Microphone gone after disabling and re-enabling it in BIOS (Security - I/O Port Access menu)
Windows doesn't detect it anymore, and the microphone-mute button is dead.
I would call the Technical support line.
- They should have the answer since they live and breath with these day in/out and have access to info knowone else has
- they can do the same thing on the model (with the factory image you have). We assume you have the factory image!!!
- once testing in the lab they can get back to you
There is very little you can do:
- double check the BIOS retained the change you last made and IT IS STILL ENABLED
- double check the list in Device manager as to the status (if they're on the list still)
There is little substitue for hands on trouble shooting and I have know idea what might be missing. All be it you've not supplied any information on any aspect of the machine, configuraton or operating system you have. Nor weither you're using the Win 7 factory image of which type etc
Call the support line. A competent tech should get you going after a few reboots. If not call back and get someone else who knows what they're doing/have it escalated to someone who knows.

Lost mail after disabling and re-enabling an account
Using Mail 3.6 on Leopard 10.5.7. I was setting up new MobileMe accounts for myself and my wife. She previously had mail checking a gmail account. After the mobileme account was set up on mail, I unchecked the enable account box in the gmail account settings. When I saw the inbox was gone, I re-enabled the account and saw the inbox with the list of emails return. What I did not realize until the following day is that despite the inbox list of messages (index?) being repopulated, the attached messages were not present. So, after reading some other threads, I chose to rebuild that mailbox. After that, the list of emails is now also gone and I can't find them in the trash or junk folders either.
Is there any chance for recovery of these messages?First pause the mirroring and shutdown the servers.
If the server network address specifies a fully qualified domain name and Ports are opened, I don't think there will
be a problem.

Problem in enabling constraint - after disabling and truncation of table .

I have a table called DRR_TABLES that has list of table names . The requirement is to truncate the tables present in DRR_TABLES except KEY_IDS table and table_name like '%TYPE%' table.
written a procedure . successfullly truncating the tables from DRR_TABLES but while enabling constraints after truncation , I am getting problem in enabling constraints .

Iphoto gone after reinstall and can't install it again.
I've reinstalled OS and after that iphoto and all the programs from ilife are gone.
I've only got an applications install disc (on the disc: time machine, mail, dock, facetime etc.)

How can i download photos to my IPhone after Disable and Delete ICloud Photo Library?
I`ve started to use Icloud Photo Library, but i`ve decided to not use anymore because just a few photos were uploaded to the cloud.
So, I`ve turned off my ICloud Photo Library entirely at Manage Storage section of ICloud Settings. After that i`ve been trying to re-download my photos to my IPhone, by "Transfer and Keep Originals" set up, but it isn`t working!You cannot. this is how the iphone handles photos.
ALL PHOTOS synced to iphone can be accessed via the "Photo Library". Those same photos can also be accessed from the folders that you synced. Just as you can find a book in your public library and you find the same book in the fiction section.
Stop trying to resolve it as there is nothign to resolve. All is working as it should. -
Photos gone after cut and paste
Hi,
I had a problem with my iphone 6 when I tried to cut and paste photos from iphone to my windows 8 PC. At first I tried 1 photo, and it worked properly, yet when I cut and paste a bunch of photos (around 50 of them) onto my pc, I realized about half of the photos were missing. Then I used ctrl+z to see if the missing photos would come back. Unfortunately, the missing photos weren't back, and the ones that were originally successfully transferred to my pc were also missing as well (after ctrl+z). So now I have no photos left. Are there any ways of recovery?I suggfest not using cut and paste - merge events by dragging one ot the other or selecting them and using the merge events command
and be extremely careful about going inside the iPhoto library - the slightest error can damage your library and cause data loss

Icons gone after disk and permissions repair
I ran Onxy to clean my MBP and it told me I had to run disk utility from my Mac osx install disk and do disk repair and permissions before I could use it.
I did it, took about 5 minutes to complete, but now whenever I save something from photoshop the preview image of the icon is gone, there's no icon, just the name of the file. I went looking through finder and half of my preview icons are gone on pictures, pdf's etc.

So my question is, is there any way to get the icons back and have saved files show the icon again? Or should I just use time machine to go back to yesterday?I just restarted my computer, again, and the icons are back. Don't know where they went, but they're there now.

After disabling and starting in safe mode, the connection time is still extremely slow.
My cache empties on closing the browser and I delete history every day. Still most times, the connection time is horrible, sometimes up to 80 seconds. I run Malwarebytes and Super Anti Spyware every night. Kaspersky anti-virus runs constantly so it's up to the minute protection. This only started about 7 weeks ago and I've tried all the suggestions I could find on the web, without results.
My server is Comcast, with 50mbps and I've been very happy with them for the past 3 years. I'm at my wits end and don't know where to turn. Can anybody give me help?Hello,

Face time gone after restore, and say's "waiting for activation"
Just restored my iphone 4 to see if that would help.
Now my facetime is gone. I have it "on" in the phone preferences, but it say's "waiting for activation" underneath it."Settings" then "Phone" then switch on "iFace" toggle. I had the same issue.

Because I am having issues with Norton Security Suite with the upgrade to Firefox 4.0.1, I have been dealing with that as well, with no success to-date. However, I did notice today when I was looking in my trash, an interesting thing occurred with the upgrade that MAY have something to do with the apps. in Facebook not working correctly now with Firefox.
In my trash, there are several folders of 'Recovered Files'. Two of them are loaded with Internet Plugins for Facebook and were all dumped on May 1st, the day I upgraded to v. 4.0.1 Firefox and began having all my problems. For example, they are plugins like: plugin-cross domain.xml, plugin-gateway-1.php, plugin-102452128776.gz-72.json, just to name a few of them. Now, I am wondering if they were inadvertently removed during the upgrade process, or if they are in conflict with the new upgrade. Should I put them all back into Library -->Internet Plug-Ins to see if that resolves the problems? There are so many of them, I wish there was a way to mark them in some fashion in case I would have to remove them and not take the wrong ones out! Maybe there is a way I can color code them before I move them. I hate using 2 browsers!
I notice that 2 other people have this problem but I don't see where they left any post. I really wish Norton, Firefox, and Facebook would get this ironed out. I never had a problem with anything until this and I don't like to spend all my time trying to troubleshoot something I don't understand! Anyway, thanks for listening. -
Personal ringtones gone after ios8 and cannot re-sync them back to phone
I recently upgraded to the ios8 and had to restore the phone from the backup. Now my personal ringtones aren't on the phone, nor can I manually sync them! HELP

Apple® iTunes® can also be used to convert an MP3 to M4R but the process is a little involved and the directions might be slightly different depending on the version. In general, the imported MP3 must be first converted to the AAC format (which is essentially the same as M4P), then manually renamed from an MP4 to an M4R file.
To use iTunes® to convert an MP3 files to M4R, add the MP3 file to your iTunes® Library. Right-click on the file once more, and choose "Create ACC version" from the popup menu. (This will only appear if you select under iTunes Preferences > General > Import Settings > Import Using AAC Encoder
on a MAC:
Now navigate to the folder where iTunes® has saved this file (or Right Click and Show in Finder ). It should have created 3-4 different versions there.. Mp3, m4a and M4r. Select the M4r version and drag over to TONES in iTunes...now sync your phone with iTunes
On a PC
Now navigate to the folder where iTunes® has saved this file (or Right Click and Show in Finder ). Use the computer’s Search feature to find the file name, or look in the default Music folder, then inside the iTunes® folder. Scroll down until you find the saved file, which will be an M4A file.
Drag the file to the Desktop (a copy will be generated), then go into iTunes® and delete the original file. The Desktop copy will remain.
Return to the Desktop and rename the ringtone file with an M4R extension. If you cannot see file extensions, go to Folder Options (via Control Panel) and under the View tab, uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types" and try again. Once the file has been successfully renamed, click on it and iTunes® will import it into the Ringtones folder. Synch your iPhone® to upload the ringer.

If you havent removed your customizations, you may find your bookmarks backup stored in your profile folder. This can be found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profilename>\bookmarkbackups folder.
If the backups exist and you want to revert to the backup, go to Organize Bookmarks (Ctrl+Shift+B) and choose Import & Backup>Restore>Choose File option. Select your file and you will get back your bookmarks. -
hi there can anyone help me. i have gone back to my iphone as my other is in repair and i tried the passcode to many times and its now disabled and says connect to itunes however it says online that you need to connect it to the laptop you synced your phone with last however i have a new laptop and iv installed itunes and my iphone wont connect so how do i enable it so i can use it again.
iCloud backups do not have seperate passwords, it is merely the password to the Apple ID.
If attempting to restore via iTunes on a computer and the system prompts for a passwod to restore, there are two possible options:
1) The user enabled backup encryption. If so, enter the password. There is no way to reset or remove this password.
2) The backup is corrupt. If the user never selected backup encryption and the backup is asking for a password, the backup is corrupt. Delete the backup and restore as new.
Relying on PhotoStream for storing all your pictures taken with the device is extremely unintelligent. Old pictures roll off of PhotoStream after 30 days or 1000 pictures, whichever occurs first. -
After updating to v. 24.0 (and restarting, several times) ALL add-ons (regardless whether they work or not) are marked "(disabled)". I tried clicking "Enable" button for each add-on and nothing happened. There is only one add-on which is marked as incompatible with this version (but it was also incompatible with previous version, and so marked).
Clicking "Update Add-ons", gives a short list of add-ons but "Install Updates" button is pale and doesn't work. I can only sort list by name or last update.
Also, I disabled Ask Toolbar and that went well. When I click "Enable" button (button works ONLY for this add-on) it takes forever to get note: “Ask Toolbar will be enabled after you restart Firefox”, I used to get this info in seconds time before this update. (I do not really want Ask Toolbar, I just used it to see whether if I disable and then enable an add-on might do the trick.)
Bottom line – I can not tell if add-on works (i.e. if it is enabled or disabled) unless I try using it.
Even when I posted this question and installed Troubleshooter, it's also marked as "(disabled)"You're welcome

I am totally frustrated by the fact that now i have gone to iCloud and after a few synchs, my contacts are all mixed up with the wrong information. For instance, my email and phone number comes up under someone else's name (a thousand contacts). I dont know how to repair this. what a nightmare
An icloud account is designed to be used by just one user. If you have given your ID or set up your account on someone else's device, then their data will be mingled with your or worse.
