MicroSD card support for 808 PureView an Nokia N8-...

Hello community,
this is just an Information from my personal experience.
Yesterday I bought a 808 PureView and inserted a Sandisk Ultra Class 10 micro SD with UHS-I.
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B007JTKLEK
This memory card does not work with Symbian Belle Feature Pack 1 Software Version 112.020.0311 which is dated 2012-06-26. The same micro SD card does work very well in my Nokia N8-00 with Symbian BelleRefresh Software Version 111.040.1511 dated 2012-07-28.
I'm currently investigating which high speed 32GB micro SD will work in the Nokia 808 PureView.

  • Suggestions for 808 PureView and Symbian Belle

    Hi friends,
I am a proud owner of astounding (and worst marketed extra-ordinary device) 808 PureView. Biggest compliment to it is that it has replaced my SGS2. Yes, truly.
After using 808 for some time now I am quite happy but disappointed with certain things. Few things are so minor that I am surprised why Nokia removed it or didnt implement.
So here I am presenting a list of things which I would request Nokia to fix or implement. I will also request all of you here to add to the list so that Nokia gets a direct feedback and can improve the device and software. Thanks !
    Camera:
    1. Slow shutter speeds
    2. Full resolution in various Scenes modes
    3. Pics with AutoFlash mostly comes dark in edges in Indoors
    4. Slightly faster Auto-Focus with soft shutter button
    Gallery:
(I know about other thread but this is a consolidated list)
    1. Batch functions (send, share)
    2. Albums
    3. Folders
    4. Tabbed interface (All, Images, Videos)
    5. Sort by Date, Name, Type, Size, Location, etc.
    6. Send via NFC option (everybody does not read Manual )
    7. Ability to trim parts of video (and to join parts, if possible)
    Contacts:
    1. Labels please !!!
    2. Thumbnail view (atleast in Groups)(could be first-ever. Android has partial implementation)
    3. Contacts with latest Social updates(tweets or Facebook activities) to come second-top after Favourites (convenient and another first)(switch on-off from Settings)
    4.  Additional Tab in Contact's view showing all communication with him/her (Calls, E-mails and Messages)
    5. Another optional Tab showing his/her last 5 Social updates
    Messaging:
    1. Tabbed interface (Conversations/Folders/(optionally) E-Mails)
    2. Forward icon alongside Reply icon
    3. Individual Contact's SMS\Email tone (such a little but practical feature)
    Telephony:
    1. Detailed Call log (Settings>Extended View)
    2. Video Call button
    E-Mail:
    1. E-Mail Popups (probably with Reply option)
    2. Cleaner tabbed interface
    3. Pinch-to-Zoom and Wrap function
    4. Archive option in GMail mails
    5. Go to next email after deleting and not the Inbox (its really annoying)
    Videos:
    1. Large Thumbnail option
    2. Better support for Matroska (mkv)
    3. Better subtitle support (black fonts???)
    4. Options for Brightness and Contrast
    Music Player:
    1. Folders Tab
    2. Editable equaliser
I again request to provide suggestions and I will add them in OP (with your name). Lets help Nokia make great OS and Product even better. And in my experience, they have always seriously listened to their customers and brought the improvements.
    Good Luck !

Nokia thank you for last updates..the 808 is quite perfect now!!
Let's update some last suggestion for Nokia
    Camera:
    1. Slow shutter speeds / FULL Shutter priority mode (with flash and auto/manual ISO....i'm not able to use flash with high ISO and slow shutter speeds)
    2. Full resolution or 12MP / 8MP resolution in various Scenes modes
    3. Pics with AutoFlash mostly comes dark in edges in Indoors
    4. Slightly faster Auto-Focus with soft shutter button
    5. Flash EV Compensation
    7. (Hardware) Image Stabilization with low light
    8. better White Balance..more options..
    9. square (1:1) and 3:2 modes
    10. higher FPS available with low res videos
    11. Camera noise fix, lots of digital noise on the right side of the screen (purple cast) when taking pics in darker conditions without flash, something is interfering..
    12. nedd much better performance for the CAF in video mode, it doesn't work on FP2
    13. Lumia photo tools / add-ons: Cinemagraph lens, Smart Shoot lens, Panorama lens, Bing vision..
    Gallery:
    1. Albums / Folders
    2. Tabbed interface (All, Images, Videos)
    3. Sort by Date, Name, Type, Size, Location, etc.
    4. Send via NFC option (everybody does not read Manual )
    5. Ability to trim parts of video (and to join parts, if possible...improve VideoPRO please..audio editing!)
    6. Improve PHOTO Editing too, more controls (light/shadows, sharpness, fixed ratio for photo crop like 3:2 and 1:1, blur control..)
    Contacts:
    1. Labels please !!!
    2. Thumbnail view (atleast in Groups)(could be first-ever. Android has partial implementation)
    3. Contacts with latest Social updates(tweets or Facebook activities) to come second-top after Favourites (convenient and another first)(switch on-off from Settings)
    4.  Additional Tab in Contact's view showing all communication with him/her (Calls, E-mails and Messages)
    5. Another optional Tab showing his/her last 5 Social updates
    Messaging:
    1. Tabbed interface (Conversations/Folders/(optionally) E-Mails)
    2. Forward icon alongside Reply icon
    3. Individual Contact's SMS\Email tone (such a little but practical feature)
    4. More smart use of Words Suggestions in T9 Mode..priority for shorter words!
(in Italian...i want to write "ON" and i touch ONLY the 6 button two times, but sometimes it suggests "NO" and/or longer words like "ONLY","NOBODY","NOTHING"...but not "ON"!! (In Italian language, i don't know if it does the same in English!)
    5. In conversation or with Whatsapp, in horizontal mode with QUERTY and Words Suggestions enabled, it's impossible to read the last messages during writing.
    6. much smaller text option
    7. in conversation view, the letter icon and the notification of a new message doesn't disapppear if you've only read the sms, without giving a reply! I suggest that a tap on the yellow letter icon on the right in conversation mode will change the sms status from unread to read
    Telephony:
    1. Detailed Call log (Settings>Extended View)
    2. Video Call button
    4. more notifications on notification bar
    5. improve social network apps and connections between gallery / notification bar and them
    E-Mail:
    1. E-Mail Popups (probably with Reply option)
    2. Cleaner tabbed interface
    3. Pinch-to-Zoom and Wrap function
    4. Archive option in GMail mails
    5. Go to next email after deleting and not the Inbox (its really annoying)
    6. Email notification like with missed calls or sms on the lockscreen.
    Videos:
    1. Large Thumbnail option
    2. Better support for Matroska (mkv)
    3. Better subtitle support (black fonts???)
    4. Options for Brightness and Contrast
    Music Player:
    1. Folders Tab
    2. Editable equaliser

  • Audible App for 808 PureView?

    Hi,
I'm thinking of trying the 808 coming over from Android.  I have many books on my Audible app and use the app a lot.  I realise that previous Symbian phones did not work with Audible's file format (AA) due to Nokia not supporting it.
Please tell me that Nokia has addressed this short-coming in the 808?  Will the 808 play nice with Audible? (not interested in hacking an over-FM-transmitter 'solution'!)
    Thanks.

The link you provided http://www.i-nigma.mobi fails when I try to open the website from Nokia Browser.
Sorry about that, it still works as advertised on my N8 Belle Refresh.
Maybe it was never updated for the Pureview? There should be a contact email address when visiting the .mobi page in a desktop browser - or use the form on http://3gvision.com/ContactUs.html if you want to investigate it.

  • ISO problem for 808 pureview

For the last 22 months, I have been using 808 pureview & the thing I love the most is it's 41 mega pixel camera.
Everything was fine until my phone's WIfi module failed to work. I gave the phone for repair & now what I got back is a sodding piece of **bleep**. Now it's better to call the phone 808 **bleep**view.
Now whenever I take photos....a lot of light is being added to it. I think the problem is with ISO. ISO is not adjusting properly in automatic & scenes mode. Creative mode looks completly **bleep**ed up now.
Can you tell me what is the problem or how can I resolve this problem??
I will show you some sample picturs that I took recently.

Sometimes repairments are not done correctly or harm other components. Did you consider to bring it back for repair? If you have run the Nokia Software Recovery Tool on a Windows computer, you did everything you can do (officially).

  • Ditch N8 for 808 Pureview?

    Hi everyone
I currently have a Nokia N8 and I was wondering if it'd be worth it to ditch the N8 and buy a 808 PureView when it comes out in a month? Will the camera be WAAAY better or won't it really differ all that much from the N8?
I mean, of course it has 41 MP, but I feel like I'll never use the the 38 MP mode (there's no need for a monstrous picture like that for a regular user like me anyway), and I'm not sure if the 8 MP pictures from the 808 will really be all that better than the pictures that my N8 takes.
Is upgrading really worth it or should I stick to my N8?
    Thanks!

The 808 Pureview will still have a better camera than the N8 in 8 Mega Pixel mode due to the Pureviews image sensor being bigger. Not to mention the Pureview can record video in full 1080p HD versus 720p in the N8.

  • Is there a flush microsd card adapter for MBP?

So I have a late 2013 13" Retina MacBook Pro and I have to say I'm surprised at how the SD adapter comes out as far as it does when inserted.  I would think with the usual Apple design that if someone were to use and SD card, they wouldn't want it sticking out that far.
Anyway, is there a microSD card adapter that exists which would be much more flush with the unit?  I'd really prefer it not sticking out as far as it does. Thank you.

    mva5580 wrote:
I think that'll do, thanks!  I'd prefer a microSD adapter since I already have the 64gb card but if that's my option, then that's my option.  Too bad there's not an 128gb version for the 13" 2013 Pro, I'd probably buy it.
There are many other options it there, however you didn't appear to finding any, so I gave you some examples.
There are a lot for the Raspberrypi, but I don't know how the MBP slot would handle them…
    http://www.adafruit.com/products/966
    http://quilix.com/pio
If the MBP SD reader is spring loaded (if it pushes back to pop out the card) I'd consider trying one from Adafruit (it's cheap enough) you should be able to 'press it out' with the spring if it goes too far in!
I'd spend some time comparing sizes to a normal card though & see it it looks right - the last thing you want is a blocked slot
There must be a Micro SD card version for the Retina MBP, that was just the first one on Amazon, try any other sellers local to you.

  • Screen Capture app for 808 Pureview

The cRIO9031 with Linux Real Time did not support SDXC cards. Only SDGC with a maximum of 32GB supported by cRIO.

    Hi Schott,
Unfortunately, Linux does not have native (in kernel source) support for the exFAT filesystem (required for a device to be labled SDXC). As soon as such a filesystem is supported in Linux, we can enable direct support for exFAT.
In the meantime, there is nothing preventing you from formatting the card in a filesystem type that is supported on the target. FAT32 is unfortunately the most portable, accessible format, of course if you don't need to access the contents of the card from a Windows machine, you can use some of the tools on the RT controller to format the card in a more robust, journalling filesystem such as EXT4.

  • Is this card supported for 3d ray tracing optimized with CUDA?

On the system requirements list for after effects CS6, the 660 is not listed, but I just wanted to double check. According to nvidia's website the 660 supports CUDA optimized functions. There is also the fact that sometimes softwares fail to keep up to date with what hardware works. Is this one of those case?

For a list of supported hardware acceleration cards start at  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/773101 and click the system requirements link
Most nVidia cards that are not in the list may be used for hardware MPE if they have at least 1Gig of video ram, by means of the hack http://forums.adobe.com/thread/629557

  • BCM43227 Wlan Card Support for x230t?

Hi, everyone. I have a thinkpad x230t and recently changed my OS so I need to replace my WLAN card because there's no driver for intel cards.
I checked Lenovo documents, here http://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/x230t_fru_bom_20140421.pdf
it says BCM43227 card with FRU number 03T9015 is supported so I made my purchase online. But upon boot on it gives me 1802 error saying it's not a proved card.
The BCM43227 card I have has ID/DEV numbers: 14E4/4358/14E4/0543. I assume it's the same card mentioned in the pdf. I have bios version 2.55, will updating bios solve this problem?
Did anyone have experience with this card? Please help!

    Hi, George:
    Thank you for your reply!
The seller who sold me this card claims it is the same product as 03T9015, it's just Lenovo makes different lables during different periods. I compared this card with 03T9015 pictures online and they appear to have the same Lenovo P/N number and the same Cyber Tan P/N number. But the card I have is mssing the FRU numbers. I'm attaching pictures of both.
    My questions are:
    1. Is my card realy 03T9015?
    2. If this is not, will a real 03T9015 pass the whitelist check?
To my understanding, the way whitelist works is to check the card's Dev/Ven and Sub Dev/Ven numbers. Can someone who has 03T9015 post his/her numbers so I can compare with the one I have?
