Microphone not working when on the phone

Hello. Recently I noticed that my microphone isn't working properly when I call people or vice versa. I ring people rarely so I haven't noticed earlier but this might've happened after 4.4.2 update...?
The microphone works fine when I record a video and works fine when checked in diagnostics. It is very muffled when I'm on the phone and when I check it in the *#*#7378423#*#* service checker.
I tried pretty much everything - reinstalling the update with Sony PC companion, factory data reset, removing my SIM card, running the safety mode, uninstalling apps, disabling google voice services, checking and unchecking all sound improvements (both in Sound and Call settings, eg clear audio+ and microphone noise suppression) and NOTHING WORKED. Not for a second. I read multiple forum threads where people said their microphone would work for a couple of hours and then break again - mine is muffled/broken at all times.
Any suggestions? I'm bringing it to the sony store tomorrow, if they don't fix it I want my money back. A phone should be able to carry out PHONE CALLS.

Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.

I did as you suggested and found the "switch" was already turned on green. I swiched it off waited a while then turned it back on and microphone was back in use in viber. I have a sneaky feeling I may have to do this again in the future. I am not aware that I did anything that led to the microphone going off, but having said that I have only had the phone for a few days so may have done something when checking it out.
The phone has been a lot of fun after replacing my ancient Nokia with it. That Nokia worked in Morse code!

BT Broadband not working when on the phone

Been a BT customer for couple of months.
Multple devices are connected to the Hub no problems but when the phone rings the broadband does not work.
The Hub flashes orange almost everytime when someone is on the phone. Whether it be a outgoing or incoming call.
Only using the master socket for both the phone and the Hub. Using the inbuilt filter on the socket.
If anyone could help with this issue I would greatly appreciate it.
Did not have this issue with Orange Broadband so there must be something wrong on BT's end not ours!

Can you specify your current setup?
Which Hub do you use?
Does your phone socket have the 'Openreach' symbol on it?
Do you use filters?
Is your hub connected to the master socket?
Is your phone connected to an extension socket?

ValentinT, welcome to the forum.
There are no drivers available for Windows 8. I suggest checking in the Control Panel/Sound/Recording to assure that your microphone is selected. It seems that the Sound is one area that gets changed when updating to Win 8.1. At least, this is what happened to me.

That could be an indication your drive is failing. If you do not have a current Backup, that is top priority.

I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.

Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

Hi Ersin,
Exception 1 would seem to be FORMATTING_ERROR, which suggests something in the design of the Smartform. However, that doesn't fit with the form being generated from a report, but only erroring when called from a function module. I can think of no reason why the different calling method would be a factor.
When FORMATTING_ERROR is raise it should also set a message ID and number, are you able to determine what they are?

SSO not working when launching the InfoView application

We are so close to implementing SSO for BO Edge 3.0 using AD and Kerberos. We can logon to InfoView and CMC using AD authenication and it works fine. When turning on SSO:

The Vintela SSO document for BOE XI 3.1 is very comprehensive, but it has not resolved my issue.
Under NTLM option I SSO works great with .NET InfoView as long as I have the web site authentication set to Windows Authentication and ASP .NET Authentication enabled. Once the ASP .NET is disabled, SSO does not work.
When using the Kerberos option, .NET InfoView SSO does not work due to the error 'propagating the security context between the security server and the client'.
The Java InfoView SSO does not work either, but I can enter my user credentials and logon fine.

No user name is being passed. I've been through a multitude of documents and forums ensuring settings are correct and I believe they are including no duplicate SPN's.
The only issue on the server is that I cannot open the tomcat confi app. due to it not able to start service BOE120Tomcat. I was able to update the registry with the info for the bsclogin.config and krb5.ini. I was not able to find anything on getting that service started.
Any ideas? Need more info? I have a bunch.

supposedly from what I have read it is a software issue. I actually am also having this problem it worked after I performed a full reset, but now it has started again tomorrow I am going to the apple store to find out what I can do as I bought my 4s right before the 5 was released.

I took my Bionic back to Verizon yesterday. I am not getting 4G data, and it will not work in the car dock. When I got to the store, I had 4G, and it worked perfectly in the dock, all he did was sit it in. This phone must only work in the store, maybe that is why they released it before it was ready.
The Verizon technician told me that there were problems with the phone, but that the responsibility belonged to Motorola. He said there was going to be an update in November and that I should wait. This concerns me because it means Verizon will pass the buck on this one.
What choice do I have? My return period is way over. I am paying for a service that I don't have yet I can't get out of it. If the phone can't be fixed by a software update, then what? At that point, I will either hope for a class action suite, or cancel my contract and pay $350 so that I can get a decent phone....iPhone from AT&T. That would be cheaper than buying a new phone from Verizon under my current contract. I can't keep a phone that never works.
I think yesterday was like the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I tried for 15 min to get the car dock to work, and nothing would turn it on. That is when I just drove to Verizon. I figured they should see one more unhappy customer in person instead of just online...alas, no one there gave a **bleep** and they are still trying to sell the Bionic to the unsuspecting customer. It should be pulled off of the shelf until it is fixed.

My Bionic did it again. It is not recognizing the car dock, and it is not getting data connection. I sat in a La Madelains for 15 min hoping for data. Then, when I drove home, I tried the car dock...nothing. This is basically a little 3G tablet with WiFi and a phone. I can do most of that better with my iPad.

When using skype, my internal mic is not working properly - friend says he cant hear the voice, but can hear other sounds - music on youtube for example. Ive tested microphone on Skype Echo - it was not working at all. I have tested it on Voice recorder - microphone was working properly. Also when I just started using this laptop (3 days ago) i have talked with friend through Skype for about 3 hours, and then he could not hear me annymore suddenly. So something is wrong with skype. Computer advisor suggested me to contact skype support tehnicians.

Microphone not working when using Skype

My microphone is not working properly. I went into the settings and adjusted the input volume and tried to test call on Skype but it still isn't picking up any sound. Please let me know how to fix this.

To verify if Mic is working, go to:
System Preferences-->Speech-->Speech Recognition-->Calibrate
If you see the colored meter bouncing when sound is made (just start talking out loud), then the mic is fine. Delete the current version of Skype, download the newest and try again.

Internal microphone not working when on battery

The title says the main problem. When I'm plugged into the power, the microphone works perfectly. Then I unplug it, it works for several seconds (trying arecord and aplay several times), then after that it doesn't work anymore. The sound output still works.
Obviously I thought it was laptop-mode, but when I disabled laptop-mode and try the same procedure it still has the same problem. When I plug the power back in, it doesn't automatically go back, but I have to restart alsa daemon (and when I do, everything works once again).
Has anyone come across this or similar issue?
Btw my netbook is Acer Aspire One 722
