Micro-SIM Not Detected

Greetings,
Today when I went to switch my PlayBook from Wi-Fi to 4G I got a "Micro-SIM card not detected" icon when I tapped the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar:
It was working the day before. Any idea what would cause this? How can I fix it? I've already tried restarting.

Hello SGoodman,
Have you attempted removing and reinserting your SIM card? If so, do you have access to another SIM card you can test in the device?

  • Q10 Sim not detected problem

    Hi all,
    i have problem with my BlackBerry Q10 device. It "lost" SIM card. Sound confsed, but I got message like: "No SIM card detected" while using GPRS. Restart or even force power off (take off battery) won't fix problem. Only solution which fix this problem is get batery out, remove and place SIM in socket and boot phone. Sometimes, I need to boot sistem like 5 times before it recognize SIM. Same SIM card work fine on other device. Also same happens on my Q10 with different SIM. Anyone have idea how to fix this problem?

    Having the same problem. Purchased my Q10 SIM free from UK. Phone worked fine for 3 months and then for no obvious reason displayed SIM not detected Searching for network.
    Checked my SIM (a micro-sim) in other phones. SIM Worked fine and detected.
    Checked other SIM’s in my Q10. Other SIM’s detected with my Q10.
    Tried again, but the Q10 just won’t detect my SIM.
    Battery out, SIM out, wiped with dry cloth, blown on it, restarted, deleted old apps, deleted new apps, upgraded software, still no luck in recognising my SIM.
    Then for no reason it flashes and asks for my SIM password. Phone works fine for a few hours and then suddenly SIM not detected again.
    Forum research shows others have had the same problem but no answers have come to light. I carried out a security wipe and still no success in detecting the SIM. I gave the SIM another wipe with a soft cloth, this time it was detected but only for 10 minutes.
    Restored back up. Still not working. Sent twitter message to BB support.

    I have occasionally recieved this message and it's usually resolved by a restart.  Very rare though.  What model Z10 do you have and what network are you on?

  • Zen Micro 5gb not detected w/ USB ca

    i just got my new micro and have had no luck getting the usb cable to work.
    ) i installed all of the spyware-bloated software required to copy music over to the player and found that none of them can detect it. not even the removable disk mode works. (and yes my usb port works - i even tested 2 other computers to see if they would pick it up)
    2) after wasting hours of my time going through the forums and reading anything even remotely related to Zen Micro usb problems i finally decided to go into recovery mode and "Reload Firmware."
    3) after plugging the player back in to see if it will be recognized by windows and then reload the firmware, it continues to go undetected. (i ran the "Creative Zen Micro Firmware update" with the micro connected through USB and it does not detect it.)
    *) concerning the quote about the removable dri've feature
    "If you are using a shared computer in school or at the office, and installing Zen Media Explorer is not possible, you can still transfer data files. However, you must enable Zen Micro?s Removable Disk mode when you do this."
    since you do not even need any extra software to use the removable disk feature, besides an OS like WinXP, i'm assuming that either the player or the usb cable it came with is busted. in either case i'm planning to get it exchanged for a set that works.

  • Micro Muvo not detected on comuter.

    Can anyone please help. I bought my Micro muvo N200 back in late October. I am a novice computer user. I had finally downloaded music onto it after tries from "musicmatch". For some reason now, I want to delete songs from my MP3 and add new one's but now my MP3 is not "detected". I've tried everything to the best of my knowledge and nothing..
    Please help.

    Thanks for the response... well the actual mp3 works great. the problem is that my computer or music match do not detect it even after downloading the disc again. I was told to go to control panel, systems, hardware, then to usb... to see if the computer detects it, when i did that there were several usb ports... but there was a particular one where the USB symbol actually had a red "X" going through it as if to say that it's not working. I also tried to download the firmware on the creative website and the response i got was " This device not connected to the USB port" I tried to download unplugged and plugged (the mp3) Thanks for your response and hope to hear from you VERY soon. (tired of dealing with this.. very frustrating )

    Not a great idea buying a SIM card , then downloading the user guide that states a micro-SIM card is needed! Doh!

    Thanks! Didn't ask when I bought it , I bought it on-line and didn't see a reference to the sim card type . Oh well!  Seems like a great device ...but I have a few things to learn yet! Still haven't got a clue how to download and save documents from the internet (eg pfs), the iCloud feature has worked well with contacts, diary, etc but documents ...that's abiother matter at the moment! :-)

    I got it working now!
    I was missing a step in the second suggestion (link posted by DM) to edit the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\U SB and add "EVERYONE." Plus I didn't reboot right away! I guess that would help too. Sorry forgot to do that.

  • Micro SD not detected in Z1 Compact

    Hi,
    I have been using my SD Card in my new Z1 compact for a couple of days. Today I removed it and put it in my old phone to copy some data. After copying the require data, when I put the card in my Z1 Compact, it is not detected, but it is still detected in my old phone and even in my card reader. Any suggestions?

    The older phone is LG Optimus L7. That card was earlier in that phone itself. Then shifted it to my new Z1 Compact and it was working fine until this thing happened.
    I even tried formatting the card, but still the same, it is not detected in the Z1 Compact, but everywhere else.
    Also, I tried my friend's card, and it is getting detected in my Z1 Compact.. 
    I am not able ot understand the problem

  • Micro Zen "not detected." Help plea

    I know this topic has been beaten to death on the board and I've read and reinstalled etc but I'm seriously at a loss.
    I got my Micro Zen player today and set it up. I installed the software and then plugged it in and got that annoying "device has malfunctioned and cannot be detected blah blah blah" message that everyone seems to get. So I uninstalled everything, reinstalled it tried again. No luck. I download the drivers and installed those, no luck, tried to reinstall the drivers on the CD, no luck. My sister got an identical mp3 player so I tried hers with the same result, tried using the cord that came with hers, tried using the CD that came with hers, tried using my digital camera's cord, tried multiple USB ports. I've probably tried a few other things but I've been working at this since this morning. Ick.
    I haven't tested it on another computer, but I don't think that will make a difference. I need it specificlly on this computer (seeing as it's the only windows computer we own, the other is a fi've-year old iMac). And I don't think it's an issue with the player or cord since I'm getting the same result with two different players.
    I'm running a Windows XP OS on a Dell computer that's under six month old.
    Does anyone have an suggestions? <EM>Please?</EM> It would be muchly appreciated. If you feel the inclination, my screen name on AIM is x the lovelyLIZ. I'll have an away message up but if you could just leave a suggestion there I would eternally grateful. Or replying to this post work great too :smileytongue:

    Certainly not everyone! It's a rare error...

    Chance are it's a USB compatibility problem. Check for motherboard BIOS updates, and USB chipset updates. Alternati'vely get a PCI USB2 card and fit that, they aren't expensi've.

    @ajayalmost4u , is this a Playbook with Sprint branding on it? Where did you purchase this Playbook?
    As a warning, if it is a Sprint PlayBook, it is locked to Sprint and not able to be unlocked for use in India, as Sprint uses a different CDMA network technology.
    Your Playbook will work on WiFi, but not on a SIM cellular connection UNLESS you find a SIM with matching Sprint CDMA radio bands.

  • Micro SD not detected in Z1.... What is going on

    Afternoon All,
    First time poster here, hoping someone can help resolve my issue before I go completely crazy with my Z1 and put the thing in the bin or through an industrial shredder
    Got new 64gb micro sd card last week, formatted before putting in my phone, once it was in the phone transferred all my images/videos and music onto it, worked no bother at all. Then sitting at my desk the other day, not even touching my phone, there was a message come up saying something about the sd card being unmounted. When I went to look at my images, and videos, they were all missing.  I wouldn't be bothered, but I have some photos on there that were irreplaceable and will never get back again.
    I have connected the phone to the pc via the cable and its not recognising it either. Is there anything at all that can be done to get my pics back.
    Be really grateful for any useful advice.

    microSD cards are not that trustful memory cards, just accept that. (and backup sensitive data to other external storage device)
    It's probably their size. They can get corrupt anytimewithout any reason.
    I'd a Sandisk 32GB card, and after 2 1/2 years I experience that filecommander didn't start, and that the walkman app didn't play.
    So I take out the microSD and put it in my Linux computer. The mounting proces takes longer then usual, but after say 10 seconds i see the data on it, but couldn't move files. Using Gparted to repair took a very long time and didn't finish.
    So i was happy that I'd a backup of all microSD data on a external hardrive.
    I bought a new microSD (thistime Kingston) 32 GB and copied all data with Linux computer from erternal harddrive to microSD.
    After that insert the microSD in the ExperiaZ1 and everything is working again.
    Advise: when buying a microSD buy one with manufactorer stamp/logo on it.
    Most microSD cards without manufactorer logo on it are faulty microSD cards from the back of the factory and for a cheap price (for example a corrupt 32Gig for sale as a good 16Gig.).
    By the way: it's always best to format a storage device on the device where you use it (if you only use it on one device), has to do with preferred formatting/cluster settings. (but i don't know if fat / ntfs has that option compared to reiser/ext3,4/btfs, and so on.

    Did you try more than one SIM ? Borrow from your friends / family members and see if other SIMs are getting detected. If yes, get your SIM replaced thru' your Operator.. If the problem is with all SIMs, get the phone inspected at Nokia Care for any Hardware issue ...

    Hi, I have been having a heap of trouble getting my microphot to talk to the software. I had all the common issues with demo shield, itunes reinstalled Adobe products uninstalled etc,.     Do #3 and #5:
    3. Open Task Manager, click on processes, look for the process WDFMGR.EXE. If its not listed then, clicl Start > Run, and type CMD. In the command prompt window type SC START UMWDF. Check Task Manager and see if this process is listed and try WMP0 again.
    5. Start REGEDIT and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB. Right click the USB string and select Permissions. Make sure 'Administrator' and 'Everyone' have 'Allowed' ticked for Full Control permission. If you do not have 'Everyone' then click the Add button, add the username, and then give it Full Control.Message Edited by DM on 0-4-2006 07:47 PM
