Mice problem in solaris 10 6/06
Hi friends
as Fabian helped me , regarding soughting out my graphic problem , now othetrproblem has occured , at startup my solaris detects my mice fine , but one i used to make logoff after that my mice disappears , pls help me to solve this prob.
To answer your question wangzh: Yes I did. I actually followed exactly the procedure on the how-to-uides: http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/howtoguides/containersLowRes.jsp.
I think the problem here might reside in the script supplied in the solaris distribution for creating zones. For example, in the default configuration script, the package directories /lib /platform /var and /usr are by default set to be automatically imported. But when I try to create a zone using these defaults settings, it ends up with an mounting error that prevents the installation of the zone. only when I remove manually those directories from the configuration then the installation continues.
And during the installation process there are number of packages that are by default imported via the installation script and this is some of those packages that cause the errors here. I also tried to exclude the offending packages as suggested by henryC but I couldn't find all of them and the creation still fails at the booting.

Focus Problem on Solaris with jdk 1.3.1
Hi all,
We are having a focus problem on Solaris. The same code works fine on Windows without any problem.
I am sending the test code and run steps below which you can compile and repeat the problem.
NOTE: When we put a comment on the line "f1.requestFocus();" in TestFocus.java it works OK.
Run Steps :
1. Run TestFocus.class
2. A JFrame appears with 2 text field and a button
3. Try to write something on the text fields. It works OK.

TestFocus gen01 = new TestFocus();Hi all,
We are having a focus problem on Solaris.
4. Click the button to open a new JFrame
5. A new JFrame opens with a single text field and a button.
6. Click the button to close the second frame
7. You are now on the main JFrame
8. Try to write something on the text fields. It works OK.
9. Repeat the steps 4-7
10. Try to write something on the text fields. You are able to focus and write on the first field. BUT you cannot select or write the second Field!

Help needed with HTC One regarding mic problem with noise cancellation
I picked up an HTC One last week, and so far I am loving the phone. Great build quality, screen, sound - all as advertised.
However, there is one very annoying problem I am having. When I am talking to someone, I can gear them great, but they keep telling me I sound muffled or robotic. I performed some tests, and the problem appears to be something with the dual microphones and the HTC One's noise cancellation features.
Here are the tests I ran:
Typical phone call, with holding the phone as I normally do on the sides and to my ear. Call result, pretty muffled voice. I'd give the call quality a 5/10.
Help the phone as I typically do, but covered the mic hole on the back of the phone. This definatelyimproved call quality. Was louder and clearer, but not perfect. I'd rate it at 8/10.
Help the phone towards the bottom, using my hand to kind of cup the bottom directing the sound to the bottom mic. This was a further improvement in sound quality. Rating would be 9/10.
Help phone as normal, but covered the bottom mic hole. Very low volume and muffled sound. Rating a 4/10.
Talked directly into the bottom of the phone into the bottom mic. This gave perfect call quality and volume. Rating a 10/10!
Talked directly into the mic on the back of the phone. Horrible quality, couldn't hear hardly anything. Rating 0/10.
Speaker phone on, held the phone up and moved it around as I would normally use a speaker phone. Call quality was really nice. Id give it 9/10.
Speaker phone on, covered back mic hole and used speaker phone as in #7. Very bad quality, rating 1/10 for call quality.
Speaker phone on, covered bottom mic and help speaker phone in hand. Really good quality, even an improvement over test #7. Would give the call quality a 9.5/10.
Speaker phone on, placed face down on table. Volume a bit low, a little muffled. Call quality 6/10.
Speaker phone on, place face up on table. A bit worse than test #10, low volume and a bit muffled. Call quality is 5/10.
Based on these tests, I know this problem has nothing to do with the network CDMA connection. It is obvious that the noise cancellation features are a bit too aggressive, or I have some hardware problem with one or both mics.
I question wether its really a hardware mic problem, because on non-speaker phone calls, talking directly into the bottom mic gives great quality. And on Speaker phone, covering the bottom mic makes the speaker phone sound really good. That's why I think there's something going on with the "Sense Sound" noise cancellation.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues? I want to be able to hold the phone normal on a non speaker phone call and get good quality.
Looking for any tips and advice anyone can give. Is it worth exchanging for a new one, as I am still in my 14 day window.
Thanks in advance for the help! Here are some other threads that seem to be having similar issues:

Metainit/striping problem on Solaris 9
We are trying to deploy the Apple XServe RAIDS to customers running Solaris 9. The issue is that Solaris 9 will not recognize a device/LUN that is > 2TB. (No problem with Solaris 10) In trying to solve this problem, we sliced a 7 disk (4.09 TB) RAID into 3 slices. This presents three 1.36TB disks to the Solaris system. Basically, we have 6 disks being presented across both controllers to Solaris. They are direct connected from the XServe to a dual port QLogic HBA. The problem comes in when you try to create a stripe/concatenation across the logical devices being presented. (The disks are being presented on C4 and C5)
Results from a format AFTER I split both 7 disk RAID5s into 3 slices.

Trying to initialize a 6 device stripe via Solaris Volume Manager (AKA disksuite)
metainit -f d77 6 1 c4t600039300001F461d0s0 1 c4t600039300001F461d1s0 1 c4t600039300001F461d2s0 1 c5t600039300001F2ECd0s0 1 c5t600039300001F2ECd1s0 1 c5t600039300001F2ECd2s0
I receive the following error:
metainit: hostname: c4t600039300001F461d1s0: overlaps with device in d77
I tried to do a work around where I create three striped devices then concatenate them:
Creating the first 2 device stripe across controllers c4 and c5 (1 device each)
metainit -f d77 2 1 c4t600039300001F461d0s0 1 c5t600039300001F2ECd0s0
I was able to create the first metadevice d77 using one logical LUN from each controller.
When I tried to create a second metadevice across the controllers: (Using d1 from each controller)
metainit -f d78 2 1 c4t600039300001F461d1s0 1 c5t600039300001F2ECd1s0
metainit: hostneme: c4t600039300001F461d1s0: overlaps with device in d77
I received the same error.
In doing some reaearch, it seems the problem is due to a problem with the disk duplication process, disk device IDs stored on the disks are not unique. I was curious if this is the problem that Apple presents the split disks with the SAME diskid? Has anybody else successfully created stripes (due to a LUN size limit) across the disk successfully on a Solaris system?I contacted Sun and here is an explination from them. I also noticed when I queried the Xserver RAIDS, there were no serial numbers.
Solaris 9 can support a 16Tb filesystem, but there is a scsi limitation on the device of 2Tb. So you are stuck with striping together several smaller devices if you want a single filesystem above 2Tb.
The problem you are having when metainit reports an overlap comes from the way Solaris Volume Manager identifies devices. The portion of the scsi inquiry that is returned is always unique when Sun firmware is involved, but in your case is not unique.
You may be able to make use of the appended infodoc to avoid this problem. I see no evidence of our having tested this with your particular scenario, but it has been successful in similar cases.
You might also inquire of whoever supports your storage device whether a mode is supported whereby the device's inquiry strings can be made unique.
Here is the steps he wanted me to take and the results. I still can not get the Xserve RAIDS to generate a unique device id:
Step 1
Determine the vendor and product strings. You can run these commands:
# netstat -k | grep -i vendor
# netstat -k | grep -i product
netstat -k | grep -i vendor

Mic problems with all boards thread! What do we do to fix this or do we need a new boa
I have come the conclusion that this is not just a mic problem but a uni'versal line in problem since several devices can be connected thru my SoundBlaster Li've! 24-bit line in port. I'm assuming its a software problem and it seems to be a common problem. The second possibilty is that part of the board is either defected or assembled incorrectly. Either way everyone seems to have made sure that:
A. there drivers are up to date.
B. they have dissabled any other audio device in windows or in BIOS.
C. there mic won't work no matter what port they attempt.
D. creative software changes of audio devices and mixer still don't change anything.
I came on here for answers yet all i find is questions.
And all seem to be pretty similar. There are many other posts pertaining individual audio cards, yet they all have the same problem. If your having the same problem post here and keep this thread ali've, if you have an answer to your own problems you'd like to share post it here. Hoping for a Creative response to either my post or one of the many other posts on the same subject.Message Edited by syferus on 09-23-2005 0:30 AMIf you have a PCI-GPIB card, you needn't worry about the USB port or whether or not Windows ME supports 1394. All you need in NI-488.2 version 1.70 from National Instruments. Install this driver and then insert your card. Windows should detect the card and find the proper driver.
If this did not happen in the proper sequence, look in the device manager and see if the card was installed as an "other device". If this happens, remove the card in the device manager and have windows redetect it. If this is not a solution, you may consider the ask an engineer page at www.ni.com/ask. Provide as many details as possible. -
Mic problem & warrenty issue .
Hiii
I have iPhone 4S which is having mic problem i guess.During voice calls the call receiver at other end unable to hear my voice on handset mode but on speaker mode he can hear my voice.
Also wanted to know in which country my phones warrenty is valid .
iPhone4S
Model: MD241LL/A
Serial No.: DNPHN0Z3DTD6Hi Alankar,
Make sure your iPhone case is not covering the mic. It is on the bottom to the right or left of the connector. Have you tried a call without a case on the phone?
Your Model Number indicates that this is a US phone, so the warranty would be valid in the US.
Cheers,

Rsh disconnect problems in Solaris 10
My company uses rsh to transmit data to proprietary cards, from Ultra 25's running Solaris 10. We're experiencing random timeouts. The error is rsh connection timeout.
We never had this problem on Solaris 8 or Solaris 7.
Has anyone run across this before? It's to random to run snoop on. Thanks Marktype passwd mgcusr as root. then you'll need to type new password for that user.

Openwindows dt libs problems in Solaris 2.8
Hello
My Motif Apps work fine with solaris 2.6
Now, we are moving to solaris 2.8.
I compiled the SAME source code in solaris 2.8 - this App have a different look and feel - like fonts being different, bgcolor, etc.
however, if i compile with solaris 2.6 /usr/dt/lib and /usr/openwin/lib - all looks similar
can anyone point the problems with solaris 2.8
/usr/dt/lib and /usr/openwin/lib
Thanks,
venkatAre you using the same dot files, from the same
login account in each case? This sounds like some
local settings are different. Using different
monitors can make a difference, too. There are two
different systems with the same monitor which you
are using from the same home dir? -
Audigy 2 ZS/ Teamspeak/ Mic Problems/ SOL
I gather from other posts im not the first and probably not the last to have problems with my SB card and Teamspeak Mic function, after MANY painful hours of reading this forum, downloading drivers, reinstalling software and countless tweaks to my SB mixer and Teamspeak options I finally got my Mic to work right. Hopefully my pain will help someone one else, I was ready to give up on my Mic/SB card ever working right till I stumbled on what appears to be the fix to to Mic problem, I made so many changes I will list them all as Im not sure that it isnt the combination of any or all things that made it work,
My set up, front Mic and Headphone jack on computer,
-Go to SB mixer function, above the first volume knob is a red arrow, click on it, it will say digital only output, SELECT this option, turn volume up
-reading left to right on the middle part of the mixer, turn the function ON the first 3, turn off the the following 3.
- the 6th funtion should be set to microphone, click on red arrow above mic picture and turn on mic boost function.
-Teamspeak setting, go to options screen select "wave" sound, click ok and adjust in and out volumes on settings panel.
This did it for me, I went from no mic, to fuzzy mic, to crystal clear mic after playing with things for 2 days.
I have new faith in my SB card and hope others are smarter than me and figure it out with out all the research good luck.In the Creative Mixer on the right hand side you should see a separate column with a "Rec" heading. There should be a small upside-down triangle. Click on that and you should get a list. Choose "Analog Mix" which includes Microphone, Line-In, etc. Then to the left, un-mute the source you want.

Happy New Year to all.
I have installed 2 ZS card. Output works well. I want to record a couple of old vinyl albums. I cant either through Creative Surround mixer or through windows get either a Line-in or microphone input to select from. I have tried everything but this forum. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

1. My mic just suddenly has gone out of service. Only some scratching sound can be heard during video recording.
2. I bought my iPad 2 in NY, March of 2011 - I am currenlty in Saudi Arabia,
a. Is there any shop that can accommodate me to fix this mic problem?
b. I have got only a scanned copy of the receipt from the Apple Store in Palisades - am I still covered with a warranty using this scanned copy?Yes, hold a finger longways over most of the nozzle (if you have one) to confine the suction to a specific area. Also, do it for a prolonged period, and gently use a common pin to loosen any foreign matter that my be in it!
