Microphone and Webcam not working/Webcam not recognized by YouCam

Hello,
      I have a dv7-6c95dx and my YouCam  program tells me that it does not recognize my integrated webcam. I have read all of the webcam forums on this site and clicked on all of the links people have posted in the forums. I have uninstalled the CyberLink YouCam program and it still comes up with the same messages. The webcam also does not show up in my device manager. The microphone is malfunction as well, it will not work any any programs including skype.
     I have heard that the webcam can come unplugged internally, will that also cause the microphone to stop working? I have run out of options and I do not want to pay anyone to fix it. I would appreciate any advice on this subject.

Hi DillOrNoDill,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and sound and microphone issues and Webcam not working correctly. I would be happy to assist if needed. Try these steps first.
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok
You could also try Microsoft troubleshooter located on your Notebook.
Here is a document on WebCam troubleshooting. The Webcam will be listed in your device manager under Imaging devices. You should be able to click the action button and scan for new hardware.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

  • Microphone and webcam not working on Yoga S1 after windows 10 update

    I have to admit I never tried the webcam since I got my Yoga which had win 8.1 originally installed on it, but with the update to windows 10, I'm trying more things out. I did install the camera driver from http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-yoga?c=1  but no luck.I dont even see any kind of camera in device manager. The camera app just says "something is wrong" amd closes. I tried Skype and it also could not detect a working webcam. After installing  windows 10, I did try Cortina and it had me go into microphone setup and it was working. However after subsequent updates, it no longer works. The micropphone levels are ll the way 100%, but when I try to setup the mic, I never see the level meters move when trying the speech test dictation,. Ive installed the Conexant drivers in the the above link, and also uninstalled them and tried to go back to what are the default microsoft drivers, neither seem to wor

    Hey 22d05da3,
    Hey I see that you're having an issue with the webcam and microphone.
    This could be a hardware issue knowing both of these features are in the same module
    But first,
    Can you go to device manager then go under the section that says imaging devices and tell me if the webcam shows up under there. Also, check and see if there's any type of exclamation mark next to it.
    Next, Go to the sound controllers section also and let me know if you can see the microphone underneath that.
    Now, these two don't have drivers to install from the website. What you can do is uninstall these drivers from the device manager then restart your Notebook. It should install the drivers after you restart.
    Also, if this doesn't work you can do a driver recover from the software. Here is a document to show you how to do that.
    http://goo.gl/XjqLp
    Go down to the section that says "Reinstall the original webcam program that came with your computer".
    If any other issues come up before this like you can't find the drivers in the device manager. Go to the section on that document that says " Webcam is not listed in the device manager ".

  • Internal microphone and Webcam not working

    Ive had my laptop for about 2years, i have a Toshiba Sattelite L840
    Ive used skype to call and webcam but for some reason for the past week i havent been able to use it.
    I checked my drivers installed, the Audio Input and Output have disappeared and so has imaging devices.
    If anyone could help would be much appreciated, There are no hidden devices under the recording sound tabs, my webcam still lights up but it does not show images.
    Ive also realised that my firewall is down, i click on the use recommended setting but it doesnt do anything
    Please contact me if you know anything about fixing these problems

    I don't actually have any information on that model because that wasn't sold here in the US. This is the Toshiba USA forum, and I believe that's from Toshiba Australia. You should contact them.

  • DV9910US Audio and webcam not working.

    Hello, I have worked for over a month on trying to restore a HP DV9910us. I even ordered the recovery CD from HP.  I can not get the audio working or the webcam working. I have done extensive research online and tried every solution I found. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Hello robc1042.  I understand you're having some issues getting your audio and webcam to work.
    You said that you've tried numerous solutions.  Would you mind giving a quick list of the sorts of solutions you have tried?  This will be helpful as I wouldn't want to suggest solutions you've already attempted.
    You may even want to take a look at this thread.  I posted this a little while back but it covers the solutions for a webcam not being detected.  You may find it helpful.
    To begin I would like to see if either the webcam or sound card is listed in Device Manager.  Try the following.
    Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.
    Expand the "Imaging Devices," "Sound, video, and game controllers," and "Other Devices" sections.
    List what you see.
    I will await your reply.  I hope you have a great day!
    Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
    Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

    2nd Gen iPad Mini stopped working yesterday.  Won't startup under and configuration and is not recognized by my iMac.  I believe it upgraded itself to iOS 8 (????)

    Hey Kenneth,
    So it sounds as if your iPad is not responding at all when you try to turn it on, is that correct? If so, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
    If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
    If you get it to start up and it is still not recognized by iTunes on your Mac, use the steps in this article to troubleshoot that issue -
    If you don't see your connected device in iTunes for Mac - Apple Support
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Happy computing,

    Good afternoon, my ipod touch (4th Gen) will not power up and is not recognized by my computer anymore. I have attempted to restore but that did not work. I have also charged for several hours. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • My shuffle will not connect and is not recognized anywhere

    I have had my shuffle for quite awhile... just after they came out with them. Everything has been going fine with it until about a week ago I connected to update it and a window popped up that said "Your iPod may be corrupt...". Since then I have not been able to connect my shuffle to my computer, it will not charge, and is not recognized by any computer. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it, if not I guess its time to get a new iPod. Thanks!
      Windows XP

    A good news/bad news post...
    I had the same problem, with my shuffle (original
    512k). I couldn't run the reset utility because the
    computer (imac) wouldn't even recognize that it was
    connected. I pretty much gave up on it, but last
    night I plugged it into the USB port to try it one
    last time - nothing happened. But I forgot to pull
    it out when I shut down and this morning while I was
    working suddenly the shuffle was recognized by the
    computer (actually a box came up saying the device
    needs to be initialized or something). I quickly ran
    the reset utility, the shuffle was recognized, itunes
    launched and I was able to add music. I was so
    excited I decided to share the news with the forum,
    but while typing this very message the shuffle
    disappeared from the desktop and I got a message
    saying the device was removed improperly. Now the
    bad news... if I plug in the shuffle it is once again
    unrecognized by the computer. But at least I got
    some tunes back on it, until I buy a replacement! And
    it did charge...

    what will i do with my ipad 2 ios 5.0.1 stuck on white apple logo and itunes not recognized it. i'll always try to press and hold both the home botton and sleep/wake button but nothings happen.

    if that dose not work then you can always put it into DFU mode by connecting to your computer and holding down the home button and sleep/wake button for excatly 10 seconds and then relesing the sleep/wake button and keep holding down the homebutton till iTunes tells you it has detected an iPad in recovery mode then just do a restore

  • My daughters ipod touch is disabled because of a wrong passcode.  I have tried many times to log onto to Itunes and it will not help without a passcode and is not recognizing the itouch as a device, but the USB is functional.  Do I need Itunes to fix this

    My daughters ipod touch has been disabled because of a wrong passcode.  After 2 days of trying to get into Itunes, it will not help without a passcode and is not recognizing it as a device even though the computer is recognizing the USB.  I know I have to do a complete recovery, but can I do this without Itunes (or Icloud)?

    You cannot do this without itunes on your computer

    2nd gen iPod touch only displays start-up apple icon, and is not recognized by iTunes - what to do?

    Thanks, but I've checked those articles out already. I drained the battery and finally got the needs charge (battery w/red line + arrow pointing to a charging bolt), I plugged the USB into the laptop and held down the start key +home key until I saw the apple logo. However, it still was not recognized by itunes. It's been plugged in for over an hour now and the screen is cycling apple logo/low battery (battery w/red line)/and black screen.

  • Access to microphone and webcam

    Hi,
    I need to access to microphone and webcam with Alchemy,
    writing c/c++ code.
    I know that is possible in ActionScript using classes Camera
    (flash.media.Camera) e Microphone (flash.media.Microphone), but is
    it possible also in Alchemy?
    Can you help me?
    Thanks in advance,
    Amsicora

    @pratfull
    It sounds like you're porting an existing C application.
    At a high level you need to modify the codebase so it plays
    nicely in the Flash sandbox. Remember, the end result of your
    Alchemy project is a Flash application, so you'll need to remove
    all platform-specific code.
    This means eliminating your application's dependence on the
    Windows API. Rewrite any dependencies to access system resources in
    a flash-friendly way.
    If StartCamera is the only function that depends on the
    Windows API, then remove windows.h and rewrite the body of that
    function. To provide the necessary camera functionality you could
    call out to a static AS3 method or write the logic in C. (See
    snippet below.)
    @amsicora
    The following code creates a ByteArray. You could use a
    similar approach to get a reference to Camera.
    // Create a ByteArray in C
    AS3_Val buffer_NS = AS3_String("flash.utils");
    AS3_Val buffer_class = AS3_NSGetS(buffer_NS, "ByteArray");
    AS3_Val buffer_array = AS3_New(buffer_class, AS3_Array(""));
    AS3_Release(buffer_NS);
    AS3_Release(buffer_class);

    Starting with Hyper-V in Windows Server 2012 R2, Hyper-V can now redirect local resources to a virtual machine session through Virtual Machine Connection tool. The enhanced session mode connection uses a Remote Desktop Connection session via the virtual

    Hi,
    nswint, it seems that we have to do as you described.
    Corey, I have the remote desktop client installed on a iPad Air, I can input capital letters via the on-screen keyboard within the remote desktop session that we can activate by a tap on the keyboard icon in the connection bar.
    Thanks.
