Microsoft calender time appears in ical plus 1 hour

I receive microsoft calender appointments but they appear in iCal plus 1 hour... i.e. appointment of 15.00 goes into iCal at 16.00. Can I correct this? Thanks, John

There are problems with iCal and Outlook invitations, so it might be worth checking John Maisey's YAI to see if that helps. Alternatively, or maybe first, try turning off time zone support. Also, if all the invitations are from the one source, open one with TextEdit - maybe the originator has their settings incorrect.

  • Time display in iCal - 12 & 24 hour

Has everyone / anyone else noticed the odd display of times in the new iCal?
My system setting is for a 12 hour clock and times that are displayed with minutes (e.g. 7.30) are shown correctly (i.e. 7.30 AM or PM), however 8 PM is displayed as 20 - and not even 20.00. Times on the hour are flipped into the 24 hour clock, times not on the hour display properly. Odd. Roll on OS 10.71

Not seeing the problem on my system, been running Lion for 2 months.

  • No times appear in events on ICal in weekly view

After I upgraded to Mountain Lion my ICal no longer shows the event times when I use the week format. The times appear in list, day. and month however. I checked preferences and the box is checked to show times but does not show in the event.
Is there a setting I am missing or is this a bug in the new OSX?
It is difficult to see the event time when scanning my calander for the week

I don't think it will make any difference, but delete ALL the com.apple.iCalanything.plist files in that folder. Use Font Book to verify the fonts (Helvetica.dfont HelveticaNeue.dfont LucidaGrande.dfont) used by iCal.

  • Creating iCal entries based on date/time appearing in text on any app

One thing I like about iCal's integration with Apple Mail is that the mail client is able to sense dates and times in email messages and then allow you to create iCal entries. But it seems that this date and time sensing is only limited to Apple Mail when technically users could potentially want to create iCal entries when a date and time appears on any app, such as on a web page in a web browser, in a PDF, or a word processing document. It seems logical then for iCal to be integrated with OS X's text services, so that at least if I highlighted a date and time, I could right click on it and bring up an option to create an iCal entry on based on that date and time.
Does anyone know if this feature is natively supported (for which I have yet to enable), or is there a third party app out there that will allow me to do this?

Just a quick update. I tried the first two -- text2cal and Calendar Creator -- and they don't seem to work on OS X 10.6.6.
However, on another note, I found some discussion regarding Snow Leopard's enhanced data detectors being natively able to do what I've been looking for. But I just can't seem to get it to work on my computer:
"Enhanced Data Detectors now link dates, times and other items found in text to actionable items in other applications, like iCal. For example, a drop-down menu that automatically appears when you select the time or date parts in a text enables you to create a new iCal event from a selected date or show the date in iCal." • Possible to change appearance in iCal, particularly the To Do Items?

Is it possible to change the appearance in iCal? I'm speaking about mostly the background? (I know you can change the "calendar" colors, but I'm looking for something else.)
    1. For example, it is extremely difficult, almost impossible for me to determine in week view or month view which day is "selected" unless I look at the mini calendar in the bottom left (which I don't necessarily have open all the time). The day which is selected, is nearly imperceptibly slightly darker, but I can't tell. Is there a way to change the background color to provide more contrast?
2 And, is there a way to change the color, contrast, readability of the To Do Items in the list on the right? The dates are very clearly labeled with the colors, but the actual item of what I need to be doing (the whole point of it) is in gray font and my eyes are not drawn to such a pale layout for reading. Are there customizable options?
    3. Lastly, when I go to "Today" in day view or week view, it always starts the view of each day at 12/1AM and I can only see from 12AM to noon (I have preferences set at show 12 hours) and then have to scroll down to see my appointments in the afternoon. I never have anything scheduled from 12AM to say, 6AM, so its annoying to have to scroll down every time I go to the afternoon. Is there a way to set it to start the view at an hour other than 12 AM?
Thanks for all and any suggestions/answers.

Update on (3) - I have just noticed that John Maisey has a wee script for doing it.

  • Can't get iphone calendar entries to appear in ical

I can't get iphone calendar entries to appear in ical. Also, my iphone has hung up on sycning calendars several times. Even the couple of times it has gone through it, nothing I enter on the iPhone goes into ical.
    Imac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)
    iPhone *   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Mine also seems to be syncing iCal info o.k. from my phone. Tried it again today with several calendar entries and all showed up perfectly in iCal.
I have also been using the calendarcreator service for a while on my MBP and this shows up on the info pane for my iPhone and allows me to select it to sync with. I believe this is how my iPhone info is getting into iCal but I will confirm this again tonight.

  • Change time column in iCAL

Hi: I am a physician, and I organize the schedule for the Docs at my hospital. We have (for example), pediatrician, orthopaedics, internists, etc. For several years, I have used an excel sheet that basically formats as follows:
    GROUP June 29 June 30 Jul 1 July 2 July 3 July 4 July 5
    Anesthesia x y z
    Pediatrics Dr. X J S L
So basically, it allows the Er to tell who is on-call that day. NOTE: our tradition is that the Doc is on-call that entire day, so I do NOT need to divide into time frames.
I would like to use iCAL instead of EXCEL, but I can't make the 'times" appears as specialties.
Also: any option to make different EVENTS as different colors?

Finally I found out how to change it!!!
    > System Preferences > Landuage & Text > Formats
    press "Customize" in "Times" figure
where time elements(numbers is blue) press on little white arrow and choose "00-23"
    that`s it)

  • Creating To Dos in Mail that appear in iCal

I use the To Do feature in Mail quite extensively and I want to know if there is anyway of getting these notes to appear in iCal, preferably at the time that the alarm is set? This way, they are all in one place and I will then also be able to sync them to my iPhone.
    Cheers!

Sorry. I meant in iCal. Don't know of ToDos in Mail.

In contacts there is the possibility to add a new event, as the birthdays, but they do not appear in iCal. Is there any way to make that possible? It is normal to have a person with his birthday, anniversary and others key dates you want to link to such person, but the only one shows up is the birthday. How to be able to show all those dates linked to people in the agenda in the iCal?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I sugggest you try my application, Dates to iCal. It is shareware with a 2 week trial period.
Dates to iCal 2 is a replacement for Apple's birthday calendar for iCal. It has a range of features to allow the user to choose what, and what not, to sync to iCal from Address Book.
As well as automatically syncing birthday dates from Address Book, Dates to iCal 2 can sync anniversary and custom dates. It can set up to five alarms for each date in iCal and can also set different alarms for birthdays and anniversaries. It allows the option of only syncing from one Address Book group. This application also allows for the titles of the events sent to iCal to be modified to the user's preference.
    Best wishes

  • Delegates no longer appear in iCal

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion (10.8.2), and now my Google calendar delegates no longer appear in iCal.  They show up in the menu of calendars, but not on the calendar itself.  They still show up on my iPhone and my Google calendar on the web.
How do I get them back?  I've seen one solution for loading each delegate calendar as a separate calendar, but that seems unnecessarily painful, especially for something that was working fine 3 days ago.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

I deleted and re-added my Google Calendar from iCal and selected the delegates. Nothing improved. I rebooted and still could not see the delegates. However, I went back to (menu) Calendar > Preferences > Accounts > My Google Account > Delegation and clicked on the delegates again. They reappeared.
I then went to my actual Google Calendar (in the browser, not iCal) and added a new Calendar. I switched back to iCal and added the new delegate. All delegates dissappeared, again!
It seems like when your applying changes to your delegates they break in iCal. However, once all changes are done with, everything works fine.
    A few things to note:
It's not necessary to reboot in order to restore the working order of Google delegates in iCal. You must exit iCal and force terminate the CalendarAgent process in the system monitor. When you re-open iCal the delegates slowly reappear.
Under the View menu you can choose to see all delegates and calendars by clicking Show Calendar List. A left sidebar will appear with all calendars and delegates.
By default your calendar will syncronize every 15 minutes. This can be changed under menu Calendar > Preferences > Accounts > Your Google Account under the Account tab. Nonetheless, you can force syncronize with the Cmd+R keys or clicking Refresh Calendars under the View menu.
Calendars can be filtered under the Window menu. If your calendars aren't showing up, make sure that Calendar is ticked under the Window menu. You can also use the Cmd+0 keys.

  • ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.
    Help!

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.
    Good Luck!

  • Events Added on Touch Don't Appear in iCal

    Hi,
When I added a new event on the iPod Touch and then sync with my MacBook, the new event does not appear in iCal. However, iTunes does ask me if I want to modify the specific calendar, and if I then delete the event from the Touch it will ask me if I want to delete the event upon next sync. So, it would appear that events are getting added to the calendar but aren't appearing in iCal. I've tried a variety of things, including using a different calendar, switching from syncing all calendars to only a specific set, and even resetting the iPod.
I suppose this isn't a huge issue, but it's obnoxious to have to manually enter events into iCal after I've already also added them to the iPod. Syncing in the opposite direction (iCal->Touch) works just fine.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro (15-inch Late 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.3), 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB mem
    OS 10.7.3
I was able to solve the problem through a combination of two suggestions in the troubleshooting advice provided in the like you sent:  turning off and then back on the Calendars box in System Preferences/iCloud, then restarting the computer. Works fine now, but it's scary to watch all of your calendar events disappear after you uncheck that box!
    Thanks!

  • Event created on iPhone does not appear in iCal

When I create an event on my phone and sync, it does not appear in iCal. Events created on my laptop sync without issue. Contacts sync both ways, but calendar events do not go from the phone to the computer. I am not using MobileMe to sync, simply using the USB cable.
I have tried the following to resolve my issues:
    * Make sure iTunes and iPhone are up to date
    * Make sure all calendars are set to sync with iTunes
    * Try different USB ports on the laptop
    * Restart phone and computer
    * Reset sync history in iSync and re-sync
    * Follow directions in this support article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627 to do a full reset of sync history and re-sync
Yet after trying all of those solutions, I still cannot sync events created on my phone to my laptop. Does anyone out there know of anything else I can try that might work?
    Thank you,
    Cameron

After a trip to the genius bar, I found how to solve this problem, at least for me:
    0) Plug in iPhone
    1) Start iCal
    2) Export all calendars (File -> Export)
    3) Quit iCal
    4) Delete all calendars from ~/Library/Calendars
    5) Start iCal
    6) Import all exported calendars
    7) Start iTunes, configure syncing to overwrite calendars on phone
    8) Sync iPhone

  • .vcs event not appearing in ICal

I downloaded an event that came in a .vcs format. When I open it and add it to my ICal it is not appearing in ICal. Can anyone help?

Where did the original VCS file come from? Some systems will create files, but in a format that doesn't match Apple's format (or the standard).
Specifically, if there is a space between the colon and the data value in the vcs file, then ical will complain:
Download the VCS file attachment to your desktop. Double-click on it, ical should see it, but then complain. Check "console.log" via the Console application, and you'll likely see an error like:
    2006-11-02 11:21:27.256 iCal[725] Incorrect version for vCal file. Got ' 1.0'
    2006-11-02 11:21:27.256 iCal[725] Fatal vCalendar parser error !
Note the space prior to the 1.0 in the error message. Technically, that's a bug in whatever software which produced the VCS message, as there is not supposed to be a space (IIRC), but why ical is so picky as to not allow/ignore the space, I don't know.
Using TextEdit (or similar) you can remove the spaces after the colons in the file, and it will import successfully (unless you're seeing a different problem).
I have no solution for doing this in any automatic way -- anyone have suggestions?

  • Why don't changes I make to calendar on iPhone appear on iCal or iCloud calendar?

Objective: make changes to calendar on iPhone (iOS 5.0.1), iPad (iOS 5.0.1), iCal (on MAC with 10.7.3) that automatically sync with each other through iCloud.
I had a MobleMe account and moved to iCloud. However, when I make changes to my calendar on iPhone or iPad they do not appear in iCal on MAC or on iCloud calendar.
As an aside, when I make changes to iCal or on iCloud they do appear on iPhone if I connect it to iTunes.
Ive been searching through forums and trying different things all day & still can't figure it out.
