Microsoft Firewall Client blocks the SBO client

Dear All,
We have upgraded our client from 2004C to 2007A SP 46.
The upgrade was successful, but there were some problem with the clients.
The client didn't start, the solution for this we have to disable the Microsoft Firewall Client.
Now it is a good solution, but not for a long time.
So could you tell me, how can we setup the Microsoft Firewall Client, is we want the use SAP clients?
There weren't any problem, with 2004C clients, what happened? What we have to setup on this kind of firewall?

Hi Veronica,
Basically the the type of connection how SAP Business One connects to the license server has been changed when comparing both Business One versions. Version 2004 uses DCOM in order to connect to license service, but from 2005 version there is a port available and DCOM is not longer used.
Your local Windows Administrator should be able to open ports 30000 and 30001 within Windows Firewall.

Cisco VPN client & Microsoft ISA firewall client.

could someone give me advice how to set

Be sure that the Department or organizational unit (OU) corresponds to the Cisco VPN Client group name, as configured in the PIX vpngroup name. Select the correct Certificate Service Provider (CSP) appropriate for your setup

IE crashing with Flash player and MS Firewall Client

I have seen this on versions 6, 7, and 8 of Internet Explorer. I work in a firm where all are computers are behind proxy servers running Microsoft ISA. All our PCs have the MS Firewall Client installed. When visiting certain flash intensive sites, mostly online news sites, like nytimes.com, IE will always crash while browsing the page or after refreshing the page. Sometimes an error is generated and other times IE just closes without any notification of an error taking place.
An example of the error sometimes generated will sometimes be a generic "iexplore.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x556038ae" referenced memory at "0x0000000f". The memory could not be read...." or "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library. Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe. R6025 - pure virtual function call."
Often times the crash of IE will be captured by XPs Dr Watson creating a .log file which can be examined with any text editor; a .dmp file will also be generated which can then be opened with the Windows Debuggin Tools. I have looked at a few of these files and in every instance there is a FAULT when wspwsp.dll is called.
Wspwsp.dll is used by an older version of Microsofts Firewall Client for ISA. The IE/Adobe Flash crash can be resolved by upgrading to lastest version of the FWC for ISA (version 4.0 currently). Alternately, this issue can also be worked around by disabling the FWC while browsing the Internet from the FWC icon in the system tray (right click>disable or from the Control Panel>Firewall Client>Uncheck Enable option). To do this on the fly, you can place the ISATRAY.exe in the All Users startup folder if the FWC icon fails to stick in the system tray box.

Ironically enough, I can reproduce the above mentioned R6025 error this morning by just going to Adobe's home page and waiting for the intro Adobe Acrobat 9 video to near the end. Clicking OK to the error will close IE. A minidump is not produced either by DrWatson or by using CrashLogEnable=1 in mms.cfg in this case.

Firewall blocks the wifi connection of my Canon MP620? Why?

I've had my Canon PIXMA MP620 set up wirelessly to my MacBook Pro for months now, and just today it turned out that it stopped working. After lengthy search for the cause of the problem, I discovered that my MacBook's internal firewall started blocking the connection to the printer. If I change it to 'allow all incoming connections', it works, but obviously I don't want to keep it that way. The other option is to 'set access for specific services and applications' and add the required utilities to be able to print, but that means that now every time another application needs an access, I have to click on the pop up window to allow it, which is very annoying.
I've tried everything to fix this problem and let firewall to be set to 'allow only essential services' and still let my printer work as before, but nothing works. I updated printer's drivers and software, changed firewall settings a million times, reinstalled the printer again and again. The threads from other forums don't solve anything and it seems that a lot of people don't understand the problem.
Recently, I downloaded the EFI Firmware and SuperDrive updates (which, by the way, don't work correctly). I wonder, if this whole firewall/printer problem has something to do with it. It's just so irritating when everything works very smoothly and suddenly it stops, because of some stupid updates that destroy your settings and preferences.

First of all, I don't believe the updates would have been a cause. I have a 10.5.8 setup that is isolated from Software Update, hence the Firmware update hasn't been executed, and it exhibits the same issue.
When you think about it, the operation of the firewall makes sense. It would be difficult for Apple to foresee that a third-party application like the Canon IJ Network Utility (aka BJPrinterApp2) is an essential service. There is certainly no provision for a user to set what they deem to be essential, hence the additional function of selecting specific apps.
For the record, HT1810 states the following;
Allow only essential services:
This is the most conservative mode. Mac OS X will block all connections except a limited list of services essential to the operation of your computer.
The system services that are still allowed to receive incoming connections are:
* configd, which implements DHCP and other network configuration services
* mDNSResponder, which implements Bonjour
* racoon, which implements IPSec
If the MP620 used Bonjour instead of its proprietary protocol, then you may have a solution. Connecting a printer to the USB port of an Airport device still functions with the essential services setting selected.
However, the printer doesn't use Bonjour so IMO I think you have a decision to make. Turn off the firewall or live with accepting the prompts for adding these services to the list.
Like I said, this is just my opinion. Maybe someone else can provide you with a usable solution?

I have access to sharepoint site and I have tested this by manually creating the lists and announcements in the sharepoint site.
now the same thing when I try to do it through the c#.net code it always gives me the following :

I have a t540 with all hardawre and software updates running Win 7/64 pro and get this message repeatedly. Microsoft says to delete MSSEOOBE.etl but that file doesn't appear to be in the 64 bit version of Microsoft Security Essentials
If it happen when the PC is in SLEEP mode it causes an abnormal shutdown/recovery when the PC restarts Did uninstall and reinstall MSE
One MS thread says to contact the OEM - so here I am.
I was also getting Code 10 Disk Errors but there was a MS KB fix for that

If you do not want to reinstall Microsoft Security Essentials to stop this problem, there is a step which you MUST, I repeat, MUST follow. As indicated above by Zuhl3156, YOU MUST, again, MUST shutdown the security counter. This is a problem
when you uninstall MSE, it does not remove the security counter. This is the reason that everyone says to delete the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Client\Support\EppOobe.etl file. This file is used and created by this counter.
If you have uninstalled the MES, then you MUST delete the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Client\Support\EppOobe.etl. But, MOST IMPORTANTLY, you MUST go into into Computer Management and drill down into:
System Tools -> Performance -> Data Collector Sets -> Startup Event Tracing Sessions
Then, in the frame to the right on that window, select Microsoft Security Client OOBE, right click on it and select Properties. Then DISABLE it (uncheck the Enabled box). Then, when you select OK, if you have uninstalled MSE and NOT reinstalled
it, the entry in the right frame will 'magically' disappear.
This is a problem with the uninstall of MSE and needs to be resolved by Microsoft (hopefully they are reading this). It has taken me DAYS to discover this, and many different attempts to resolve this. But, apparently, this has now resolved my
problem. I have seen performance counters cause many problems in my experience with Windows, and am very confident that this resolves the issue.
I cannot thank Zuhl3156 enough for his suggestion and my willingness to try it (I noticed 'performance counter' and jumped on it). It seems to work wonderfully for the moment.
I hope this helps someone else who has spent days trying to chase this nightmare down.

Client wants to block the order if customer's credit Limits exceeds. But Sales order no. is to be generated.Later on that blocked order is to be released by Authority.
I did all the configurations. Order is blocked if the customer credits exceeds, but order no is not get generated. Without order no, Authority can not release.
Kindly guide me where i have gone wrong.

HI,
Please do not put a credit block in the Credit Management settings. Instead check in the CMR and the VOV8 sales order setting. Also if possible maintain an incompletion procedure wherein SO number would created but the document would be blocked for delivery creation.
Usually the SO would be released using v.23 by the proper authority,that should work fine and would not hamper SO creation process.

Oracle12c SQL*NET blocked by Windows 2008 firewall - what is the correct solution?

Is this really the solution?
From what I understand from other documents is that just enabling port 1521 will not resolve any issues, as SQL*NET can use redirection to other random ports. That is probably the reason why the Oracle installation does not alter any firewall settings.
What other methods do people use to connect a client to a DB server?

I wrote a forecasting report for a customer which creates an excel spreadsheet with the information
Depending on how they run the report it can take between 5 to 15 minutes to run
We have just upgraded the customer to SAP 8.8 PL10 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and they seem to be getting an error -
Microsoft sql client deadlocked on lock resources with another process .......
The error seems intermittent, they may get the error once and the next time they run it, it is fine.
I have never seen this error before and they never had it before on SAP 2005
Can anyone suggest anything please?

I was having the same problem. I'm gonna tell you what i did.
My query usually takes from 10 to 15 minutes to show results. That long time also block all transaction in the database.
I was reading about some techniques to improve queries performance. Some of the tips are:
1. Review indexes in the table you are querying
2. Use Views
3. Avoid cursors
4. Archive old data
5. Use the correct transaction isolation level
The last one, was the tip that helped me to avoid the block in the database.
By default the isolation level in SQL Server is Read Commited, that explains why the database block some transactions. For example, if you have a query that take data from JDT1 table and it takes several minutes to show the results, other transactions that try to write in the same table should be blocked if they arrive at the same time of the first query.
To solve this, you can make your query in a transaction with Snapshot isolation level. It means that your select query will take a snapshot of the data without blocking any other transaction.
Here is an example how you can make it. The difference is that you may use ADO.NET connection replacing DI API Connection:

In this example I write the data to show in the report in other table, then the report takes the data from that table.

Replacing MS ISA proxy with IronPort WSA proxy - what about the ISA firewall client?
Does Cisco have an equivalent of the Microsoft ISA Firewall Client?
How does WSA handle complex protocols (such as ftp) through the proxy server?

We are replacing MS ISA proxy servers with IronPort WSA S370 proxy servers.
We have several apps that make use the MS firewall client.
The MS firewall client enables HTTP-tunneling of TCP & UDP through the ISA proxy servers instead of going through firewalls.
These apps use various ports - and there are rules setup on the ISAs specifially for these apps and their ports.
Also we have serveral uses of RPD, telnet, and SSH using the firewall client to HTTP-tunnel through the proxy servers -- and these have specific ISA rules setup for them too.
I can find HTTP-tunneling software - commercial and freeware - but can't find any that I think will work through the IronPort WSA S370 proxy servers.
Would like to find someone who has implemented HTTP-tunneling using IronPort WSA 370 proxy servers.

Read selected values from a multi choice field programatically using Microsoft.SharePoint.Client namespace.

All examples I found refer to classes under Microsoft.SharePoint namespace. However, I have the SharePoint CSOM that only gives me the Microsoft.Sharepoint.Client namespace.
