  • MicroSD card for my cell

I've got a SanDisc MicroSD card for my cell phone, which is a LG VX8300. I've had no luck getting music to play on the phone yet, but thats another issue. Today I plugged the card into my iMac, and it says I can only read, not write. How can I change this?! It didn't say that before, I don't know what changed. I tried putting the card back into my phone and formatting it, but no luck. Please help!

zkatrina1017, Welcome to the discussion area!
Did you happen to format the card as NTFS? The Mac
can read NTFS but not write to it.
My phone doesn't give an option as to the format, so I'm not sure what format it has, when I view the information it says this is the format: "MS-DOS File System (FAT16)"...I've formatted the card before and its allowed me to both read and write...I'm stumped.

  • MicroSD Card for Droid X

How well does the 32 GB microSD Card work with the Droid X?

Could you give me some detailed instructions on what you think is the best way to format my 32 GB card? I have one but have not yet attempted to use it. (I am waiting for the Verizon corporate store where I purchased my first Droid X to get more in stock so that I can return/exchange the first one with the bad speaker for another brand new one with a speaker that works.)
My computer is a Dell Precision M6300/Nvidia 3600M running XP Pro (purchased two and one half years ago). I did not know this until just now - apparently, I have a slot on the side of my computer that says SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD. Dell describes this as "5-in-1 Media Memory Card Reader". I also see two other slots that Dell describes as a "smart card slot" and as an "express card slot" respectively. These slots seem large, though the 32 GB card I purchased from Verizon comes with a "full size SD adapter". I have never used any cards of this or any related kinds. I presume the adapter will fit into the SDMMC-MS/Pro-xD 5-in-1 Media Memory Card slot? Okay, but if so, are there different kinds of formats, or different ways to format a single/particular format kind?
If there is more than one way to format the card, can you (Wildman or any other person kind enough to help and give instructions to me as though I were a six year old) please tell me exactly what I might try doing so that it is well formatted for use with a Droid X?
I would deeply appreciate any/all instructions/comments. Thanks in any case.

  • Recommended MicroSD cards for N82?

I'm planning on buying an new MicroSD card and wondered what people's opinions were on which was the best make and size for storage, and performance.
I currently use the 2Gb card supplied by Nokia, but I also have a 2Gb SanDisk card I'm not currently using.
Your opinions are all gratefully received with thanks in advance.

Seconded - although I'd never heard of Lexar before. SanDisk and Kingston are the brands I tend to recommend, and I've had an 8GB SanDisk card in my N95 for a while now.
FWIW, Nokia does sell an 8GB card, the MU-43, but the price will probably be rather steep. They sell the MU-41, a 4GB card, already at about twice the price of everyone else's 8GB cards.

  • 2 GB microSD card for N3250

I think the 3250 will only support 1 Gig of memory card!
i just thought if it needs only a firmware upgrade. it may be just like the 6230 i owned before. i know it supported only 128 MB of memory initially but when i inserted a larger card, a 512 MB, it did read it! think so because it uses a newer firmware. i hope nokia's into this, understanding that memory doesnt need to be limited to 1 GB of memory if their are other higher capacity cards of the same format storage...
By the way megadodo, thanks anyway...

  • MicroSD card for Encore Mini WT7 tablet

    Hi,
I looked through the user's manual and can't seem to find any info on what the maximum size (GB) that the tablet supports.
Can anyone recommend a compatible memory card for this device?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
I guess the card reader built in the Encore Mini WT7 is very similar to card reader built in the Encore WT8 or WT10.
Therefore I think that the supported max capacity of memory card is 128GB

  • Needing to check compatibility of a MicroSD card with my Stream Notebook before buying card

Would a SanDisk Ultra 16GB UHS-I/Class 10 Micro SDHC Memory Card be compatible with an HP Stream Notebook - 11-d010wm (ENERGY STAR)?  I already have a couple of Micro SD cards, but they're older and not being acknowledged when I put them in the card reader slot, so I guess they're not compatible.  I'm looking to buy a new SD card, but don't want to run into the same issue, so want to verify compatibility before purchasing...any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you.

Hi.  This computer is new - I just got it last week - and as far as I know, everything seems to work well on it.  When I put my two old micro SD cards in, though, nothing happens at all.  I did try them in a different laptop, as well, and they weren't acknowledged there, either.  But both cards, although older, have never been used in a computer before, I've only ever used them in my phone.  I would think that at least one of them would work in at least one of my laptops...I don't know why neither of them is working in either laptop, but it doesn't really matter, because the size on them is too small for what I need for this computer anyway - they're only 8GB and I need a minimum of 16GB and preferably more - so I just want to buy a new, larger size card.  I'm just concerned about running into the same problem yet again.   I tried to do a little researching on the internet, but the best I came up with is that not all cards are compatible with all OS, which could explain why the older cards don't work, but doesn't help with any specifics on what type of new card would work.   But from what you know, the Stream should accept pretty much any SD card?

  • Max size of MicroSD card for E90?

    Popular literature says 2G.
Wikipedia demonstrates 16G (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_e90) but also states the nokia site has upped it to 4G
I mount the Nokia on my Linux system (Gentoo, kernel 2.6.24) and Linux sees the filesystem as being 4G. (nokia via USB cable, in Data Transfer mode).
My 4G USB key, in the same hub, plugged into the next socket, shows up quite happily as 4G and works as expected.
I dump the device to an ISO file using (cat /dev/sdi > /tmp/backup.iso) and (dd if=/dev/sdi of=/tmp/backukp.iso) and I only get 2G!
    So, which is correct?
It appears that if I want to put stuff on the E90 using Data mode, I am constrained to 2G, who knows what Nokia Suite shows.... further testing will tell.
    ...Lyall

Official figures shown on the Nokia web site represent the maximum size of card tested during the development of the phone, or any subsequent redevelopment.
There are lots of cases where people are using larger cards than Nokia says will work, and they don't have problems.
The main thing to be careful of is that when you jump from 2Gb to 4Gb cards, you move from standard SD to SDHC format, some phones won't accept the high capacity variants.

  • Sony Xperia Z2 maximum supported write/read speed for MicroSD Cards

I am looking to buy one microSD card for my Xperia Z2 Phone (6503). My question is:  how fast it can write data to an SD card. For what I know, these speeds depend of SD Card controller. If I will know approximative numbers I can acquire adequate microSD card. Right now I am trying to decide between: SanDisk SDSDQX-064G-U46A Extreme Plus 64 GB - 80 MB/s SanDisk SDSDQUA-128G-G46A Ultra 128 GB - 30MB/s Writing speeds for these microSD Cards are half of indicated reed sped numbers. I like 128 GB capacity of Ultra Card, but will not hesitate to buy faster 64 GB Extreme Plus Card.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you use 4K recording like features, you might need to get a high speed SD!(go for the Maximum speed you can)
So I think Extreme plus would be better in this case, but if your phone is everything for you (just like me) use the maximum capacity (Which has a better speed as well, otherwise useless) I use a class 10 128 GB!
As far a I know, I think even 30 MBP will be enough for a 4K video!

  • How to sync music to the N8's MicroSD card

I bought a 32GB MicroSD card for my N8 so that I had enough capacity to store all of my MP3s. Unfortunately I can't convince Ovi Music Player to sync music to that location. It always tries to sync the music to the N8's 16GB internal storage area despite there not being enough capacity to do so.
Is there any way to configure either Ovi Music Player or the N8 to use the MicroSD card exclusively for the music library? It's making me very frustrated.

Putting Music on ANY Nokia phone is very simple !! All you need to do is make sure the music has artwork embedded before transfer  and the track and album info is correct. Once the music is in a state where it is fit to be put on the phone, it doesn't matter if you sync with Ovi Suite, Ovi Music, Windows Media Player or whatever. !!

Whilst I hear what you say, carman, just search for the number of threads relating to the problems many people have (and I have had corrupted libraries, album art missing, etc, and I am a fairly experienced user) just trying to get music into a library.  IF it was working, as it should, then the facilities provided by Nokia should just transfer the music in a easy standard way, complete with artwork, to your desired location, and you should end up with a working music system and a completely updated working library.  There should be ONE recommended way of doing it, which should be fairly automatic, simple, reliable, safe and should just work.  That situation does not exist.
Now, I am not saying providing flexibility by providing other alternatives is not desirable. What I AM saying is that Nokia should be able to say - "if you do it this way, then it will work correctly."  From the number of people who have problems with music transfer and libraries, it is obvious that this message has not reached the mass of the users. Whether that is an inability to provide such a feature, or an inability to communicate what it is, and how to use it, Nokia is falling down somewhere. To be honest, after trying to transfer my music to my sd card, unsuccessfully, and then getting advice to go into the file structure and delete files, I gave up and just loaded it onto the phone.  Why should an end user (most of whom, like my mother, are not as technically competent as me) need to start searching for and deleting files just to get their music library working? No wonder the restrictive practices implemented by Apple have been lauded (although I don't like that company because of it!).  At least they have made their product relatively user-friendly, which is a BIG plus when you are dealing in this sort of area. Not everybody is capable of dealing with the sort of problems people seem to encounter doing something as simple as loading music (in fact, probably the majority ....). It should just work!  This lack of ability to 'keep it simple' has been the downfall of Nokia. Their developers provide superb bells and whistles, but seem not to have grasped the fact that bells and whistles are fantastic to have, AS LONG AS THE BASICS ARE ROCK SOLID. And from my experience, transferring music to an sd card is no way a simple or rock solid process, without you doing a lot of digging to find out how to do it successfully - hence all the posts. KISS!

  • Can't transfer files from PC to BB 8800 microSD card

I have a BBerry 8800.  As part of trying to resolve the problem described below, I have recently upgraded the OS to v4.5.0.81 (Platform 2.7.0.78)  (Rogers network version).
I recently purchased a 2GB microSD card for this Blackberry.  The BB seems to recognize the card (when I go to Options/Media Card it shows 1.8GB total space and 1.8GB free space).  As per other posts here, I have set the other options in this area to:
    Media Card Support = ON
    Encryption Mode = None
Mass Storage Mode Support = ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected = YES
However, I cannot seem to transfer files from my PC.
The BB does not appear as a "device with removeable storage" in Windows Explorer.  Nor does it seem to appear in the Roxio Media Manager - in the devices area it only shows BB internal memory.
Does anybody have any suggestions on what might be the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

Here is a bit more info that I have been able to confirm.  Perhaps this will help someone identify a solution to my problems:
    1.  I was able to get my home PC (Windows Vista) to see the Blackberry as a removeable storage device.  This is with:
Mass Storage Mode Support = ON (and the latest USB drivers)
and I was then able to transfer files to the BB as needed.
    2.  However, my work PC (XP Professional) still cannot see the BB (either through Win Explorer OR through Media Manager).  However, if I set Mass Storage Mode Support = OFF, then Media Manager sees the Media Card and I can transfer files via this mechanism.
Any further thoughts on what might be going on?
