Microphone not recognised since upgrade to iOS4
Applications no longer recognise the microphone in my Apple earphone + remote + mic since I upgraded my 2nd gen touch to iOS4.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?
Mine seems to work. Make sure wifi is turned on.

Smtp not recognised since upgrading to ios 8.1
All my emails were working fine on ios8.0.2 until I upgraded to ios8.1 now it doesn't recognise my outgoing smtp on my work account..
It is only happening on one out of the 4 accounts but it happens to be the same one that doesn't work on my MacBook Pro or iMac after I upgraded them to Yosemite.
Any suggestions for fixing this?Hey Sowndman,

20" Apple Cinema Display not recognised after upgrading to OS 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion).
Hello Apple! Anybody there? How long does your community have to wait for a solution?
The same problem has been unsolved for months now. No statements from Apple either.
I was told today to wait for 10.8.3. This might solve the issue. I can not belive my ears.
My MacBookPro 4,1, Intel Core 2 Duo with 2.5 GHz Processor and Graphics chip: NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, will not talk to the exter. 20" Cinema Display ( Model Number A1081 ). The screen stays black. Resetting the PRAM did not help. I removed the 'com.apple.windowserver.plist' and the 'com.apple.windowserver.OE35739etc,etcxxxxxxxxxxx.plist', but that did not help either.
Any other solutions, or do I have to downgrade or give up on Apple Computers alltogether after using them for over 25 years?I found out that I needed a $100 mini displayport to dual-link dvi adapter to make my $30" cinema display work with my macbook pro
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dvi-ada pter?fnode=51
When I found out that solved the problem, I took it back because that was too expensive for a stupid adapter, and it still didn't work perfectly. -
My Parallels program is now not working since upgrading my MacBook Pro to OS X Mountain Lion. I was wondering if there is a solution to getting this working again?
You just need to update it to the latest version. See:

All firewire devices not recognised after upgrading to Leopard 10.5.4
Hello, yesterday I finally got around to upgrading one of my home computers (old Emac G4 powerpc from 2005) to Leopard. I have been using Leopard on my work computer (G5 also from 2005) with no problems for a year now (this Leopard update was installed professionally when. I work with a lot of files on external hd's, mostly Lacies, one Maxtor and yesterday got new G-Drive 1TB. Since the upgrade the Emac will not recognise any of the external hds when connected by Firewire. It will recognise them if I use the USB. However I'm sending too much media traffic (film editing) to just use usb all the time. I need my firewire connections!
This is clearly a Leopard issue, there are no problems with the drives or the firewire connections or the cables, they all work fine on the work computer and my other home computer (powerbook laptop G4) and as I said the upgraded emac will recognise them from usb. And since it's three different kinds of drives that all work on other computers but all stopped working on the single Leopard upgrade it's not a Lacie, Maxtor or G-drive problem.
I've seen a lot of threads on this and other support forums about firewire problems but some are a slightly different problem and many are quite old so I wonder if anyone has any recent experience/advice for me?
Many threads complain that Apple was not recognising the problem, maybe there is also some progress there?
thanks in advance for any help! It's still possible that there is now a hardware issue, and if so it might respond to resetting the FireWire bus. This can often be done by just unplugging the power cord for a few minutes.

Syncing problem since upgrading to iOS4
I have a 3GS and I recently upgraded to iOS4. I sync my phone to two computers, one at home and one at work, to keep my calendars updated. Since installing iOS4, I've noticed that when I say "merge info" what happens is that the computer wins and erases any calendar events on the iPhone that are not on the computer. In other words, it is NOT merging the info. If I've synced to that same computer most recently then add an iPhone calendar event, that does sync to the computer next time I sync. The problem is only when I switch to the second computer and I have to manually click the calendar sync button.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?
Thanks.I also have this problem. It occurred on my iPod Touch only after I "upgraded" to iOS4, and it has always been the case with my new iPhone. Talking to the Genius Bar, they were surprised I was ever able to do this, and had no idea how to make it work, other than subscribing to MobileMe. But I've seen elsewhere in the forums that that might not even work.

IPhoto will not open since upgrading to OSX 10.8
Hi, has anyone come across this since upgrading to Mountain Lion. iPhoto will not open and I get the below error message. I was previously on OSX 10.6 with all updates applied to the OS. I upgrade the iPhoto app under iLife 11 on OSX 10.6 and it worked fine. Since I upgrade to the new Mountain Lion OS, iPhoto will not open. I tried to rebuild the library using the command and option (alt) key but it will not give me the option to rebuild. Should I attempt to delete the application and reinstall? Any assistance would be gratefully received. Many thanks.

Email not readable since upgrading to Mountain Lion
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion, I am not able to read my email in the upgraded version of Mail. All my emails ON MY MAC are readable as normal, but my Inbox emails are there and I can read the single line information (From, Subject, Date Received, Mailbox) for all my emails but when I try and open one I get the revolving spindle wheel and Loading message. My sent box appears empty unless I send a test email and then all my sent emails appear but again when I try and open one all I get is the same as for my inbox emails. If I quit and reopen Mail, the inbox does not change but all my sent emails "disappear" again. Is this an indexing problem or do I need to rebuild my mailboxes. Although I have back ups, I do not want to take any action to make this situation worse. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,
When you start Messages fro the first time you are asked for an Apple ID
When this is verified and entered it appears in Messages Menu > Preference > Accounts and is Enabled.
The App should have also picked on on those iChat Accounst you had before.
These should be Enabled if they were when you last used iChat.
Exactly which "Accounts" are logged in can be seen in Message Menu > Accounts and will include the iMessage "Account" and Bonjour.
In the Window menu you will see CMD +0 for the Messages window and CMD+1 for the "Buddies" window which is a combined list at this stage.
Go to the Preferences > General Section and Untick the "Collect all accounts into one list".
This will give you separate iChat type Buddy lists.
You can check if that account/Buddy list is set to Invisible or if in the Preferences > Accounts > Security you have settings that will block some people from seeing you as On line.
You are saying Buddies can see you as On Line which implies they are still sending to your AIM based Names (@Mac.com is a valid AIM Screen Name)
I am not sure from your post if you are trying to iMessage their email IDs thinking they are Apple IDs and that they are using Messages as well.
There is no Buddy list for iMessages side
No-one can tell you are "On Line" until they have your details in the "To" spot in Messages with the correct iMessaged contact info (iPhone Number or Apple ID)
Obviously an Apple ID can be an email or look like one.
In some cases they are also valid AIM Screen Names as well.
In the case or the @mac.com name you may have linked this Apple ID to iMessages as well.

since upgrading phone to iOS 5. I have an old macbook pro and it is running snow leopard OS 10.6.8. I have a minimum of 40 recurring events per week, several of which change. I use the information to schedule future appointments based on those changes and it's causeing a major problem to not have the changes sync. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Did you try to replace the calendar info on the phone with the one on your Mac? You can find this option in iTunes/Info pane, Advanced section.

Ipod not recognised after upgrading to iTunes 11.2.2
I upgraded ITunes to version 11.2.2 yesterday afternoon and have tried to update my ipod classic this morning. The ipod is not recognised in ITunes nor does it appear in My Computer. My partner has plugged in her Ipod nano and this is not recognised either. Have done all the recommended troubleshooting, which doesn't work. What's happening? I am using Windows 8 on a brand new laptop.
Hi 22Archie,
If you are having issues with your iPods not being recognized by iTunes on your Windows machines, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful (apologies if you have already seen it):

Wifi syncing not working since upgrading to iOS 6
Has anyone had an issue with and found a solution to wifi syncing after upgrading to iOS 6? I have not been able to get either my iPhone 4 or 3d gen iPad to sync since upgrading last week. I have the latest version of iTunes. I've tried disabling wifi syncing and the closing/restarting iTunes. I've tried turning my iMac's wifi off and on. The devices show, but will not automatically wifi sync.
Thanks in advance!I have a variation on that problem. I upgraded my iPhone 4s and my new iPad to iOS6. No problems synching the new iPad to iTunes wirelessly. My iPhone will not sync wirelessly unless I turn it off, then on again. However, if the phone goes out of wireless range, then returns, it will no longer sync wirelessly to iTunes. Otherwise, the wireless connection appears to be working, e.g., I can connect to the internet.

Gmail push not working since upgrading to 4.0
I have not been able to get my email to push since upgrading to 4.0. I have a 3GS and it worked great until the upgrade. Still have it set to push. Tried deleting itunes completely and then restore of iphone. Still no go. Please help.
I have this problem also. It's really persistent and quite annoying. My Mail is silent like a rock on my iPhone 3gs; it's not pushing email notifications at all. To get new emails, I have to open Mail repeatedly, which defies the very definition of "notification" and "push" I really dislike the 4.0 update. I wish I never upgraded to it because everything was perfectly fine prior to the upgrade...
