Microphone sounds like under water since update

Me and my boyfriend both updated our phones a few months ago and since then when we have calls, people always comment one minute they can hear us, the next it's like we are under water and they can't hear a word, This is extremely annoying as we always have signal and it's only been an issue since update, Anyone else having same problem? We both have z1 compact, was told by Sony to repair software but we will lose stuff if don't save it and can take an hour but why should we have to do this when fault isn't ours?!

  • Conversation sounds like under water (bubbling) iphone 3g

Yesterday on about 25% the calls I made or received on my iphone 3g, the person who answered sounded like they were underwater. What I mean is that their voice was unintelligible, and sounded like something buubling up from under water. If you are old enough to remember what the underwater people sounded like on 'Stingray', well, it was like that.
    It's the same today.
I also have that thing going on where the first time I make a call it fails and I have to make the call again. That happens about 25% of the time as well.
Plus, my phone has been slow since I updated the software just after the iphone 4 came out, but that's old news now, withy still no solution.
I am on the latest version of iOS4
Any ideas anyone - a reset hasn't helped me.

I have the exact same problems - 'underwater' calls and first time call failing. Just 'googled' this before marching the phone back to Carphone Warehouse!! I have 3gs using software version 4.1 and am on O2 also.
I know I've not been any help - but at least it appears to not just be you!

  • MDR-10RBT - Bluetooth connection - microphone sounds like I am 100 miles away

    MDR-10RBT - Bluetooth connection -
I have got these headphones connection to my laptop and they are showing up as connected as both a A2DP device and also a hands free headphone.
I have directed Skype to use the hands free device for the microphone but it sounds like I am stuck in a box 100 miles from the microphone.
Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas on how to fix?
    Thanks
    Phil

  • Microphone, sounds like a rob

Sometimes, when i open voip programs like xfire/teamspeak/ventrilo to talk with people, they tell me that i sound like a robot, so i pop into the option menu to check and indeed, they have right. This only happens a few times, and often fix it self by restarting the voip program.
    PC spec:
    Vista x64
    X-FI Xtrememusic
    Asus P5K-E
    4gb ram
    8800gts 640mb
Anyone know what this can be? beside this robot like voice i get sometimes there is no other problem i have had so far. running the latest 0002 driver from the site.

Yeah I had the same mic problem when using those drivers, mic works fine with the older march release drivers, & I think with the may release drivers too......just not the 2.5.0002 version

  • My microphone sounds like a robot/ underwater to other users.

Hi, whenever I join a call with my friends whether it be audio only or audio + video, my microphone becomes distorted and my friends cannot even make out a word that I am saying. This only occurs in the client version of Skype and when I use the web version, my audio is 100% clear and non-distorted. I have tested my mic on other programs and it is fine too. I have disabled my webcam mic so I know it is not that. I have a HyperX Cloud headset in case that helps solve anything. Thanks!

Skype needs some serious recoding ASAP...

  • Music sounds like it is under water

    Hi all,
I recently got a new computer... IBM Thinkpad T43 and I installed iTunes 6. Now when I play music it sounds like it is under water or experiencing interference from somewhere. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing but that didn't help.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

I experience the exact problem, but I cant find the topic where there was a solution posted... my ITunes Music very often sounds like under water, static interferences and all the rest of it, but the files are not damaged, they work perfectly well in WMP, WinAmp, RealPlayer...

  • IPOD sounds like it's being played under water on a very old record player!

I've had no end of technology problems lately. I transfered all of my mp3s and IPOD info to my new external hard drive. Which I can no longer access. I downloaded iTunes to my C drive again and plugged in my IPOD. It was not recognized by Windows or iTunes. I was forced to unplug it while it still read "do not unplug" or whatever the warning message is. Two nights later (last night), I tried again and was able to get it registered to my laptop and new version of iTunes.
I was all excited and downloaded a bunch of Podcasts, thinking that all was well! But it's not I'm at work trying to listen and my new podcasts and pre-existing music are all garbled! It's not every second of every file, but it's a majority of it. The files sound "scratchy" and like you're hearing it from under water - kinda muffled and "bubbly?" I'm not sure if I'm making any sense, but it's freaking me out!
    how do I fix?

Thanks to a Best Buy GeekSquad member, I figured out that my IPOD was fine, but my headphones were toasted!!!

  • When using Skype my IPad sounds like ocean. This is not a problem when I am on FaceTime or using other apps with sound.  Recently updated to newest IOS 7. First there was no sound for Kype and found that had to turn microphone sound on.

When using Skype my IPad 2 now sounds like the ocean and I can barely here my contact.  This happened recently after IOS7 update. I did turn the microphone on for Skype as it was required after update.  Now my sound is terrible but only a problem when using Skype video call.  It is okay for FaceTime.

Thank you!  Resetting resolved the issue with terrible sound when trying to use skype.  Sounds much better!
I am not sure what all changed when reset was applied to settings --- assume it defaults back to basic settings.  I have no idea what I had customized, so will slowly figure out.  I have noticed several things.  So far I had to add back my wallpaper and reenter password to get back on my wi-fi.
At least SKYPE is now audible.

I would have your carrier check out the iPhone. But I have had this issue with other cell phones and beleive it to be related to how good of a connection your have to the cell tower.

  • SB Audigy2 ZS PCI+Logitech Headset= Voice sounds like its under water

I tried using my Logitech Headset this evening on my desktop to communicate with my buds over mumble while playing BF3 and no matter how many settings I messed around with in both Win7 x64 or the mumble software my voice was crackled and distorted. Now I know for a fact my headset is not the problem, since I use it daily on my laptop at work to talk to people over Skype & GoToMeeting and I'm crystal clear and I even plugged it back into my lappy afterwards and listened to myself speak, and it was fine. The problem must be with the Sound Card. Is this something to do with the settings or is this a sign my card/drivers are bad?

    Hi,
Disconnect your headset and just plug in a microphone and do a microphone recording. Playback what you have recorded, do you sound like you are underwater? That will narrow down if it's the sound card that's causing the problem. Also try running other games to see if same problem is happening.

  • Sounds like it's under water!

I'm trying to clean some traffic noise from behind dialogue that was recorded at a busy intersection.
Using Set Noise Print and Reduce Noise.
I can get the traffic sounds down but the resulting audio sounds tinny and like it's under water.
    Any way around this problem?

That usually happens when you try to remove too much noise relative to the signal you want to retain. When using the Sountrack Pro noise removal tool, try to preview the sound/track in question with the "Noise Only" option enabled. Then, tweak the noise-reduction so that as little (technically none but...) of the original signal that you want to keep is audible. The treble/bass slider can be very effective with dialogue.
Additionally you can lower the threshold and the amount of reduction, but just play around until you get the result which works the best.
However, you can never remove 100% of broadband noise without affecting the original/intended signal. It's more a choice of the end relationship which hopefully is satisfactory.
A couple different ones. They work.   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   RME FF800, Logic Pro, Sonnox Native Bundle & FCS

Maybe you should define "fuzzy". If it's the same as "distorted", you should check if either the single track meters or the general volume meter in GB show clipping. Generally GB is more tolerant and you only hear it on the mixdown.
