  • Sound not working Notebook Envy 15 TS windows 8 and windows 8.1 - problem continues

    Hello,
    My computer sound stopped again.
    I posted previously:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Sound-not-working-Notebook-Envy-15-TS-windo...
After I`ve followed David`s  steps my computer`s sound started working again. But it didn`t last. The sound stopped working just one day after.
I did the procedure again, and it worked. But just for a few hours.
The second time I reinstalled the IDT codec I noticed at the device manager that there is no conflict at the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
Instead, the conflict appear in another item of the sound, video and game controllers topic: high definition audio device.
Is there another codec I should reinstall?
    Could anyone help me?

  • Touch not working on ENVY TS laptop since Windows 10 install

OK, I've just updated a perfectly working Windows 8.1 Envy touchscreen laptop to Windows 10 and my touch input has ceased working, Windows 10 tells me "no touch or pen input is available for this display". Given this is a relatively recent laptop, bought just over a year ago, I'd rather expect it to have drivers that work with Windows 10. Suggestions anyone?

Hi, I have upgraded my HP envy Touchsmart 15" (15-j013ea) to windows 10 as well and am having a similar issue to you. Initially the touchscreen was working well following upgrade from 8.1 to 10. I then did a clean install of 10 onto a new SSD.  The touchscreen is not showing up under HID devices in device manager, but seems to be working as a mouse. I can touch the screen to move the cursor, double click, but scrolling does not work properly. Basically it thinks it's a mouse! Like you - windows says "no pen or touch input available" I have trawled the web to try and find decent drivers, but to no avail. Come on HP - sort yourselves out. These laptops are designed for touchsceen and some working drivers would be greatly appreciated. Matthew

  • HDMI PORT NOT WORKING HP ENVY ULTRABOOK 4

I have recently updated to Windows 8.1 and my HDMI Output is no longer working. I never had issues before.  When hitting F4 and choosing duplicate displays, my computer only recognizes itself(although it displays options for duplicate, extended, etc) and the tv monitor displays "no signal".   I have reinstalled the graphics drivers using HP Recovery Manager and then followed through with all the HP and Windows updates available. I never had an issue with the port prior to the update and have also tried various chords/multiple monitors/tvs. In addition I installed the Intel Graphics Driver Update Utility App and checked for updates; installing any available updates still with no progress. Currently my computer is running Intel Graphics HD 4000. Also I have checked that all resolution aspects match up with my tv and the computer's display so that shouldn't be an issue. Any solutions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • TouchPad Not Working on Envy 15t-j100 Quad Edition

The scrolling feature on my laptops touchpad has stopped working, along with the four finger flick gesture. This has happened several times, and I cannot remember how I resolved it before. What can I do to get this working again, and how can I keep this from occuring again in the future?

    Hi
    Your manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03943414.pdf
Unfortunately you can't upgrade graphic. NVIDIA is soldered on to the system board. Moreover there are no compatible boards with GTX 900M listed even if you're planning to change out the whole board.

  • Sound Not Working for ENVY dv6 after recent updates

Not sure if it was the most recent updates that did it or if it was just random, but...my sound has stopped working. OCCASIONALLY right after I restart, I can get the sound to work for a few minutes, but that's about it.  (I'm running Windows 8.1, by the way.)
I've tried the troubleshooter and it claims there's no issue. Sound card is there and working as far as I can tell; it's all enabled. I'm not muted or anything quite that trivial. I would try uninstalling an update, but I'm not sure that would even help. Prior to the update, my sound had started becoming distorted at time and a little crackly. Nothing too drastic or often, so I wasn't too bothered. Obviously, I am bothered by a complete lack of sound.
I have no idea whether or not headphones work still. I haven't been able to get the speakers working long enough to try them. "Fixit" claims it won't work with my computer, so I can't try that alternate troublershooter.
I've read every message board imaginable and updated and re-updated all my drivers. Not the issue. I have no idea what's wrong and no idea how to fix it, but it needs to be fixed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • USB 3.0 port not working in Envy 17

I've had an Envy 17 VX197AV running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for about a year and a half. One of the reasons I got it over others was for the 3.0 port but I've never once gotten it to work. I'm pretty sure I've postedd about this problem before without any success but I just reinstalled Windows so I thought I'd give it another try.
I'm using a Seagate GoFlex usb 3.0 2tb external hdd with the correct 3.0 cable. I installed the NEC driver included with the drive successfully and have a 3.0 host and hub listing in the device manager. When plugging it into the port, nothing happens at all; it doesn't even work as a 2.0 device. It works with every other 2.0 port.

    Hey Fireeater,
I found the Forum Post about this subject - it was actually solved in the following way:
Member found a zip installation file (not the .exe installation file from HP).  The zip file was packed with the relevant ini and msi files packed inside that are required for the USB 3.0 installation.  The thread is between Expert Pankay and member mozqtto, and you did partitcipate.
Re: Envy 17 USB3.0 driver problem
The same solution may work for your situation.  I will not post a site for download - there might be several available and such is a personal preference.
I might be off-target here -- I am unable to see your graphic; it is either awaiting approval or is not showing up on my screen for other reasons.

  • Sound not working Notebook Envy 15 TS windows 8 and windows 8.1

    Hi
My notebook Envy 15 TS (product number C8P48AV) audio stopped working.
Since I got it it happend 3 times.
First was after 1 week of usage. After some days it cames back again..
Then I upgraded to windows 8.1 and it stopped again..
Last night, some days after the sound stopped the 2nd time, it started working again.
    But today it stopped again.
I`m not sure how to solve it.
On audion settins it says that audio is working well.
If I`m on a call in Skype the microfone works, but I can`t hear anything.

    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi Luiz,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63555.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the following link.
    Chipset Driver - Windows 8.1
When the reinstallation has completed, turn off the notebook by holding down the Shift key as you click shut down to temporarily prevent a hybrid boot.  When done, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
    Regards,

  • SimplePass not working - HP ENVY dv7-7202tx Notebook

Hi - I upgraded my PC to windows 8.1 sometime back and had no issue with simplepass intially. I then suddenly could not swipe my finger and log in.
I read through some of the conversations are realised others had an issue too, and saw some suggestions to resolve it and followed one and was able to download an updated driver and it was working properly until last week when again it stopped working.
I am disappointed that HP has NOT resolved what I would think should have been done long back given that people have been complaining about the issue since early 2013 (or before).
I am at a loss as to what to do because, I have depended on using this for lots of my web-sites etc. (keeping my password secure) but now I cannot use my finger print recognition to do so and have to type my master password each time.
I bought this computer for the ease of managing my security but HP has made me loose confidence in their products given the battle I am facing.
I am worried about installing any updated software as one solution suggests because I am not sure it will solve the problem without deleting my exiting password data files etc.
HP team can you advise and if possible contact me directly to resolve this issue.
I have chosen to discuss this pubically because I feel HP has slept over what I think is a issue they have NOT delt with more proactively in reaching out to loyal customers like myself.
    Thanks,

  • Hp dv6t select edition headphones not working after upgrading to windows 8.1

So I upgraded to windows 8.1 from 7 and now when I plug in my earphones there is no audio. I can still hear something when I just use the laptop speakers, just not with earphones. I also don't see the beats audio program on my laptop anymore or the hp support assisstant.

    Hi @parjinder82 ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue of the Beats Audio not working correctly since you did the update for Windows 8.1 on your HP ENVY dv6t-7200 Notebook. Here is a document to check some settings that might be and issue with the software.
Sometimes the updates have not completely finish. I recommend restarting the Notebook as if there are some updates that have not gone through this will finish them.
You could check what is installed by checking here:
    1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
    2. Select Playback devices
    3. Right click Speakers
    4. Enable it and set as Default
    5. Click Apply/Ok
You might benefit from this document on Windows updates and sound issues.

  • HT3669 HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Version 3.2.1 does not work on iMac 20-inch, Mid 2007. Only recognizes scanner not USB printer.

HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Version 3.2.1 does not work on iMac 20-inch, Mid 2007. Only recognizes scanner not USB printer.
I would like to print via the USB connection instead of wireless (the wireless does work, and the scanner works via USB).
I tried connecting the printer directly (via USB) to my MacBook Pro laptop and it worked just fine.
How can I make this printer work on my iMac?
I spent 4 hours on the phone with HP and we did every combination of installation of drivers ad nausum and their bottom line is that it is a Mac problem.
Any help would be appreciated. Will be sending this printer back to Amazon if I can't make it work on the USB.
I am open to questions or suggestions
    Thanks,
    Chet

After 4 hours on the phone with HP and another hour with Apple (Mavericks support) no real solution other than check everything (removed everything from Login Items, removed all HP software anywhere in the system reboot, reinstall printer) then when nothing worked for the 4500, did an OS Reinstall (boot with CMD+R).
The Mavericks support group did open an incident (# 542875311) and I will update it when I figure out how to find it on the system.
My feel is that the base problem is that somewhere between the HP-Inkjet-SW-OSX-Mavericks_v12.34.49-2 package and the Apple HP Printer software in the Library (version 2.16.1) the app for printing via the USP Port just does not get installed for the mid 2007 20 inch iMac. The scanner is recognized on the USB Port and the Printer works fine on Wi-Fi. I have too many devices to burden my home network with anothe device. Also, every time I put any HP Printer on Wi-Fi, my router (Netgear N600 WNDR3400 running 12 to 20 devices depending on who is home) gets wonky (but that's anothe story...).
Additionally, when I attach the HP Envy 4500 to my MacBook Pro (2010) it works perfect - print and scan via the USB prot and both functions show in the System Preferences - Printers and Scanners just as expected and just as the 3050 does.

  • HP ENVY 15z-j100 usb ports not working

A couple of days ago the usb ports on the right side of the laptop stopt working correct.
They keep disconnecting devices and reconnecting them. After a while they stop working at all.
Have anyone else encounter the same problem?
I`ve been looking for a solution but nothing so far.

    Hi Grimweeper,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY 15z-j100 Notebook and USB not working correctly. Here is a link to troubleshoot USB connections.
I would uninstall everything listed in the Universal serial bus controllers list. Please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices before uninstalling Universal serial bus controllers. Restart your computer and then insert the USB device.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
