Microsoft Adcenter says browser not supported
Microsoft Adcenter says browser not supported and tells me to enable cookies and java yet these are enabled
Hello Siborg.
Can you provide me with a link for this site? You may need to contact Microsoft about this, though.
Or you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

A couple of options:
Turn on the Developer menu. You can do this with a tool like iTweax 2.3 and try changing the user agent.
Download and use Firefox instead. -
Netflix & Amazon-Mac & Browser Not Supported Issues
Hello! I am having issues with both Netflix and Amazon's "Search Inside" with my MacBook Pro. I have all the lastest OS (10.7.2), browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) and according to their (Netflix and Amazon) requirements everything is fine. I even have Silverlight (which I couldn't download from Microsoft because it kept saying "browser not supported.").
It can't be a coincidence that I am having the same exact issue on all three browsers on these two sites.
What could the connection possibly be? I am absolutely stumped!
Thanks for the help!Hi there, I meant that I was getting similar issues with both Netflix AND Amazon...separately.
That said, I figured it out. It was my virus protection. Apparently Netflix and Amazon's "Look Inside" don't like it. I should have figured out that the virus protection s/w was the issue. Netflix suggested it and they were correct.
Yeah, yeah, I know... Macs don't need virus protection. After some of the security issues that have been going on, I say 'better safe, than sorry." ;-)
Thanks for the response and help! -

I'm trying to download internet security and an error of microsoft windows applications are not supported on OS x keeps coming up
That's because you must be trying to download a Windows application, and they do not run on a Mac unless you are running Windows on the Mac.
Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
For adware removal see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Tool.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
The facts are:
1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
protection against malware.
5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware. -
I8.0 Browser Not Supported
Is it possible to catch exception (rather than system dump 'Sorry program/browser not supported" )gracefully when incompatible browser [for e.g IE 8.0] is used for calling Web Dynpro ABAP application?
thanks,
SankethI don't believe that this can be caught becuase the error is thrown very early in the framework startup and your particular application hasn't even been started yet.
You can build custom error messages and attach them to the SICF node, but this isn't going to let you by pass the error.
The offical SAP response (from note 1294877) is that you can use the IE8 blocker toolkit provided by Microsoft to keep users from installing IE8.
Even if you could bypass the error or change the client string identification; IE8 isn't supported and you could run into problems and inconsistencies in the rendering. -
when i plug my phone into the usb port with the apple charger that came with my phone i get an error msg say charging not supported by this device. But when i use a gigaware (radioshack brand) usb charger, no error msg. Why?
- Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
- Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button? -
Hi i have an ipod 4 and i have a wall charger but every time i try to charge it it says "charging not supported with accessory" can i do anything to fix it ?
Not Charge
- See:
iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
iPhone and iPod touch: Charging the battery
- Try another cable.
- Try another charging source
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

I can't get video attachments in gmail to play on my macbook pro. Says format not supported.
What kind of video? There are dozens of formats, some don't play on a Mac unless you have the right plug-ins for Quicktime. There are some things you should download to help you out.
http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
These should cover EVERYTHING you'd ever encounter (though maybe not). Frankly, if it's not H.264 or w4v (or both), it doesn't belong on your mac. -
My Apple TV no longer works. With it on my television says, "Mode not supported." Anyone else have this issue?

Skype wont open, saying its "not supported on this Aschitecture". How can I get it to work??
I have downloaded Skype from its main website for MAC, but still it says " can't open Skype. not supported on this Architecture" when i click on it. I don't know why it wont. This isn't an old Desktop Mac computer, and Skype downloaded with no problems on my Mac Lap top. So what's wrong this time?
Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!Ahh, glad we got that figured out! You might want to make a note for any other problems you want to ask to post in the forum for Power PCs:

How can I open a document created in Classic on MacOS X? When I tried to open it, it says Classic Not Supported. What do I do?
The short answer is:
Single click on the document you created in Classic, bring up your 'popup' menu (right click or control-click), select 'Open With' and choose the Mac OS X application you believe will open the document.
If this does not work. Tell us which Classic application you created the document with and which applications you have which you believe will open your 'classic' document. -
