"Microsoft" calls to tell you that your PC has been hacked

I just got a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. He told me that my computer was infected.
He said that Microsoft knew that the PC was hacked because of the error reports I chose to send them when the pop up came up.
You probaly have seen the ones like this.
This was ineresting since I know that no personal information goes to Microsoft when you send the error reports.
Knowing that ther are a large number of scams like this, I asked for the phone number to call them back. He said that he would call me back. Then after pushing some more he gave me a bunch a random numbers.
If you look at Microsoft's Forum and the have a thread called "Phone warnings from 'Microsoft.'"
Bascially, Mircosoft didn't call me to warn me that my PC was hacked. Someone was fishing trying to get acess to my PC.
If you get a call, beware.

Does iOS7 tell you if your phone has been fully charged?
Yes, currently I'm using iPhone 4s with iOS 7.1, following behaviour I could observed,
When batter is charging--> Top right corner in the iPhone charging symbol is filled with white color.
When batter is fully charged--> Top right corner in the iPhone charging symbol is filled with black color.

    Hi all,
I just recieved a notification that says "your iphone has been hacked. All your photo's and calls are compremised"..... Should I be worried or is this a very pathetic attempt of a hacker? Please advise as soon as possible. Below is a screen shot.
    Thank you for your help.

Is your phone jailbroken? If not, just ignore/delete the message...it's a Flash SMS, & nothing but spam. If your phone is not jailbroken, you have nothing to worry about.

From which log files that Oracle tells you that a session has successfully connect or unsuccessfully connected. Does the listener.log contain this information? Thank you.

Listener reports status = 0 (success) in listener.log,
even though connection to DB fails with incorrect password.

    Here's the scoop, new friend.....
When you boot into Time Machine you'll get the same OS X Utilities screen as you would if you booted into the Recovery HD. So, from there go into Disk Utilities to erase/format your internal drive. After that's done, back out to the OS X Utilities screen and select the restore option. Just follow the prompts to select the TM back up date you want to restore from and where to restore it to. Pretty straight forward.

  • How do you tell if your iphone has been hacked?

How do you tell if you iphone has been hacked? I have an iphone 3GS and I've gotten text messages from 2 different people that i don't know, telling me they can't see the pics that I've sent them & wanting to know what the pics are of. One of the numbers had been part of a group message that I recieved from a friend. I just thought she ended up responding back to me by mistake thinking she was sending a message to the originater of the group message. Then a couple weeks later i got another text from a person I have never contacted wanting to know who I was & why I was sending multimedia messages that she couldn't open. Just trying to figure out what is going on. If I postd this on the wrong group, please let me know which one I need to post this on. Thanks.

Well that's good to know. As far as I know the phone has not been jailbroken, unless it was done before I bought it. I purchased it used from an individual who said it was restored to factory defaults.
It just concerns me that people are texting me telling me that I'm sending them pics that they can't open. I've checked my bill online & nothing shows up that shouldn't be there.

  • Our records indicate that your phone has been replaced??

I am trying to get some support for my iphone 3g, and when I entered the serial number I got this message:
Our records indicate that this product has been replaced. Please provide your product's replacement serial number to find its support and warranty coverage information. For more information, please contact us.
I bought this phone brand new from an AT&T store and it has never been replaced. Any ideas why I would get this message?

    Call Apple and ask.

  • How can i tell if my iphone 4 has been hacked into?

Here is the situation.....a friend of mine is in a bad marriage. She found out her husband bugged her laptop and her phone and is finding out all of her conversations. The other day, we were all at a buffet restaurant and he was sitting at the table with us, without thinking anything of it, I left my purse with my phone at the table while all but him went up to the bar. Later on that night, I was in the car with another friend and we were talking in detail about our friends situation. The next day my friend whom I was talking to in the car, checked her answering machine, and our conversation was on her machine. I checked my call log AND detailed billing from AT&T  thinking I may have butt dialed her house, but there is no record of me calling her house. The same with her, she as no record of calling her house and her home phone does not have caller ID. This guy is very tech savy and is the manager of 4 AT&T stores. Is it possible for him to have hacked into my phone and put some sort of bug in it? If this is possible, is it also possible for my phone to be able to record our conversation without a call being placed? If it is possible, how can I tell if my phone has been hacked?
    Thanks

It would be extremely difficult for someone to be able to grab your iPhone out of your purse and hack into it without having a laptop computer with him with which to jailbreak the iPhone and time to work on it. I can't say it would be impossible, though. I'd suggest as a precaution you perform a Restore on your iPhone; if it restores successfully that would clear any jailbreak and remove any hack.

  • I want to download a free ap, i get the verification required message and sign in. But then i get a notice telling me that "Your acct has been accessed from a new computer or device, and you must verify your payment info before you can make purchases."

I noticed that my credit card info is old.  I'm wonering if that could be the reason for the notice.  OR does it reallly mean that my account has really been accessed by another source?  Of course, this is the first time seeing this and it's Easter!
    Any help greatly appreciated.

It means that is is the first time that the device that you are using has been used to make a purchase in the iTunes Store.
I get the same message whenever I buy a new iPhone or iPad. It's normal.

  • Could you (in the next verions of firefox), include a Warning Box, for people deleting "recently bookmarked". It does not tell you that your systematicallly deleting bookmarks that are in other folders.

You should change firefox, or at least have a warning box when deleting "recently bookmarked". I decided to clear that folder out, and then when I went to use a bookmark.. I didn't have any bookmarks in ANY FOLDER at all. I did manage to restore the booksmarks, but easier to just warm people, or just let them clear out the recently bookmarked. It had bookmarks from over a year ago that I had deleted in other folders, but still manage to hang out in the "recently bookmarked" folder. Oh, and if I delete a bookmark in a folder, please have it delete the bookmark in the "recently bookmarked" also.
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
    == Cleaning up my bookmarks

"Recently Bookmarked" is a so called [[Smart Bookmarks folders|Smart Bookmark]] that shows the result of a place query in a list.
"Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" are examples of the so called [[Smart Bookmarks folders]] and are not real existing folders.
Such smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the bookmarks and the history in Firefox 3.
The bookmarks that show up in such smart folder listing are stored elsewhere in another folder and any changes made are applied to the real bookmark or history item.
Such lists show a maximum of 10 entries by default and you add a new bookmark or visit a website then a new item is added at the top and the entry at the bottom disappears from that list.
The items that are removed from the list are not gone, but merely do not show up anymore in that list.
Any actions like copy & paste or delete that you perform on bookmarks in such a list are done on the original bookmark.
If you do not want a specific list then remove that query (right-click: Delete), but do not delete the content that is displayed in such a list.

  • How can you find out if your computer has been hacked

For some reason, I couldn't find any information on how I can tell if someone has hacked into my computer or not.
    I have an iMac:
      Model Name:    iMac
      Model Identifier:    iMac8,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2.66 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    6 MB
      Memory:    2 GB
      Bus Speed:    1.07 GHz
I was trying to save something on the computer and noticed that a co-worker's name was under the SHARED section in one of mu folders. He was in my computer! How can I find that information? His name was actually listed so I know he was on there. I even texted him then he stopped.
I have Verizon DSL and and older version of Norton Firewall (4).
He's my subordinate and we don't usually have problems. What do I do?

You probably made your system available to him by opening File Sharing. Open System Preferences - Sharing - File Sharing and look under Users. I you see it's open to him or everyone then highlight that and click the - symbol to remove them.
If you are using Norton then remove it following Norton's instructions. Their software tends to create more issues than it solves. OS X has a firewall built into it (System Preferences - Security - Firewall tab) so having a redundant firewall is unnecessary and a waste of system resources and a waste of money.

  • Scrolling through photos in PE is a nightmare because you can be looking at or selecting a photo and the next thing you know, your position has been moved far away from the photo you want.  How do I stop this from happening?

Can someone tell me how to prevent the screen from taking off and navigating to a new place while I am viewing photos in PE?

I don't think so.  It's an apple mouse that and under the setup menu it's referred to as a Bluetooth mouse

  • How can I tell if my iPhone 3GS has been hacked????

My phone is not jailbreak and I dont use iCloud.
    1.  I recently upgraded my Chase app. When I login in today, it said there's another user on this phone have change notification. It was a weird message pop up. And it told me if I want to overwrite the notification setting. I just delete the app.
    2. When I watch my tv show video on this website, there's always a pop up telling me to download Jelly Splash. And sometime it stop my video and go directly to the app center.
    3. I have unlimited data plan. Usually, when I reach my limit, my Internet slow down. It was slow for a well and after that my internet was fast again.  Weird. At first i was happy and now im worried. Can someone hacked into my phone and use a faster Internet. I did use wifi once and it didn't have a lock next to the username.
The stuff I've mention above happened all this month. Please help. And what should I do next. Thank you so much.

    1) The notification might be due to the upgrade. Try reinstalling the app and see if that helps.
    2) The pop ups from watching tv shows on websites are usually adverts. And if you tap them they will redirect you to the app in the app store.
    3) I have not heard of a case where someone hacked into another person's iPhone.
You mention you have an unlimited data plan.. So what is the limit you're hitting when you say you've reached your limit?

  • My Airport Extreme is flashing yellow, but I still have internet connections and iPhone access to the network.  Does this mean that my network has been hacked or something else?

The light on my Airport Extreme is flahing yellow, but I still have network access to the internet with no issues.  PLus, I can still get into the network with my iPhone, too.
DO I have a problem (such as net work being hacked)?
Was going to shop and don't want my cc number scattered all over creation.
    Thanks.

    Suggest the following:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Status (2nd line on the summary page)
A window will open to explain why the amber light is blinking and offer suggested actions to remedy things.
If everything seems to be working OK, it might simply be a message that an update is available for your AirPort Extreme.
Now you know what to do next time the amber light is blinking.
