Microphone drops during facetime calls?

When I use factime, my microphone drops after a couple of minutes of conversation, I can still hear people, but they can't hear me anymore, what's the problem?

Same here . I was facetiming my friend & I could hear her perfectly but she couldn't hear me . I turned my volume up & so did she , & it still didnt work . We both put in earphones & nothing changed . I was thinking the wifi or something was weak but we both had 3 bars . She said it was mine because she facetimed with other people & heard them clearly . She facetimed me on her ipod , it was happening . So she tried her iphone ( iPhone 4g with ios6 update ) & it still wasn't working . So I thought maybe its not the facetime , its the sound all together . So I recorded a video of me talking & you could hear the movement of objects & the russle of the iPod , but you couldn't hear my voice . It was literally so soft to where my voice was basically on mute . I have no idea what's going on .

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

My ipad mini crashes during facetime calls.

My ipad mini crashes during facetime calls. It happens 3 or 4 times during a 30 min call. My ipad restarts itself without any issues but why does it do this?

(A) Close all apps in the multi-task window
1.Double-click the Home button.
2. Swipe the app's preview up to close it.
(B) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

My iPad Air always freezes during FaceTime calls using wifi. I switch to my iPhone 5c on the same wifi, and it never freezes while I'm sitting in the same location. Is there maybe a setting I have that is causes this? I am un to date on the OS also.

No, there isn't any setting that you are missing. Have you tried force closing FaceTime, and resetting your iPad?
In order to close FaceTime, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not make a difference, you could try resetting all settings, if you reset all settings you will have to enter all of the device preferences again in the settings app. That takes some time to accomplish, but you will not lose my data, media, apps or anything like that. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad first, restore the iOS, then restore the backup.

So if I make a FaceTime call on my iMac via my iPhone 6, where's my keypad?

I’m sorry I didn’t grasp your situation earlier but now I do understand. Once the call is initiated you would use the number keys on your keyboard to make selections in an automated system. Make sure that you have the phone call notification on your computer selected and your physical keyboard numbers will let you make selections.

Audio disappears during Facetime calls

I frequently talk to a friend using Facetime, but occasionally my friend's audio disappears. When that happens, our only recourse is to switch to Skype. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be? My friend's Mac is a fairly recent iMac running Lion 10.7.5. My iMac is running Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Dear Apple,
I have been a loyal customer since 1991. I have enjoyed nearly every product. I love - LOVE Facetime.
But the audio dropout problem STINKS. PLEASE FIX IT.
Seriously, there should be an easy software fix to prevent the auto-volume control from dropping one party's sound so low that it is inaudible. You can do SIRI for crying out loud, surely you can FIX THIS.

Iphone 5 with IOS 7.02 sensive to change facetime during the call

It was an issue when using Ipgone 5 with ios & above.
when talking it was so eassy to touch the screen and chnage to facetime or mute the call
as i remember from the previous time it need to press the button to call those manual out...
according to this new arrangement, I have more than 50% of call will drop during the call.

If your iPhone does not connect to a Wi-Fi network, but other devices can, try these troubleshooting steps first:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your Wi-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.
Update your device to the latest version of software.

My iPhone (iPhone 5S) getting green display after one second going to switch off then automatically ON during FaceTime call. My OS version now 7.0.4. I think recent update actually to fix the above issue but still continues.

Similar issue Andrew. After installing 8.0, the IOS deleted 225 songs from one of my playlists, and I'm still "recalling" songs that are no longer in my Music Library. Fortunately, although the playlist of 235 had only 6 songs left on it ( on my Mac), the Playlist was not erased from my I -Phone. I was able to recreate the Playlist on my Mac, using the intact playlist on my phone. When I synched however, I was back to square one. I went to the Apple store, and I had to reset the phone . We also downloaded IOS 8.02. They saved my playlist in the Cloud, deleted it from my Mac, then synched it. Lo and behold, the playlist I recreated on my Mac, synched to my I Phone. After the reset, I had like 11GB of free space. (Its been 5 days since the "reset" and the number of GBs fluctuates from day to day !!)
When I got home from the Apple store I spent after hours reinstalling all the apps, synchng the phone to the Bluetooth in my car ( you know the rest of the saga) , I purchased a song from I Tunes. I "drag and dropped" it into a Playlist, and synched. Didn't work. Song shows in "Recently Added", but the drag and drop feature doesn't work. Bottom line, I'm not willing to "reset" my phone every time I add a song ! I've tried any number of fixes posted to this support community, but none have worked for me.
Furthermore, it took me 3 hours to get the phone re-synched to the Bluetooth system in my car. However every time I connect to "Bluetooth Audio", the system needs to "find" and "reconnect to" my phone. If you ( or anyone else ) finds something that might work for both the music synch and /or the Bluetooth, I'd appreciate your input.

Front facing camera video flashes dark during FaceTime

Happens frequently. Does not flash all the way to black, but it gets pretty dark. Flashes between normal lighting and very dark lighting two times a second. During FaceTime call when this happens, pressing home key to return to home screen, then the green bar at top to return to face time call temporary resolves the problem every time

I found a workaround for now. Using Cyberlink MediaEspresso 6.7, I was able to convert the file into an M4V file in HD which DOES play in Quicktime. I also noticed that VLC media player would play the original MOV file.

Headphone volume too loud in Facetime calls - iPad Mini Retina 7.1.1

I have an iPad Mini Retina Space grey 32GB Wifi version updated to the newest iOS 7.1.1.
I've noticed that the headphone volume during Facetime calls is always extremely loud even on lowest volume setting and there's no way to lower the volume further down. It's independent of the person I call, and the same problem appears in both in Facetime video and Facetime audio calls.
The bug only appears in the Facetime app and only after inserting the headphones and (not noticable when using the speaker). Setting a volume limit in Settings doesn't affect this loud volume during Facetime calls. I've tried 3 different headphones and I've also done a full reset of the iPad and setting up a completely new iCloud account.
I also have an iPad Mini (1st gen) and an iPhone 4 and I don't experience this bug on those devices.
Have anyone experienced the same bug? Any solution?

pandora? once I got used to it, it bacame second nature to simple reach over and toggle the hotspot off and on. not great if you have the constant need, but if you have the constant need, it wouldnt be shutting down in the first place.
If this is a big issue for you, and there is no persistant wifi available, you might think about a standalone portable hotspot. Pretty much every carrier in the US has one they would be happy to sell you, along with a data plan.
(look on e bay for a used one )

Why do I get a black screen if I multitask to another app and then return to Facetime during a call?

Whenever I swap to another application from Facetime during a call, I get a black screen when I return to Facetime and I am forced to end the call by hitting the Sleep/Wake button. Help!

Data Connection drops during a Phone call on iPhone 5

Does anyone have a weird issue of data dropping completely during the call? When I place a call the 3g icon disappears completely and nothing that requires data works until I hung up. Once I hang up the 3g service is restored pretty much instantly.

What carrier are you using?
Some carriers don't support Internt Data while on calls.
Talk to your cell service provider for details about your service.

Turning off (somehow) the ringing of FaceTime on mac OS X during Handoff calls

Handoff is great. Love it.
But I need to be able to turn off FaceTime's ring on the mac during the Handoff.
What I want to avoid is the ringing of incoming FaceTime calls when I am not at my mac, and I am answering the incoming FaceTime call on my iPhone during that time.
Is the FaceTime incoming ring actually a Notification and can turn off Notification sound of FaceTime?
or can the ring be stopped maybe by stopping rings if the mac is on screensaver?

but it seems more difficult. as per below review of handoff in yosemite included the following info about doing just that:
The FaceTime app will let you choose a ringtone for phone calls, but only from the stock collection of iOS sounds. (I even added ringtones to iTunes on my Mac, but it didn’t see them, and even if you find where the ringtone files are stored you can’t add new ones.) Ringtone selections were played on my MacBook’s internal speaker, even though the rest of the Mac was playing through an external audio device.
