Mic live all the time (hear myself in headset speake

I'm sure this seems like a newb question but here goes. I installed my Audigy 2 value in my new computer from my old one ( where it worked flawlessly). Now my mic is li've all the time and I hear myself in the headset speakers. When using Ventrilo or other voice com program ( with PTT being used) this leads to feedback. I'm pretty sure it's a Windows setting where I need to uncheck something but of course I can't find the bloody thing. Anyone bored enough to let me know where I can fix this really annoying problem?

Just open your Audio settings icon (in Control Panel) and go to the Audio tab.
In the first section, under Sound Playback, there will be a "Volume..." button. Click it and it should open a mixer.
There will be a slider for microphone (or possibly line-in depending on where you plug it in at), and all you should have to do is put a check mark in the "Mute" option. This will keep your voice from playing back through your speakers when using your headset.

when bluetooth headset is connected to iphone,I can't hear iphone ringing aloud when I have a call or a text. Do i really have to wear the bluetooth headset all the time in my ear to know when I have a call or a message? Why it doesnt ring through iphone but it rings through the bluetooth headsets?
In other phones, you can hear the phone ringing and if it was connected to bluetooth, you could pick up the call from the bluetooth headset.
Here with iphone, if its connected to bluetooth headset, it only rings through the headset, which means that if you dont have the headset in the ear all the time, you cannot know that you have an incoming call or message.
Any ideas - solutions - comments please?

I'm having the same problem. I had a plantronics 975 (which I lost, sadly). When connected, the ringer would always be routed through the bluetooth and the iPhone's external speaker. When in silent mode, the iPhone would only vibrate, but I could still hear the ringer in the bluetooth.
I just bought a new Plantronics Voyager+. Now when it's connected, all sounds are routed to the earpiece - including the taps, etc. The iPhone's speaker doesn't ring at all, unless the bluetooth is disconnected or powered off. I'd really like to be able to hear both, like I was before. This is an iPhone 3G running iOS 4 (latest version, not sure what it is exactly). Haven't updated software/firmware in between bluetooths, just changed the earpiece.

  • Mic is too sensitive, calls constantly cut out. People tell me y loud, and it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Any background noise, and call is completely cutting out. This occurs all the time, but more so using earphones with in cord mic.

I have iphone5 ios6 and the Mic is too sensitive, and calls constantly cut in and  out. People tell me there is loud background noise and it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. Any background noise, and call completely cuts in and out and sounds as if call is dropping. This occurs all the time, but more noticeable while using earphones with in cord mic. I never had this problem with my old iphone4. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a setting that can correct this problem?

Same problem for me.  So bad in fact that I can't really use my headphones for calls.  I have tried it with several sets of headphones.  My primary are the Bang and Olufsen headphones which were great with the previous iphone 4 and 3.
    Apple please address this issue.

  • So I have an iPad 2 for two years. Has never been dropped or in water or damaged in any way....now the volume is distorted and I get booted off the web all the time. Plus it shows and no service in top left corner. Any one have these issues?

So I got is iPad as a gift and the same issues I had with my iPhone 4S is also happening with my iPad. Will Apple cover the problem as it lies within there updates or something. All I know I have taken perfect care of both products and volume is distorted. Can't listen to music, I get booted off the web all the time, I can't even chat with Apple icare it won't work and no service shows on top left corner. What is wrong with Apple products? I'm thinking it's time to switch! I've had to change my iPhone twice now......first time for mic not working and then camera shutter kept sticking. Same on my iPad........ I don't want to pay to get this fixed as it's not my fault this is happening...... It's software apparently?

This really is starting to feel like a hardware issue than a software one.
Especially if hearing noises when you connecting up your iPad for charging.
Something happened to your iPad that has nothing to do with a software update.
This is why I recommend that
I can't help you any farther.
It sounds as if you really need to take this iPad in for a repair.
Since you are reluctant to do this, there is nothing more I can suggest to you.
Good Luck on whatever you decide to do.

  • Safari 3.2 newest Version crashes all the time...

    Hi,
since I downloaded the latest version of safari it keeps crashing, often even on startup. Took me nearly 10 tries to get this text online... I tried uninstalling plugins, removing all USB and firewire devices, nothing works... I even downloaded safari again, also the security update (again, since I use automatic update all the tim so I must assume that it has been downloaded). I switched from PC to Mac a year ago for exactly the reason that I was sick of having to check my system myself and having to deal with instability. I just USE it I normally don't try to install stuff unless update tells me to do so or it is standard software like Office. I hope this problem can be solved. Here's the description.
    Thanks a lot

There is usually a number of of posts in these forums after any update which, for one reason or another, has caused problems for the posters.
Some users blame Apple, but in 99% of cases this is not fair. Apple cannot possible test for every theoretical permutation of what users have installed in terms of third party software, hacks, plug-ins, what-have-you. The developers of such software can sometimes be slow to update their products to comply with the accepted industry standards that Apple follow (but which others fail to meet), particularly where security updates are concerned.
Nor can Apple allow for what regular maintenance, if any, has been carried out by the user before installation, and that includes having kept their software up to date.
For the vast majority (millions) of users such updates create no problems at all, but that is the last thing a user with problems wants to hear, and I only mention it to reassure you and not to annoy you!
N.B. Never delete Safari, never run it under Rosetta, check your proxy settings*, and don't change the application's name or move it from the top level of the Applications Folder to a sub-folder.
So, following the advice given here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1791104&tstart=0
will usually rectify the situation (and most likely have prevented the problems in the first place), and users with these problems are welcome to copy/paste and print this out, for easy reference next time a system or application update is offered by Software Update.
If you still have problems, try this as well:
Empty Safari's cache (from the Safari menu), then close Safari.
Go to Home/Library/Safari and delete the following files:
    form values
    download.plist
Then go to Home/Library/Preferences and delete
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    Repair permissions (in Disk Utility).
Start up Safari again, and things should have improved. If not an archive and install is the only solution towards rectifying your faulty system.
*If you use proxy settings, read the post from Keats2010 here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1797417&tstart=0

  • IPhone 4 shuts down on its own all the time. Sometimes restarts without ability to make calls, receive emails, and the wrong time.  Only a restore fixes it.  What can I try?

So my iPhone had a broken screen and back for a while, which may have something to do with this.  I mean like missing peices.  I realize this leads to corrosion and I may have a broken iPhone but this is a really strange problem.  It's always shutting off on its own, sometimes in my pocket while locked and sometimes randomly while in use.   For example the other day this started happening everytime I started safari.  This happens all the time, I usually just restart it and it works for a while.   Sometimes after shutting off a few times in a row, after restarting it will show the wrong time, screws up phone calls and says that it cannot locate the gmail server, or something to that extent (won't load emails).   The phone calls are weird, I can't receive any.   Any calls that are made from the phone, go through on the other side and ring for them, but won't ring or make a connection on my side, also I can't end the call when this happens, it responds to me pressing end by fading the screen to that graytone color that it does before ending usually but stays on that screen whenever you go back to it, only disappearing after reseting.  Texts work, not in iMessage, and internet seems to work.   The only thing that fixes this condition is a restore. The iphone has been turning itself off over the last 3 months and its been getting progressively worse.  Recently its been pretty bad, and then the phone started to do all that weird stuff I've been talking about.  That started about 3 weeks ago and has happened 4 times, the last two times relatively close together.   This is really annoying and I can't afford to replace it.   Do I have to live with it?   What can I try?  Should I maybe replace the battery?  I took the panel off to look at it and the plastic around it was pitted possibly from being really hot.

Please don't respond with useless comments.  I've already addressed the fact that my screen was broken a few months ago.  My phone may or may not be broken beyond repair either way, as I said before I can't afford a new phone.  It's a strange problem because from what I can tell no one else has posted the same problem anywhere I can find.  Don't be a dickhole.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.I've never had this problem before... today I opened iTunes and it prompted me to download the newest version.  I use iTunes all the time and have updated it multiple times with no issues.  During the installation process it gave me an error message that said:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files\iTunes.exe
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I quit the installation, uninstalled iTunes and rebooted my computer.  I now receive a similar message with a slight difference:
    Runtime error!
    Program C:\Program Files (x86)...
    R0634
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I did not leave anything out from the error message.  It doesn't point to a specific file, it just ends with "(x86)..."  Every time I boot up my computer, this error message pops up on my desktop.
How do I repair this issue?  I have found multiple suggested solutions but am unsure which one is the best, and I don't want to try a bunch of different things for fear I may make the problem worse.  I would like to try and fix this myself if possible but I need to know if that is really possible or if I need to take my computer to someone for repairs.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

    Hi lustyln,
I'm having a little trouble understanding all of what you are trying to explain. From what I can tell, it sounds like your PC has a lot of software problems and you want to know what is supposed to be there and what isn't.
For reference, here are your product specifications:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01893242&lc=en&product=4043282
To get your PC software back to how it was when it was first purchased, run a system recovery:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01867418&lc=en&product=4043282
    I hope this helps.

  • Header Images not all the time in APEX 3.1.1.06

    Hi
I'm running APEX on a Oracle 11gR1 server and a Oracle 10gR2 XE Server.
Both these servers don't load the images in my application all the time, refreshing the page either loads the images or not and its random which ones load or not.
The images always load when using APEX application builder and SQL workshop, it only happens to my own applications.
This happened after upgrading to APEX 3.1 I think, cant recall the exact build it occurred on.
Details of the two different APEX installs shown below.
    Oracle 11gR1 APEX Details:
    Product Build:     3.1.1.00.09
    Language Preference:     en-gb
    NLS_CHARACTERSET:     WE8MSWIN1252
    DAD CHARACTERSET:     UTF-8
    Oracle 10gR2 XE APEX Details:
    Product Build:     3.1.1.00.09
    Language Preference:     en-gb
    NLS_CHARACTERSET:     AL32UTF8
    DAD CHARACTERSET:     UTF-8
What can I do to fix this or is it just a case of waiting for the next patch?
    Regards
    Adam

I reproduced this yesterday, but I won't get a chance to look at this more until next week. What I found:
    1) I reproduced this on 11.1.0.6 using the XDB HTTP Protocol server and embedded PL/SQL gateway
    2) I believe the "50% of the time%" is really a function of the browser and its internal computation of "Expires" for a resource for which no Expires date was specified.
    3) I turned maximum tracing on with dbms_epg.set_global_attribute('log-level', 7). It showed that this is raising an error of "HTTP headers not closed", but a) the code explicitly closes the headers, and b) a trace using Firebug and/or Live HTTP headers also showed this was closed. It would be useful to know if you are encountering this same error (it will generate a database trace file which you will need to examine).
It would also be useful if you changed the globalization settings for your application to derive application language from browser, and then attempt to reproduce this with both en-us and en-gb.
So far, though, this issue is not the same one discussed in the other thread. That was a function of an exception being raised due to a bug in the XDB HTTP protocol server, and it was also a function of the database NLS settings. The workaround for that is in place in 3.1.1.

  • SharePoint TempDB.mdf growing too large? I have to restart SQL Server all the time. Please help

    Hi there,
On our DEV SharePoint farm > SQL server
The tempdb.mdf size grows too quickly and too much. I am tired of increasing the space and cannot do that anymore.
All the time I have to reboot the SQL server to get tempdb to normal size.
The Live farm is okay (with similar data) so it must be something wrong with our
    DEV environment.
Any idea how to fix this please?
    Thanks so much.

How do you get the tempdb to 'normal size'? How large is large and how small is normal.
Have you put the databases in simple recovery mode? It's normal for dev environments to not have the required transaction log backups to keep the ldf files in check. That won't affect the tempdb but if you've got bigger issues then that might be a symptom.
Have you turned off autogrowth for the temp DB?

In case anyone has had the same problem as me, I have just managed to fix this by doing the following:
    Switch off Mac
Switch back on in Safe Mode (Hit power button, then hold Shift key until a loading bar appears at the bottom of the screen).
    Switch off Mac again
Remove power cord and wait 15 seconds
Plug power cord back in and hold down the keys alt, cmd, p, r all at the same time until you hear Starting chime for a second time and hopefully your audio will back.

  • Verizon's iPhone 4S is dropping the first call almost all the time?

    Hi.
    I have a verizon iPhone 4S.
Everytime I make the first call to someone, I don't hear anything.
When I end that call and try calling again, it works.
This has been happening almost all the time.
I tried letting the phone app turned on but it doesn't solve the problem.
I'm not sure if other carrier's iPhones are having this problem.
Does anyone know what the problem is to this?
    Thank you very much.

I tried letting the phone app turned on but it doesn't solve the problem.
    What does that mean?
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    If still a problem, restore.
If still a problem, take it in to Apple for a warranty replacement.
IMO, you'll probably end up taking it in to Apple but the other steps are worth trying.

When I start the late 2009 iMac and boot with the Option Key, I need to click the Magic Mouse all the time so the mouse can be detected and move the cursor to the Snow Leopard icon ( in its boot menu ). After the Magic Mouse is detected, it's good from there.
Is this normal or there's something wrong with the Magic Mouse? The keyboard doesn't need to be pressed though to be detected, it's detected each time.
    Thank you in advance.

I cannot see why you should have to click the magic mouse in order for it to be detected ... unless you have changed the batteries.  See my notes which cover the points made in your other recent post.
Batteries.  Here are a few notes I've put together.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems.
Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best. Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.  I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.    Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.  The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.  Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced. Note.
Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.
The notes above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.  Note.  Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly the rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ... Turn off the device. Remove the batteries, Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and the batteries themselves. Replace or renew both batteries. Turn on the device.  You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired. Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.
