Micorsoft Error Report when installing itunes need!!!

I installed itunes the first time and everything ran smoothly. Then, my disc drive ceased to work and i could intsall, import or play nothing on my pc. This annoyed me somewhat so i attempted to fix it by using XP system restore to the point after i installed itunes. This all went to plan excpet my disc drive still didn't work. Increasingly unhappy i used system restore again but this time to a point before itunes was installed. This fixed my disc drive but when i attempted to install intunes again i got a microsoft error report after the ipod driver had installed and just before Quicktime starts. After constant system restoring it's still the same. I tried deleting everyfile to do with itunes and quicktime but some wouldn't delete i tried anyway and it didn't install again.
The error reports says it will take one file, this is the end of the file:
\LOCALS~1\Temp\3a27_appcompat.txt
I don't know if thats any use but i really need some tips.

NO, this seems to be seen only in the Packard Bells, which leads me to believe its some sort of Packard Bell issue. Here is how to resolve it...
To resolve this behavior, follow these steps:
Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
Locate the UpperFilters value under the following key in the registry:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Locate the LowerFilters value under the same key in the registry:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
This is to get your CD drives working again btw. Looks like you have done all this uninstalling which can lead to other errors.

    Sean,
Yes, this is a known defect:  CSCue69477 - CTI Route Port Synch Issue with CUCM.  As per the bug:
"This issue will occur if the "SUBSCRIBE Calling Search Space" under Protocol Specific Information in the Template for the CTI Route Ports is configured. To work around this, the "Owner User ID" under Device Information for the Template needs to be configured."

  • Error-1603 when installing Itunes on PC

    Hi
I just got a Ipod Nano, and installing Ipod updater went fine, but in the middle of Itunes installing it stop and an error came up.
    hkeylocalmachine\software\classes\.cdda\openWithProgids
    Error 1603
    and installment stoped.
    any help would be nice
    thx

    hi Sofie!
    hkeylocalmachine\software\classes\.cdda\openWithProgids
okay, even though you didn't get a 1402 or a 1406 with that message, i think you should start with this document:
Error 1406 or 1402 appears when you install iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
i've noticed that for some folks with european localisations of Windows, they don't get the error message numbers with those messages referencing registry keys. but problems with those keys generally are 1402s or 1406s on other localisations of Windows.
(generally we only attack the 1603 directly if folks get it as a standalone error. if it shows up at the end of a chain of error messages like this, we should try to deal to the first error in the chain. if we can fix that, the 1603 should go away of its own accord.)

  • Invalid Drive Error 1326 When Installing iTunes for Windows

I used to have an external usb 2.0 portable drive. It since has been uninstalled and trashed. When I tried to log into iTunes it said that some of the files are missing and to uninstall. I uninstalled from Control Panel - itunes, quicktime, ipod- then deleted the files that the support site said to. When I tried to re-install, i get the error that Drive G is invalid- error 1326. Any ideas????
By the way- I couldn't find the files in C:- Windows- System 32 to delete- they weren't there-
    Thanks!

Now I get the error the folder path "My Pictures" contains an invalid character.

  • Error 2 - when installing iTunes

Please help me. Not sure when/how this happened or what led to it, however :-
My I-tunes stopped working, so it advised I should un-install and re-install the program. I've read all the help avail on I-tunes and M'soft. I've un-installed all related programs, installed the M'soft install cleanup wizard, I am positive I've removed all installation files that may be hidden.
It STILL says, once I re-download the 64 (and/or the 32bit) version, that:
"Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again. Error 2."
    Please help.
    What do I do?
    Thanks in advance,
    IT-hopeless
(PS I just watched True Blood for the first time and i'm hanging to buy some more episodes, if some1 could reply.. that would be great!!!)

I've read all the help avail on I-tunes and M'soft. I've un-installed all related programs
Hmmmm. Unfortunately, at the time that I write this post, the Apple documentation on "verifying that iTunes and related componentry is uninstalled" *is inaccurate for 64-bit systems.* The program files are in different locations than on 32-bit systems.
So, just to be sure, we'll try going over the uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and Apple Application Support one more time, with accurate instructions on checking that program files have been completely removed. We'll take a few other explicit precautions along the way, too.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh 64-bit iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line and don't start the iTunes install just yet.)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL925
Now, quit QuickTime (if you have that open) and Safari 4.0.4 (if you have that installed and open). Both applications use Apple Application Support, and they will interfere with the uninstall if you have them open.
    *Uninstall phase*
Head into your "Uninstall a Program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Application Support (if an entry exists in there for that).
(From this point on until we reinstall Apple Application Support, neither QuickTime nor Safari 4.0.4 will be able to run.)
Next we'll remove any leftover program files and folders.
    (1) Open "Local Disk (C:)" or whichever drive your program files are stored on.
    (2) Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
    (3) Right-click on the iTunes folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    (4) *Staying in Program files (x86),* find and open the "Common files" folder.
    (5) Open the "Apple" folder.
    (6) Right-click on the Apple Application Support folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    (7) Go back to "Local Disk (C:)" or whichever drive your program files are stored on.
    (8) Open the "Program Files" folder.
    (9) Right-click on the iTunes folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Now empty your Recycle Bin and restart the PC.
    *Reinstall Phase*
After the PC restarts, do not open any other applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus and antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.
Did the install seem to go through okay? If so, does iTunes start launching properly again?

  • Error Message when installing iTunes 10.7

Everytime I try to install the 64 bit version of iTunes I get the following error message:
    Error message: 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT.type="win32".version="8.0.50727.4053".publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b".processorArchitecture="amd64"'.
I do have a 64 bit version computer. That is not my problem.  This has been happening for over a year now.

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)
