Microsoft Bluetooth usage

Hi,
I'd like to know how I can be able to use Microsoft bluetooth adaptors rather the toshiba one.
The main idea is to be able to get to the Bluetooth phone and settings feature with windows where I can make calls using Windows and use the laptop as audio and mic.
I am able to do this with my friend's HP tablet with Windows 7 pro, however I am unable to do it with my U500 Windows 7 pro. I believe the bluetooth connection with my Nokia N97 has to be recognised with Windows rather the Toshiba bluetooth program?

Microsoft bluetooth adaptors or Microsoft bluetooth software?

  • Microsoft Bluetooth 2.0 Elite keyboard + Mouse

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how well (or even if) the "Microsoft Bluetooth 2.0 Elite keyboard + Mouse" work with a bluetooth enabled Mac mini?
    Any info would be great.
    Cheers,
    A.

    Well, I can not answer your question about a mac mini and this particular keyboard/mouse but I can describe my experience with this microsoft combo and iMac G4 with D-Link bluetooth stick (Microsoft bluetooth stick does not work!!!).
    Setup was a breeze - my mac has recognized the mouse and keyboard in an instant, paired with the keyboard and mouse (just asked me to enter the random 6 digit on the keyboard and press Enter).
    Now to usage experiences:
    Mouse: All buttons work as expected, you can program additional functions (like Expose or whatever you like to the extra buttons (They show up as mouse button 3 (wheel click), 4 and 5. Mouse is pretty responsive, maybe a bit too responsive, so I had to move the Sensitivity slider slightly down.
    Keyboard: all the dedicated buttons (Favorities, Messenger, email etc) do not work except for: Volume up/down, mute and Standby (pressing this one gives you standard window with Shutdown/Restart/Sleep options). Scroll wheel works fine (also sideways - on mouse too!!!)
    Shortcomings:
    1. Moving mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard will not wake up the mac from sleep - you'll have to use On switch in the back of your mac.
    2. After waking up it takes about 10 to 20 seconds for mouse and keyboard to connect - after few trials my method to connect is as follows: after 10 to 20 seconds after waking the mac from sleep move the mouse and click (mouse connects) then press any key on the keyboard to connect the keyboard.
    3. When changing users, sometimes I get the dialog "Please press the the key next to the left shift key" (or something like that ) (I guess this is the way system X recognizes what keyboard it has to do with )
    If you can live with whose limitations, this maybe keyboard for you (mine was a gift, so I just got used to it and use Butler for programming the function keys)

  • How do you use the bluetooth VIs with a Microsoft Bluetooth Driver?

    How do you use the LabVIEW Bluetooth VIs with the Microsoft Bluetooth driver?  I have been trying with no such luck.
       I want to use 2 computers to talk to each other using the bluetooth VIs.  Eventually, I think we would like a PDA/phone to talk to a custom built electronics board with Bluetooth.  But for now, I would just like 2 computers to talk and then eventually talk to our own device.
    One is a desktop w/ the Belkin F8T012 USB adapter.  It installs fine with the Belkin driver (but I know I need to use the Microsoft Driver in order to use the LabVIEW VIs, but I have tried to get Windows to install its own but it says it is a BCM92045DG-Flash.  It says it cannot install it because it cannot find the necessary hardware.  I thought this USB adapter was on the approved Bluetooth devices list?  What else should I try?  Another Bluetooth USB adapter?
    The other computer is a Dell Latitude 820.  It has a built in Bluetooth module which I believe is the Dell 350 Bluetooth Module.  On this machine I have been able to setup a COM port with a bluetooth device (blood glucose meter).  It came with a serial port interface which we modifed to go through a bluetooth interface.  It comes up as COM40. We have been able to communicate to it using their program originally designed to talk through a serial port.  But we would like to use the Bluetooth VIs in LabVIEW.  I can't even use the Discover VI.  Perhaps it is not using the Microsoft Driver as well.  Do I just uninstall the driver and then try to have Windows install its own driver?  Do you have any other recommendations?
    Thanks,
       Javi

    Hi Javi,
    This sounds like an issue with Windows and your specific Bluetooth devices.  As you mentioned, the LV Bluetooth VI's do require that the devices use the Windows drivers.  Take a look at this link for specific requirements for using Bluetooth with LabVIEW.  Also, you can take a look at our Developer Zone tutorial on designing Bluetooth applications a found here.  Regarding your device drivers, sometimes it is as easy as uninstalling the driver and then letting Windows discover the device and fine its own driver.  You could check out the Microsoft Knowledgebase for more information.  Thanks and have a great day!

  • [Solved] Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse - Scrolling

    Hi All,
    I have been able to pair my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 with my new installation of Arch.
    All buttons work, and mouse movement is fine. However. I have been unable to get the scroll to work.
    I have been trying to achieve this using hotplugging method. I have saved an fdi file at /etc/hal/fdi/policy/btmouse.fdi
    <deviceinfo version="0.2">
      <device>
      <match key="info.capabilities" contains="input.mouse">
    #   <match key="info.product" contains="macintosh">
          <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheel" type="string">true</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelButton" type="string">2</merge>
    #      <merge key="input.x11_options.EmulateWheelTimeout" type="string">200</me$
          <merge key="input.x11_options.XAxisMapping" type="string">6 7</merge>
          <merge key="input.x11_options.YAxisMapping" type="string">4 5</merge>
    #     <merge key="input.x11_options.protocol" type="string">auto</merge>
        </match>
    #   </match>
      </device>
    </deviceinfo>
    I have looked through the forums and wiki and have been able to find little information regarding the scroll function of the mouse in hotplugging and what options correlate.
    The only info i have found is here --> http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Log … rble_Mouse.
    Could someone explain where i am going wrong...???

    Hi,
    I bought this mouse a few days ago, and it works fine, even scrolling. However, I don't use an xorg.conf file at all. Have you tried to get rid of it (take a backup of course first ) and see what happens? Also, although I tampered the fdi file for the synaptics touchpad, I didn't bother at all for the bluetooth mouse. Still, everything works fine.

  • Logitech V470  Vs Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000

    Hi ,
    I would like to go for a Bluetooth (must be transceiver free) laser mouse .Among the following models , which one wud be the best choice ..
    1).Logitech V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks with Bluetooth technology
    2).Microsoft Bluetooth® Notebook Mouse 5000
    Any suggestions from existing users of these models ...or any other model which is better than the above two ?
    Thanks,
    Nelson

    I also was debating between these two mice, as I previously had a Mighty Mouse Laser BT, and its tracking was terrible. I also bought a Gear Heads 1600dpi mouse, and while the tracking was excellent on it, I couldn't stand how long it took to come 'back' after the computer had been to sleep and it would go into it's own 'sleep mode' within 2 minutes of inactivity, causing a delay before using it again that was well over 5 seconds - very annoying!
    I wound up buying the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 because I happened to like it's design a bit more and because it's rated at 1000dpi rather than the Logitech v470's 800dpi (Yeah I know... not a big difference).
    Nonetheless, I have a Time Capsule running at 5ghz and a Linksys router running at 2.4ghz and I notice no lag or skipping that has been reported with the v470. The response time of the mouse is excellent, and there is no lag/delay when using the mouse after a short period of inactivity. When resuming my MBP from sleep it comes back to life in about 3-4 seconds, which is even faster than the mighty mouse was for me.
    This mouse is considerably better than the (much cheaper) gear heads mouse I had before. Interestingly the gear heads mouse is 1600dpi and does provide a faster and slightly more precise tracking experience, but it goes to sleep every minute I leave it alone providing for a very long delay before it resumes (sometimes up to 10 seconds!)
    Something to note: without installing a third party driver (like Steermouse) you will not be able to get the extra 'back' button to work in OS X; this annoyed me slightly when I first paired it.
    It seems that the Microsoft 5000 might be the better choice for those who stumble upon this thread looking for the same thing I was!

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 continually drops and wont reconnec

    I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 thats a few years old, but with my new OSX 10.6 MacBook Air, it keeps dropping the connection to the mouse. I can't tell if its when i close the lid all the time, sometimes it wont pick it up even when i power the laptop down and back up, although the mouse is still on. Does anyone have any ideas, or recommendations on a travel mouse the same size that I should get that would work better with the new laptop? Wondering if its because the mouse is 3-4 years old, but i figure bluetooth is bluetooth right?

    I'm not sure how the Air handles bluetooth with the lid shut in regards to sleeping. After around 40 minutes the machine cuts off entirely so it will definitely drop the connection after that. Your batteries are fresh?

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse Thumb Button

    I'm the new owner of a MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz that I just bought today. Along with it, I purchased the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse which moves and operates beautifully. The only thing is that I can't figure out a way to program the thumb button. I've seen some complaints on the web from people from a few months back who were unable to resolve the issue. I was hoping someone here could shed some light for me.
    Thanks for your thoughts and time.

    I don't know what is happening with the forum but the images are not opening and I'm unable to edit my post, so I'm uploading them again:

  • Microsoft bluetooth mouse & satellite P30 series

    I bought a microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth with an adapter USB BlueTooth.
    I put the adapter and bluetooth connection works ok. I was able to communicate with my mobile phone.
    But not my new mouse. On another computer it works fine. On mine I can'y install the driver. When I search for mouse, on bluetooth devices, it is recognized, but when I open again bluetooth devices, it isn't show.
    The driver for TouchPad is overwrited with PS2 IntelliMouse ... and my mouse is not working.
    Can anybody help me?

    Hi
    Unfortunately, its not easy to say why it doesnt work.
    Does the other computer has a touchpad or a extra mouse driver?
    Maybe there are some conflicts with the touchpad driver. You can try to remove the touchpad driver (Alps Touch pad Driver) and then try to test the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse. Maybe after this procedure the mouse will work properly.

    keycode 123 = XF86AudioRaiseVolume

    You should really try and solve/research your problem before posting here.  You have access to the same wiki and same google as the rest of us, so I am not entirely sure why you think that we should be researching these thigns for you.
    Also I am really not sure how you consider the most imprtant keys on the keyboard to be the play/pause and volume keys.  Personally I think the letters and numbers hold some pretty significant value.

  • Toshiba Bluetooth Stack vs Microsoft Bluetooth Stack

    Which Bluetooth stack is better and more reliable for Toshiba Qosmio G20-127, in your opinion Microsoft Bluetooth Stack (which comes in XP Service Pack 2), or, the native Toshiba Bluetooth Stack 4.00.23?

    I have 2 PCs desktop and notebook. My desktop PC has an HP DeskJet 690C printer, which is physically connected using the cable and LPT port. I am using Widcomm 5.01.1200 Bluetooth drivers for my desktop PC and Toshiba Bluetooth stack 4.00.30 for my notebook. Can I add a desktop PC printer for my notebook via Bluetooth? I would like to get a step-by-step tutorial about adding a printer. Both PCs are running on WinXP Pro SP2.
    At this moment I am only able to browse the Internet from my notebook (using my desktop PC and bluetooth connection).

  • How can I install Microsoft bluetooth stack on Lenovo 3000 N200?

    Hi there,
    so far I have failed to get the Microsoft bluetooth driver working on my Lenovo 3000 N200 with Windows XP in order to easily sync my BlackBerry via bluetooth. The RIM software requires the Microsoft driver and does not work with the Lenovo driver.
    I have managed to deinstall the Lenovo driver. However, I do not know how to install the Microsoft driver.
    Could someone please help me?
    Have a nice weekend, everyone!

    When I used BT for the first time (pre XP SP2 era) I just installed the MS BT package that you can download. Later SP2 came out and it was included as part of it. You just plug a BT stick in and its installed...
    One out of two: or your XP is old or the bluetooth brand is non-standard...  In the past many BT, network, etc. hardware came with its of drivers and application, maybe you can find out your exact model and search for the application by any manufacturer that uses the same chip.... Should be Lenovo of course, but....

  • Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator reappears after removal from device manager

    I have a device that will only run using PC software. It can be connected via USB or Bluetooth. I have a preference for BT as it reduces the amount of cables required when working away from a desk. It works with XP SP2 and runs well under Bootcamp. If I remove the Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator from the device manager and leave only the Apple BT driver all is okay I can communicate with the device. When I restart the computer in Bootcamp, Microsoft Bluetooth enumerator reappears in the device manager and I again cannot communicate with the BT device. Is there some way to remove the Microsoft Bluetooth driver permanently?

    I also have this laptop model and no any issues with bluetooth (my laptop runs Windows 8.1 Professional x64). Honestly for the first time I saw that any device with proper driver installed dissapeared alltogether from device manager, having been there for a few seconds. Wireless adapter is always there and wireless networks are visible. I do not think person who laptop is installed for will use BT but I want that everything works well. She is the member of Executive Board and she uses laptop only for email communication and for myriad of reports in Excel so enabling BT on regular basis via these HP tools is something I want to avoid - simply if she needs BT probably she will ask that BT is always there.

  • Is Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator compatible ?

    I'm just trying to hook up my Bluetooth mobile and PC Suite is not finding it. Please can you advise ?
    Windows XP Professional, SP2
    Dell Latitude D610

    The information you give is rather limited, so the problem may reside somewhere else than with Nokia PC Suite.
    The enumerator is obviouslt Microsoft Bluetooth in XP SP2 and I use with 2 Nokia phones for automatic "every 15 min. sync over Bluetooth to Outlook and it JUST WORKS, no problems, ever. And I go around with my laptop everywhere, shut it down, put it to stand by etc. constantly, but the phones sync immediately when they are connected.
    I think you could update a little bit more what you try to do and how, maybe we are able to help to sort it out ?

  • Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 and OSX 10.6 - Compatibility issue

    I've bought a new MacBook Pro (2,53 GHz, 4 GB RAM) and OSX 10.6.4 . With the old one (MBP 2,16 GHz, 1 GB RAM, still with OSX 10.6.4) the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 went perfectly.
    Now I'm experiencing a major compatibility issue: the same mouse, even with the same OS version but only a different MacBook Pro, won't be recognized.
    Bluetooth: activated
    Bluetooth firmware: latest
    Mouse: ON with batteries OK
    OPERATING SYSTEM: same (first restored via Time Machine and then updated with Apple Software Update)
    Suggestions?

    I went through many of the same frustrations as the members above...my mouse had been working after the upgrade and then when I set up for a presentation with a room full of teachers it wouldn't connect.  I replaced batteries, etc... so I resorted to the pad.
    When I got home i checked the batteries and tried to reconnect following all the "normal" steps until I read the comment above about removing the existing device in the bluetooth preferences.  Once I did that - the 5000 connected like a champ!  Yeah!  This is the one mouse that I have really appreciated, especially since both of the USB ports are side by side and don't allow for multiple USB connections from my "wide" cellular USB card.
