Microphone's not working on windows 8

I have a compaq presario v6000 notebook with Conexant HD Audio.
The driver for Vista x86 works well. The only problem that I am getting is the non functional driver.
Speakers are working fine. External mic is also working but the built in stereo microphone is not.
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello manee21.  I understand you're trying to locate a driver for your sound card.
I would suggest first trying HP Support Assistant.  This will try to locate any missing drivers for your system as well as their updates.  If this doesn't work I'd like to try to locate the drivers manually.  In order to do this I will need the Hardware IDs.  Try the following.
Press the Windows+X key combination.  This opens the Context Menu.
Select Device Manager.
Do you see an "Other Devices" section? If so, expand it.
Right click on each "Unknown Device" and select Properties.
Navigate to the Details tab.
Select "Hardware IDs" from the drop down menu.
Post what is listed in the window.
I will keep an eye out for your reply.  I hope you have a great day!
Please click the white star under my name to give me Kudos as a way to say "Thanks!"
Click the "Accept as Solution" button if I resolve your issue.

    Hi,
Audio redirection might not be configured correctly for the virtual machine, I recommend you refer to the audio\sound\usb redirection guide for the type of your virtual machine.

If the settings are set correctly, then please check the driver for the
Microphone, update the driver, it also might be a driver compatibility issue with Windows Technical Preview.

  • MICROPHONE IS NOT WORKING WITH WINDOWS 8

HI,RECENTLY IAM UPGRADED MY LAPTOP HP G60 WINDOWS VISTA TO WINDOWS 8.FROM THAT,INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL MICROPHONE IS NOT WORKING..IS IT I NEED ANY DRIVER SOFTWARE?ANYBODY HAVE SOLUTION FOR THIS ISSE?

    Hello elshadica,
HP is not going to support hardware for Windows 8 on any system purchased before Oct 1st 2011.  Most Windows 7 drivers will work in Windows 8.
Check out this page to see if your computer has been tested by HP with Windows 8.
You can run the Upgrade assistant software, which will scan your PC and generate a report on what is currently installed on your PC is compatible with Windows 8.  This upgrade guide for Windows 8 provides a lot of information that is needed for anyone considering upgrading.
    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!

  • Satellite L300-1A3 - Microphone is not working with Windows 7

Hello, I have a problem with integrated microphone on my laptop.
Mic comes with web cam chicony and under Windows 7 camera works just fine but microphone don't work at all.
Does anybody have solution to that problem?
Under vista microphone is working fine but I wanted to try Windows 7 on laptop and everything is working excellent except microphone.
    Regards in advance.

Thanks for reply. Strange is that all hardware has been properly installed, i have installed drivers from: chipset including graphic and sound card, lan, wlan, camera, aver tv card in express card slot, and everything is working great, except integrated microphone. Camera and sound are installed with vista drivers and both are working well. Win 7 in general is much better for this laptop than vista, runs very fast and stable. I will rather buy external microphone, if this couldn't be sorted out, then installing vista again.

  • Microphone on Macbook pro does not work in windows 7 with parallels

I recently purchased a Macbook pro with retina display, and installed windows 7 on the macbook with parallels desktop 7.  I found out my microphone was not working correctly inside windows, I did bought my laptop to Apple store, at first we thought it was the microphone problem and exchanged me a new laptop, but the issue still exits, so I bought the laptop back to Apple store, this time we find out it seems like the microphone only not working under the windows, it works just fine in Mac part.
Apple direct me to windows telling me that I might need to install a device or driver only windows can provide; then when I contacted window, Windows told me I need to contact apple because the device or deriver must provided by the manufacture of the PC.  Both side still direct me back to each other, so I still don't know what deriver or device I needed..........
When I pull up the device manager inside windows, the only device listed under sound is "Parallels Audio Controller (x64)"
Another thing is, the microphone still works inside windows 7, it's just not working correctly.  For an example, if I'm doing a live chatting with my friends inside windows, I can hear my friends and they can hear me too, but they cannot hear me very clearly, it seems like there are some kind of negative feedback, it seems like there's an electronic vibrate in my voice.
    Can someone please help me
    Thank you

I have been searching the web extensively, without success, to find how to resolve this issue.
I recently installed Windows 7, 32 bit, on my wife's HP Pavilion dv6748us laptop. Now her internal microphone does not work.
Have gotten some "roadside" advice to use a Windows Vista driver; Have no idea what the driver is or how to get it.
Have found some information about uninstalling realtek audio driver and reinstalling an older version; Have no idea on this one either.
Would really appreciate a definitive answer with a positive result.
    Thanks for all help.
The drivers for the laptop are located here. select Vista and Driver-audio. The Vista driver should work.  You can uninstall the driver from within the Device manager. Start --> type devmgmt.msc and the device manager will open. Locate the HD audio device and right-click it and update the driver.
After that is done go to Control Panel and Sound and the recording tab up top.  Check to see if the microphone is grayed out. (not grayed out means driver is properly installed). The microphone should also have a green checkmark next to it.  It is now a matter of selecting the microphone then selecting Properties to enable the microphone and then  test and adjust the input level. Look at the tabs (listen, levels and advanced).
Had you considered trying Windows update or the Realtec website as a drivers source?

    Hi:
Looking at your system information you could have one of two possible audio cards:
Conexant HD audio or the RealTek HD Audio
The fact that you couldn't install the RealTek HD audio driver indicates to me that you don't have a RealTek audio card. Check your device manager and look at your sound card and check to make sure which audio card you have.
Here is the Vista 32 bit driver for the Conexant audio card:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
Here is the Vista 32 bit driver for the Realtek audio card:
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...
If you in fact have the Realtek audio card, I would download and install the latest, greatest HD driver directly from the RealTek site:
Accept the agreement, download and install the first one on the list. Maybe it has been updated to fix the issue you are experiencing.

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion g4-2020tx Notebook and Bluetooth not working. Here are some links that might help.  I would check to make sure Bluetooth is on. It shows you how to do that under Connecting Bluetooth. A device such as computer might need to have the Discovery setting turned on. To turn on Discovery in Windows 8, from the Start screen, type Change Bluetooth to open the Search charm, and then select Change Bluetooth settings from the search results.  Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • Why do my Apple Earpod Microphones not work with Windows 7?

My laptop has 3 ports (Microphone, and 2 headphone ports), and I've got a VERY bad external mic, that I might be giving to someone else, because I have Earpods. The only thing is, the Earpods don't have a microphone cable as well as a headphone cable, and the Earpod microphone doesn't work with Windows 7! Can anyone give me the drivers for it or something? I really love the quality of these headphones and it also means I don't have to lean towards my microphone (my desk won't allow me to move the mic any closer to me). Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • [XP64] Microphone does not work in WinXP 64

Hi,In Windows XP 64bit my microphone does not work, tried it in Ventrilo 2., Skype and even in the Windows Recorder. The computer don't detect any sound. Offcourse?I have selected the microphone in the recordering section in the Windows volume panel and the volume at maxium. Also in the volume panel under playback the microphone is not mute, set to max volume. I have also installed WinXP 32bits and here it works OK with exactly the same settings. Thats why I think it is because of my Soundcard driver, I have installed the latest driver from this site. I have a SoundBlaster X-Fi Fatality. Is there anyone with a X-Fi soundcard with the same problem or anyone where the microphone works in WinXP 64bit's Or is it a known problem? Please help me

Hi Theicewarrior,?Creative support has been aware of this issue for quite some time (6+ months, maybe even a year). The 4GB+?RAM driver/addressing issues are not a priority or they would have been addressed quite some time ago.
Presumably this is due to functional Vista drivers for the masses being a higher priority than the relati'vely few of us with 4GB+ RAM and an X-Fi.
While the X-Fi?is a great card, my only wish was that the vendor was forthright about this product not functioning with certain configurations. It is my feeling that?making an effort to help?customers choose?products that will work with their configurations would result in satisfied and repeat customers?and a better bottom line?as opposed to?eeking a few extra dollars out of a slightly larger customer base and?who are then left unsatisfied with a product and unwilling to buy a company's products in the future.Message Edited by Foddan on 07-9-20070:45 AM

  • Re: Satellite Pro L500-1PU - internal microphone does not work

    I have an L500 -1PU Toshiba, running on 32 bit Windows 7,
The webcam is working wonderfully but the internal microphone is not working properly.
I had an external microphone so i hadn't noticed this problem when i got on skype, but i've recently discovered that when using the webcam the person on the other end can hear faint noises from my computer when i'm playing music or watching a video clip.
How can i solve this and get my microphone working properly such that i can control the volume and actually get full service from my otherwise decent notebook?
    Thanks

    Hi
Possibly this Toshiba FAQ could help you:
+Whistling sound on the Satellite L500+
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB0402UB0001R01.htm
Its a matter of the settings.
This issue occurs if the microphone volume in the speakers properties is enabled.
After disabling this point the issue with acoustic feedback does not appear anymore.
    Hope this helps!

  • Microphone does not work after restarting computer

I just received the Creative Xmod soundcard yesterday after using an Icemat siberia usb headset sound card for a couple months. The sound is a lot better with the creative soundcard however, if I restart my computer and go back into ventrilo, my microphone does not work. It doesnt make any sound when I talk into it (almost as if it muted itself) but it hasnt. I check my sound settings and everything is the way it should be.....but the mic isnt producing any sound. It is not my headphones that is causing the problem because I have never had this problem with my old icemat soundcard. I am currently using :
    Sennheiser PC350 headset
    Windows XP Home Edition
    The newest version of Ventrilo

    http://picsend.net/images/240403ventsetup.JPG
That is how I have ventrilo setup. A friend of mine said I should Mux set to Record Control, but it only gives me the option for Wave In =/
