Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse is not detected in 10.10.3

Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Mouse is not getting detected as a bluetooth mouse on OSX 10.10.3. During pairing, it just shows up as a bluetoth device and after some time, there is a popup that no mouse is connected. Also, when you try to add the mouse though Mouse->Add a Bluetooth Mouse screen, the mouse is not gettng detected.
But the mouse works once its paired, but its not seen as a Mouse by OSX. Its just being detected as a generic bluetooth device.

Its listed in the data sheet for the product. But the microsoft site does not show the same in compatibility list

  • Since update Bluetooth mouse doesn't detect

    Updated last night, with new security update & may have also updated bluetooth firmware and since then my Microsoft bluetooth mouse doesn't detect, it worked perfectly before. Bluetooth detects phone so it is working. Are there any fixes to this?

    Tried everything. Even tried detect new device. Mouse is definately working on other computer.
    Tried Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at Startup. At startup bluetooth icon briefly shows connected for a few seconds, then nothing.
    Seems a lot of people on forum have lost mouse/keyboard connectivity since updating last night.
    Would appreciate any help. Trackpad is def no comparison for photoshop etc.

    The bluetooth functionality on the iPhone is limited. It's basically limited to audio devices (headsets, for instance), although certain apps allow greater functionality. Search the app store for "bluetooth share"

  • Targus bluetooth mouse will not connect in bootcamp

    I have a Targus blueetooth mouse that will not connect in bootcamp. It has worked fine for a long time in XP and 7. Then I upgraded the haddrive and had to do a lean install of Windows 7 and the Apple bootcamp 5. Now it will not connect at all. I have the "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" seleted , it sees the mouse but it tries to connect and just stalls. This is very frustrating since without the mouse it is nearly impossible to troubleshoot Windows.

    Bluetooth mouse will not connect my wireless mouse...
    what works +every time+ for me :
    use your fingers to move the cursor up to the bluetooth icon (top right of display)
    click bluetooth icon, select user mouse / connect
    then quickly move the cursor up (with fingers) so it touches or is very close to the bluetooth icon
    and start clicking with your mouse (making sure the mouse is on obviously).
    I have NO idea why but this works on my MacBookPro everytime. If I try to connect without moving the cursor near the BT icon it won't connect (or takes at least 10 trys).

  • Bluetooth device is not detected during installation of bluetooth driver

    Hi , Initialy bluetooth was working properly, Few day ago I saw that there was no bluetooth icon in system trayas well as in list device manager. So I uninstalled the driver and try to install. But during installation it showthat bluetooth device in not detected and it exit.

    Downloads the Windows 7 Hotkey Features. This will enable the wireless console with Fn+F5. Then you can enable bluetooth from there. Windows's built-in bluetooth drivers should work fine, maybe even with an update from WU if you're lucky.
    -tm
    Edit: Don't forget to download the System Interface Driver too.

  • Mouse wheel not detected

    I'm using 64-bit arch on a MacBook Pro.  The trackpad is working much better now (thanks Allan McRae!) but the mouse wheel on any external mice is not detected.  For example on MacOS I have a Logitech M555b connected via Bluetooth, and magically that mouse keeps working in Arch... but without any wheel.  (aside... that's interesting, it must be that the MB bluetooth has firmware to treat connected HID devices as USB HID? because I didn't even have to mess with bluez to get it working)    Likewise if I plug in an old USB Dell mouse its wheel doesn't work either.  Here's the relevant stuff from Xorg.0.log:

    I tried adding options to force it to 7 buttons in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf:
    Section "InputClass"
            Identifier "evdev pointer catchall"
            MatchIsPointer "on"
            MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
            Driver "evdev"
       Option         "Buttons" "7"
       Option         "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
       Option         "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 6 7"
    EndSection
    which didn't help.
    xev doesn't see events for the wheel.

    Hi,
    I'm having the same issue, I bought a Logitech Bluetooth mouse, and I found that it works "magically" without any configuration.
    The strange thing it's that as far as I know, the btusb.c of kernel 26.36 doesn't have the right string for macbook pro bluetooth controller, so for hcitool, dmesg, etc, there isn't any bluetooth in the system.
    The mouse as ecloud told, works, but without the mouse wheel. I'm not sure what would be the best thing to do, if recompile the kernel to make bluetooth work, or maybe it's possible to configure udev to have the wheel working...
    Any suggestion or help would be very appreciated!
    Thanks,

  • Bluetooth mouse does not connect

    Surface Pro 2; Win 8.1
    Built-in Bluetooth
    I am attempting to connect a Bluetooth mouse to the surface when working at my desk. I have Bluetooth turn on and it keeps scrolling ... searching.
    I have 2 Bluetooth mice that I am trying to get to connect:
    1. Verbatim model 96991 (no transceiver)
    2. Microsoft wireless mobile 3500 (with transceiver). I loaded Microsoft Mouse & Keyboard center. When run, cannot find device. I did not connect the transceiver because I want the internal stack to work.
    I wish to use internal surface Bluetooth stack.
    What do I do to get MS mouse working on surface 2 Pro win 8.1 with internal Bluetooth stack (no transceiver)
    John Lenz

    MS Bluetooth mouse (w/USB) will not connect natively to Surface2 PRO.
    Another Bluetooth mouse (no USB) does but does not sustain connection. I'll use this one.

  • Mouse clicks not detected on JTabbedPane

    Hi all,
    I have a JPanel placed inside a JTabbedPane. I want to double-click on the JPanel and bring up a JDialog. This works fine if the JPanel is not in a JTabbedPane, but if it is on a JTabbedPane, then the mouse clicks are not detected. I'd greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

    Here is a sample program that seems to work:
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.event.*;
    public class TestInternalFrame extends JFrame
         public TestInternalFrame()
              JDesktopPane desktop = new JDesktopPane();
              setContentPane( desktop );
              JInternalFrame internal = new JInternalFrame( "Internal Frame" );
              desktop.add( internal );
              internal.setLocation( 50, 50 );
              internal.setSize( 300, 300 );
              internal.setVisible( true );
              JTabbedPane tabbedPane = new JTabbedPane();
              internal.getContentPane().add(tabbedPane);
              tabbedPane.setPreferredSize( new Dimension(300, 200) );
              JPanel panel = new JPanel();
              tabbedPane.add( "Empty Panel", panel );
              panel.addMouseListener( new MouseAdapter()
                   public void mouseClicked(MouseEvent e)
                        System.out.println(e.getClickCount());
         public static void main(String args[])
    TestInternalFrame frame = new TestInternalFrame();
    frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
    frame.setSize(400, 400);
    frame.setVisible(true);

  • My apple bluetooth mouse is not being recognized by my macbook air - and it was yesterday!

    My apple bluetooth mouse was working perfectly with my macbook air until I had to change the batteries.  Now it is not discoverable and I really can't operate without a mouse.  I tried another logitech usb mouse and that was not discoverable either.  Please help!

    Today, when I turned on my iMac, neither my bluetooth mouse or keyboard were recognized. I had to connect my old USB keyboard-mouse to type this message.
    And yes, I restarted my iMac, didn't help.
    Can someone help?
    PS: Barry, "resetting SMC" doesn't help

  • Bluetooth Mouse can not connect...

    Hi All, I am aware this is an issue however can not figure out how to resolve it. I have a 2007 macbook 2.16 dual core I'm using a bluetooth mouse which works perfectly with Mac OSX Lion. However when I switch to Bootcamp running Windows 7 64 bit, the mouse can not connect. The computer will find the mouse but when I click on the mouse icon in the bluetooth setup to continue installation the circle spins and spins and says connecting to device and nothing happens. The mouse works and bluetooth works, but not in bootcamp. I am tech savy so hit me with your best shot. Thank you!!

    Vnahaze2000, I still haven't figured out the problem. Try this website, it's from apple. There are drivers you can install which will hopefully alleviate your problem. I downloaded every driver and unfortunatelly no luck. But maybe it will help you. http://support.apple.com/downloads/#macoscomponents      Good luck!!

  • Set Up Bluetooth Mouse does not discover magic mouse

    Had been having difficulty with magic mouse randomly exhibiting eratic scrolling so went into system preferences to reset the mouse settings (may have happened when upgraded to snow leopard). Under Bluetooth, mouse is paired and on but when i went into mouse settings and tried to use Set Up Bluetooth Mouse (I changed settings to enable two finger scrolling) mouse is not found. BTW there is a USB mouse connected, which I did when the eratic problems started.

    Hello:
    Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
    I am not sure what would happen if both the Bluetooth and USB mice were connected at the same time......

  • Put Intel 7260AC card into Yoga 2 Pro, now Bluetooth mouse does not work!

    I still have a bluetooth adapter, and under bluetooth devices it says the mouse is paired (this is a Microsoft Sculpt Comfort mouse), but when I try to move the mouse I get no movement on screen! I've tried to remove the mouse and I get an error: "Remove failed". Please help! - ice

    Hi,I also have a Y2P and a MS Sculpt Comfort mouse. Upgraded to WIN10 last night and also have bluetooth problems. First the BT adapter was giving error 10, after "resolving" that issue the adapter seems to turn on with no errors but I can't get any BT device to work or pair. Have found several other users complaining on other forums so it could be a wider problem with BT drivers. Let's hope Lenovo and/or Intel are working on a fix and fast.
