- Is there a different aproach when add a microsoft account on iOS (iphone/ipad) and on OS X Lion (macbookair)?
- Does apple have a step by step guide to add a microsoft account on Lion?
Thank You,

Hi Benjamin,
Apologies for Jeff's rather useless answer.
You can absolutely install Microsoft Exchange on a Mac Pro server to accompany OS X Server.
Head over to VMware, Parallels or Oracle and grab a virtualisation hypervisor. I personally recommend VMware ESXi.
Setup a Virtual Machine running a copy of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft Exchange Server 2013. (More information here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/products/windows-server-2012-r2/buy.aspx#fbid=f4pyYTvvgji and here http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/microsoft-exchange-server-2013-business-email-email-server-try-now-FX103765014.aspx)
If you would rather not involve yourself with all the fuss involved with maintaining Microsoft Exchange, head over to Microsoft Office's website and Subscribe to Office 365 for Business. If you would rather not work with Microsoft at all, head over to Google
and setup Google Apps.
Thanks,
Will

Why is this so? I don't have this problem prior to installing the Mountain Lion OS X

Have you tried 10.8.1?  It includes fixes in this area.  Usually the problem is if Active Directory is returning incorrect Exchange information in response to an Autodiscover request.  In 10.8.1 you can manually edit this information.

  • Microsoft Exchange Server on Mac OS X Server

I am running Mac OS X Leopard Server on my Mac Pro with multiple clients, all using Mac OS X Leopard. Each client also has Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac installed with Entourage. Is it possible to install Microsoft Exchange Server on the Mac Pro and use it to set up calendaring for all of my Mac clients through Entourage?

  • I can't connect apple mail with a microsoft exchange account

Since 3 days ago my microsoft exchange account can't be connected from my apple mail

    Hey there ovillamil,
If you are having issues connecting with your Microsoft Exchange account, take a look at the resources below for troubleshooting steps:
OS X Mail: Using Microsoft Exchange (EWS) accounts - Apple Support
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201951
iCloud: Microsoft Exchange behavior with iCloud - Apple Support

Microsoft Exchange may require additional configuration in order to allow communication with certain devices. Consult with your IT manager or Administrator of your Exchange server for further questions about your Exchange setup.

  • Auto Signature - Microsoft Exchange Account

    Dear Experts,
I use a Microsoft Exchange Account on Q10 - The issue is that I have to separately set auto signatures in my device. I would like to use the same auto signatures as configured in the Exchange Account, so that I don't have to separately set up in the device.  Is this possible?
    Regards, Ajay.

Copy and paste them from one of your emails into the Signature settings for the account. There's no way to automatically link them, to the Exchange account signature.

  • Cannot use Microsoft Exchange account to connect to Google Apps hosted accounts.

I am the Desktop and Device support Coordinator for my Department.  We use Google Apps to host our email, calendar, docs, etc.  On iOS and Android devices to connect we use an exchange account.
    Email: [email protected]
    Server: m.google.com
    Domain: domain.com
    Username: username
And it works just fine.  However when we give the touchpad the same info, we get an error, bad username or password.  This is using passwords greater than 12 characters, with spaces and special characters.
    Username: username
    Email: [email protected]
    Server: https://m.google.com
    Domain: domain.com
Any though on what we are doing wrong, or does webos exchange accounts not suppor this?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

First, changing the password and trying it again with the "Google" account type doesn't work.  And it shouldn't, on every other device (Android, iOS) if we try it with the standard "Google" account it does not work.
Now on every other device we use the "Microsoft Exchange" account type and it does work. Because Google provides a Microsoft Exchange account to act as a connector to their services.
Remember, this is not a standard google account, this is an App account, and as such cannot use the standard google login.  If I tried to login to any of our app service (mail.google.com, calendar.google.com, docs.google.com) from it's google site it fails.  The only way we can access the account is through a special login page that ties into our single sign on (mail.example.com, cal.example.com, docs.example.com), or use the Exchange Connector.
Now if the Microsoft Exchange account connection does not work in webOs to connect to Google, great.  We return our tablets, and discourage pre's. But I really like webOS and would really like to use the touch pad and keep my pre.

  • Can you add a second exchange account to mac mail

Can you add a second exchange account to Mac Mail?

You should be able to, enter it in Internet accounts.

  • Adding Microsoft Exchange account to Iphone

I ahve been trying to setup a Microsoft Exchange account on mu Iphone so i can receive work emails, when i put the server details in i get the " failed" error message. I have taken the server details from my desktop outlook. Any ideas?

Has your IT department done what they HAVE to do to allow it to work. They have to have things setup on the mail server to allow such access.

  • Hello, can't get my mac to upgrade to latest versions of quicktime, itunes or any other os

Hello, can't get my mac to upgrade to latest versions of quicktime, itunes or any other os

The latest OS that you can run is 10.5.8. That is as far as Power Mac machines can go.
The latest Quicktime, iTunes, etc., must be both OS X 10.5.8 AND Power Mac (PPC) compatible.
This is the last OS update for your machine:

iTunes 10.6.3 requires OS X 10.5.8 and is the last update for iTunes on a PPC machine:

  • Microsoft Exchange Account On an iPhone 5

I feel pretty stupid about this. I have an Iphone 5 with the newest software. I have a school email account that is Microsoft Exchange. I use my MacBookPro at school to check the Exchange account just fine using wireless that is provided here at school; not a physical ethernet connection.
I cannot get my Iphone to connect to the Exchange email. I have looked at the settings in my laptop Mail account and it all seems like pretty conventional settings, but it just won't connect. It says it cannot find the server, which is "mail.polo222.org".
I don't have much recourse to any IT help, as our IT man is rabidly anti-mac and is a physics teacher turned IT guy and I don't think is always up to speed on the latest networking (even though he is far more along than I am).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Brian
For what it is worth, I have a comcast account and an AOL account that work just fine on the Iphone. I don't really undestand the differences in IMAP and POP terms, but I believe Exchange is something different from either one of them. I didn't make those choices when trying to set up the account; I just chose "Exchange" when first given the choice.

I don't know if ActiveSync is enabled or not. I'm not great with this stuff and our IT guy is unhelpful. I think I am the only one in the building who even check school email from home, so I don't know if anyone else has a phone or tablet that will check email. Does the fact that my laptop will check it fine on any wireless connection help?
Just a thought for Apple. This seems like something that when I connected my Iphone to my laptop, it would have made all of those settings by copying from my Mail. Of course, that may seem easy and in fact be staggeringly difficult.
My apologies for not having an informed answer to your question.

  • Can't verify my microsoft exchange account

    Hi there,
I have used microsoft exchange email for university which worked with my iphone 4 no problem.
My work have created a microsoft exchange email for me and I have followed the steps on instructions however it repeatedly tells me "cannot verify account".
I don't know what this means or what to do about it. I am following the instructions verbatim.
    Any help gratefully appreciated.
    Rich

I am setting up a new mail exchange on my Iphone5s and it will can't validate. I have verified with all in my office that I have entered the  correct informaiton. Yet it still does not verify the account. I have done everything you listed and verified my creditals are correct. Is there anything else that can be done?

  • Restricting managed accounts on Mac OS X Lion

Hello, I need to enforce many restrictions (for instance, managed user can't change wallpaper nor screensaver)
on 10 Mac Os X Lion machines, similarly to what you can do using "gpedit" locally on Windows (when your
PC's are not joined to a domain).
Do I have to get a Mac Os X Lion Server and set up directory services and authentication to do this?
    Thanks, bye App200

you may also try just creating an account with parental controls on all of your systems. But using the server would make it easier to maintain. In that case you would have to setup the directory services and a managed group for the users with the restrictions.

  • How can you configure an Exchange Account in Mac OS X to use a SSL client certificate?

I'm trying to connect the Mail App of Mac OS X to my company's Exchange server. For security reasons you have provide a SSL client certificate to the server. You can convince Safari to use a client certificate by putting it into your keychain and configuring a suitable "identity preference" for the URL of the related site. But the Mail App seems not to use the keychain for this part of the SSL negotiations.
Since you can configure the client certificate usage for an Exchange Account for the iPhone with the Configuration Utility there should be a way for the desktop App, too. Has someone sorted this issue out already or does the Mail App actually lack of client certificate support?

I had a nice chat with the Apple end user support which revealed that this feature falls in the responsibility of the business support group. Since I have no appropriate support contract I could ask for help for about 480€ per issue -- nice try
After more research I found the Configuration Profile Reference, where you get information about Exchange accounts too. Starting with a working iOS-Profile I changed the Exchange account part according to this documentation for OS X. All you have to do is to replace PayloadType com.apple.eas.account by com.apple.ews.account.
After importing this profile I found the expected Exchange account within the Contacts.app. But the SSL client certificate was still not used and therefore my account not usable.
You could enable Mail, Calendar & Reminders and Notes within the System Preferences, but neither of these would work due to the missing client certificate support.
I came to the conclusion that the relevant applications in OS X have no proper SSL Client support build in. Since the underlying libraries and frameworks have everything in place that is really a shame.
Would be nice, if someone would enforce the developers to do their homework there.

  • ¿Can i run the Microsoft Project Server in Mac OS X Lion Server?

When i use the Mac OS X Lion Server, or even, the Mac OS X Leopard Server, can i run another program like Microsoft Project Server, because i need the features that this gives me.
    Thanks you for your solutions
    (is it possible on Xserver?)

Unfortunately, no one will be be able to answer your question re. a not-yet-released OS; they either do not know or are prevented from sharing their knowledge because of an NDA.

  • TS3276 can you have multiple exchange accounts in mail in mountain lion

can you have multiple exchange accounts in mail in mountain lion

Just use IMAP for the accounts. I have 4 Exchange accounts in my Mail app and they are all set up that way. but yes, there can only be 1 Exchange account (which I believe has more to do with the Exchange API than Macs)
    hope this helps.
