Microsoft Access 2013 Database Invoice

I am trying to use a Database Invoice template provided by Access 2013.  I am having trouble making some vital alterations, including making values non-dependent on each other.
For example, I don't want the total price to be dependent on the hours tab.  I would actually prefer if the hours tab wasn't even there.
I can submit a screenshot if need be.
Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hi,
Which Database Invoice template do you use? I find Access 2013 provide 6 template which include the invoice.
And then I download one of them (Desktop Product inventory database) to customize the invoice report.
Right click invoice report > Choose design Mode
If I misunderstand something, please let me know and upload some screenshots.

  • Concurrent users unable to open a shared Microsoft Access MDB database

I have a share on a Cisco NSS2000, the NSS is in Workgroup mode (Firmware 1.13).
Every user have read/write rights on this share.
When I try to open an access MDB database from this share it happens that only a single user at time can open the database.
The second user that try to open the database get a "Cannot lock file" error message.
So, when a user has the Access DB opened, no-one other can open (or connect to) the same DB.
It's impossible to open the DB using the access IDE ("Cannot lock file" error message).
It's impossible to make multiple connection to the DB using OleDB ("Cannot lock file" error message).
I've tried give full access to the mdb file.
I've tried give full access to the mdb folder.
I've even tried to give full access to the temporary LDB file.
I always get the same error message.
    Is there a workaround?
    Thanks, Max

I've finally been able to update the firmware to the latest 1.16.
Now everything works fine, problem solved! :)

  • InfoPath 2013 customized forms no longer working after linking Sharepoint 2010 list to MS Access 2013 database

    Hello,
I am having trouble with my infopath form now that I have linked my Sharepoint list to an Access database.
Background:  I created a simple SharePoint list and a few workflows to have users submit requests for changes to my organization's EMR system and have those requests be approved by the appropriate manager/department.  I used
InfoPath to customize my form so that it would hide/show different portions depending on what the user selected.  The form has 3 views: NewItem, EditItem, ViewItem.
Issue: The form and workflows were working great until I linked my SharePoint list to an access database so that I could run queries and reports using that information. Now when I click "Add New Item" on my Sharepoint site,
the correct form opens but the fields do not allow me to input any data and some of the formatting for the form has changed (ie: the text boxe fields are no longer centered.  I opened the form in InfoPath and it displays perfectly fine in there but
not once it's published to the site) .
The only way that I've been able to input new data is using Datasheet view in SharePoint.
Is there a way to fix this issue?  I really need to be able to have the customized forms for users to fill out the information since most users are not familiar enough with SharePoint to expect them to be able to use Datasheet view to submit their requests.
    Again, I'm using InfoPath 2013, Access 2013 & SharePoint Server 2010
If the issue cannot be fixed, how can I disconnect or unlink my SharePoint list from the Access database because when I cliecked on "delete list" from inside Access, a warning popped up stating that it will also delete the list off of SharePoint
as well.  If I can get the list back to the state it was in before linking to Access then I'll be happy enough to export it excel and then importh the excel file to Access as a work around for reporting purposes since I don't have to run the reports that
    often.
Any insight would be very helpful!!

    Hi Bostic,
I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, however the InfoPath form was not affected if I used the list as external data in Access database.
The issue may be due to the browser you used.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Change another browser to see how it works.
Add the site to the trusted zone and add to compatibility settings in Internet Explorer.
Test with a new list to narrow down the issue scope.
As a workaround, you can save the list as a template including content, and then create a new list based on this template.
Learn how to Save a SharePoint List Template:
    http://www.fpweb.net/sharepoint-2010/tutorials/content/save-list-template/#

  • Unable to open connection to MS Access 2013 .accdb file Under WCF Web Service Project Using Windows 8.1 64bit

I am encountering the following error when trying to connect to an Access 2013 database:
The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.
I have Visual Studio 2013 SP3 running on Windows 8.1 64bit OS which also has Office 2013 installed (which includes MS Access 2013).  My project is a WCF web service using .NET Framework 4.5.1 using any cpu as target.  I have tried reluctantly
to install the older drivers as described by in the below article:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1d5c04c7-157f-4955-a14b-41d912d50a64/how-to-fix-error-the-microsoftaceoledb120-provider-is-not-registered-on-the-local-machine?forum=vstsdb
and also went through the "Add Data Source" wizard in the Project menu to have the connect string automatically built.  Even with the automatically built connect string I can not connect to the .accdb file from within my WCF web service.
What's odd is if I use the Database Explorer in Visual Studio it has no problem connecting the my Access file.  I inspected the connect string and tried to use it as well but still get the same error. Even stranger is that I have no problem connecting
to the Access DB in an ASP.NET project on the same PC. I am also able to connect to the Access file using a simple Windows Forms application.  So I'm wondering if it has something to do with trying to connect to the Access file from a WCF web service
    project.
What I'd like to know is if anyone has been able to get this to work in an environment as I described above as a 64bit WCF web service project?  I tried to switch my project to 32bit but when I do I get a different error which reads:
System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly 'file:
Almost to the point of trying to get this web service project done with SQL Express but would like to know if it can be done with MS Access 2013.  Any information anyone can provide to help me get past this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you installed the 64-bit Access driver on your machine? See
Data Source Names and 64-Bit Operating Systems for the differences in odbcad32. Call %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe to check the drivers.
How do you host your service? Stand-alone or IIS or embedded to another application? Keep in mind that IIS7 runs it in its application pool which is defaullt 64bit. Thus the bad image exception, when compiling your service as 32bit.
When you need the Access database for your service to store informtation, then I would switch to SQL Server (Express) or XML files depending on your actual needs.
Also check whether your account under which your service is run has the necessary NTFS file permissions on the access file and the folder. This is getting even more complex when it's a remote folder.

  • Data Model damaged, Cannot connect to Access 2013 from within Excel 2013

    Hello,
Recently I am not able to use PowerPivot for Excel 2013 and I cannot connect to my Access 2013 database tables from within Excel 2013. Whenever I try to click on a slicer in my Excel worksheet, it gives me the following error: "Excel was unable to load
a necessary component. This component might have been damaged or deleted. Reinstall the client software or data source driver software for your database."
I am using Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2013 on Windows 7, 64-bit version. I have tried reinstalling Microsoft SQL Compact Edition 2005 and reinstalling Office 2013. I have run out of ideas and am a loss what to do next ?
Can anyone help point in the right direction for a possible solution to this problem ???
    Would appreciate all help.

  • Access 2013 Web reporting seems to be missing

I have a simple request from a user to print out a list of the database in a nicely formatted form. Should take 10 minutes (or so I thought).  The version is Access 2013 web.
It appears that this simple request is not easily done.  There appears not to be a reporting function in the Web version of Access.  I spent a long time looking for it and decided that it just isn't there.
For my second choice I decided to deploy the desktop version and create the reports there, but can't get a connection to the SQL Server where the Access Web App stores my data in SharePoint.
I found a web link showing me how to hook up Excel to the SQL server supporting the web app database.  I have gone to the Web Access FILE\INFO screen and selected the Manage Connections section.  Followed the instructions
for enabling a read only connection and then copied and pasted the server, database name, username and password into Excel using the "From other sources" button, then selecting the "From Data Connection Wizard", Selected other/advanced
and then SQL Server Native Client 11.0.   It does not find the server when I test the connection.  I constantly get a time out.
I am using a 365 SharePoint server to host my access web site.  I called 365 Tech support and spent hours trying to work this out with people that didn't know anything about Access.  The SharePoint people didn't understand the problem of not
being able to connect and was eventually told that it wasn't a feature they offered.
As an aside, with 18 years experience in developing Access applications, I am looking at other products to replace Access.  I didn't jump into Access 2010 web because of the way SharePoint handled the database, but this is worse. Hate to walk away
from the experience I have, but seems I have been left little choice.

See if this blog post that our support team created helps you with the connection information. This can create the desktop Access application linked up to the Access 2013 web app tables you have.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_access_support_team_blog/archive/2014/03/24/how-to-make-external-connections-to-an-access-web-app-new.aspx
Also, you might just try clicking the Create Reports button in the Access web app client interface and Access will create the reporting database for you with links to the web app tables. On the File menu (when using the Access web app in client) make sure
to click the option to Allow Any Location under the Manage button. After that, just click the Create Reports button on the File menu (right above the Manage button) and wait a few seconds. Access will create a new desktop database linked up to all of the Access
web app tables. You can then create as many reports or other desktop objects as you like.
    Hope that helps,

  • SharePoint 2010 Form from Access 2013

    Hello,
I am curious if I can do the following. I have an Access 2013 database with tables, forms, queries, and macros. To get to the gist of this I want to be able to use these forums on SharePoint 2010 by letting users enter their information in a friendly way
and than having that information stored in the table. I know this recently became popular in SharePoint 2013 but would like to know if there is a way to get this done in SharePoint 2010.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you

  • How to create a table with just its structure in Access 2013?

I have a front-end and back-end Access 2013 database. I want to send it to an MS Access development company. I cannot send it with any data because it has our members social security numbers and other personal identification data. In MS Access 2003
I could save a table with just its structure.
How do I save a table with just its structure? I want to learn how to do this.
    Thanks for the help.
    Robert

On the Create tab of the ribbon, click Table Design.
This opens the table design window, in which you can define fields and indexes without entering any data. Don't forget to save the design when you're done.

  • Cannot add new column in Access 2013

I am using Microsoft Access 2013, and I am unable to add a new column to a table in Design Mode. I can add a new column in Datasheet Mode, but not in Design.

    Hi,
From your description, I tried to do in my computer.
First, I open table1 in  Datasheet Mode.
    Rename a neo column.
    Second, I right-click table1>Design View>Enter Field Name(Date type)>View> Datasheet View
I find that it works fine.
So I suppose that your Access2013 was damaged.
I recommend that you can use Access2013 in safe mode.
If it works fine in safe mode, you can repair Access2013.
    I hope it’s helps

  • Saving an Access 2013 DB to a lower version

    Hi
Is there any way to save an Access 2013 database (.accdb) down to a lower version of Access (.mdb file)?
    Paul

HV,  have never attempted this - some new features not understood in the earlier version, like split forms and such, I assume will cause it to barf....
but will there be issues with VBA code if written in 13 and then attempting to go back to say 03 or earlier? i.e. the pre ribbon era......
I've always been super cautious in developing in the edition the user has.....but maybe I am going overboard....  I know the features so I can avoid using feature like say data macros that I know did not exist in say 03 - - but have concern
on generic vba code as well and the library references......

  • Unable to read data in Excel 2010/2013 from encrypted Access 2010/2013 database

A customer has an Access database (.accdb), which was encrypted/given a database password in Access 2013. It should be possible to read that data from Excel 2010/2013, but when clicking on Data-->From Access
and the correct path is put in and the correct database password has been entered, Excel just keeps prompting for the database password. This happens with both Excel 2010 and 2013.
The database password supplied is correct as evidenced by opening the database in Access 2013 using the same database password.
A colleague in a separate company has found that a separate .accdb file he has recently encrypted also has the same problem as above, yet a .accdb file encrypted ages ago
    is readable from Excel.
How do I get Excel 2010/2013 to read the data from the encrypted .accdb file, please?

Since Access 2010 the encryption algorithm has changed:
    Source
Follow the next steps to apply an encryption method that will allow you to (programmatically) connect to the database:
    1. Decrypt the database
    2. Change the encryption method:
        - In Access Options select 'Client Settings'
        - Scroll down to section 'Advanced'
        - 'Encryption Method': select option 'Use legacy encryption (..'
        - Click 'OK'
    3. Encrypt the database

  • How do I open a pdf stored in a Microsoft Access database using Visual Basic studios 2012

Currently I am unable to find a valid method of being able to open a pdf stored in a Microsoft Access database using Visual Basic studios 2012. I've tried displaying the entire database on a form, but when I do this all the other columns show up with
the correct data besides the one containing the pdf's, it just displays <binary data> in each row down the column. I also tried another method with which you use the database as a dataset and can drag and drop the rows and columns into the form, which
again works for all the other columns besides the one containing the pdf's but this time I'm unable to interact with the column  at all.
Not too sure if this is in the correct place, but any answers or help would be appreciated. Cheers.
