    How do I play audio from my headphone jack and internal speakers at the same time ? I have a splitter for my audio jack so that when i connect up my second monitor I can have it so it also plays audio as well as anything else i have connected into the jack but how do i let the internal speakers emit sound at the same time?

    Hello,
    If you mean the internal speakers in your Mac, you can't play audio through them at the same time you have anything plugged into the headphone jack. When you plug something into the headphone jack, it disconnects the internal speakers.

  • Simultanious audio output from both mini Displayport and Audio Output port?

    Hey guys,
    I was wondering if someone who already has audio+video output through the mini displayport set up can be so kind and answer the following questions for me:
    Can audio be output simultaniously from 3.5mm audio port as well as the mini displayport? That is, if I output both video and audio to my reciever through the 2010 iMac's mini Diplayport, can i use the standard audio output port to provide line input for a further set of (active) speakers (analog would be fine)?
    In the case both outputs CANNOT work simultaniously, which one will work if i have both plugged in? If the mini displayport has higher rank (or priority or what whatever i should call the one that works when both outputs are plugged in), and the reciever it is plugged into is switched off, will audio automatically switch to the standard audio port? Same question goes if the standard audio output port has higher rank/priority?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Just in case you are wondering why the heck i would wanna do that, here's some background:
    I am planning on setting up my new 27' iMac on a 'work' desk in my bedroom, where i can comfortably sit and work on the computer as well as use the beautiful screen as my bedroom TV. Since i also wanna use my mac for all my living room multimedia needs (movies, tv shows, music, etc), i plan on running a long (15m) audio+video HDMI cable all the way up to my reciever in my living room. Furthermore, i am also planning on running a USB cable to the living room (through something of this sort: http://www.coolgear.com/images/171632pro.jpg) plugged in to a usb hub mainly for mouse/keyboard availability in the living room, but also for other things such as external hard drives and so on. The problem is that, apart from having my audio play in the living room, i also want to provide line input to my reference monitors that will be located at the iMac desk and i obviously much prefer i get the line input directly from the mac rather than running a third cable from reciever back to the speakers.

  • Can MainStage split the audio outputs from a plug-in to separate busses/out

    Take EXS24 or Battery 3 or Kontakt as examples
    Only one plug-in instantiated but each drum 'hit' sent to separate outputs from within the plug-in/VI and brought into the mix on Audio/Aux channels for separate processing.
    It's easy to set up in ProTools and Logic.
    (I don't want to send the output of the channel strip to a bus - I know how to do that)
    I've read the manual so many times and can't find any answers.
    Does MainStage actually allow this routing ?
    Thanks for any help
    Lee

    As far as I know, the only way to do what you want in MainStage is to set up an EXS24 for each output.
    The EXS24 does have an option to load with multiple outputs, but I haven't found a way to make it work on my set up.

  • Audio coming from both TV Speakers and external soundbar - how do I suppress the TV audio output?

    Just after my warranty expired, my Toshiba 55TL515U started to play sounds through both the TV's speakers as well as outputting audio to my external Polk Audio soundbar, which is connected to the TV via the Digital Audio Output line. The TV never did this after I connected the external soundbar until a few days ago.
    I don't want any sound to come out of the TV speakers, I only want sound to come out of the soundbar. There's a horrible echo effect that occurs when both sound systems are active.
    I don't see a setting on any of the TV menus to control this. I would assume that if the TV senses an external audio device, it would no longer output any sound to the TV's speakers.
    Is there a setting on the TV I'm missing, or is this something broken within my TV?
    I called Polk Audio tech support, and they claim it's not a problem with the soundbar, but with the TV.
    If anyone can comment on this, I'd be very thankful.

    I have the same problem. When I mute the TV, I get sound only from Soundbar which is fine. But, everytime I turn on my tv, I had to mute my tv. And if I accidently press the volume button on TV, then both TV and Soundbar plays sound and that sucks.

  • I was recording with a usb mic then i got a audio interface with mic plug ins and i cant get the mic to rec. or even make sound on garageband... help me please

    how can i get my microphone to be detected through my midi device and have garageband be able to pick up the signal so i can record....please help me

    Hi there,
    Perhaps this will help with your problem. I assume that you connected your interface to USB input in your computer. Now, if the connection is correct and this interface is compatible with your computer, your computer will recognize it and accept it so to speak. In my case, when I connected APOGEE duet interface for the first time to my computer, the message window appeared on the screen asking if I want to use this device as input and output. But even though I clicked on "yes", I still had to do necessary adjustment in GarageBand (GB). If after connecting your device there isn't any message on the screen of your computer, go to System Preferences on the dock, open it, click on Speaker (sound) icon and see if the name of your device is there. If everything is OK, it should be there under input and output. Assuming that it's there, open GB, choose any project that you already have, if you don't have anything yet, create a new one. You don't have to record anything at this time. So after you open any project, click on GarageBand on menu bar in upper left corner of your screen, then click on Preferences, then on Audio/MIDI right after General. When you open Audio/MIDI you'll see two "windows", one for audio output, other for audio input. When you click on these little black arrows in both "windows" you should see your interface listed there, if it's there, choose it as input and output. Now you're set and ready to go. If you have MIDI device connected to your computer it'll also show there. For example, 0 MIDI Input(s) detected if you don't have any devices connected, or 1, or 2 MIDI Input(s) detected and so on. Hope this will help.
    Cheers!

  • Late 2011 MacBook Pro Audio Crackling from 3.5mm Output and USB Audio Devices.

    Howdy. I don't know what's wrong with my laptop. Recently any headphone I have used with the 3.5mm output has been crackleing. I assumed the jack it's self was broke but when I set up my Audioenndine D1 amp it is still crackling from videos on YouTube, Netflix, iTunes. etc... It even crackles when there is nothing playing. If anyone has any idea what is going on I would apreaciate it.

    You can try a NVRAM/PRAM reset:
    Disconnect all peripherals, power off, power back on holding the following keys  COMMAND OPTION P R
    continue holding till you hear the start chime 2 times then release, reboot.
    If it is still crackling it may be a hardware issue, you can bring it in to a Genius bar and they will disgnose it for free, and give you options.

  • Cash forecast (FF7B) from IM / PS applications, and internal orders as well

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to use transaction FF7B (cash forecast), with IM and PS applications?
    I have several options:
    1) from IM application, I would like to use the capitalize date and another field(s) that will contain the terms of payment; then I would like to be able to forecast my payments 1 year in advance and monthly (according to the terms of payment: 20% the 1st of june, 50% the 1st of october,...). Does SAP enable to do so in its standard? Which field(s) should I use in the investment line item to enter my terms of payment?
    2) Same question for PS application or from internal orders, which fields should I use to have a date and terms of payment so that I can have a report of my payment forecast with transaction FF7B?
    As you would have understood, I would like to have several levels of payment forecasts: at IM level, at PS level, then engaged with purchase orders/requests (standard SAP) and invoices (standard SAP).
    Thanks for your ideas/help...
    Ronan

    Hi Ronan,
    FF7B allows you to pick up itesm from the SD and MM module and show it in the Liquidity Forecast report.  So for example, if you have Sales Orders with a delivery date of say November 1, 2010 and the customer has terms Net/30, then this amount will show up as a Receivable on Dec.1, 2010. Similarly if the delivery is spread over a one year period with 1/12th being delivered every month, then the Liq. Forecast will show them accordingly in each month starting from December 2010.
    In your case you want to show items appearing in IM and PS. I am not familiar with these modules, but I am sure there will be a way to capture them and show them items in the Liquidity Forecast. May be if you can give some detail about the items which you want to see in the FF7B report, I might be able to guide you.

  • Audio Synch from Color back to FCP

    I am sending a short sequence with 8 clips or so to color, adding a color fx to half of the clips, rendering all of the clips, inc. the ones without an effect added, and sending back to fcp. When I open the new color sequence, the audio is out of synch by a few seconds. Any ideas why?

    Any ideas why?
    Not really, but it has been a continuing problem. You're sure it is the audio that is out of sync, and not the video? (Just checking) There are a lot of complaints, especially with HDV about frame drift.
    Best solution is to lift the audio from the previous timeline and paste it into the graded (from COLOR) sequence. Even when a mixed stereo final is part of the workflow, it almost never comes back the same, so most, if not all, users avoid sending and retrieving audio as part of the COLOR roundtrip. In my experience, even if it somehow mysteriously lands back in sync, the pan settings are all slammed over to one side.
    So we all just pull the original audio forward from the previous sequence and Apple can go onward in its delusional mindstate.

  • How to read an audio file from the disk and play it?

    Do you know who to read an audio file from the hard disk and play it. It's for an application and not an applet. I tried with the Applet.newAudioClip(URL url) thing, but I keep getting a MalformedURLException.
    And is there a way to get the path of the file you are using? Currently I'm doing this:
    File file = new file("randomname");
    string = file.getAbsolutePath();
    file.delete();
    I'm sure there's a better way. And this is not for an applet, just a normal app.

  • Audigy 4 rear audio comes from front speake

    Whenever I caolibrate my speakers they work fine. However, when I go into speaker settings all of the rear right audio comes from the front right and rear left comes from the front left. I'm using the analog outs on my sound card. I've uninstalled the drivers and disabled my onboard sound. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the card, reset the defaults in the console, and updated the drivers. The only peripheral I have hooked up is a Fellowes brand mouse. I checked the outs on the sound card itself and audio only comes out of the front out, the green jack. I've seen that some people have problems with the drivers not working because the sound card is not recognized, but my computer recognizes it as and Audigy 4.

    Actually, this is the situation w/ Audigy 2 (6. card) too --> something strange w/ output channel mapping:
    Speakers set to 6/6., CMSS OFF, 5.2.8.64 drivers. This PC has only GB or RAM.
    With WDM, WDM/KS and Asio4All (uses WDM/KS functionality) drivers, output channels are mapped as:
    /2 ==> Front L/R
    3/4 ==> Front C/Sub L/R
    5/6 ==> Rear L/R
    7/8 ==> Front L/R
    when expected would be
    /2 ==> Front L/R,
    3/4 ==> Rear L/R
    5/6 ==> Front C/Sub L/R
    (7/8 ==> Front L/R) ?
    <i>With both Creative ASIO drivers channels are mapped as expected:
    Front L/R = Front L/R
    Rear L/R = Rear L/R
    Front C/Sub L/R = Front C/Sub L/R
    </i>

  • Toggling mono/stereo status and Plugins

    Why is it that when switching a channel from mono to stereo (and vise versa) will sometimes change the plugins from mono to stereo (etc) and sometimes not..?

    Doesn't it make more sense to maintain the mono of a bass track. Same goes for the guitar presets. Whats up??????
    Not necessarily. Sometimes a wider sound is needed to make room some tracks to be placed in the centre. Besides, if you really need a mono track, then you can alter the channel strip and save it under a different name. Think of the supplied presets as guidelines rather than laws.

  • Rescue stereo audio fades from a mono project

    On Premiere Pro CS3 I accidentally created a project with a mono master audio track. The live audio is in fact mono, but the backing music which fades in and out is stereo.
    I can't see any way to convert the master track to stereo (or find any advice online on how to achieve this) so I thought I could export the video and live audio into a mono-sound movie, then combine it with the music in a new stereo project.
    But how do I apply the very complicated fades from the original project to the music on the new one? Tried exporting an EDL of the relevant audio but can't figure out how to apply it when I import it into the new stereo project.
    Anyone know the best way to do this?

    Hi – thanks for the advice Ron. Before I saw your reply I was trying to figure out how the EDL I exported from the original mono project could be used in my new stereo project, which was basically a full mixdown of the original without the music.
    Importing the EDL created a bin folder containing separate L and R audio (of the backing music) and an EDL file, but when I added these into the main sequence there were no fades to be seen. What I had failed to notice at first was that it also created a separate sequence tab on the timeline. This contained the same audio files WITH fades. Not sure what the logic of that is.
    But, when I finally noticed that the other sequence was there, all I had to do was cut and paste the audio into the main sequence.
    I usually deal with very short videos so I've never used multiple sequences within the same project before and would have to look up how to nest one inside another. So I found another solution in the end, but yours sounds entirely credible too. Thanks again.
