Microsoft Direct Push service

Hi
Is there a list of Nokia's anywhere that directly support the "Microsoft Direct Push" synchronisation service?
We use Orange mobile services in the UK and the current phone is the HTC Touch Smartphone.
Just looking for alternatives
many thanks

Thanks Petrib
The phone list we can currently use
http://www.business.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Business&cid=1135315302024&extarg1=3&ext...
Bit limited. I personally have a 6120 Classic (quite good) and a E65 (Browser has no mouse pointer and Nokia have not released a firmware to fix it)
Can't really understand the logic for compatability though. The E65 has a slightly older version of Symbian than my 6120c. and the 6300 has the same Symbian version as that... so why is it not a compatible product?
very frustrating!

  • Microsoft direct push not working with Versamail build 77

    Help,
After 2 or 3 emails or just a few minutes I get an error that states "Please sync your EAS account" when set up to receive emails as they arrive.  Sync every 5 minutes works but drains battery and does not notify me immediatly of an email.  This occurs using the versamail build 77 for Centro just released on Jan. 16, 2008 with exchange 2003 from my company.  Other smartphones work just fine when set up "as they arrive".
The error in detail says Microsoft Direct Push enabled Disconnected  Error 0006:1212:1480
    Please Help!
    What do I do?
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

Oddly enough, this has been just resolved...  Palm/Sprint recently released a firmware upgrade for the Centro, and one of the things that changed is that VersaMail supports Direct Push again...  and I think it's working pretty well!
My understanding is that this is only for the Sprint version right now, so hopefully there'll be similar support for the other versions soon.

  • The Remote Procedure call failed error in Microsoft Direct Access configuration

    Hi,
I have setup the Microsoft Base lab using Microsoft TLG, I have generated the IPHTTPS and NLS server certificate using the Microsoft PKI. After that I have installed the Microsoft Direct Access role but at the time of configuring the Remote Access Server
it fails with the remote procedure call failed error.
Could anybody help me to resolve this issue. I have searched a lot but no any solution found. It will be very helpful, if some one can point me where I did mistake.
    Thanks,
    Arif

sql server services give error the remote procedure call failed [0x800706be] in sql server 2008.
To resolve this issue, I executed the following mofcomp command in command prompt to re-register the *.mof files:
    mofcomp.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof".
    but it does not work.
Plz give the exact soln to solve this error.
So when you tried starting SQL server service it gave the error right  ?  or when you click on SQL server services in SQL server configuration manager(SSCM) you get this error. Can you be more clear.  As far as I read your question it has something
to do with permission. Close SSCM window and this time  right click on SQL server configuration manager and select run as administrator and check if you can see SQL server services

  • Permanent SSL connection in background (own poll/push service)

    Hello
I’m new here and I will first say hello! I'm 46 years old and I am from Germany. I work as an software developer since 1993 and I know, my English isn't the best ;-)!
    Now to my questions:
I have written a client Server application which is a secure and real time (< 5 sec) alert system. At the moment the clients can be a PC (Windows, Linux or Mac) or an Android Smartphone.
The App’s have all a permanent SSL connection to the server.
So, if  one  client send an alert, the server can send this alert to all specified clients which are online.
Also the server can send alerts to specified client, if the count of online clients is under a specified number.
So my customers have a very high security, that in case of a fault, very fast enough employers received the alert!
Now it is on me, to create an I-Phone APP witch work as a client on this system.
I read now many documents, how can I set up a permanent SSL connection in the I-Phone APP as a background task and if I understand it right, than this is not possible.
For that functionality the Apple push service is normally used, but in case of my application there is a problem, because an Apple push notification has no guaranty about the running time.
As far as I read multitasking background function are not for network activity’s (without the APS)
Have someone an idea how can I solve my problem?
    Thanks Aki

    Hi etresoft,
thanks again, I'm happy that I found here so fast help.
Have you any link to a dokument, how does IOS support keep alive in a multitasking background task, I didn't find anything (maybe I searche with the wrong words)?
The main reason, why I can't use the Apple push notification service is, that then my server dosen't know, who is online and receiveable!
The second is, that I can't start die APP direct, when the IPhone is in look modus (in Android the APP has is own look screen and speak the mesage after the alert sound!).
And the third, that I dosen't know (have a garrenty), how long the message need to be displayed on the phone.
That this application drain battery is clear! On Android it is tolerable (round about 10% more or instead of 30h, 27h battery live time on my device).
For my customer 20h battery livetime, will be enought, because the divices are recharged every night.
    Regards Aki

  • Is Nokia 5800 Direct push compatible??

    Hi all,
I want to know if Nokia 5800 is direct push compatible. I wat get my coporate mails on to my device. My IS says the phone must be direct push compatible for me to receive mails on my device.

The phone is broadly speaking push e-mail compatible, but it does depend to some degree on what service you use for your e-mail. For example, Noki'a on push service is in the process of being launched for the 5800, but I don't think things like Mail For Exchange work yet.

  • Direct push stop working for many iphones but not all including Android.

We have 2 node DAG and devices are connecting to Kemp load balancer for HA. Last week,There were Cisco Network switch activity and since then few iphone' direct push is stop working however fetch is working fine. There is no alert on LB/exchange
Funny things is, my iphone is working fine .. i am getting email before it shows on outlook.

    Hi Amit,
According to your description, I understand that some mobile phone cannot get the push from Exchange server after add an Cisco Network switch in your environment, besides test ActiveSync failed with very long delay.
I want to double confirm some points, please help to collect the answer for following questions:
    1. What’s the function for Kemp load balance, hardware or network traffic optimization?
    2. Are you using Cisco network switch as network load balance functionality?
    3. How about the Outlook sync from the external?
Depend on the error message and your test, it’s related to Network issue instead of  Exchange.
Please try to use Microsoft Network Monitor to get more detail progress of the connection of sync, for more resource:

  • DAG - Backup failing on 1 DB only with error - The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer instance ID failed with error code 80070020 when preparing for a backup of database 'DB012'

    Hi Board,
i´ve search across the board, technet and symantec sites but did not found a hint about my problem.
    we drive a 2 node DAG (Location1-Ex1-mb1
    Location2-exc1-mb1), on SP2 RU4 patchlevel with 40 Databases.
Since some time the backup of one - and only one DB - is failing with these events, logged on the Mailboxserver on which the passive DB is hosted.

The backup Application - Symantec Backup Exec 2010 R3 – states, this error
Snapshot provider error (0xE000FED1): A failure occurred querying the Writer status.
Check the Windows Event Viewer for details.
Writer Name: Exchange Server, Writer ID: {76FE1AC4-15F7-4BCD-987E-8E1ACB462FB7}, Last error: The VSS Writer failed, but the operation can be retried (0x800423f3), State: Stable (1).
    Symatec suggests within http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH184095
to restart the MS Exchange Replication Service – BUT the mentioned eventID
8229 isn´t present on any of the both Mailboxservers.
The affected Database is active on Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server and in an overall healthy state. I found during my research, that below Location2-Exc1-Mb1 Server, there are not removed shadow copies present!
This confuses me, since all Backups are normally taken from the passive copy of a Database.
So my questions to the board are:
    * Does anyone is facing similar issues?
    * Can someone explain why snapshots are present on the Mailboxserver hosting the Active Database, whilst the errors are logged on the passive one?
    -          * Does someone know the conditions, why shadows copies remain and
aren´t removed in a proper manner?
What can cause the circumstance, that only 1 DB is facing such issues?
    Any suggestion is welcome!
    BR

    Hi Lenora,
I´ve encreases VSS / Exchange Backup Log levels to expert, before starting
those things i´ve all tried now:
    - Backup from passive DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from active DB (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from passive DB without GRT enabled (forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    - Backup from active DB without GRT enabled(forced within Symantec Backup Exec)
    All those attempts failed.
But brought some more details - the backup against the active DB states, that there is still a backup in progress and therefore this backup is cancelled by VSS.
The Solution was, that i´ve needed to restart the Exchange Replication Service on the Mailbox Server hosting the passive DB.
Backups are working again on all DBs!
    THX for your replys.
    Best regards

  • Exchange 2013 - The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the configured threshold

Noticed at about noon that no emails had been received all day. Began to investigate and found that the MS Exchange Transport service had been set to deny email submission because it was using too much memory on the server (91%).
The error message makes me think that we may have been getting used by malware or something similar.“The Microsoft Exchange Transport service is rejecting message submissions because the service continues to consume more memory than the
    configured threshold.”
There are also several warning messages that list particular IP addresses and say that a connection from that IP was denied because there were already the maximum number of connections (20).
From what I can tell, all of the IP addresses are from Taiwan.
The time period for which some emails may be missing is from close of business yesterday ( 4/3/2014) through about 12:45 today (4/4/2014).
From the time I spent reading and trying to figure out the error, I think we may need to readjust our throttling policies to prevent this from happening.
The exchange server is currently running at 90%+ CPU and 50%+ memory usage the majority of the time, and I’m not sure how to fix it.
Also, I cannot get into EMS I get a access denied message from the destination computer. (Exchange server) I want to get into there to change the throttling policy back to default, since we disabled it.
    The Error reads:
The WinRM client cannot process the request. The WinRM client tried to use Kerberos authentication mechanism, but the destination computer <Exchange> returned an 'access denied' error. Change the configuration to allow Kerberos authentication
mechanism to be used or specify one of the authentication mechanism supported by the server. (How do I do this?) To use Kerberos, specify the local computer name as the remote destination. (I'm trying to use EMS while logged into the local Exchange server)
Also verify that the client computer and the destination computer are joined to a domain. (Exchange is on our domain, and the computer trying to connect is the same computer) To use basic, specify the local computer name as the remote destination, specify
Basic authentication and provide user mane and password. Possible authentication mechanisms reported by server.

I assumed control of this exchange system already in place and I do not have much experience with exchange 2013 or server 2012. I do know 2008, but that doesn't help very much in this situation.
    Recent changes to the system:
About three days ago we switch our sessions policy to allow many more connections, and I believe this caused the issue. This is what I changed it to:
Made the registry DWORD (32-bit) "Maximum Allowed Sessions Per User" and modified the value to 1000. Location of registry change @ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem
I just changed it to 10 from the 1000. I'm hoping this solves this. So far no.
Also, I am not the best in the shell or command line interfaces. Any help would be wonderful!

    Hi,
Yes, could be hardware performance issue. Try recycle the Transport process and see if the issue persists.

  • "The Microsoft Exchange Diagnostics service terminated unexpectedly"

Hi all, this happens about twice per hour and started some days ago, no reconfigs etc that should make it do that as far as I can find. Have been running CU6 for some months without this happening until recently.
    Also getting AppEventID 1007:
Failed to create or start performance logs with error: System.ArgumentException: Value does not fall within the expected range.
       at PlaLibrary.DataCollectorSetClass.start(Boolean Synchronous)
       at Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.PerformanceLogger.PerformanceLogSet.StartLog(Boolean synchronous)
       at Microsoft.Exchange.Diagnostics.PerformanceLogger.PerformanceLogMonitor.CheckPerflogStatus(). Performance log: ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog.
    Found this article
http://blogs.technet.com/b/anya/archive/2014/11/25/microsoft-exchange-diagnostics-service-crashing-post-cu6-upgrade.aspx, but I do not actually understand what the "fix" really is here, many steps are made for Diagnostics buth which
of those are necessary to take? And I'm not so into exporting/importing those XMLs.. I have only one E2013-server also.
Hope someone can clarify this. I was thinking of installing CU7 if that might fix it, but I'm not sure if I dare in danger of running into trouble with things not working as they should.
    Thanks,
    -Ray.

    Hi,
Based on the description of that article, the root issue was due to upgrade. While upgrading to Exchange 2013 CU6, the upgrade did some modifications in the registry hives the ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog got missing from Task Scheduler, performance
monitor and was also missing from the location C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\PLA
Afterwards he did many troubleshooting steps to this issue.
Actually we don’t need to export/import templates key to XML file. We can just delete both ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog and ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog entries from the above registry location and then reboot server. After rebooting server,
the new default ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog will be recreated automatically in the task scheduler and performance monitor.
Here are my suggested steps for ference:
Ensure that the templates key are present under
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\PLA\Templates
    Locate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tree\Microsoft\Windows\PLA\ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog and delete ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog and ExchangeDiagnosticsPerformanceLog entries.
Reboot server and go to registry to check if that two entries have been recreated.
Check if default ExchangeDiagnosticsDailyPerformanceLog was recreated in task scheduler and performance monitor.
If this issue persists, please let me know.
    Best Regards.

  • Get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus -identity DBNAME | fl gives errors "The Microsoft Exchange Replication service encountered an error while attempting to start a replication instance for". DB is mounted and the DB copies are in healthy status.

We are getting a SCOM alert " Database copy isn''''t keeping up with the changes on the active database copy and has failed."
When we go to the mailbox server and check we found all the Mailbox DB's are mounted properly and their copies are in healthy state. Further digging to this problem we found that there are no critical events to this DB in the eventviewer.
When we runt he get-mailboxdatabasecopystatus -identity DBNAME | Fl then in the ErrorMessage section we get error "The Microsoft Exchange Replication service encountered an error while attempting to start a replication instance for . If the copy doesn't
recover automatically, administrator intervention may be necessary. Error: The directory is not empty."
    ErrorEventID : 4126
In the event viewer we get a Information event 4114 saying the DB redundancy health check passed and in the details section we get the same error message mentioned above.
Also we observed that the "MSExchange Replication" counter "Failed" is set to 1 for this perticular DB but is is set to 0 for the other DB's. Tried restarting the MSEXChange replication service but still the "Failed" counter
is 1 and the SCOM alert is still active.
    The version is Exchange 2010 SP3 UR5
    Any clues???

    Hi,
From your description, this issue only affect one mailbox datatabase.
Please use the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy command to check result.
If it doesn't work, please dismount your active database copy and check if this is Clean Shutdown, if it's dirty shutdown, please bring to clean shutdown and mount this database copy. Then run the Update-MailboxDatabaseCopy command again to check result.

This is a little late, I know. but I just spent the day
struggling with this very issue. Hopefully this can help someone
else in the future. Here's my solution...
    on MX:Operation -- result="fillXML()"
    then
    private function fillXML(): void {
    var x:XML = new
    XML(wsProps.GetDatasetData.lastResult.toString());
...do what you need with your xml...
I use an XMLList node of the result as the source property
for an XMLListCollection bound to a datagrid. Let me know if you
need more help to get it working. It works like a charm now that I
figured that out. I don't know if it's a slimy hack, or not, but it
    gets the job done.

  • Use Microsoft Online Directory Services as a user authentication provider for our own SharePoint farm?

    Hi,
I've managed to configure my farm so that  Microsoft Online Directory Services (Office 365 etc.) can be used for STS authentication, but what I'm actually trying to do is allow user authentication - that is, I'm hoping to be able to use the user's
O365 credentials to authenticate them in my own farm so they can view certain parts of it. If I need to write my own login form or authentication provider or whatever that's fine, as long as the user doesn't need to enter anything when they access my farm
(provided they already have cached O365 credentials in their browser session).
FWIW I actually need to be able to support the possibility that users are coming from multiple O365 tenancies, whereby each site collection will be configured to allow users from a different O365 tenancy (more or less).
If it's not possible to do with my own development farm on a PC, it is possible if the farm is hosted in Azure?
    Thanks
    Dylan

    Hi  Dylan,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to use Microsoft Online Directory Services as a user authentication provider for your SharePoint farm.
For your demand, you can configure a hybrid topology for your SharePoint farm:

  • Exchange Server 2013 SP1 CU5 - The Microsoft Exchange Replication service VSS Writer encountered an exception

We have 2 server DAG with a witness all servers are Server 2012 R2.  Both members of the DAG are Exchange 2013 SP1 CU5.

    Hi Julez K,
According to your description, you could try upgrading to CU6.
In addition, you could review the Exchange Application (App) Event log and the Exchange System (Sys) Event log for errors , and some related resolutions for your reference.

  • Since trying to install the latest version of ITunes I have not been able to get it to launch at all! I get a message that says " C:Programme files\common files\Apple\Apple Push service.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error. "

Please help! After I click ok on the error message above I get another message box that says "ITunes not installed Error 7 (Windows error 193)
I have uninstalled it and re-installed it, I have rsn the repair ITunes, I have re doqnloaded Quicktime- nothing will work
    Thanks

I also had this issue when one day itunes stopped working for me on windows 8...
the error message I received first was: C:Programme files\common files\Apple\Apple Push service.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error.
followed by: ITunes not installed Error 7 (Windows error 193)
Your response addressed how to fix this issue with earlier windows operating systems, but not for windows 8, so what ended up working for me was your advice applied a little differently. For anyone running windows 8 needing to know how to resolve this issue by repairing the Apple Application Support program, try following these simple steps - what a relief it was to have itunes working again after applying b noir's answer to the windows 8 operating system!
    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Control Panel.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Control Panel.)
    2. Click the Programs and Features icon.
    3. In the list of programs and features, find the Apple Application Support feature and click to select it.
    4.  In the gray title bar above it, click Repair.
    5. Approve the window prompts that follow until the repair has been completed.
    6. Relaunch iTunes.
Hope this helps & good luck!
