Mic too quiet in calls - even with headphones?

I like to make skype calls with my friends, i use my iPhone 6 on ios 8.1 for this... They have been complaining that my mic is too quiet and they cannot hear me. i tried plugging in apple headphones and using the remote mic, but it made no difference. Weirdly my mic works fine when i use it in the voice memo app or when recording a video... It seems to be just during facetime and skype calls... No one has complained that it's bad during a cellular call either so i assume its fine then.
i Have found no solution to this and have tried a restore, reboot... And i tried deleting and reinstalling skype...
any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

CIT200/300 mic too quiet

this happened yesterday.
I currently have both CIT200 and CIT300, but i use the 200 model since its simpler. i use skypephone mostly every day with no problems up untill yesterday.
For some very strange reason, the other party cannot hear me loud, and from the audio devices options in skype i noticed that the mic bar is very low even if i have it in max. At first i thought that the mic on CIT200 was malfunctioning. But anyway, i installed CIT300 and guess what? i still have the same problem. Now, i dont think that this is a coincidence, both phones' mics are malfunctioning?? i dont think so. I even installed both CIT stations on different computers just to ensure this doesnt have to do with my PC, although i was 99% it wasnt since i know very well how to configure audio settings on my PC. I had these phones for over 2 years and were working perfectly fine, and i dont think that the mic are faulty becasue if that was the case the other party would not hear me at all.
What i think is that skype is sabotaging third-party products so their customers would eventually buy their own products.
Anyway since i cannot contact linksys for this matter because for some reason the dont give support on VoIP products anymore, im posting this here hopefully will solve this problem.
Since my phones are not faulty i believe all cit200/300 users will have the same problem.

hey thanks for ur reply..i thought i made that clear about the other computer...i wouldnt go into that trouble of writing this if on the other computer were working fine.. that would mean thats something wrong on the other pc..anyway..the same problem exist on all computers..now if i was testing 1 phone i would probably assume that the phone is faulty but its 2 phones..and i dont think that both are faulty..before that day both of them were working fine..and the weird thing is that the mic is not broken.its just too low...i have to scream for the other party to hear me..and i found another thread in here by a user who was/is facing the same problem..the thread is a year old and no replied were posted on that thread so i dont know what happened..if they used fixed it or not..i left a msg hopefully the user will get it...
i would like to know other users of cit200/300 are having the same problem..if not please at least reply to me..so i discard the assumption of skype sabotagind third-party skype phones...

LG Ally: Sound only works (media and calls namely) with headphones. (Solution)

I recently had a problem with my phone that was driving me crazy for the past few days.
The problem in particular was:
When i would answer phone calls, i would hear nothing on the other side of the call. In addition i was unable to watch Youtube videos and listen to the sound on the phone's speakers. Even more peculiar was that i would hear my ringtones and notification sounds, which i could also listen to when playing the sounds for fun.
Now it seems like its a fairly common problem for those who have the same kind of phone that i do, so i dabbled in the number of solutions:
- restarting my phone
-turning my phone off and taking out the battery for 30 seconds (which i did, but left the battery out for much longer than specified)
-restored factory settings (which erased a lot of apps and what not in the process)
Note that im only stating all this just to clear up what the problem was and what i tried to do to fix it. and i actually found the solution on this site:

If you don't care to skim through the posts the solution is this:
The Headphone Jack is (most likely) dirty/dusty/etc. The cleaning formula Pro Gold/De-oxit is recommended, but i found that thinning out a Q-tip so that it can fit in to the jack, then spinning it around inside helps just as well. There was a noticable amount of dirt, and once removed i tried the music app on my phone without headphones only to have it play music again. (Also: I blew into the headphone jack as well. I figured it might have been dirty and from someone who used to play the NES, this is a very common practice.)
Anyway i hope this helps out anyone with this problem in the future. So try to find this before you return your phone and/or restore factory settings.

Good post! I had a problem similar to this a while back with my Eris where the headphone icon would stay in the notification bar. I had to use basically the same solution (I think I used a toothpick, though a Q-Tip is probably safer). I do find it funny that you blew into the hole, as I did the same thing, also being a former NES player. Why did that always work?!?

LR2.3 images too bright after import even with flat or no development opt. checked

Hi, was always experiencing too dark prints from LR in different version (currently I have 2.3 installed), done all screen calibrations whatsoever, and now that I tried to get to the bottom of the issue, I found that LR seems to brigten up images even though no processing option is welcome nor checked at all. Did some research with a particular image that exhibited a difference in brightness in comparision with CS4 (on a different PC) and PSE5 o nthe same machine of estimated 2EV. Upon correction in LR however, colors and the histogram already got distorted, so no real option here. How can I tell LR to import stuff exactly as it was shot? Any hint is greatly appreciated.
I'm not suppying any attachment to illustrate the issue now as I hope it is known (although during my recent reaseach in the internet, I only found a singly reference, that dind' help much further...).

Loudspeaker plays even with headphone in

Why is my iPod Touch always playing music through speaker while my headphones is connected to earphone jack? It's connected already, it should be playing the sound only on the headphone, not both. This is so annoying. I want the music play only through my headphones.
The ipod is new. Is it the jack? Should I go there and let them fix it? again?! This is could be my 3rd time there. First time was for WSOD (logic board problem) - they replaced it with a new one, 2nd time was for a screen problem - they replaced it again. And now for the 3rd time headphone problem? ARGHH..!!! its really frustrating. Thank God I still have my warranty!

This problem happened to my wife's 3rd Gen iPod Touch yesterday. I had her perform a reset (hold the sleep and home buttons down at the same time until the white apple logo appears) and that corrected her problem. About once every 2-3 weeks, my play/pause button stops working on the headphones unless I do this reset, but once I do, the button resumes working properly. Remember, this is essentially just a small computer, so you do occasionally have to restart it.

Dropping calls even with 2.2

Why does this phone keep dropping calls? I spend a good amount of money and it drops calls, comon?

I don't know folks, but I have yet to drop a call in nearly 4 months with this iPhone 3G, and the other older iPhone was likewise.
I travel from the Southern San Joaquin Valley, out here in California, and down through Southern California, Nevada, Arizona, and I've yet to have any problems of note. I've had very very few issues with this phone or MobileMe - it all works as it's supposed to.
Try a reset, if that doesn't do it, a full restore, and from there call or go see an Apple support person.

The message you are receiving is telling you that you are trying to call outside your Subscription coverage.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

Ipod 4th or 5th gen only plays music out loud even with headphones in

So recently my Ipod decided that it only wanted to play music as if there weren't any headphones in it even though i had headphones plugged in. Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Check also Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing. Make sure that the sound balance is not set all the way to "R".
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

The sound is flat even with headphones.

Is there an equalizer or similar way to get better sound? I connect my headphones to an HP get great sound good bass. The Mac Book Pro sounds week and little bass.

If you are using iTunes, in the iTunes menu bar click Window, in that dropdown there is Equalizer, you can then "sweeten it to your taste". Be sire to check the ON box>

Internal Speakers play even with headphones in

My ipod has just recently been unable to play music from headphones. When the headphones are connected the internal speakers play. For about 2-3 weeks I have had a audio cable for my car plugged into the headphone jack. Could this be the reason why the jack is malfunctioning?

Make sure your headphones are plugged all the way in meaning no silver from the headphone's plug can still be seen.
Otherwise try a hard reset of the device to see if that helps.

Music levels from song to song still too varied-even with "sound check" on

Hi,
A friend bought an iPod in place of his CD player so he could shuffle lots of songs.
The song volumes are inconsistent from song to song... sometimes too soft, sometimes too loud... even with "sound check" on...
What is wrong? What should he try? It's worse than his CD player so he says...

There are 3rd party programs that do this more effectively (at least in my opinion).
For Macs there is iVolume.
Also Macmp3Gain.

EE Harrier ringtone too quiet even with volume settings on max, any suggestions

I have recently upgraded to a EE harrier and a Harrier mini for my wife.On both phones the ringtones are very quiet even with the volume settings set on maximum.This is causing us to miss calls and messages as the ringtones are just too quiet.Ive tried ringtone booster apps but have yet to find one that works.Any suggestions ?

I have an i pod and am having problems with sound. When I watch any video on the device with headphones the music is always too loud for the voice meaning i can't hear what is being said. This problem is accompanied with a buzz in some parts of the music.

When watching a video with my headphones the volume of speech seams very low even when i adjust volume. The speech also tends to make a humming sound in places. When I listen to music humming is sometimes transmitted, but the volume level is normal. The problem is that when the video is playing i can only hear music and humming with the voice too quiet to hear properly. How can I make both volumes balanced? Also. This happens in all music videos.

Siri too loud with headphones in

I have the volume on siri turned way up so I can hear her well enough in most rooms. but when I plug in my headphones, it is so loud it's painful. I thought the volume for things like this was supposed to immediately adjust to be lower when headphones are plugged in?
note: keyboard clicks and the lock noise also seem too loud too, but that doesn't bother me. ring tones are quiet enough with the headphones in.

Adjust the volume with headphones plugged in to what is a comfortable level for you. This does not affect the volume level without headphones plugged in.

Headphone jack too quiet in replacement iPhones

The lock screen button on my original iPhone started sticking, so I took it to the warranty service. They decided to replace it with a new one.
The problem with the new unit was that the headphone jack was too quiet, and the phone was thinner. We verified this by comparing it to two other original 4S units.
For sound, we used the the same track and the same headphones on all phones. You can really hear that my new replacement was at least twice as quiet. And yes, we've made sure all the settings and iOS / app versions are identical.
As for the thickness, we tried my Olloclip on all the phones, and it straight up falls off the replacement unit, while holding firmly on the other ones. Also, made sure there were no screen protectors on either side of the iPhones.
So, there you go, two of the main use cases for me are now impossible - photography and music.
Took it back to the service. They confirmed the faults and replaced the phone again. With a unit with both of the same problems. When confronted again, they now declined, claiming the defects are not there. So on two separate occasions the service first confirmed, and then declined the very same faults.
Has this happened to anyone? How do you go about this? Are the replacements sent by apple supposed to be like that?

FYI, I bought the Griffin AutoPilot in order to hook our 4g nano to our car stereo and I didn't need the included audio cable. However I put it to use with our speakers in our bedroom which are simple ones that don't directly support the iPod. With the cable that came with the speakers we had this problem - couldn't plug in a dock cable and the audio cable at the same time. The audio cable that came with the AutoPilot has a much slimmer connector and it does the trick.
