MicroPhoto Not Detec

Hey folks,
My player didn't seem to come with any firmware, whenever I started it the player would just start in Recovery Mode. I tried Clean-Ups and Reboots and that didn't solve anything, so after reading a bit I Formatted it, then did the Driver Reload and it did those fine. But, when I connect it via USB to my computer it charges and my computer detects it but the driver file, when run, does not detect my player so I'm stuck at the moment.
I read in another place about changing USB permission in the registry and I did that, no luck. Rebooted my computer etc.
Is there some driver I'm missing for the player itself? I checked the MicroPhoto downloads on Creative's Support but there were no drivers and it didn't come with a CD.
Also, my Notmad Manager doesn't detect it either. But the player does charge and display the 'connected to pc' image and I can see the data storage dri've in Windows Explorer but nothing else. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
System specs if it will help,
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
024MB Ram
Intel P4 3.6GHz Processor
Windows Media Player 9

I am having the same problem ?My ZMP was working just fine when I got it in June, I have hundreds of songs and pics on it already. Then one day it stopped being detected by the creative software. Mine also shows up in the device manager, and when i plug it in it charges and everything. I don't know what to do. I have been in contact with people from support for almost 2months now and they still haven't helped. I have un-installed and re-installed the software from the cd multiple time and still nothing is fixed. I have even downloaded and updated from the creative site, and i'm still having the same problem. Anyone have any ideas??Lauren

  • Creative Zen Microphoto Not Detec

    Hello all,
I bought a Creative Zen Microphoto yesterday and when I try and plug it in to my USB port nothing happens. I've tried holding the on/off button, I've tried it when it's on. I've tried all of my USB Ports. I've tried it on two different computers.
My computers are running Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I've disabled Norton while trying all of the above. Before plugging my mp3 player in I installed all the software that come on the CD.
    Just to clarify this:
The Microphoto won't charge, be detected, etc while in the USB port. It runs fine off my PC ( plays the pre-installed songs, etc ) but as I cannot plug it in to my PC to charge it, add, songs, etc I cannot add my own songs.
Windows doesn't even pop up saying new hardware has been detected, or a USB device has been detected. It just remains how it was before I plugged the device in to my PC.
My computer doesn't show it in removalable devices, nor in Windows Media Player 0.
    Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.Message Edited by Kemik on 07-3-2006 05:3 AM

Try this, go into the Control Panel and click Add/Remove Hardware. Just click next and see if it detects newly added hardware.
Can your computer detect any old flash dri've?

  • New Zen MicroPhoto not seen by XP or Vi

I'm a total newbie to Creative MP3 players. Just got one yesterday from Electronica Direct via Amazon's store. Running Vista on an HP Pavilian dual core (just 3 months old so very new cutting edge hardware) and running XP on a 5 year old Sony Vaio laptop. Both have latest MS service paks and security fixes.
Also, I appear to be running latest Creative stuff since when I check for updates it reports it doesn't find any. The Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer reports v5.0.2 and:
Creative Import Wizard File (Version .0.25.0)
Creative Audio CD Ripper (Version 5.00.20)
    Creative Sync Manager (Version 5.20.09)
    Creative Playlist Wizard (Version 3..5.0)
    PIM Editor (Version .3.0.0)
Creative Media Explorer reports on both PCs when Zen MicroPhoto plugged into USB:
"Your player is not connected. Please connect your Zen MicroPhoto to the computer."
I can play the music that comes with the Zen. I have used the supplied cable to plug into various USB ports on both PCs. Each time the Creative Media Explorer reports it doesn't see anything.
Under System info the MicroPhoto reports it is version .20.0.
If I unplug the USB plug from the MicroPhoto and then plug it in the MicroPhoto starts itself up. So does that mean it is seeing something electrically from the PC?
In both XP and Vista if I try to close the Zen MicroPhoto Media Explorer clicking on the red X does not close it.
In the HP Vista Device Manager under Portable Devices I only see:
    USB CF Reader
    USB MS Reader
    USB SD Reader
    USB SM Reader
Right clicking and doing "Scan for hardware changes" does not help.
In the HP Vista Device Manager under "Uni'versal Serial Bus controllers" I see Intel chips, a USB Mass Storage Device and a bunch of USB Root Hub entries. No Creative device. Also, doing "Scan for hardware changes" does not help in this category either.
Similarly, I do not see the Zen MicroPhoto in the XP Vaio's Device Manager. The Vaio XP Device Manager does not show a "Portable Devices" entry in the main list.
Also, the Vaio's original USB ports are v.. If plug into one of them I can power up the MicroPhoto. The Vaio also has PCMCIA USB 2.0 extender ports and they appear not to provide enough power to start up the MicroPhoto. Does the MicroPhoto need USB 2.0?
I am open to suggestions for things to try...

Bump... I am having issues with duplicate tracks and allt he other crap that goes with mediasource...any help to get my explorer back would be appreciated.

  • Zen microphoto not charging through

I'm trying to charge my zen microphoto in a friends computer and it just won't charge. The signal is flashing the computer recognizes the device but the battery is still in /3 although there's been 6 hours since I plugged it...
note that I have a usb connection, that the computer is a laptop, I don't have the software installed, and I haven't updated the firmware...
    what could be wrong?

For my Micro there is an option that you can set the player in Lock mode and then insert the usb cable to the pc which has not drivers installed to enable charging of the player. Try that out.
However, this is with an updated firmware to at least ..0 for my zen micro. Check with the microphoto firmware for more infoMessage Edited by microm3 on 08-02-2006 0:9 PM

  • MicroPhoto not recogniz

Well.. this is getting me mad. I reformated earlier on today and installed all the windows updates ect including SP2. Before I formated, my MicroPhoto was detected and I was able to add songs and do whatever I wanted with the media explorer. I just installed all the software again and my micro photo isnt detected.. but it does charge through the USB. When I installed the software the first time my player WASNT plugged in.. so I removed everything and re-installed the software with the player plugged into the USB. Still.. nothing works. I have no idea what to do.. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Edit: I just read the manual and it sais to NOT hook up the player when installing the software.. so ill try it again. Doubt it's going to work.
Edit #2: I tried it. It didnt work.

Download this file. Extract it to whatever folder you like. Run the fixup.cmd program and just wait until all the messages go away and it instructs you to remove the player from Device Manager and reconnect it. Do this and see if it will work.
Also download the 3 hotfixes listed here.

  • Not detec

When I connect my Zen MicroPhoto, my computer pops window that says that it is connected and it recognizes it as the MicroPhoto. However, when i try to do anything with it in a program, the program says its not connected. I have two MicroPhotos, and both do the same thing. The Knowledge base said I should reload the firmware like they always say. So erased the firmware in the recovery mode, but now the firmware intaller can't find the player. Does anyone know what I can do fix this? I've already tried reinstalling/updating the drivers and completely reinstalling the creative software. Thank you!

I had the same problem. What worked for me was that I got a different USB cord and I was able to get Media Explorer to recognize it and reload the firmware.

  • MicroPhoto Not Working On Vi

When I plug the MP3 player to the computer, Vista runs the driver software installation. However it tells me that the MTP Device fails everytime!!? Now, my MP3 player no longer shows up as connected on EITHER computer of mine. One runs XP, the other runs Vista. Please help!
    !!! I am running MicroPhoto Firmware .3.0

You need to update the Firmware to 2.xx.xx version - can be done only on a XP machine.
Firmware .xx.xx is PDE - not supported in Vista
2.xx.xx is MTP - works in Vista
That is the INCORRECT FIRMWARE FOR THE MICROPHOTO. The correct CURRENT firmware is the .3.0

  • MY CREATIVE ZEN M NOT DETECED BY WINDOWS OR ZEN ME

HELLO, i have a serious situation here. i had my zen for about 3 months and i love it. but about 2 weeks ago, i wanted to transfer new music and video to my player. i noticed at first that not all my music shows in my zen media or my windows media. i do have all the componets to my cpu. i have windows xp serivce pak 2 and i have windows media 0. well n-e way, i also have real player. i pulled real player and i noticed that every piece of music and video i have was there. so i decided to sync it to my device using real. at first it transferred, so of course i get ready for bed and i noticed it was taking a while. so i figured when i get up it will be done. well it wasn't, it only transferred four songs and it downloaded everything from my cpu to my device. i had folders in there that i never seen. so i figured let me delete everything and start over, but using windows media. when i did that, it tells me that windows media player does not detect a portabel device, connect your device, and then try again. so i clicked on the web help option that comes with that error to see if they can give me some info. it gives me a code c00d79 and that is the reason why it is not connecting. so i searched the internet to see if i can anything comes under this code, join discussions and also email creative. alot of info i have found in the codes, but not this paritcular one. then i called dell techincal support because that is where i purshaced my zen. they couldn't help me. so today i went to the knowledge support and i found info on the same problem that i am experiencing. so i did everything. checked the device manager. my comp reads that the zen is there, but windows and media doesn't. so i did the back up regristy and also for the usb, still nothing. so it says to contact tech support and of course, there is none, unless u pay a fee. i work long hours and the hours are impossible for me to contact. the only way is if they work weekends and they dont. i am lost at this point. it will be 3 weeks exactly tomorrow that my zen is not working. i can not go another day without my device. i am starting to think i need to return my device for a new one. this is my last option. PLEASE HELP ME!!

    Anyone who can help?
    Please!
At least give me some ideas please.

  • Zen MicroPhoto not playing tracks in proper ord

    Hey all,
Just got this player and it is pretty good. Having one problem though. Some albums do not play songs in the proper order. Instead they are played in alphabetical order. I checked the tag information on the player and it reads the tracks as having no track number. And when I check them through Zen Media Explorer no track numbers are there. But Windows Explorer clearly shows the proper track numbers in the tag information.
I think the player does not read some tags properly. I had a Phillips based player before this one and it did not have this problem, nor did my RCA Lyra.
This is a make or break situation for this player. I need it to play my album songs in the proper order.
    Thanks,
    Ply

    Ok,
Found out what was wrong. Dragging and dropping through Windows explorer was causing the problem. Dragging and dropping through the Zen explorer properly transfers the track tags. Don't know why it makes a difference, but ohwell, at least it works now...

  • Setup program tells me my SB Live! 5.1 is not detec

    Hi,
I bought a SB Li've! 5. a few months back, and for some reason the place I bought it from was selling the Asian edition. I don't li've in Asia nor any region close to it, but the card was cheap and I figured the hardware is exactly the same in Asia as it would be anywhere else. I installed it initially without a problem, and then a month or so ago I uninstalled all the software that came with it as I had a problem with the mixer - it was showing speaker setups that I don't possess as the only selectable options in the speaker configuration part of the mixer.
I have managed to lose my installation CD, and so I downloaded the latest drivers off the Creative website thinking they should work. However, even though I chose Asia as my region, when I ran the file I got the message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster audio card on your system" shortly after the package was unzipped and the installation program was initialised. I manually installed the Creative Diagnostics package, ran it, and the hardware detection failed. Strangely, if I manually installed the driver from that exact driver package, XP detected the card fine and installed it as "Creative EMU0K", and I had sound again. It's just the peripheral packages (mixer, CreativeHQ etc) that I am having problems with.
I have since tried downloading another Creative SB Li've! driver installation package, which gives me the same error. The two drivers I have tried were called Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe and Li'veDrvPack.exe.
What do I have to do to properly identify my soundcard? Is there a program I can run that will tell me exactly what version of chipset my soundcard possesses? Or, failing that, is there something I can see on the card itself that might tell me what version it is? And from there, how do I go about getting the right driver package off the internet?
I have recently purchased an awesome speaker system (Logitech X620) and am itching to hear it in all its glory, but this little problem is preventing me from doing so. Any help or advice you can offer me in getting my SB Li've! 5. working will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I give up on this card! I actually have it working and playing all of the speakers in my 5. setup but I have no idea how I did it. I had the card for awhile without knowing anything was wrong because I had a 2 speaker setup. About a week ago I picked up a set of 5. speakers. I started up Half-Life 2 expecting to get better spacial effects. After playing for awhile I was unimpressed and for a second thought maybe surround sound wasn't all it was cracked up to be when the thought came to me to check to make sure all the speakers were playing. They weren't. So I popped in the Li've! Installation CD hoping it would fix the problem. It didn't. In fact, AudioHQ started giving me an error that I didn't have a compatible soundcard after the reinstall. I notice of the 3 installation disk I have, one has a "for XP" tacked on the end. So I pop that one in and reinstall everything only to get the same results. I uninstall and reinstall repeatedly with different settings with no result. I go to the website for updated drivers only to get the "Could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio Card" message. I use WinZip to unzip the exe file and manually install everything like Jeremy suggested and at least I get sound again but still no center or surround speaker output. I fool with some settings and amazingly get the center to play. Still unsatisfied with the surround speakers not playing I decide to look into the KX drivers. I install them and seem to get all the speakers playing then after the restart I get no sound at all. So i decide to use System restore to go back to just before I installed the KX drivers in hope that I haven't lost center speaker sound again. Miraculously after the System Restor all the speakers are playing! I'm still afraid to open AudioHQ or any of the Sound Blaster software in fear that it might reset everything and I have no idea if another restart will kill the center and surround speakers again. Hopefully this info can somehow help someone figure out how to get this nightmare of a card to work the way it should.

  • X-Fi Xtreme Gamer not detec

    Hi all,
I, like many it seems, am having the not detected problem with my X-Fi card that I bought yesterday. I removed the old audio drivers, restarted and disabled onboard sound, and turned off and installed the card. When I turn my PC back on, the light comes on the X-Fi in the optical out, but when it gets into windows, no new hardware is detected and the installer doesn't find the card. I also can't seem to find it in the device manager. Anyone got any ideas?
    Cheers,
    gamer

Problem fixed... Just reaseated the card in the PCI slot and it worked. Probably wasn't in properly. Thanks anyway.

  • How to download flash video when a flv extension is not detecable

Standard methods for saving videos are not working for a particular file I'm trying to save. If you know of a third party app that can download flash video (where the video owner has not enabled viewing of the flv file), please help. Thanks.

If you have set a blank Administrator password, then the install should go forward with the blank password.
If not, then I would assume it to be a problem with your operating system.  Contact Apple.

  • XFI-Extreme Music-Microphone is not detec

First of hey and sorry if this is an appropriate post but i looked at the stickies and they didn't help so im posting.
Ive had a XFI card for almost over 2 years now and obviously i have been using the sound for it but i haven't connected my microphone to it as I've have been using the realtek drivers on my motherboard but last week i lost on microphone input and had to resort to using a USB mic that i borrowed, thinking it was my headset i brought another and tried today and its still not recognizing my voice. So i plugged the mic in my XFI port and tried to see if it reconises voice but it doesn't, but when i go through the help and set up software and it asks to speak out the sentence it doesn't pick it up but if i turn the mic on and off it picks up sound for a brief second. I updated all drivers both for the card and motherboard and tried using both headsets which both work perfectly and still no luck so im asking outto you guys if you had the same problems and have the solution to my problem.
    Thanks in advanced

I guess that should have been more obvious than it was :smileysurprised: yes, I had 'what you hear' selected. That would also explain why muting the playback of the mic was stopping people hearing me on vent/teamspeak.
just going to go check this now, thank you. Two pairs of eyes/brains better than one and all that.
    [edit]
yes, that was precisely it - I feel ever so slightly embarrassed but thank you for the help.
