Microphone built into Compaq Monitor Not Working

Hey guys, I have a microphone built into my old Compaq monitor which I use with my Mini. The monitor is plugged in and the Microphone is plugged in through the Line In, but it doesn't seem to be recognized. It does not work in Mac OSX or Windows. Any ideas? Please help ASAP.

It's probable that the microphone simply doesn't generate the necessary voltage to match the mini's audio input. The mini's audio in is 'line level' meaning that for a mic to work it has to be of an amplified variety.
You might try a device such as the Griffin iMic, which would allow lower-level devices to work with the mini. (http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/)

My built in speakers are not working.
The speaker logo is not highlighted (grey not Black) and when in sound options  "output" pane only displays the digital out for 'optical' - ie, the internal speakers dont register (headphone socket works)
    Any ideas?

    1. If red light is visible in the headphone port, plug the headphone into and out of the port 5 or 6 times
to flip the microswitch inside the port. Hopefully that will make the mode revert back to analog from digital.

  • Help! Built in features/hints not working flash cs6. Need fix ASAP

Loads of built in features are not working for me in Flash CS6. When I was using CS4 they did, now they aren't. I will give two examples. Say for example I am writing code in the actions window and I type "green_btn." in regards to the name of a button instance, what usually happens when I hit the "." immediately after "green_btn" a menu will pop up showing me every option I can pick, like green_btn.addEventListener() etc etc. There is usually a menu that comes up, but for me there is no menu. I have also created a button symbol, placed an instance of it on the stage, named the instance and tried it again (cs6 is supposed to recognize the "_btn" automatically and make the menu come up even if there is no button created, but I decided to create one just in case), and no menu pops up, still . Something is wrong here, it used to work for me when I had CS4 installed. Another example is if I am in the actions window again, and I type in a function like trace(); for example, you are supposed to be able to put your cursor infront of it, or highlight it and hit F1 and it will take you directly to the help page for that function. This does not happen as well. As I go on and on I seem to keep stumbling across all these built in features for convenience that are not working. And I know 100% that they are supposed to be, I am actually in a class right now for flash and I watch demo videos where it works perfectly. What is going on with mine? I have checked every possible preference and option, I have everything and I mean EVERYTHING up to date with the most current versions. I'm stuck, and I am getting really pissed off to be blunt, I need to fix this ASAP because it is going to affect my studies which are currently ongoing, I have deadlines to  meet and I am dicking around trying to fix this. PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! Any suggestions and solution will be greatly appreciated on my behalf. If anyone helps me fix this I'll kiss you!!!!!!!!

I increased the cache from 800 to 5000, is that sufficient?
The .fla is saved to my harddrive
still no code hinting. I also unchecked and rechecked the code hinting, and even did a reboot on my comp and still nothing.
everything is updated, EVERYTHING, to the most current version available. I updated everything possible through the "Adobe Help Manager" and also through the help menu within the programs themselves; Help->Updates. I made slight progress with the help issue, in general settings withing the "Adobe Help Manager" I changed it to display local help only. So now when I initiate help by either right clicking, and then going to "view help" in the pop-up menu, or by hitting "FN+F1" (hp laptop) it brings up the flash_reference.pdf but it does not go directly to the function selected as it's supposed to. So maybe that isn't even progress...
I watched the demo video for the course I am in, and it shows our instructor put the cursor immediately infront of trace(); (within the actions window) and go to help and it goes directly to the help section on trace, and then he also highlights trace(); and goes to view help and it does the same thing.
I am also in touch with him (its an online course) to see if he can figure out it, and I am still waiting to hear back from him, but no one seems to know. I even contacted ADOBE today and got passed on to 3 different people only to be given the toll free 800 number because no one knows how to fix it.

  • Satellite M645-S4050: built in camera does not work correctly

My built in camera does not work correctly.
It does not have any kind of effect on and it captures pictures and videos as if some kind of thermal camera was on.
Also some videos I load up on youtube look like this.
I have been researching for an answer but can't find it, please help me.

All you can do is to test it with latest webcam driver.
Remove preinstalled camera software and install latest version offered on Toshiba download page.
If the same happen again visit nearest Toshiba service and show them how it looks like. Maybe the cam must be exchanged.
In the past I have used several Toshiba laptops with built in cam but I have never saw something lke this.

  • Built-in microphone on HP Pavilion DV6500 not working in Windows 8

    Hello,
I would like to know why my built-in microphone does not work after I installed Windows 8 Pro 32-bit on my HP.
Please note that before on Windows 7 the microphone did worked.

    Thank you!

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g4-2020tx Notebook and Bluetooth not working. Here are some links that might help.  I would check to make sure Bluetooth is on. It shows you how to do that under Connecting Bluetooth. A device such as computer might need to have the Discovery setting turned on. To turn on Discovery in Windows 8, from the Start screen, type Change Bluetooth to open the Search charm, and then select Change Bluetooth settings from the search results.  Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • MEGA PC 651 - VGA monitor not working ?

    Hi, please help!
I recently recieved a MEGA PC 861 but can't get the VGA monitor to work.
When I plug the monitor into the VGA port and boot up I get a 'no signal' message on the monitor.
However, If I plug the monitor into the port on the graphics card I can see the boot up screen and access 'set up' for the BIOS and CMOS. If I let the PC boot up fully the monitor gets a signal right up until Windows XP has booted and then it vanishes. Once the Windows fanfare plays when I would expect to see the standard windows screen the monitor switches off and loses signal. I can switch it back on again manually, but get the 'no signal' message as before.
Any help would be appreciated as we really want to play with our new toy !
    Thanks
    Heidi

Similar to the problem heieup was having.
I recently built a system using the Mega 180.  Although when I turn on the system, a boot screen will not even appear.  The monitor simply does not recieve a signal (and I'm certain its not the monitor because the monitor has been tested and worked fine on other computers and other monitors have the same response on the system - no signal).  Just like heieup, I've tried both Primary and Secondary VGA onboard video ports, both having the same affect.  A lot of what has been posted on the board I can't test because I have'nt even had the opportunity to install the WinXP yet.  I just built it about 2 weeks ago, and still trying to figure out what is causing this.  Any possible solutions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Internal microphone in MacBook Pro 15" not working after upgrade to Yosemite

    Hello
This issue is similar to iMac's problem with the internal microphone not working in FaceTime. In sound preferences, I have the internal microphone set for input. In FacetTme, I have Video->Microphone->Internal Microphone selected. There is no corresponding menu item for Audio (perhaps this is the problem? ). When I make a Facetime video call, I can hear the recipient, but they cannot hear me.
When I go into the Sound setting->Input, select Internal Microphone and test it (like record something from Photo Booth), the bars (input level) remain greyed-out.

  • Built in isight camera not working with flash

My built in isight camera on my macbook works just fine in photobooth and in skype or ichat.. but just in the past week or so, it will not work when im on websites that use flash. I've seen some threads that say that I need to go into settings and make sure that the camera chosen is the USB. When i go into flash settings, the only options are Google1, Google2, or Built in isight. It doesn't work with any of them. Does anyone have any idea how I can make it work again?

Your problem is not the same as that posted by the OP, and your system info shows you using Mac OS X (10.5.6).
For your symptoms with this system, I suggest you do the following:
    (1) Apply the 10.5.8 Combo Update using the following process:
      • Backup your Mac and turn off Time Machine
      • Disconnect peripherals and restart Mac
      • Use Disk Utility to repair permissions
      • Download and install
       http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
      • Repair permissions again immediately following the restart that finishes the update.
      • Test whether Flash works for you now.
(• Turn Time Machine on later when you are satisfied that the update worked.)
    (2) After applying the 10.5.8 Combo, if you are still having problems, download and install the latest Flash player compatible with your system:
      http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
Also check any other third-party browser plugins or other add ons. Apply all available updates and uninstall any third-party items that are known to be incompatible with your system.
