Mic set-up for conference room?

Hi,
My company recently expanded and I need to rethink our current mic set-up. What I'd like to do is use a mic connected to the computer to project to the other participants on the call and through our speaker set-up in our office.
Any suggestions?

The iMic is more a consumer thing, not very professionnal. If you want a good quality setup but yet affordable, I'd choose a Focusrite Saffire for preamp/audio interface and a Rode NT-1A for mic. Also, you'll need the usual accessories: a pop-filter ( I highly recommend Stedman), a mic stand, a quality XLR cable and good headphones (I suggest AKG K240 Studio).

Setting maxP2PStreamPublish for a room

Hi,
How do I set the parameter maxP2PStreamPublish of StreamManager for a room to enable more than 3 p2p streams to be published by a publisher?
Also, what are the implications of setting this value to a very high value??

Hi,
LCCS handles the p2p streams through Player and we don't put any special restrictions on the upper limit of stream capacity. For p2p streams, there are a lot of factors, the internal mesh that gets created between clients, the bandwidth required at the client to handle these streams and so on. Flash Player can handle only a particular number of those connections and when you go above that, the meshes inside player for p2p gets messed up and you can't have p2p.
You can talk to player team or post in their forums if you want internal details about p2p stream limitations. So, we always ask users to use hub-spoke if they need large number of streams in a room.
And maxP2PStreamPublish is a public var inside streamManager. So , you can do something like
var streamManager:StreamManager = connectSession.streamManager;
streamManager.maxP2PStreamPublish = "your val"

Suggestions for conference room camera?

I realize this is off topic, but the question is indirectly related to the webcam built-in to the Macbook Pro I use for video conferencing. Short of investing in professional video conference hardware and software, what types of external cameras can be used with GoToMeeting or Skype to simulate a video conference experience. We are wanting to have a team of people in one meeting location connect with another team of people. Macbook Pro webcams are difficult to position to get a whole team. I want something does wide angle and is Mac OS X compatible. Thanks for any suggestions.

For one customer we tried to avoid using staging at all. Customer didn't have staging step.
So we made an experiment - new trigger on MTL_MATERIAL_TRANSACTIONS_TEMP was created. Trigger (in picking scenarios) replaced To_Subinventory and To_Locator.
Finally this trigger was not used (we found another way). Also I can't confirm You that it's correct modification of OeBS. It's on Your risk.
I think this can be used in Your situation.

Poor performance for my wlan in conference rooms

Hi,
I have real problems in my conference rooms. I have deployed about 25 aps for my building. I have 1242, 1131, 3501 and 1142's. I have a 2 story building. I've used the WCS maps feature to provide me with a coverage area map. I think that the upstairs and downstairs AP's are interfering with each other. It was suggested I put 3 AP's into one conference room, each with it's own a/b or g radio. How do I pinpoint what is causing the problems with connectivity in my conference rooms?
Also, have you tried manually adjusting power levels? I believe once I start with that, I'll have to touch each and every ap, if I start messing with that. Any suggestions?

Remeber that when working with wireless we should always do a site survey to determine the current rf the site has, where to locate the access points , how many access points to get and where to install each ap so that the overlap between the aps is not more then 15%.
Also once the APs are installed you can use the wlc options and heck how many rouges aps the wlc aps are seeing since this rouges would affect your aps and auto rrm will not be able to know what channel to use on the aps managed by your wlc so you would need to configure it manully, also you can go to the monitro tab, select the ap by ap to see how each ap sees the signal to another ap managed y the wlc.
For auto rrm to work on the wlc you need that each ap sees atleast 3 more aps with a good signal to be able to set the correct power and channel to use.

Block conference room for all but one user

hoping to lock down one conference room I turned off autoprocessing and added user to resource inpolicy
but mtg resources are stil going in the room.

1130 AG in a conference room for WiFi media presentation

Does Cisco have a solution to a conference room setting where the presenter can xmit his images (.ppt etc...) from laptop via WPA2/eap-fast AP to a plasma monitor (the monitor will have a VGA input std 15-pin).

Conference Room issue, double bookings allowed even though AllowConflicts is set to False

Hi. I used ADsi Edit to completely delete/remove my public folders database. I now run Get-PublicFolderDatabase and it doesn't find one, so I think I have completely removed it. My issue is that all my conference rooms are now allowing double bookings
even though AllowConflicts is set to False. I'm pretty sure I have jacked this up due to deleting the public folder database. What should I do to correct this? Thanks. John

Conference room inactivity setting - can it be changed??

We have 8 apple TV's that we use in conference rooms. We set the conference room display option on and really like everything about this new feature but we are unable to use it because it has an inactivity setting of 2 minutes. Many of our meetings and presentations revolve around much longer periods of inactivity (I.e. a slide is shown and then there is a discussion). Apple TV continually times out.
is there a way to change / diable the inactivty setting?

I changed the sleep after setting to "never" and I'm still having the inactivity timeout problem. @SigV did this actually solve your problem?

What peripherals do you need to turn your iPhone into a conference room speakerphone system?
If you buy a separate conference mic and a speaker, can they somehow work together off the iPhone headphone jack like a huge set of group earphones? What if you want to connect 2 mics and a speaker?
Do you have to be very careful that they can all be attached somehow at the same time?
Are there reasonably priced conference room speakerphone peripherals the work well together that you would recommend?

Command-line to create conference rooms.

I want to script the creation of conference rooms. I also want to script the population of these conference rooms. I want to create the conference rooms with default access of NONE and add only the users that I designate to the conference room (either as READ, WRITE, or MANAGE). Can this be done?

How do you execute the Shell in -debug mode? I executed the Shell with the following commands:
1) go to domainims:/opt/SUNWiim/config/log4j.conf and set log4j.logger.xmppd=DEBUG,A1. It should be set to INFO right now, I believe.
2) restart the server
# /opt/SUNWiim/sadmin/imadmin refresh
3) start the Shell application
# bash
# cd /home/staff/user2/im (or /home/staff/user2) (look for Shell.java file)
# export classpath=./jso.jar:./jaxen-core.jar:./saxpath.jar:./xp.jar:./collab-service.jar:./log4j.jar:./

4) Type the following commands inside the Shell

The only error message that I received in the Shell was:
Cannot create conference:
I will email you the filtered xmppd.log files. The GUI log file shows the creation of the test2 conference while the Shell log file gives no error information after it tries to create the test2 conference room.

Conference room resource permissions Outlook 2013

I set room resources to auto accept/decline with author permissions. I want to keep permissions where the delegates can only create and edit their own meetings. Is there a way for email notifications of accepted/declined meetings and accepted/declined
bookings for the rooms? I also want the meetings to show up in the author's personal calendar.

Folder rights are distinct from autoacceptance capabilities.
You are welcome to investigate the behavior of conference room moderation, which is kind of what you want, but not exactly. Here's the documentation for Exchange 2010.
