Microsoft enterprice library logging in ssis
Hi All,
Could anybody help me and let me know if we can make use of microsoft enterprice library logging feature in SSIS.
I have to create a POC and submitt it to client if it is worth and possible.
I know we can handle ssis logging in no. of ways but their main concern is to use enterprice library.
I am totally new and know nothing about it.
Please help me with any link or solution or step by step guide from where i can test and learn about this.
I would really appreciate your help.
Abhishek
Hi
Abhishek,
What are the reasons you want to use different logging framework ? The SSIS logging framework is very extensive and well documented.

Either move some documents/movies/pictures to an external drive (if you want to keep them), or delete them from your startup drive. Then, empty the Trash.
If you move them to an external, you will still have to delete them from the internal drive.
That won't fix Office (I don't think), but it will make everything run better. You need a minimum of 10GB free (more would be better).
You might need to reinstall Office. It should work without problem (well, at least as little problem as Office can muster). -

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs not updating
Hi,
Anybody exprienced the scenario where logfiles in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs don't update anymore?
F.e. wsyncmgr.log is of beginning of April, no recent logs there except for 7 items: smsprov.smspxe, smsdpusage (date from Today).
Pls advise.
J.
Jan HoedtOpen ConfigMgr Service Manager and check the logging options (is logging for each component enabled at all? Is it really logging to the directory you examined?) You can also open the logs using notepad. cmtrace.exe sometimes does not display the entire
content if there are malformated lines.
Having installed ConfigMgr on the C:\ drive is not the best setup BTW.

I get the error U44M1P7 Error log file location: /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers
Does anyone have an idea what I need to do? ThanksDid you ever find a solution? I am in sort of the same boat. I even had an Adobe rep try to help me. For some reason my Adobe App Manager does not work on my Macbook. It orginally did but one day it just would not launch. After numerous attempts of uninstalling and re-installing without success, the only workaround solution was to create another user on my Macbook and install the Application Manager on that user's account. I can then download the apps / programs and updates from there. When I log out of that user and back into my main account the Adobe programs work....well most of them. I have noticed that certain programs, like Muse will launch and work correctly under my second user account but it will not luanch without error on the main account.
The fact that no one at Adobe seems to be able to provide a solution is frustraing. Everything worked fine one day, then its all messed up. Switching users is not an ideal solution at all. -
Application Insights Trace Listener w/ Enterprise Library Logging
Is it possible to use Application Insights with Enterprise Library Logging?
I have not had much success in setting up the ApplicationInsightsTraceListener in place of the Azure DiagnosticMonitorTraceListener that I was using previously, but it isn't immediately clear as to why.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off track!lukegriffin,
I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with getting the TraceListener setup in an Azure scenario. If you provide some more details perhaps I can help you out.
We don't currently have an adapter to support Enterprise Library Logging. If you would like this could I ask you to log and vote for it at
http://aka.ms/aiuservoice
and we will track the priority.

Data Access Library for Oracle like Microsoft Ent Library
Hi there
Is there a plan to create a data access library over the odp.net providers
like the Microsoft Enterprise Library.
For people who have been using Microsoft Enterprise Library for sometime.
The coding examples pasted here on the Oracle website looks newbie and lengthy.
Accessing the provider via a library would
- reduces the amount of code that developers must write
- reduces the need to write boilerplate code to perform standard tasks
- reduces difficulties in changing the database type
As the Microsoft Enterprise Library Team is not keen in implementing odp.net into
the data access code.
Is there anything you guys can do.
It would lot better to have the same library to access Sql Server and Oracle database that way
Thanks
Martin AYou will have to roll your own for ODP.NET
Looking through the source for the Microsoft Enterprlise Library, you use the System.Data.OracleClient as an example.
It can be found here: [EntLibSrc Location]\App Blocks\Src\Data\Oracle\
You can also look at the Enterprise Library Contrib (http://www.codeplex.com/entlibcontrib) which provides community contributions to MEL - there is an open issue for ODP.NET, found here:

Setting Outlook's Default mailbox programaticaly C# Microsoft Outlook Library 14.0
I want to set the user selected domain(from list of domains configured in Outlook) from my application
as Outlook's Default mailbox programaticaly. Is there any function in outlook library 14.0 to set default mailbox from all configured outlook accounts ?
I am using C# and Microsoft Outlook Library 14.0 for Outlook 2010 for my application.Hello Sridhar,
The Outlook object model doesn't provide anything for setting the default account in Outlook. These settings are stored in the windows registry. The How
do I get Outlook to actually default new emails to a specific account and not ignore the default setting? forum thread states the following:
Out of the box, Outlook 2010 SP1 and Outlook 2013 use the default account for Send to commands but not for new messages created while viewing a pst file (when a POP account is assigned to the pst file), unless you set a registry value to always force the use
of the default account.
To force all new messages to use the default email account, regardless of which pst file you are viewing, browse to the following registry subkey in Outlook 2010 and add a DWORD named NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
Value: 1
In Outlook 2013, the key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Outlook\Options\Mail
DWORD value: NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount
Value: 1
Registry key to force account selection every time
This fix is simple, but can get annoying, fast, since it forces the user to select an account every time they send a new message. (Replies and Forwards always use the account the message arrived on.)
This might be good for people who use multiple accounts and frequently (accidentally) send using the wrong account, especially if they are sending sensitive documents, as it will almost eliminate accidentally sending email from the wrong account.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\outlook\options
Value Name: ForceAccountSelection
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
In Outlook 2013, the registry key is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\15.0\outlook\options
Value Name: ForceAccountSelection
Value type: REG_DWORD: 1 for force, 0 to disable.
Also see Outlook 2010 does not honor the default sending account .
You may also find the
SendUsingAccount property of the MailItem class which allows to set an Account object
that represents the account under which the MailItem is
to be sent. For example:
Sub SendUsingAccount()
Dim oAccount As Outlook.account
For Each oAccount In Application.Session.Accounts
If oAccount.AccountType = olPop3 Then
Dim oMail As Outlook.MailItem
Set oMail = Application.CreateItem(olMailItem)
oMail.Subject = "Sent using POP3 Account"
oMail.Recipients.Add ("[email protected]")
oMail.Recipients.ResolveAll
oMail.SendUsingAccount = oAccount
oMail.Send
End If
Next
End Sub -
No ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter folder
Running 10.8.4 on a 2013 13" Macbook Pro.
Working with Synium Software on a MacFamilyTree crash problem and I find I don't have a '~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter' folder on this computer. Does this get turned on somewhere?
The only CrashReprter folder I see is under ApplicationSupport but it doesn't seem to have the reports we need.
Thank-youWithin the first few lines of a crashlog file, one can usually find the "Path", which indicates exactly what program on your machine is crashing. I've heard of something called veohd here http://www.veoh.com/index.php, but only you can know what the "Veohd" on your machine is and how it got there.

Logging in SSIS- sysSSISLog table
Hi All,
I have gone through a topic regarding logging in SSIS. After creating the package, we have to enable logging by clicking on the option on SSIS menu then logging. We are providing a connection to the server and db but nowhere mentioning about sysSSISLog table.
So, it says that the log information will be in this table. But, I could not find any table in my referred database.
Than I could find another solution to create this table manually. It worked fine for me. The data is logging in the table.
http://devhelpcouk.fatcow.com/welcome-to-devhelp/bids/sql-server/tables/dbo-sysssislog-ssis-logger-automatically-look-for-table-with-this-name/
I am not understanding how logging is happening here. I have checked in my friend's system. He is getting that table automatically. Did I miss something to install? Can an y of you please suggest?
Regards,
JulieHi Julie,
Based on my test, the sysssislog table is first created after executing the package with 'SSIS log provider for SQL Server' Provider type logging enabled. And just Arthur said, it located at system tables folder under that server database.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong
