Micro Sim Purchase for Use in Italy

Is it possible to purchase a microsim (Vodafone or tre(3)) for use in Italy here in the USA prior to travelling there? Why not purchase over the internet like everything else. Could pay for service and provide necessary info. Would save the hassle of finding a kiosk or shop there.

The thing is i know that in the US Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G Verizon goes without any slot for micro-sim. So i won`t be able to use 3g abroad.
In Canada store they don`t give no required carrier.Does it mean that Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G from there has a micro-sim slot and is ok for using 3g worldwide with local carrier?

That's a wonderful question, ssmiley67. The iPhone 5s comes unlock for international use. Many of our LTE devices are unlocked for international purposes and work upon inserting the international SIM in the device.

4G Micro SIM Purchase

I have recently purchased an unlocked 3rd generation Ipad in the UK. I would like to purchase an international micro SIM as I work in Japan. However All Ipads in Japan are locked to service provider so no chance to buy one here.
I have seen sims on the internet but all seem to be for 3g. So 2 questions is there a 4g SIM available for purchase on the internet which will connect in Japan. Second question if I buy a 3G SIM say from UK Vodafone which shares with Softbank in Japan will it work correctly on the 4G Ipad.

I've just bought an ipad2 : WIFI 3G (from a Verizon store in the US) to use in another country but at my surprise there was no slot to insert the micro SIM ! Can anyone help me with this ?

Only posting because I think some clarification is needed. What they are both getting at is three models were made for the iPad2.
Wifi only:
Has an all metal back and can only get access from wifi hotspots.
AT&T:
This model has a little black plastic strip on the back at the top for better antenna signal strength. It also has a sim card because it uses a technology that requires sims. This slot is located on the side towards the top.
Verizon:
This model also has the black plastic bit but it lacks the sim slot because Verizons technology doesn't need sims.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon model are locked to their respective carriers, so to answer your question, yes you have to use verizon for any 3G access, (you can add a contractless plan from the iPad itself in the settings). This also means that even if you had an AT&T iPad you would have to use an AT&T sim. There are ways around this with the AT&T model, though they usually involve messing with the firmware by jailbreaking.

Could be a simple question but I can't find the answer: I bought a factory-unlocked iPhone 4s (from Apple) for use while traveling abroad (mainly China). I already have a Chinese SIM card to use while I'm China. I just got the iPhone delivered to me in the US and I want to get it set up and tested before I travel back to China.
But I'm a little confused about where I can get a micro SIM card in the US to pop into the phone for a couple of days just to get it set up and running (I don't need a lot of time on the card).

Hi, thanks for your answer. I just got off the phone trying to clarify this with AT&T. They tell me that they also have something called a "Go" card that I can get for my (factory-unlocked) iPhone that works without a plan. But, as you pointed out regarding the T-mobile card, it sounds as if I don't get full service on the iPhone. They told me that I won't be ablet to browse the web via the card, only when I'm connected via Wi Fi.
I am headed out to try to find a card today and will update this thread with any further discoveries.

Video format for use in Italy?

WIth Premiere CS2, I made a 1 hour DVD slide show, with music, for a friend. She wants a copy for her friends in a very small town in Italy. Their video standard is PAL. However, if I make a PAL DVD, I will not be able to check if it works right, which is always a concern with my iffy DVD burner. I am in California. and all I have is an NTSC format TV and DVD player.
Not having much experience beyond 3 mins videos for you tube, I figured I could make a version just for using on a computer, such as .avi, .wmv, etc. Does anyone have any idea what formats or what settings I should use?
Pixel Aspect Ratio has me the most confused. If I use "same as project", presumeably NTSC, will it play okay on overseas computer screens?

There are SIM cutters, but first ask your carrier if they can provide a nano-SIM. You will still keep the same phone number, and it won't affect he contract.

Going to Germany August 28th and want to buy a micro-sim card/data plan for the IPAD that works in Germany before I go. Problem is I don't speak any German and both the Simyo and Blau sites are in German. Don't want to buy the wrong thing. Does anyone know of a site in English where I can order this before I go? You don't. iPhone stores no data on a sim card.
See if your carrier can do this for you. Some have machines, in store, that can do this.
