MICROSOFT ERROR MESSAGE

Dear All
I gather this question has been asked before, but any replies to that question don't answer the difficulties I have at present !!
I recently bought an ipod and, to be honest, I wish I had spent the £200 on something more worthwhile ....
As instructed, I downloaded the latest version of Itunes from Apple .... that's when the problems began ....!!
Each time I attempt to open Itunes, it fails to do so and I'm met with the standard Microsoft error message asking if I wish to report the matter to Microsoft ....
From reading other questions on this forum, I gather the problem rests with Quicktime which, somehow, has become 'corrupt' during the installation process (although how this can be given the whole installation process is automated is beyond me !!).
Apple suggests the uninstallation of itunes and Quicktime .... easier said than done ....!
I have been able to remove itunes, however, I am met with the following error message when I attempt to remove Quicktime using 'Add/Remove Programs' -
'The following file does not exist, or is not a valid uninstallation log.
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Quicktime\Uninstall.log'
I've attempted to uninstall it via C:\Program Files only to be met with the same message ....
Neither System Restore or Windows Cleanup Facility (again suggested by Apple !) remove it .... in fact, nothing appears to be able to remove it !!
I attempted to download the 'stand alone' version of Quicktime without itunes (again from Apple !) in the hope that it would overwrite the 'corrupt' version, only to be told when I tried to install it that a more up to date version of it was already installed and running in my PC .... kinda frustrationg given I got both versions from Apple !!!!
I am now faced with the situation where I have an Ipod I cannot use and a new PC which has a corrupt program running in it which I also cannot remove !!!!
As I say, I wish I spent the money elsewhere !!
Can anyone help with this one PLEASE !!!!!!

seems this is a common problem, has anyone found a way to have windows allow itunes to install when you run into this problem. i am now going on almost a year and 3 ipods later trying to solve the problem of downloading itunes!

  • Can't get itunes to install. Microsoft error message, an error has occured.

I have purchased an ipod - great. I tried to download the software provided. At the very end of the download a Microsoft error message appears stating an error has occured and needs to close. Send error report yes/no.
Okay - I tried the uninstall - "repair: through MY COMPUTER, still no luck. Same error message comes up.I then completely unistalled itunes from my computer.
I then went to Microsoft to update my computer. My computer was up to date. I have a Dell computer with Windows XP Home edition with service pack 2. I then went to Dell and checked with them. Computer is up to date.
I then called Apple who walked me through the steps to download Quick Time and itunes from the internet. Quick Time downloaded, but iTunes did not.
We then did the "msconfig" and tried again. Same thing, an error message occured. Apply said it was a Microsoft problem.
I contacted Microsoft, they checked the computer and said there was no problem. To be on the safe side, I reinstalled Microsoft on the computer to ensure I wan not missing any files.
I then went back on line to Microsoft to make sure my computer was up to date. I also ran the Window's Install clean up to ensure all was removed.
I called Apple again. They walked me through the same process and after two hours still the same error message. I service tech then tried to transfer me to a supervisor but instead hung up on me.
HELP! What else do I need to do to get this to work?

EVERYONE PLEASE!!! I do NOT mean to be UGLY but it is incredibly DIFFICULT to help when I have eleventy million people popping in for help in someone else's thread. PLEASE, I Beg of you, POST YOUR VERY OWN THREAD WITH YOUR ISSUES, Windows OS, Service Pack, Antivirus and Firewall Software, any error messages, etc. That way I can help each and every one of you without feeling like I need to pull may hair out. It is against forum rules to threadjack another user's post anyway. Thank you. I will ignore this thread if threadjacking continues and no one will get advice.
    I appreciate it greatly.

  • A30: Daytime software couses a Microsoft Error Message

    Hello Everyone (Anyone!)
Can anyone please help me with the following problem? I'm a pensioner and Microsoft want to charge me for asking them this question.
I have an A30 running with Windows XP.
I also have a Sharp ZQ770 electronic diary with Daytimer. software loaded into the A30.
'Daytimer' have gone out of business.
The Daytime software has been working well and properly on the A30 for over two years (it stores the address etc information downloaded from the Organiser to the laptop and allows printing of labels etc from the laptop)
Suddenly, recently; when asking Daytimer, on the laptop, to print a label; an Error Message appears saying the programme has encountered a problem and needs to close - please tell Microsoft.
My knowledge is small and I am at a loss to know why the programme, having worked for so long, should suddenly not work.
Can anyone give a clue as to any of the possible reasons for this happening and, perhaps, help me to sort it.
    Thanking you in anticipation
    Kestor

    Hi
Believe me after 2 years properly working its high time to reinstall this software.
I can not explain you why such issues occur on the Windows OS but its a simply fact that a new application installation should solve a software problems.
Please reinstall this program in the Add and remove programs and after new booting install this application again.

  • Itunes wont start *with* microsoft error message

WHen i try to start itunes i get and error message that asks to send in error report, and when i click the technical info about the error it says that this file "f462_appcompat.txt" was included in the error.
Any ideas i have tried uninstalling both itunes and quicktime.

actually i get an Microsfot Visual C++ Runtime Library Error
Okay. Let's try swapping out that QuickTime one more time, taking a few additional explicit precautions this time.
Head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If you have "hide filename extensions for known file types" enabled on the PC, those files will appear as QuickTime and QuickTimeVR.)
    7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

  • ITunes crashes when I access iTunes Store/get Microsoft error message

I run iTunes on XP. I can open/play/synch iTunes just fine.
But over the last two days, as soon as I access the iTunes Store, I get a Windows error message (that iTunes has encountered an error and needs to close, etc.). The event viewer indicates that the faulting module is usually an Application Error ("Faulting application itunes.exe, version 9.1.1.12.faulting module webkit.dll.version 5.31.22.7, fault address 0x000f24de") followed a few seconds later by a problem with the Bonjour Service.
The odd thing is, I can log into iTunes Store to check the details of my account such as credit card billing address.
I reinstalled the latest iTunes but that's not fixing the problem.
    Help!

    Hi jfahlenkamp,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • PE Slideshow output closes at 42% with error message

I created a slideshow in the Organizer this summer from my PE 7.0 and it worked great. Now, I'm trying to do a new slideshow and when I output the file whether to a disc or as a file, it stops at 42% with a Microsoft Error message that the program has to close. I've been searching answers on internet but haven't found anything specific. Anywone have any ideas for me?

Note: my most important comment and question is near the end and has 3 asterisks in front of it.
I did have some formatting problems when adding my new comments so the  color designating your responses is lost and the formatting may be weird, but I don't think that will prevent our discussion from continuing.
-- how many photos (approximate number is OK)
    72
-- resolution of the photos (for example are they from a 5 megapixel camera or a 12 megapixel camers)
    10 mg pixel camera
-- what file format - like jpeg or psd or tiff or a camera RAW,
    camera RAW probably
..... did your previous successful slideshow also use raw format files? I have never done that and I don't know how many other people do. What camera took these photos and what is the file type of the file?
-- did you add any type of video file to this slideshow and if yes, what type of video,
    None
-- how much available free space on your system drive (probably your C drive)and if you set Windows parameters to re-direct Temporary files to another drive also post free space on that drive.
123 GB on hard drive and 588 GB on external hard dirve. I have the scratch disk to operate from both of these in the prefs menu in PE
.... in my question I had actually meant Windows temporary files rather than PSE scratch disks, but with your numbers for available space you should be OK
    -- which Windows Operating System,
    Windows XP
-- did you add a music file and if yes what type and what was its source,
Yes, on music, 2 songs. Orignally from I-tunes but ripped into Windows Media Player to mp3 format.
Is the postition where it stops anywhere near where one song stops and the other begins?
It seems to work great until it gets to about picture 50 and it stops...must be the 42% mark.
..... the fact that you have isolated the specific picture at which it stops is good.
That 42% number might be meaningfull or not as many percentage complete numbers are really estimates rather than precise numbers.
***.... did you actually get a partial output file and is that how you identified which photo?
Perhaps it is the photo after what you see that causes a problem or the timing of the music if that changes near this point

  • I just downloaded Itunes 11.1.4 (64-bit) and am running Windows 7, Itunes will not open and I get an error message about Microsoft runtime and I get an error R6034 and 1114 which says Itunes was installed incorrectly. Can anyone help?

I just downloaded Itunes 11.1.4 (64-bit) update and am running Windows 7.  Itunes will not run after installing this update and I receive an error message R6034 on Loading Microsoft C Runtime Library incorrectly.  Also Error message 1114 the Itunes Installer was installed incorrectly.  Is there an new update for this problem? Is anyone else having this problem?  Please help.  Thanks.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Can't open Microsoft Office 2011 even after unistalling then reinstalling. Error message comes up before launch. What do I do? Can I fix this? I need to activate Microsoft Office within 15 days!!

I recently got a new MacBook Pro Running on OSX Mavericks and used Time Machine to move my documents and applications. However Microsoft Office Student/ Home applications did not work and requested a product key. I did not have the product key for it as I had installed Microsoft a long time ago, so I purchased a new Mincrosoft Office 2011 Student/Home Pin to install Microsoft Office. Everything installed fine, however when I go to open it it failed to open.
I need to activate my Microsoft Office within 15 days apparently and this is done when the application is launched. However none of the Microsoft Office applications do Launch (not Word, Powerpoint, Excel or Outlook).
Whenever I tried to open one of the named above the Microsoft Error Reporting App would pop up and list the errors. I was advised on other support pages to disenable this app so I have done that but now Word is now giving its own error message saying:
    Process:
    Microsoft Word [1380]
    Path:
    /Applications/Microsoft Office 2011/Microsoft Word.app/Contents/MacOS/Microsoft Word
    Identifier:
    com.microsoft.Word
    Version:
    14.3.9 (14.3.9)

    Code Type:
    X86 (Native)
    Parent Process:  launchd [152]

    Microsoft Word [1380]
I don't know or understand what is stopping me from launching my Misrosoft Office. I am wondering if others have encountered similar problems with OSX Mavericks and the Microsoft Office 2011? Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get it to launch?
I need to get hold of my Word and Powerpoint Documents ASAP.

This indicates you had a bad install. You need to completely remove Office and reinstall using your new CD Key. See instructions here. Do not do the simple remove, Use the COMPLETELY REMOVE ALL FILES steps.
    http://www.officeformachelp.com/2012/12/office-for-mac-2011-remove-office/
so I purchased a new Mincrosoft Office 2011 Student/Home Pin to install Microsoft Office.
You don't purchase a PIN. A PIN is generated when you install Office. You need a CD Key. If you bought Office365, you activate online.
I have issues with the Microsoft User Data - are there supposed to be two? and where exactly do they belon. They are in the Documents file at the moment.
Unless you used Outlook or Entourage you can delete both Microsoft User Data folders. When you install Office it will create a new one. Only Outlook & Entourage used this folder for data. W,E,P stores it's data in the User's Library/Application Support/Microsoft folder now.

  • Error messages when trying to install Microsoft Works 4.0 on my Hard Drive

My internal hard drive crashed (died) with all of my applications (programs) on it. I have successfully installed back all of my applications from the original program disks with the exception of Microsoft Works Vers. 4.0c. Works will not install the original software back on my HD even though I have the original Works program floppy disks. I get the following error messages when I try to run the Installer program on the Works program floppies. 1st error message: Microsoft setup was not completed successfully. 2nd error message: Setup was unable to locate a valid setup table file and cannot proceed without one.
When the crash occurred I had my system folder running OS 9.1 on my other Internal HD so I did not have any startup issues, etc. (thankfully)
I have a gut feeling that because I still have some Works files in my system folder they may be causing the setup program from running properly.
I am hoping someone knows a work around to help me get Works installed back on my HD.

And that message is exactly? I hope you are aware that you are trying to install software from the stoneage and it may simply no longer be compatible...

    Hi,
As mentioned in ths article below, run for Office 365 products on to a Remote Desktop Session Host server is not supported. You can install Office products for Office 365 to a virtual desktop, but the virtual desktop must be assigned to a single user.

  • I keep getting error messages trying to download Microsoft Office 2013 ProPlus HUP

I am getting so frustrated. I have been trying to download this software for over a month. I'm not sure what else to do. I got a download link after I purchased the software through the HUP program. When I click it I get an error message that says "We're
sorry.  We had a problem installing your Office program(s).  Is your internet connection working?  Do you have enough space on your main hard drive?  Please try installing again after you have checked the above".
My internet connection is fine.  I have tons of space on my hard drive.  I have removed all trial versions of Office that came with the computer.  I went into 'regedit' and deleted the office registry.
I even purchased the backup disc and tried that and get an error saying something like it couldn't 'mount' or something like that.  I had a Microsoft tech who remoted into my computer and was trying to download it for me for over an hour and even they
    gave up.
Anyone else having this issue and is there any suggestion on how to fix?
FYI, I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop and have Windows 8.1 (recently upgraded from Windows 8).  Would appreciate any help!

    Hi,
    Try the following steps:
    1. Check windows updates.
    2. Try the Microsoft Fix it in this kb to remove previous install completely:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us
    3. Reboot.
    4. Try installing again.
This seems helpful on the issue.
As always, thank you for your suggestion, Don:)
