MICR E-13B Font

Hi,
I am trying to purchase MICR E-13B font for check printing.  Is this font file available to be purchased from Adobe?
Please advise.
Thanks

Hi Kumar,
        check the font Micr e-13b exist or not (se73).
Did you selected the font in your paragraph format.Otherwise
1. Create a paragraph format 'MC' with font 'MICR_E'(for Micr e-13b).
2. Go to the window where you are display the check number and select the paragraph format
MC and type C&REGUD-CHECT&C
You must enter the following letter in SAP script if you are printing
"transit" - "A".
"amount" - "B".
"on-us" - "C".
"dash" - "D".
The normal printer won't print the check number.So check the printer.

  • XML Pub v. 5.0.0 Micr Font problems

    Hello--
    I am trying to get MICR font output from XML Pub 5.0.0 for AP checks on Oracle 11.5.10. The MICR is not processing correctly--it is just showing up as a regular font. We have uploaded an xdo.cfg file to the location /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource and the font is located at /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf.
    My settings in Word properties are as follows currently:
    Name: xdo-font.MICR.normal.normal
    Type: Text
    Value: /test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf
    I have also tried the following:
    Name: xdo-font family="MICR" style="normal" weight="normal"
    Type:Text
    Value: truetype path="/test_sysdict/apps/appltest/xdo/11.5.0/resource/fonts/MICR.ttf"
    My config file reads as follows:
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <properties>
    <property name="system-temp-dir">/tmp</property>
    </properties>
    <fonts>
    <font family="MICR" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="fonts/MICR.ttf"/>
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    Can anyone spot something that I am doing wrong that would prevent the font from working? I know that the report recognizes the cfg file because we've applied and then unapplied some security settings successfully using the cfg file. I've been scouring the forum and tried quite a few things but haven't gotten it to work yet.
    Any help at all would be appreciated.
    thanks!

    hi....i am struggling with the E-13B MICR fonts..Please advice how you have fixed ur problem..mine is similar to it.
    I have installed the MICR (E-13B) font on my client machine.
    It exists in ‘C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B’ , I have also put it in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\lib\fonts\E-13B’ &
    ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts’
    In my RTF template I am able to see the font ‘E-13B’, BUT when I do a preview in PDF it is not showing up in MICR font.
    The fields supposed to appear in MICR font appear in normal (Arial / Times New Roman) Format.
    Whereas if I do an preview in RTF the fields appear as expected in MICR font itself. So I am assuming there must be something that we have to do with the PDF fonts as well.
    I have also tried to modify the config file in ‘C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config\xdo.cfg’.
    When I modify this file and added the following lines
    <font family="E-13B" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B.ttf" />
    </font>
    My preview from RTF fails with the following error
    Caused by: java.io.IOException: The system cannot find the path specified

    Please advise on how to proceed further. How did you get it running for yourself.

  • Printing: JDE BIP & Troy Font

    Environment: JDE & BIP
    Printer Type: HP (PCL type printer)
    Troy Font: Troy E13B.ttf
    Why utilize the Troy font .... security. The Troy font is where it appears in reverse locally but the printer will convert it to the correct font.
    History:
    1. After configuration changes & testing the “Troy E-13B” font with JDE/BIP it was determined that there was an issue.
    2. I did some research on the web & tested the following scenarios on the network, leaving out the JDE & BIP components:
    a.     MS Word -> successful with new TTF from “Troy”.
    b.     MS Excel -> successful with new TTF from “Troy”.
    c.     PDF generated from a MS Word document then printed on the printer -> UNSUCCESSFUL
    After talking with "Troy" support, it was explained that the “Troy” fonts do not translate because it cannot see the fonts within the PDF file to translate. I.E. It views the PDF format as a picture.
    It looks like since JDE only generates PDF output, it looks like the “Troy” font cannot be utilized.
    Does anyone have any suggestions or experiences that they can share.
    All insight would greatly be appreciated.

    The Operating System supports that font. We are running this on a Windows 2008 Server and the drivers are install [Troy Driver Support|http://www.troygroup.com/support/drivers.aspx].
    I found these suggestions on another thread:
    - Install the Troy 64 bit universal print driver on the server
    - For 32bit client access, select the Troy printer, select Sharing and add the 32bit universal printer driver
    - Install the fonts on the Troy printer and the Crystal Reports development computer
    - Open the .rpt and first select the Troy printer via File > Print, then select the Troy E-13B font for the MICR field, and then change the MICR field's character spacing from 0 to 9
    I'll let you know if one of these solves the issue.

  • Printer fonts not maintained

    Hi,
    A batch job has failed with the error "No printer fonts maintained for ARCHIXOS"
    ARCHIXOS is the device type. However instead of ARCHIXOS being called, it should call device type ZSWINCF, where all the fonts are maintained.
    The job calls program RM06ENDR_ALV. This program is used for printing and archiving purchase orders.
    1) What changes should I do so that the job does not fail again?
    2) How can I rectify the already existing PO's which are refering to the wrong device type?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mick

    Mick,
    Following is the procedure we are using to configure and test MICR printer and it's devices:
    I hope this will help you to understand the config stuff.
    1. <b>Font verification</b>
    Once the SIMM/DIMM or Secure Font Module is installed, print the PCL Font List (through the printer control panel) to verify that the module was installed correctly and to verify the escape sequence of the fonts.
    2. <b>Creating custom device type</b>
    Once it is confirmed that printer is capable of printing MICR font, we need to create custom device type for this printer.
    •     Execute  transaction code “SPAD”
    •     Select “ Full administration” button to expand all available options
    •     Select “ Device Types ” tab
    •     Type “HP5MI” for  Device types  and press Display
    •     Press “ Change” button
    •     Go to Utilities -> For device types -> Copy device type to ZHP5MI.
    •     Edit Print Control for the new device type ZHP5MI.
    •     Scroll down to Print Control for MICR E-13B 10pt which is SF450. (This is device specific)
    •     In the “Control Character Sequence” column, enter the hexadecimal escape sequence for the MICR E-13B 10 point of the printer. (This is printer/hardware specific).
    The value for current printer hardware is: 1B28384D1B28733070382E30356831302E30763073306231303054
    3. <b>Creating new output device</b>
    •     Execute  transaction code “SPAD”
    •     Click on  “ Change” button
    •     Click on “Create” button
    •     Enter an output device name as “ Accounting check printer”
    •     Enter newly created device type (ZHP5MI)
    •     Select default spool server
    •     Select host spool access method as “c: direct operating system call”
    •     Enter host printer as share print name on server (accounting)
    •     Save the setting.
    4. <b>Test MICR font printing</b>
    •     Execute transaction SO10
    •     Select SAP script “SAPSCRIPT-MICRTEST”
    •     Click on display
    •     Initiate print for displayed text
    •     Check out if MICR font is properly printed.

  • Regarding new bank to be created for new office ...check printing issue...

    dear all..
    i need to create bank for our new office say BARODA office for check printing purpose.
    our comp. has allready configured for mumbai and main office bank...
    but i dont know the full cycle.. can anybody tell me the process to implement the same ?

    Thanks Sandra for your response.
    From the PCL Font list it says
    USB Resident storage fonts
    Font = H E-13B-600
    Pitch/Point = 8.00/8.4
    Esc sequence = <esc>(0Q<esc>(s0p8.00h8.4v0sb0T
    Font = USB1  1
    Font id = blank
    I am only using Print control = SF450 as the SAPSCRIPT is copied form an existing one, but event he SAP standard text will not print (vanilla) SAPSCRIPT-MICRTEST or SAPSCRIPT_MICRTEST the correct fonts.
    Do you think font pitch may be the issue, we are planning to change this tomorrow to 10.
    Does the escape sequence need to be added as a new print control to the Device type in SPAD or does SF450 HPLJMI still work?
    One other thing from note 94233 I checked the RAW spool file and it does contain

  • MICR Font is not prviewing in PDF.

    Hi Gurus,
    Thanks for your all support.
    I have a requirement for Check printing to Print the line in MICR font.
    I have installed the MICR font in my local machine. I install it in C:\Windows\Font
    It got install these TTF files
    MICRE13B P2 Tryout - MICRT_P2.TTF
    MICRE13B P1 Tryout - MICRT_P1.TTF
    MICRE13B M1 Tryout - MICRT_M1.TTF
    MICRE13B M2 Tryout - MICRT_M2.TTF
    MICRE13B Match Tryout - MICRT13B.TTF
    Then in my template I selected the logic where i declare the check number with the Branch number and made the font any of the above font but when I am previewing the Template it is showing in normal font.
    Could any body please tell me the steps how do I see the MICR fonts when I am previewing the Template in PDF.
    Thanks Advance
    Please let me know the solution as soon as possible
    Thanks
    Nihar

    Hi,
    To Verify that the MICR font has been installed, Please check in the following locations.
    1) “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\fonts”
    “C:\Windows\Fonts”
    2)Edit the xdo.cfg file located in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config”
    <config version="1.0.0" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oxp/config/">
    <!-- Properties -->
    <properties>
    <!-- System level properties -->
    <!-- PLEASE SELECT A VALID TEMPFILE DIRECTORY!!! -->
    <property name="system-temp-dir">c:/Temp</property>
    <!-- PDF compression -->
    <property name="pdf-compression">true</property>
    <!-- PDF security -->
    <property name="pdf-security">false</property>
    <property name="pdf-open-password">user</property>
    <property name="pdf-permissions-password">owner</property>
    <property name="pdf-no-printing">true</property>
    <property name="pdf-no-changing-the-document">true</property>
    </properties>
    <!-- Font setting -->
    <fonts>
    <!-- Windows Wingdings font -->
    <font family="E-13B" style="normal" weight="normal">
    <truetype path="C:\Windows\Fonts\E-13B.ttf" />
    </font>
    </fonts>
    </config>
    You may not be able to find the xdo.cfg file in the location, we can modify the xdo_example.cfg file and save it as the xdo.cfg file by using the code above.
    FINALLY:
    Even after doing the above steps if you are unable to see the MICR font in the preview , Create a ‘Temp’ folder with “T” capitol letters in the root “C:” drive.
    This had solved my prob.
    Please let me know if it helped you.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • MICR Font for printing payroll checks

    We are in the process of changing banks. The new bank has rejected our sample checks because the spacing is too wide. We are supposed to be using MICR font E-13B.
    How do I find out what font we're using? And, how do I change the font?

    I used the free GnuMICR.ttf from this site: http://sandeen.net/GnuMICR/
    The checks were reviewed by a bank and approved.

  • MICR font not displayed in PDF on SUSE Linux Server for Check Writer (XML)

    We are generating checks by running the Check Writer(XML) concurrent request and are not able to see MICR fonts on the Check. We downloaded the free version from IDAutomationSMICR.ttf and the fonts were registered under /usr/local/fonts/micr directory. I registered in APPS and uploaded the file IDAutomationSMICR.ttf. Am I missing any steps. The DBA's have registered the fonts under /usr/local/fonts/micr on SUSE Linux Server . The custom Checks are generated but no luck with the fonts. Please advise. Can I download MICR fonts other than IDAutomation site? Appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Hari

    I use version 11i, so the steps are probably different. Download a font file (gnuMICR for me). Extract it to a location of your choice on your operating system.
    Follow these steps to load the MICR font to the server. (Step 11 was missing in some of the metalink documents in late 2007. I think Jan. 2008 will be OK).
    1.     Log in as XML Publisher Administrator.
    2.     Navigate to Administration->Font Files->Create Font File.
    3.     Fields are Font Name and File. For Font Name choose any descriptive name. File will browse your PC to locate the font file.
    4.     Navigate to Font Mappings->Create Font Mapping Set.
    5.     Mapping name is the name you will give to a set of fonts. [MICR Font]
    6.     Mapping code is the internal name you will give to this set. [MICR]
    7.     Type: 'PDF Form' for PDF templates. 'FO to PDF' for all other template types.
    8.     Create Font Mapping (this allows you to add multiple fonts to a set).
    9.     Font Family is the exact same name you see in Word under Fonts. If you don't use the same name the font will not be picked up at runtime. [GnuMICR]
    10.     Style and weight must also match how you use the font in Windows. Normal and Normal are good defaults. [Normal, Normal]
    11.     DO NOT enter Language or Territory
    12.     Choose a value for Font Type. [Truetype]
    13.     Search for the Font you just created in step 3. [GnuMICR]
    14.     Navigate to Configuration -> FO Processing -> Font Mapping Set. Can also be done at data def and template level under Edit Configuration. Hierarchy is Site-> Data Def -> Template.
    15.     Select your new mapping set.
    16.     Make sure the font is not referenced under File->Properties->Custom in the RTF template file.
    17.     Select a temporary directory on your concurrent processing node (Configuration -> General). This needs to be a private area not shared by other processes, read writeable by the applmgr (owner of the $APPL_TOP file system). It should be fairly large 5 GB or 20x larger than any datafile being used. The fonts will be downloaded here the first time they are used.
    18.     Also at this site level select your font mapping set.
    19.     Upload a template that uses your special font and test using preview.

  • MICR font problem for check printing in ECC6

    Hi All,
    I am working of the re-deployment project. Here we are just migrating the objects from  4.6c to ECC6. I am facing the problem with SAP Script for check printing. It is working fine in 4.6c,but it is not working fine in ECC.
    We are using  HP 8150 printer with TROY magnetic chip and toner. It is working fine for 4.6C, but not for ECC6.
    We are using "A" character for "Transit" and "C" character for "On as" in SAP Script. But during printing preview time it is not formatting it in MICR font.
    I am working with basis team for font code page 4004. I came to know, it is showing character set in 4.6c with spool administrator tab character set, but this tab page does not showing any character set.
    But according basis team, it is existing in ECC. If we will check through SCP it is showing unicode converted code page.
    In 4.6c we are using Zee printer driver with Zee family fonts(ZMICR and ZSIGN) but in ECC we are using MICR_E(SAP provided MICR font) in TROY provided printer driver.
    I have also come through the SAP note 94233 for MICR printing.
    Same problem we are facing with digital signatures. It is not converting digital signature in graphical signature at MICR printer level.
    Any help would be appreciated...........!
    Thanks

    9. Font Family is the exact same name you see in Word under Fonts. If you don't use the same name the font will not be picked up at runtime. GnuMICR
    10. Style and weight must also match how you use the font in Windows. Normal and Normal are good defaults. Normal, Normal
    11. DO NOT enter Language or Territory
    12. Choose a value for Font Type. Truetype
    13. Search for the Font you just created in step 3. GnuMICR
    19. Upload a template that uses your special font and test using preview
    I am able to preview the GnuMICR font in XML Publisher but when i do the payment and format the payment, the GnuMICR font is not getting displayed as displayed in the preview. Please let me know, what i am missing.

    Got it fixed.
    Thanks
    Rakesh

  • New Payment process in R12, MICR font dropped by PREPROCESS

    Hi,
    With the new way of doing Payments in R12, meaning can not use the bursting engine and at the same time CUPS printers, I can't get the MICR font to be on the output .ps file after it goes through the preprocess command of the pasta config file.
    Acroread is not longer available on the AIX version we are using and both pdftops (Xpdf) and pdf2ps(Ghostscript) drops the MICR line at the bottom, the rest of the file is good except the last line.
    I'm sure we are not the first one trying to print checks in R12 :-)
    Is there a nice "how to" that tells how to print AP checks in 12.1.2?
    Thanks for your help
    Patrick

    Hi
    The same package "IBY_FD_EXTRACT_EXT_PUB" works for payment process request status report also. Please add the logic to get the distribution data in this package and you will see the new XML tags in this report also.
    Hope this helps.
