'm missing?  I really don't want to have to use this phone on speakerphone only.

    I called blackberry, & it was still under warranty, fortunately. They sent me most of the phone in the mail minus the faceplate, & requested that I return the malfunctioning part in the box. Then talked me through transferring my info from the old phone to the new one through the computer. All in all, blackberry was very helpful & I am glad to report my unit is working flawlessly. I hope you are able to have the same experience I have had when getting yours fixed.

  • Mic audio capture and playback

    I've been developing in flash for a while now and now I have
    a job developing flash and actionscript 3.0. I have come across a
    project with a simple concept but I have found it difficult to
    implement.
    What I want to do is allow the user to click a button and
    record their voice and then I want them to click another button and
    play it back. I don't need to save or store it and I don't have
    access to a flash media server or any alternative.
    Is this possible to do and if so could someone please point
    me in the right direction.
    Thank you

    Here you go.  I use this script so I know it works.  You need to have at least flash player 10.
    You need 3 buttons.  1 record button - linkage = micRec , 1 play button - linkage = soundPlay  and one stop recording button - linkage = stopRecord
    i keep the stop button off the stage and have it moved onto the stage when the record button is pushed.  Then finally move both the record and the stop recording button off the stage when the stop recording button is pushed.
    micRec.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,recordMic);
    function recordMic(event:MouseEvent){
    micRec.x = -250;
    stopRecord.x = 117;
    const DELAY_LENGTH:int = 4000;
    var mic:Microphone = Microphone.getMicrophone();
    mic.setSilenceLevel(0, DELAY_LENGTH);
    //mic.gain = 80;
    mic.rate = 25;
    mic.addEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, micSampleDataHandler);
    stopRecord.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,SREC);
    var soundBytes:ByteArray = new ByteArray();
    function micSampleDataHandler(event:SampleDataEvent):void
        while(event.data.bytesAvailable)
            var sample:Number = event.data.readFloat();
            soundBytes.writeFloat(sample);
    function SREC(event:MouseEvent):void
    stopRecord.x = -250;
        mic.removeEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, micSampleDataHandler);
        soundBytes.position = 0;
        var sound:Sound = new Sound();
        sound.addEventListener(SampleDataEvent.SAMPLE_DATA, playbackSampleHandler);
    soundPlay.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,SP1);
    function SP1(event:MouseEvent){
    soundBytes.position = 0;
        sound.play();
    function playbackSampleHandler(event:SampleDataEvent):void
        for (var i:int = 0; i < 8192 && soundBytes.bytesAvailable > 0; i++)
            var sample:Number = soundBytes.readFloat();
            event.data.writeFloat(sample);
            event.data.writeFloat(sample);
