Microphone issue since ios 5.1 upgrade

hi all,
my iphone worked perfectly on ios 5.0.1.
since i have upgraded something has happened with the microphone which means the only way i can get anyone to hear me is to talk directly into the microphone.
if i hold it to my ear nobody can hear me.
anyone else have this issue, and what is the fix?

Do you have a question?

Since iOS 8.3 upgrade school iPads need to reset (holding down home and power button) very often as they do not turn on. iPads are charged at the time.
Anyone know how to fix this? It is making life at the school quite difficult.

I take that back, music is messed up too!  Some of the "default" playlists, such as "recently added" , "Recently played" and "Top 25 Most Played" are listed on iTunes and were always on my phone... but since iOS 8.3... they are gone... Still in iTunes, but not on device.

  • Since iOS 5.0 upgrade can't add details into calender. Any ideas

Since iOS 5.0 upgrade, can't add details into calender. Any ideas

Update! I took some general advice on the forum and rebooted my iPhone a few times. I also asked the phone to "forget this device" and attempted to reconnect several times. It would load my contacts and then proceed to disconnect from the phone and I would also see a message on the Bluetooth page that the BlueAnt ST3 was not supported.
    I gave up.
I left the two devices plugged into my computer for power overnight, laying side by side on the table.
They found each other. The next day they connected and have been communicating ever since.
Perhaps until the next IOS upgrade? But a happy ending in the interim

  • Photo's stored as "other" since iOS 8.3 upgrade.

Since upgrading to iOS 8.3, my photos are being stored as "other".  I show 5993 photos in the photos category, but only show 185.9 MB being used.  My "Other" shows 4.45 GB being used.  I have reinstalled (restored) my iPhone several times (clean install - not restore from backup).  I have also deleted my iPod Photo Cache that is stored in "MY PICTURES."  Nothing is fixing this.  I am using Windows 7 and have the latest iTunes.
Before I re-add my photos, my "other" is less than 1 GB.
    My Music is synced fine.
Also, My phone's battery life is horrible, consuming as much as 10% per hour without any use.  Phone is VERY WARM to the touch.
As with the photo's issue, even doing a complete restore of iOS (setting phone up as new) does NOT fix either problem.
Apple did a diagnostic, but nothing was found... NOTHING!
Any ideas on what is going on or how to fix this?
Also, note that even going back and doing a restore from back up from a much older back up from before this problem existed does not help.
Of course, my phone (a 5S) is just a month or so past its warranty, so, Apple will do nothing.  I am starting to think this is their way of getting me to upgrade early with AT&T and forcing me off my unlimited data plan... Don't tell me that Apple and AT&T wouldn't team up on this, one, Apple gets to add to their sales numbers, and AT&T gets to "upgrade" me to a newer plan... which they have been trying to get me off my "grandfathered" plan for quite some time.

I take that back, music is messed up too!  Some of the "default" playlists, such as "recently added" , "Recently played" and "Top 25 Most Played" are listed on iTunes and were always on my phone... but since iOS 8.3... they are gone... Still in iTunes, but not on device.

  • Xperia T- Bluetooth Issues since Andriod 4.3 Upgrade.

    Hello All.
Since my phone was upgraded to Andriod 4.3 Jelly bean, I've been unable to make calls from my phone via my BMW car audio as before, as the Bluetooth link keeps dropping out.
I've tried re- pairing the phone to my car, but this has made no difference.
The Bluetooth seems to work ok with other devices.
    Questions are:
    1) Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it.
    2) If not, is it possible to re- install the previous version of Bluetooth that came with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and worked perfectly ok with the car audio.
    3) As a last resort, is it possible to install a 3rd party Bluetooth App to try and resolve the problem.
Hope somebody out there can help !

I Have an Xperia Z and once again since the update battery drains superquick, the phone gets hot and the bluetooth is all but useless, I work for a motor dealer, since this update I cannot pair my phone to most of our vehicles to demonstrate the system (and yes it did pair fine to these cars and vans prior to update), I get the message Bluetooth share has stopped or it will re-boot the entire phone, I did have a conversation with Sony who deemed that I should back up and restore the handset, which once done may or may not work (it didn't) and they seem to be completely denying a problem, which as I have checked various forums there very clearly is a major issue

  • Issue since iOS Update with TomTom Carkit

    Hardware:
    iPhone 4, iOS latest Patchlevel
TomTom Navigation CarKit with integrated Speaker, GPS and Bluetooth connection
I have got the following issue since the iOS Update to 6.x
integrated CarKit Speaker is no longer in use=> After receiving an Email with notification signal the speaker becomes active => Makes the usage of a Navigation Software a little more complicated without spoken notifications
Continuos Bluetooth Connection loss to the dock, sometimes followed by the message: Charging with this device is not supported! Could only be solved with undocking/docking the iPhone => complicated during driving on a motorway!
Some apps are no longer able to start (mostly games for my kids).
    Has anyone an idea?

Have you contacted Honda? Is there a firmware update for the car system?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Sometimes an iOS updates breaks compatibility and y have to air for a firmware update to the car system or iOS update

  • Issues since iOS 8.3

Hi Everyone - has anyone else had to endure the following since iOS 8.3?
    iPhone 5
    1) Since the update, my iPhone 5 sometimes tries a reboot mid charge but locks up and I have to hold down the home and sleep button to coax it back into life.
    2) Since the update, I cannot connect my iPhone 5 to my laptop without the a warning from the laptop about USB power surge meaning I cannot charge or sync to/from the laptop.
    iPad Mini
    1) Random rebooting
    2) Freezing
The iPad issues are a tad frustrating but live-with-able. The phone issue is a stress, particularly the inability to charge/sync, as I use the camera for work and I used to rely on charging the phone on the move with the laptop if I was working offsite. Wish I could turn the clock back and not update or hope that 8.3.1 appears very quickly and the problems are chalked off. I don't see why I need to purchase a powerpack for charging on the go when it worked perfectly until this iOS update.

My iPhone 6 is acting weird on charging. It started when using an external power battery. No charging with it. Then I tried the Apple charger and cable. No way. Battery went off. iPhone shut down. I tried a recovery. It seemed all was ok again. After hours restoring my backup. Then I tried another external battery. Again the same situation. So it seems that Apple did some software barriers to avoid third party batteries.
Before ios 8.3 at least there was a warning about not supported chargers. Now it the worst situation, as one has to recover the whole system.
    Contacting Apple care tomorrow....let's see.

  • ICal/Google sync issues since iOS 8.2 update

Since the update to iOS 8.2 a few days ago, iCal on my iPhone 5s is not syncing with my Google Calendar.  I have already reset the 2 step verification on my Google calendar permissions, checked to make sure events are in the Google calendar and not in the iPhone calendar, and checked settings to make sure the Google calendar is selected.  The only thing I have not tried (because I'm worried that changes I made prior to realizing thisi was an issue would be lost) is deleting my Google account from the iPhone and reconnecting.  Is that really my only remaining option?  I'm stumped.

I'm facing the same issue on iOS 8.2 iPhone6. iCal is not syncing on the iPhone. It does, however, sync from Yosemite to iCloud.com.

  • My iPad 2 has suffered performance issues since iOS 8, any tips on how to alleviate or fix issues?

I bought an iPad 2 at launch and have been a happy customer for the last 3 years. Unfortunately since iOS 8 my iPad 2 has slowed down considerably and sometimes doesn't even play videos. I'm sad to say this but it's pretty much become a paper weight. It's frustrating as I was expecting to be able to surf the web for the next few years. however, I am beginning to feel like Im going to be forced to upgrade to a newer model just to maintain the same performance my iPad 2 had when I first bought it 3 years ago. I feel that it's ludicrous to expect to have to upgrade every couple of years just to surf the web.
Are there any tips to improve iPad 2 performance? Should I roll back the update(Apple doesnt recommend this but it's an option?) should I just wait for Apple to optimise iOS 8 for older hardware?
    regards,
    Dylan

    Hi ..
There's no need to upgrade. Try resetting ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
And try the tips mentioned here >  5 Tips to Speed Up Your iPad  (skip number one)
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • AirPlay mirroring issue after iOS 8.1 upgrade on iPhone 6

I just purchased an Apple TV. When trying to mirror my iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1 to the tv, I get a black screen. If I reboot the iPhone I can use mirroring but it stops working if I disconnect from the Apple TV. My partners iPhone 5s on iOS 8.1 connects fine as does my iPad air.

Yup. Same problem here. Had NO Problems with any of my TV hardware with my old iPhone 5 running iOS 8. But now, with my iPhone 6 - It just will not connect?!  The device will try but then the entire list of options in Airplay resets and it defaults back to my iPhone option. Sometimes it asks for the code and then just blinks resets again and does not connect. Oddly, every single other apple device I own (2012 Mac mini, 2013 MBP, iPad 3) ALL connect with NO problems! Could there be  something faulty within my iPhone 6 (i.e.: hardware)? I'm beginning to rule out software now... Since iOS 8.1.1 AND Yosemite work fine unilaterally across the rest of the Apple Products.
    Odd.  >>> Fix this Apple<<<< —  There's something up.
So, like the rest of us now here - Any suggestions welcome. And as a point of reference —  I've been using Apple products since the Apple IIe and am a Certified Mac Tech (all be it a frustrated one) so, please don't request me to some standard list of simply resetting, restarting my device type suggestions... I've sincerely exhausted my options in that regard. Next step is to return the iPhone I guess.
    Many Thanks

    Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • Bluetooth wireless keyboard issues after iOS 4.3 upgrade

I use the Kensington iPad case with wireless bluetooth keyboard, model K39294. Since the upgrade to iOS 4.3, the keyboard shows it is paired, but won't connect and the bluetooth icon on the iPad stays greyed out. To get them to connect and work I have to forget the device in the iPad settings/general/bluetooth menu and then re-pair them. The keyboard will work for a day, but then stops working again. The connect button on the keyboard doesn't resolve the issue either.
Any one else experiencing this issue and have a fix?

I am having this same problem... Only with iPad 3 and update to iOS 7
    It worked perfectly before. :(

  • IPad1 switching to 3G despite WiFi since iOS 4.3 upgrade

I've been seeing my iPad1 ditch an active (and very strong) WiFi connection in favor of 3G on a regular basis since upgrading it to 4.3, and the behavior continues with 4.3.1. This is an expensive proposition.
At first it seemed like it was only happening when running Zite, and I thought it might be an issue with the app. I've now had it happen with Pulse and Safari too. The only solution I have right now is to manually toggle the 3G off when I have WiFi available.
The WiFi system is a pair of Airport Extremes that have otherwise been completely reliable, and the iPad's connection is completely reliable if I turn 3G off. It also never happened prior to iOS 4.3 (I've had the unit since early April 2010 so I had a lot of experience with it).
So: Common problem? Estimated time frame for a fix?

I forgot to add that I have also seen this with an iPhone 3GS, also running 4.3. With unlimited data it is only an annoyance there, though.

  • Mail not working since iOS 8.2 upgrade

hi - my Mail has stopped downloading to my iPhone 5 mailbox since I uograded to IOS 8.2.
I had a similar issue with 8.02 however that fixed itself after a few days, however whatever I have tried (reinstalling myail account, rebooting the phone) it is still now working.
Does does anybody have and suggestions on how to fix?

  • Touchscreen issue since IOS 5.1

Is anyone else having problems with the touchscreen since installing IOS 5.1? It seems like the calibration is off.
I am also unable to install apps. Ive tried restoring and soft resets but nothing seems to work.
Am I the only one? or does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

Sorry -- no fixes for you but I, too, am experiencing this problem with my iPod Touch 4th gen. I even did a restore and reinstall from iTunes to see if there had been in installation issue (I had an installation issue over wi-fi where the Apple logo appeared with an empty progress bar for most of an hour). After a couple of re-boots it finally kicked in but with the touchscreen issue.  The restore didn't resolve anything. Kinda got a gut feel like the updates for the Ipad 3 screen resolution is what is causing the problem on the small screen of the iPhone/iPod. My iPad 1 isn't having any issues. I don't know if my wife's iPod is problematic or not. Both her iPad 1 and iPod 4 were updated last weekend but haven't heard any reports.
