Microsoft Business Contact Manager for Mac?

I recently moved from PC to Mac and overall have had very few integration issues when working with my colleagues who are still PC based. My office recently upgraded to Office 2010 with BCM and even when I have added Office for Mac 2011, I do not have visibility or access to BCM with my Mac. Does anyone know of a way that I can integrate with BCM through my Mac?

Hi,
to my knowledge the BCM is an add-in for Windows-Outlook only.

  • Business Contact Manager for Outlook 365

I have a laptop with 8.1 OS and Office 2013 loaded and running fine. Use Business Contact Manager on my laptop and it works fine.
Can do the all the same on Office 365 except for Business Contact Manager.  It is listed and shows up under Tasks but nothing happens when it is selected.

    Hi,
I think the "Office 365" in the second paragraph should be Outlook 2013 in this customer's post.
Please go to FILE -> Options -> Add-ins, check if BCM is disabled or inactive. Enable it and start Outlook again to check the result.

  • CCME integration with Microsoft Business Contact Manager

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me, if a CCME can be integrated with Microsoft BCM such that when a call comes in details of the client pop up, should they exist in the Business Contact Manager.
Finding exact information is like find a needle in a hay stack.

    Hi Swinster,
    Apologize for the late reply.
What is your current situation? As JS2010 stated, also in this KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2101557
During the 'Specialize phase' of Sysprep, Sysprep.exe looks at the Last Modified Date of the ntuser.dat file for each user profile to determine which user profile to copy to the default user profile. However, the earlier cleanup functions of sysprep.exe
loads each Ntuser.dat file to make security ID (SID)generalizations. You cannot predetermine which user profile will be copied if more than one user profile exists.
How about we skip the copyprofile option?
Further, see if the following article would help to customise the user profiles settings:
Configuring Default User Settings – Full Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

  • Microsoft Business Contact Manager 2013, addiiton MSSQL NT Service accounts and Sysprep deployment on WIndows 7

    Hi all,
I'm running into a problem when trying to sysprep and deploy a Windows 7 image with Business Contact Manager pre-install during the audit mode. Before anyone shouts, I have posted the main question in the Windows 7 deployment forum, but I would like some
additional help as to what the "NT Service" Accounts are for with regards to the BCM insatalltion
During the installation of BCM, we get an installation of MSSQL, and during this installation MSSQL creates three user accounts used by the "NT Service" account:
    MSSQL$MSSMLBIZ
    MSSQLFLDLauncher$MSSMLBIZ
    ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ
When you run 'sysprep' with generalise option, and use the CopyProfile in the Specialise pass, sysprep copies the profile information from the last 'changed' profile. Whilst this should be the Administrator profile (as far as I can see), what is happening
is that the profile from 'ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ' is being used.
The rule of thumb when using the CopyProfile option is to ensure that only ONE account is present - i.e. the current administrator profile. The easy option is therefore just to delete the MSSQL accounts.
In the current state of play, even after I deploy the generalized image (with the copied 'ReportServer$MSSMLBIZ' account), I end up with only three users when looking at
"Manage --> Local User and Groups" (the Administrator, Guest (disabled) and HomeGroupUser$ user), so all the above "NT Service\MSSQL" accounts disappear during the sysprep process in any case.
I'm not sure what the effect will be on BCM for the end user. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the best course of action.
    Cheers
    Chris

I don't suppose anyone has got any cluse about these users, what they do and how best to then deploy BCM as part of an image?

  • Business Contact Manager 2013 Issue with drop down menus not working correctly and BCM disappearing.

We upgraded from BCM 2007 to BCM 2013.  Now the BCM disappears from Outlook occasionally and the drop down menus are confused. for instance when accessing the drop down for phone numbers, the user selects company - but the field for TTY/TDD comes up.
Shows fields that don't exist etc.
The client is using Office 2013 Pro Premium from Office 365 Small Business Premium subscription and BCM downloaded from Microsoft website.
Please let me know what the support avenues are for this product.

    Hi,
This issue may be caused since the BCM was not installed properly.
Please go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, find Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook and Uninstall it.
    Then go to
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36513, download the right version of BCM(32bit or 64bit) and install it.
If issue persists, you may provide the screenshots of the issue, post them to SkyDrive and share it via a link:https://skydrive.live.com/, then we will have a better understanding on the issue.

  • Migrate Business Contact Manager to Office365

Hi, I've today been told by presales at Microsoft that Business Contact Manager BCM is available to download and will work with the MS Office365 O365 Business Premium Plan.
We're about to migrate a client currently on MS Office 2007 and heavily using BCM and also shared mailboxes to MS Office365.
What is the migration path for their BCM data?  What is the preferred way to migrate their shared mailboxes?
    Thanks
( the link to download BCM seems to be http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=36513)

For mailbox migration to Office 365, the right place is Office 365 forum:
    http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/default.aspx
If you have a Business Contact Manager database that was created with an earlier version of the Database Tool, you can use the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool to migrate the database so that it will be compatible with Business Contact
Manager for Outlook 2013. For example, if you created a database in Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2010, you can use the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool to migrate that database.
    Open
    the Database Tool.
Click the Migrate a database option, and then click Next.
In the Database Server Instance list, select the SQL Server instance to which you want to migrate your database, and then click
    Next.
In the Database Name list, click the name of the database that you want to migrate, and then click
    Next.
When the Task completed successfully message appears, click
    Next.
Click Finish if you want to return to the Welcome page of the wizard to complete other tasks, otherwise click the
    Close button.

  • Business Contact Manager Standalone Database

We are wanting to deploy a BCM database between three users.  Can that database function without Outlook on a server or do you have to have Outlook installed on that server to utilize it for the DB?
We aren't needing Outlook on the server as nobody would access it.

    Hi,
The server does not need to have Microsoft Office or Business Contact Manager for Outlook installed, but it must have a supported version of Microsoft SQL Server installed. You can use the Business Contact Manager for Outlook Database Tool to do that.
Please refer to Manage your Business Contact Manager database on a server:

  • Cannot install Business Contact Manager - trying to run another application

    Hello
I am trying to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013, but every time when I run the installation file and the file extraction starts, a window opens trying to install a completely different programme - Wunderlist, which I had on my computer.
I deleted all of the files related to Wunderlist and tried to install BCM again, but the same thing happens over and over again. I took a snapshot of the error message. After every attempt, I find a file of the type ClickOnce Application Deployment Manifest
    related to Wunderlist C:/Users/rg/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/TemporaryInternetFiles/Content.IE5/T5VFSWN6/Wunderlist.application
Is this a problem with BCM or Wunderlist? Has anybody had a similar problem? Any suggestions how I can solve this issue?

Make sure you downloaded Business Contact Manager from Microsoft, if no, please download Business Contact Manager from this link below:

I actually haven't seen the same issue before, you may perform a clean boot to install BCM, this will help forbid the interference by other programs:

  • Business Contact Manager - migration 2010 to 2013

    Hello,
I recently migrate my BCM 2010 database to 2013 following the link "Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Outlook 2013: Update for Upgrading from Business Contact Manager 2010".
At beginning everything went smoothly and I thought that everything has been migrated successfully.
Unfortunately, when I was checking my data more carefully, I found that some fields are now mixed up. This happened inside accounts and professional contacts forms.
The options and labels for fields email, address and phone are all mixed up.
    Examples:
    - Field email address, when selected "email 3", label changes to "work", this label belongs to address field.
    - Field address, when selected "work", label changes to "email" that belongs to email field.
    - Almost all labels are mixed up :(
Can somebody help my to find a solution for this issue....
    Thank you
    Regards
    Abílio

Hello, we recently also migrated our BCM from 2010 to 2013 with the Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 Database Tool and all went also smoothly
except we now have the same problem as Abílio, meaning the fields are mixed up
    Examples:
    - Field email address, when selected "email 3", label changes to "work", this label belongs to address field.
    - Field address, when selected "work", label changes to "email" that belongs to email field.
    - Phone numbers: when selected "work", label changes to "Home"
    - Almost all labels are mixed up :(
Can somebody please help us get this right again?

  • Business Contact Manager 2010 connection timeout?

In our company we want to use Microsoft Business Contact Manager. The computers in our local network can connect fine to the shared database, however we also have an user that connects over a VPN connection. This user is getting messages that the database is
not available when trying to access the remote database. Everything else over vpn is working fine.
Personally, I think it has something to do with a to low timeout setting, but I can't seem to change this anywhere for BCM. If I use a sqlcmd (sqlcmd -E -S 192.168.178.29\mssmlbiz,5356) to connect to the database and add a "-l 20" to increase the
timeout time, it works perfectly. But thats just a command, not the actual BCM connecting.
We already tried contacting microsoft for support, but they can't help us, since they do not officially support it. Hopefully somebody here knows a solution to increase the timeout for BCM so we can setup a connection :)
Here is a link to the screenshot of the error message: http://i.stack.imgur.com/2GAid.png

    Hi,
You can connect to a Business Contact Manager server by using a VPN connection. However, the performance may not be satisfactory. Microsoft has not tested a configuration in which a user connects to a Business Contact Manager database by using a VPN connection.
Therefore, we do not recommend this configuration.
You can refer to this thread below, which seems to talk about the same problem:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/fbc8e91b-93bc-4c49-888f-7785b2a2680a/bcm-2010-cannot-find-shared-database-on-sbs-2008-using-the-bcm-tool?forum=outlook
I think catchacold's advice has helped many users, please check that out.
    Or just follow this:
    1.Open SQL Server Configuration Manager.
2.Expand SQL Server Network Configuration, and then click Protocols for SQLexpress.
    3. Double-Click TCP/IP.
4.On the Protocol tab, verify that Enabled is set to Yes.
    5. Click the IP Addresses tab, and then verify that IP ALL is configured for TCP port
5356. If the port is set to a value except for
5356, you can either change the port to 5356, or choose to keep the one that is currently set. If you have to use a port except for
5356 in order to avoid a conflict with another program that uses this port, follow the steps in the section "Use a non-standard port or instance name"
6.If it is necessary, change the port to 5356 and stop and restart the Business Contact Manager instance as prompted.

  • Bussiness Contact Manager for outlook 2013 download hijacked by

    HI
I am using Outlook 2013 downloaded as part of the Office 365 small business premium package.  I am trying to download Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013 (via
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=36513).
The file downloads fine, and then when I go to run the file the download seems to get hijacked by Premium Installer (see screenshot).
The BCM file then will not download irrespective of whether I accept or decline the Premium Installer download.
The file seems to have something to do with Zoom Downloader.
I have tried to remove Zoom Downloader with various anti malware software (hitman pro, Malwarebytes, etc etc).
I have scanned my machine with the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool and AVG and neither have picked up a threat.
Please help as I do not know whether this is a problem with my machine or the particular download.
    Thanks

I did a complete uninstall of Driver Tuner, including making sure all traces were removed and after each attempt of downloading Business Contact Manager the download file still tries to install Driver Tuner and I cancel the installation.
Strange that you say you can download with no problem, but have you tried to install? Microsoft Tech support was having the same problem and was having trouble even finding a mirror site that BCM could be download from without experiencing the same problems
of the download trying to install a different program.
Have you tried downloading BCM recently? Perhaps you could share where a clean copy of BCM 2010 can be downloaded. And before you think there is no problem, try and install it. After the extraction is when another program tries to install.
Again, short of formatting my drive and reinstalling all programs, everything has been checked and my system is clean.
So you think Time Warner Cable DNS has been hijacked? If so, why is it only the program files from the Microsoft site that has this problem.
Please share the site where a clean copy of BCM 2010 can be downloaded.
I visited the link provided by the OP and downloaded the offered file
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=36513
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/confirmation.aspx?id=36513
    http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/3/3/B333E334-EBEB-451E-AE76-ACD0C1AB1A6A/BCM2010-BCMSetup-x86-en-US.exe
It has downloaded cleanly for me, extracted, installed, and running fine, no sign of DriverTuner or anything else that has been mentioned here so far.
I did need to have Office2013 installed - this BCMsetup refuses to install with only Office2010 (despite the filename, not all that surprising).
So I'm guessing that your uninstallation of DriverTuner might have left some remnants behind, and that is probably hooking/intercepting the download and/or the BCMsetup you're doing, or there's some other crapware lingering.
And true, I agree it's unlikely that Time Warner Cable DNS has been hijacked (but at the time you posted, who knew if you were using an ISP DNS or some other local thing) - it's much more likely that your pc is infested with some further junk.
I'm in Australia, so I could be contacting a different Akamai CDN host than you are using, but since there aren't floods of people complaining about the same issue you're having, I'd guess it is a localised issue for you.

  • Business Contact Manager issue with New Users

I have an issue with a client when setting up Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2013. The client recently got a new employee and the employee was setup on an existing workstation that has BCM installed. When I launched Outlook 2013, and configured Oultook for
the new user, BCM started and needed to be configured. I went through the procedure for connecting to a 'Remote Database' on the server, typed in the server name as requested, and clicked Continue. BCM searched for the database but could not find it. The existing
user account on the workstation works just fine with BCM, and sees the remote database.
My next step was to remove BCM and re-install. This is the latest version/release of BCM for Outlook 2013. The existing user account was able to configure BCM with no issues, and found the remote database without an issue. The new user account had the same
issue as before and would not find the remote database.
I logged onto the same workstation as the administrator account we use to perform Admin tasks. I launched Outlook, configured Outlook 2013, and was able to successfully configure BCM and connect to the remote database with no issues.
I then created another New User on the server called Testaccount (TAccount), and logged onto the same workstation again, as this new user, and went through the same Outlook 2013 configuration and BCM setup. BCM has the same issue with this new user, and
cannot locate the remote database. From what I can determine, this looks to be something related to New Users that are created on the server and BCM not locating the remote database. Existing users do not have this issue when configuring BCM and connecting
    to the remote database.
Has anyone had this issue or seen this issue and knows of a fix to correct this so my client can use BCM with the new user account, and any future new users they hire?
Thank you in advance for any assistance on this matter.
