Microsoft apps.. (australia)

where are the microsoft apps for the australian varients?

Installed yesterday... so far so good... I didn't have to reconfigure my Exchange account, everything's working as intended.
Only, I wish there was an option to close Lync without having to kill it from the task list. When I want to be offline (e.g. at night or during the weekend), I don't need an extra app to be running in background... I'd rather wait a couple of extra seconds to launch it again when it's needed...

  • Message reader problems after Microsoft Apps insta...

My previous thread was delete due to forum rules infringment.
I describe here again my problem, hoping to have a solution and considering that the problem I faced was not my fault, but it happened after a Nokia official update downloaded via Ovi Suite.
On 15th of April I've installed the Microsoft Apps and after my C6-01 reboot I found that the application "message reader" does not work anymore (tapping on the blue icon in the homescreen had no effect).
The only way to use the message reader was going in the incoming SMS folder, select a message anoose "LISTEN" from the menu. In this way the reader works.
Some days ago someone in this forum suggested me to remove the configured mailbox and try; in this way the reader came back to life and worked again, but if I add a mailbox the problem come back and the reader is malfunctioning again. So the only way to have this application working is removing any mailbox from my C6-01.
Therefore, considering that this problem occurred after an official update from Nokia and not for an user's error, I would like that Nokia tell me how to solve this malfunction.
Thanks for your attention and forgive my poor english.

After the first time I installed Micro$oft App$ I did a deep reset pressing the four keys as described in a web site I've found. After this procedure my C6-01 rebooted without many applications, so I have connected it to Ovi Suite and restored the firmware. The result was a "brand new" and perfect phone, until the new installation of M$ Apps on 11th of April :-(
So we are three Nokia users with the same problem... and we will faithfully wait for a fix ;-)

  • Problem with installing Microsoft Apps on Nokia e7

    Hey Guys
I have a nokia E7 with Belle update , previously I had the Microsoft apps installed on my phone and for some reasons I had to do a full format and restore of my phone. My phone restore was only SMS and contacts.
Then I tried installing the Microsoft apps again and after the installer file downloads , it ask me if it can download a 21 MB file , so I press yes and then it says " the connection was lost , canceling the installation "
I am sure my network connections are OK, all the other applications download and install perfectly and I have tried it over 3G and Wifi. To be sure I did factory reset and it did not work.
even when it creates an icon for smart installer , the same thing happens.
I have tried anything it reached my mind and did not work, do you guys have anything else that might work?

I have to say I did the hard reset with  *#7370# , and before that I had formatted the mass memory as well, so after all that  the phone was just like the first day I got it.
Have a horrid feeling that your formatting mass memory has achieved same result as "hard reset" especially if you can't access Nokia Store upon device. Nokia Care facility can re-install software completely including eMMC content which truly returns device to "Out of box" state.
Have you tried "Googling" for "Microsoft Apps 2.01 (5616)"?
You will need to install Pixi enablers first, if I remember it correctly.

  • Microsoft apps (outlook/Excel etc) do not work after SAPGUI 720 install

    Hello,
We use a tool called MARIMBA to package and deploy SAPGUI and other apps to our users. Recently, we packaged SAPGUI 720 and deployed to some end-users (Win XP 32-bit SP3, Win 7 enterprise) via Marimba. However, after SAPGUI gets pushed to the end-user computers, users complain that their Microsoft apps don't work or are missing! Few users report Symantec Anti-virus does not launch.
I am not sure if this is unique to our environment. Please report here if you have encountered similar situation.
    Thanks for your time.

You software is too old. You need to move to Office 2008, 2011 or use iWork or use Open Office (or Libre Office, or NeoOffice, etc.)

  • How can I get extensions to load in a Microsoft App-V environment?

I am trying to install Firefox 25.0.1 as a virtual application through Microsoft App-V. Everything works fine, until I attempt to install an extension. The extension installs, I can see it in the list of installed extensions, and I see the *.xpi file in the profile. However, the extension never loads when I restart the browser. Also, if I go to Extensions in the Add-ons Manager and click on Options, it freezes the entire browser. This behavior is consistent with any extension that I add. I have confirmed that these extensions work on an identical Windows 7 system where Firefox is installed as a standard application.
Note that App-V will allow changes to the user profile, which is why I can see the *.xpi files. App-V does not allow any modifications to the installation directory in Program Files. When an extension is added, what gets modified in the Firefox directory in Program Files? Also, if there is a file that gets modified in the installation directory, is there a way to redirect that?

As far as I know and have seen over my years of testing Firefox, installing a addon does not modify any files in the Program Files installation directory.
Everything is saved in the individual Firefox profile.
Your problem sounds pretty unusual for sure. I'd recommend reading over these 2 guides in case there may be any tips that can help you figure this out. If I come across anything more helpful, I'll post it here.
    * http://stealthpuppy.com/prepare-mozilla-firefox-for-enterprise-deployment-and-virtualization/
    * http://stealthpuppy.com/sequencing-mozilla-firefox-with-app-v-5-x/
How exactly are you installing the addons? Sounds like you're placing the .xpi files directly into the Firefox profile folder. But you shouldn't be doing that.
Instead try putting the .xpi files into C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\extensions then start Firefox once. You should get a message asking if you want to install the addons, click yes and then Firefox will create a extensions folder in the Firefox profile folder and add the .xpi files there.
Or you could manually create a extensions folder in the firefox profile and place the .xpi files in there. That should work too.

  • Since uploading Maverick, my Microsoft apps give an error message "(the app) quit unexpectedly.  Click Reopen to open the application again."  However, this does nothing but renew this window.  What to do?

Since uploading Maverick, all of my Microsoft apps give an error message "(name of the app) quit unexpectedly.  Click Reopen to open the application again."  However, this does nothing but renew this window.  I have to click on the "OK" button to get rid of the error message.  What to do?

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

I have an iPad air and have downloaded the microsoft app excel.  I have an email with an excel attacment.  When I "tap to download" the attachment, it automatically converts to a PDF file and opens as a "view only" document.  I want it to open with the excel app so I can see and update the spreadsheet.  Please help.  Thanks!

If Excel works as do other apps, you should be able to tap and hold on the attachment and then select "Open in Excel" in the window that will open. Note that you need to be subscribed to and signed into Office 365 to be able to edit documents in Microsoft's apps.

Nokia did say q4 2011 for the first part and early 2012 for the second. Now q4 2011 has passed and nothing, are these kinds of announcements some kind of con to increase sales ? Did Nokia know when they announced it that they could not deliver ?
this is the key sentence to it all.
The free updates, called Microsoft Apps, will require no additional infrastructure. The first updates will appear by the end of this year, with broad consumer availability arriving in early 2012.
And the part that is dealing with us as comsumers is the "with broad comsumer availability arriving in early 2012"
the only people that may have got any of these apps earlier was to be those with phones that had Belle preinstalled when purchased. Everyone else is not and was not getting it till early 2012. Essentially we are all comsumers so we all diffinitely fit the "broad comsumer" part. So no one lied, no one gave you false info.
Those lines were taken straight from the press release that was made on the Nokia developers website, so in other word the info that goes to app developers etc. Which was included in my post some months ago.
I know I am looking forward to these apps becoming available, not only will they be something that i will use, but I also think it will give Nokia a huge boost, with the potential for extra sales from business customers.
After all most of these apps like lync, onenote, powerpoint, document connection with links to sharepoint are all business related products, which for the majority of customers will not have any need for. Unless your workplace has these kinds of servers setup, with appropiate access for its users of course.
There really is only 2 apps, word and excel that a comsumer is likely to use on a regular basis. I happen to have access to the kind of servers required for the others apps which definitely helps me, but for most they will mean nothing to them, nor will they have any use for them. Unless you are in a position where you can have access to a microsoft communications server or lync server 2010 and to something like server 2008 that has sharepoint installed, then these apps are not even worth worrying about.

  • E7 and Microsoft Apps

I noticed that Nokia Suite is no longer listing Microsoft Apps as a 'Software Update'.
I did not install it when it first came up, as I do not think I need it.
Is this suite being phased out for the E7 since it is no longer listed as an update?

Hello.  Hopefully someone can help me with this question (sorry it's a bit of a long story).  I recently sent my E7 to be repaired and they had to flash it.  The returned phone is on Symbian Belle FP 1 (I think they call it FP1), no complaints  When I sent the phone to be repaired I was using the Office apps, in particular Word, but when they sent it back, Quickoffice was installed.  Which is fine since they had to flash the phone.
I recently downloaded the Office apps suite from the Nokia Store, in order to reinstall them, but none of the Office suite (Word, Excel) were installed.  I just tried to download it again, but this time it seems to download, but won't install.
Do I need to uninstall QuickOffice first?
If I do uninstall Quickoffice, but back up my phone first, will I be able to restore Quickoffice if I need to?
    Thanks.

  • Problem Instaling Microsoft Apps 2.1 5616

Can not install update Microsoft Apps 2.1 5616 and previously used the 2.00 version.I've tried to solve the problem with reinstal Belle Refresh but again it was the same through the Nokia Suite and via OTA Helppppppppp!!!!!

We removed the many posts with screenshots as your description is quite clear and these posts do not really add any extra information. Have you attempted to do a fresh install of your device?  Follow the procedure below to do a full device reset and (re)install of the system firmware:
If you have data on the phone you wish to keep create a backup using Nokia Suite but when asked deselect the option to include settings in the backup. You can start a backup through Tools>Backup in the Nokia Suite menu.
Now disconnect your phone from the PC and select the offline profile, press the on/off switch and from the menu which appears select and activate the profile offline.
Enter the code *#7370# followed by the security code 12345. Please be aware this reset may take a while. Your phone will restart when finished.
After the phone restarts go through the Device First Use sequence to setup the phone correctly.
Now connect the phone to your PC again and let Nokia Suite install the requires files on phone. After this (re)install the latest system update. When you go to the update screen in Nokia Suite your will either be presented by a system update or you can choose to re-install the current (up to date) version again.
After the update verify if there are any additional updates and install these as well.
After this you can restore the backup if you made one.
It is possible that your device storage area requires a full rewrite to allow the installation of these apps, if the above does not resolve the ability to install the apps please visit a Nokia Care point for further assistance. You can find the nearest one through the 'Contact us' section on this page.

  • Microsoft apps are not supported by Lion?

Is it true microsoft apps are not supported by Lion? I just upgraded and now I'm getting a message my microsoft apps are no longer available. Any upgrades to bring them online?

You have Office 2004 and that won't run on Lion. You have three options:
    1. Upgrade to Office 2008 or 2011
    2. Download the free Office suite Libreoffice
    3. Buy Apple's 'Numbers' (for spreadsheets), 'Keynote' (for Powerpoint) and/or 'Pages' (for word processing) programs from the App store.
A fourth option would be to revert to Snow Leopard.

  • Microsoft apps quit working on hp g7

Hello I have an Hp G7 windows 8.1 and my microsoft apps will not open there was no changes made too my computer when I try too open them they are blank and will not open how can I reinstall them

    Hi Destiny003,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it is a great place to find answers. For you to have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see that your Microsoft Apps are not opening today, but were previously working fine. You state no changes were made to your system.
Are you Windows updates set to automatically install?  If so perhaps you received one and you are not aware of the change. You have an option to have the updates prompt you before installation, which allows you to choose if you want that particular update.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
I suggest you do a Windows restore back to when they were working.  Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8).
If the restore resolves the issue and it should return, I would contact Microsoft for further assistance.
