Micro SD

Hi :O)
my computer has an micro sd card slot and when i place my micro sim card in the slot it doesnt go all the way in, yet a green light comes on to say it has detected something, however it will not read it? I am a little nervous if i try and push it in all
the way i am going to damage the card or i wont be able to get it out. I am trying to recover some lost photos etc on the card, do i need an adapter even though it has a built in slot?

Please get this checked with the hardware vendor. the manufacturer/supplier will be able to give details on the compatibility of the hardware with your SD card.

  • Apple Micro-DVI to Video Adapter New MacBook Air

    Hi All,
I am brand new to the Mac world (Been a PC user my entire life). Thought I would take a gamble on a Mac and see how it goes. So far I have been really impressed and happy!
I bought a MacBook Air a few weeks ago. It's a 2.13 GHZ MacBook Air. I would like to connect it to my "old school" standard TV which has S-Video and RCA (Yellow) inputs. I went on the Apple Store and found the Apple Micro-DVI to Video Adapter which says it is designed for a MacBook Air. Previosly though, I saw a discussion on another Mac type site that said this adapter was designed for the old MacBook Air laptops. Does anyone know if this adapter will work on my new MacBook Air? The techspecs call my MacBook Air video output a "MiniDisplay Port". Is this just a new name for Micro-DVI?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Peter

No, there is currently no adapter available to go from mini displayport to a compostie or s-video tv. Monoprice.com sells a mini displayport to hdmi cable. That's the closest there is.
    Your mba doesn't have a mini-dvi port.

  • I have Trend Micro antivirus for Windows 7, but I am being told it is not compatible with Mozilla 9.1, how do I get an older version or adapt?

I am using a lap top, just reinstalled everything, and now have Firefox 9.1 and am being told it is not compatible with my antivirus, Trend Micro Titanium. I am running Windows 7.

  • A few questions to owners of the Zen Micro (pretty bro

I just bought a Micro, and I love it so far . 5GB seems just the right amount and the touch pad is much more to my liking than the iPod's click wheel.
I am, however, worried about the quality of the product overall. It seems like the board is full of problems with the Micro, and that kind of worries me >_<. So here are my questions:
) My unit does not have the text "Back" button; it's an arrow. Does this mean it's one of the new ones, and is hence less prone to the headphone jack/hard dri've problems?
    2) Did you purchase any extra coverage plan? The Best Buy I bought the unit from offers a 3-year plan for $60 (Canadian funds), but I'm not sure if I should get it. How helpful is Creative's support, if helpful at all? I bought the unit in an open-box, after returning one unit which seemed to not be sensiti've to my fingers at all (scared me right off the bat :x).
    Thanks for your help.

This is a support forum. People come here only if they have problems and so it is not indicati've of the overall quality of the product.
FWIW, I've owned my Micro since late January, have used it just about everyday, ~4-5 hours each day, and have had no problems at all. I have one of the early ones which, if you go by what you read here, should have exploded on me by now. As far as I can tell I have all of my limbs and I can still hear the music so everything must be ok.
The sound quality is great, the interface is a bit goofy but it does what I need it to do which is hold a bunch of music and play it.
Don't worry about it, just listen to the tunes and enjoy life.

  • How do i uninstall this latest version? I have trend micro anti virus and it said you are incompatible at this time. you did not give me a choice of opting out so I am opting out of using firefox since my protection is now gone.

Several days ago firefox wanted to upgrade and I refused because trend micro was not supported. Today it automatically made the change. I have trend micro and your message said it would not work. I would think that an antivirus program would be one of the most important features to be able to work. Either fix it or tell me how to roll back to the other version. If you cannot I am dumping firefox and going back to internet explorer. So for now I am closing this window and using IE untill I hear from you

I've had almost every issue you've had.  Finally on Friday the screen blacked out.  It was obviously still charged, since I could hear the message ring, but when I tried to light up the display it didn't light so I was unable to get to it unless I removed the battery.  Then, as soon as the display timed out, I couldn't get it lit up again without removing battery.  I had the same slow movements throughout the display as well as slow text messaging.  Every issue you had other than the alarm clock (that always worked well).
I took it in yesterday and, after over an hour spent there with a 'professional', I still had no answers.  He told me to come home and copy everything from my sd card to my computer, then re-format my card.  Well, my phone didn't even recognize that I had an sd card installed!!  Nor did my computer!
So then I got to experimenting...I removed the card and viola!!!!!!  The phone worked GREAT!  It's never worked so fast!  I then installed my husbands sd card to see if it was my phone's card reader or my card.  Turns out that the phone still worked great with his card installed and it did recognize his card in my phone.  So, my conclusion is that I need a new card.  I couldn't believe the difference in speed of everything!  It's like a brand new phone!
As for the hard reset...I did that over the weekend, before I could get to a verizon store.  It didn't work at all.
I'd say, do the same thing I did and see if that works.  Can't hurt!!!  Please keep me posted.  I'd like to see what you find out
    Good Luck!!!!

  • Zen Micro - transfer lock ups with latest firmwa

I've been trying to transfer mp3 files to my firmware upgraded Zen Micro and find that the transfer slows down and then locks the player after 30-40 files have successfully copied. This happens with ..0 and 2.2.02 firmwares.
The player will then remain in a 'acti've' docked state (black arrows) until the battery is removed. After this lock up tags on the mp3 files are messed up and display Chinese looking characters in the Details View.
This happens on two different computers with USB2.0, one Intel based and the other AMD.
Two questions - anyone know if this is a known issue being worked on for an imminent firmware update? And secondly - is the problem aggravated (or even created) because I am trying to copy files over from a directory tree (mp3's sorted into artist/album/ folders) rather than one flat folder with all mp3s in it (ie. in one single folder).

I'd try transferring fewer files at a time and see if that works.
You might be on to something with copying from a directory tree too. See if transferring the files in smaller groups from one folder helps out.
You can always organize the artists/albums later in Zen Micro Media Explorer or Creative MediaSource.

  • Downloads to micro sd cards

Is it possible to download my playlists from I tunes or my I pod to a micro sd card and if so how do I do it?

I will be checking about the File Allocation Tale versions/types that will be supported with this unit.
What's the exact issue that you're experiencing? What's the brand and capacity of the micro SD card & card reader that you're using? It maybe an issue caused by the software compression of the USB stick that the unit cannot read or it needs a password.

  • Yoga 3 pro : problem connecting to HD TV with micro/mini HDMI to HDMI

I purchased a YOGA 3 PRO (512GB) and couldn't be happier with how light and slim this jewel is. The CPU works fast and overall it's a gret UltraBook.
    BUT
I just can't connect my Yoga 3 Pro to my TV. I purchased this Ultra Book at BEST BUY (this model is apparently an "exclusive" of Best Buy), and since I knew i need to connect it to an external monitor to do real work on photoshop, I also purchased an INSIGNIA micro-HDMI to HDMI cable.
As shown below, my 32" HD TV (one of the latest models from LG / ref. 32LB5800) is recognized by Windows 8.1 and the INTEL HD Graphics 5300 Display driver (which i updated to the latest version 10.18.10.3960), but unfortunately the TV says "NO SIGNAL".
    Link to image
I've tried to connect the Insighnia mini-HDMI to HDMI cable in all 3 HDMI inputs on my TV, but same pathetic result. The first input is HDMI ARC, the second one is regular HDMI and the third one is for mobile devices (HDMI MHL), but all 3 returned the same "NO SIGNAL".
So I figured maybe it was the TV. Thus i plugged my Yoga 3 Pro to a Pioneer Plasma TV that was about 3-4 years old, straight to one of HDMI inputs and same thing, no image. However, Windows 8.1 found the TV and even suggests the ideal resolution.
In both cases the TV model was found by Windows 8.1 and shown under the "Screen Resolution" menu. I selected "Extend these displays" to use the TV as a main monitor, but of course this doesn't help the case.
So i started digging this forum and read a lot of coomplaints about the previous version of the YOGA PRO and that the micro-HDMI plug was poorly designed and the cable connector needed to be "trimmed" a little by 1mm or so to allow it plug fully into the port. So i tried that too, and even though i succesfully removed 1mm of rubber around my Insignia cable connector, it didn't help whatsoever since apparently, the new YOGA 3 PRO doesn't have this issue any longer, its design solved indeed that weakness of its predecessor.
So I'm asking: what the hell is the problem then? it's driving me crazy. I've literrally spent the past 6 hours trying to figure it out, but without any success. This forum has ZERO post about a problem of connection of a YOGA 3 PRO to an HDTV. I know it's a very recent model, but still, I can't believe to be the only one experiencing this issue.
If I don't find a solution quickly I'm afraid I'll have no other choice but to return it. It's unbelievable that both the latest iterations of the LENOVO YOGA PRO are having issues (likely different) connecting to an HD TV using the mini/micor HDMI port.
Not sure if this is a hardware or software problem, but LENOVO better get their act together and fix this stat!
UPDATE: i also noticed that when the cable is plugged into the micro-HDMI port, there's no more sound on the ultrabook. I played a video while the cable was plugged in and NO SOUND. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I would assume connecting the Yoga 3 Pro with the cable into the TV makes it believe that the sound shall be directed towards the TV now, hence the disabled sound on the Ultrabook, even though on the receiving side, the TV still doesn't get any signal from that cable, neither video nor audio.

well it turned out the culprit was the INSIGNIA Micro-HDMI to HDMI cable sold by Best Buy. I tried another cable brand and now it's working just fine! Go figure...

  • New Zen Micro will NOT connect!

    Hello all,
I just bought a Creative Zen Micro player. I installed the software, charged the battery to full and guess what.....the Creative software does not recognize my player as being connected. And yes, I've checked device manager to see if it appears. It does, with the correct name and everything. So what is the problem? I've read other messages on this forum about this problem but it usually seems to be a problem after installing a new version of firmware. But this hasn't been done in my case because I haven't been able to get the stupid thing connected in the first place.
I'm confused as to what to do next. I've tried resetting it by removing the battery and then holding the power button but this hasn't worked either. I first was using a usb hub to connect but after reading that you should avoid this, I tried plugging directly into a usb port on my machine. That also didn't make a difference. I've unistalled the player from the device manager about 5 times and reinstalled it. I've tried reinstalling the creative software/drivers about 5 times and no resolution. I've followed instructions from the Creative website step by step as the proper way to install the software but nothing works. I'm extremely disappointed to bring home a product that does not work out of the box. Oh, and yes I have Windows XP Pro so the OS isn't the issue here. I guess I will just return this useless product unless someone else has another idea that I could try. I'm really at my wits end.
Thanks for listening to this short novel,
    Drawn-a-Blank

The software that will not recognize the player is the Zen Media Explorer and Media Source. I'm not sure what firmware I have and I can't check since I'm not at home. But, I can't install new firmware even if I wanted too since it won't connect. However, I have downloaded the lastest drivers but I don't think I've installed the lasted version of Zen Media Explorer, so I guess that is one other option.

Quite right, but as the OP does not have component or composite connections not important.
To the OP, this does work, but is not the cheapest, and as it appears that Apple no longer sell an SVideo adaptor cable 3rd party it will have to be.

  • How to connect a micro DVI display to a macbook

I want to connect a new 27" apple display to my macbook from 2008.
I can not find a mini DVI to micro DVI or thunderbold adapter. Does this exist or do I need to vonvert from mini DVI to HDMI and the to micro DVI ?

  • Apple Micro-DVI to VGA Adapter for a White Macbook

When I read about the Apple Micro-DVI to VGA Adapter it talks about how it's designed for the MacBook Air and works with MacBook Pro, but will it work with a regular MacBook? My MacBook seems to have the same port necessary...

You're sure that that port does not look like that:

In this case it's a Mini DVI port

  • How do I connect Monitor without HDMI (but DVI-D) to laptop with micro-HDMI?

I have a Samsung NP900x400D-A02US laptop... the video connections are:
    - a micro-HDMI
    - a "monitor port" (which the manual says supports 15 pin D-Sub interface.. or you can connect VGA adapter),
I would like to buy the Dell Ultrasharp u2412M which has 1900x1200 resolution.... BUT it does not have an HDMI port.  It has:
    - a display port
    - VGA input
    - DVI-D with HDCP Input
    - USB ports (but I don't think it's the kind that will allow me to hook up thge monitor to the laptop with USB)
How the heck do I connect the 2 of these... in a way that retains the 1900x1200 resolution?    if I can't find a good way I might have to find another monitor with HDMI....
Thanks so much for your help!   It's a bit frustrating to sort through it all....
    Kathryn

I ended up finding it by item #, because I would have missed it, too.  I wasn't sure if the product image was correct until I saw  this:
Connector on First End: 1 x HDMI (Micro Type D) Male Digital Audio/Video
You got it figured out. Hooks up exactly like you said. HDMI and DVI will result in same picture quality, but as you mentioned, HDMI doesn't carry audio. They are the same, for all intents and purposes, in all other regards.
The DVI cable should have thumbscrews on each end, to help secure it at each end. The Adapter I linked has 'receptors' for the thumb screws, so the connection will be secure. The monitor should have the same 'receptors' for thumb screws. The weakest point of the connection, physically, will be the Micro-HDMI, so just be careful to not put pressure on that connection.
