Im using Microsoft Messenger Mac - version 8.0.0, I would like to know how to disable the built in webcam so that my friends can't see that I have a cam?? Or even use an external webcam like Logitech instead of the built in one....?
Please help....?

Messenger:mac says "not connected to the internet"
OK, so just today, I downloaded Microsoft messenger:mac from mactopia at Microsoft - Version 7.0.1 (latest one) and signed in to my Messenger account, and the message said the following: "Sign in to Microsoft Messenger failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the internet". I checked today, the service is fine, and I have been connected to the internet for the whole day, Still says the message, I even checked, even still, it did not work.
Any way to fix this?

I tried aMSN, and it says "Connection refused: reconnecting". The reason for aMSN was that i do not have a Microsoft account, and they are so stupid, they say "I understand that i will not be notified about replies." How do i sort out the connection being refused? -
Messenger:mac 7.0.2 fails with SL
I have a Mac connected to a Netgear DG834GT wireless router that sits on a fixed IP address - and that forwards all ports to my Intel iMac 24" 2.8Ghz machine. Since installing Snow Leopard, Microsoft messenger:mac has not been able to connect to the server it uses - so no instant messaging. Everything else but that seems to work.
Anyone know if this is a bug, or know a procedure I should go through to isolate the root cause?
Ian W.I found the issue.
When I was chatting to someone and they decided that they no longer wanted to text chat but speak instead, they would hit the call button and I would recieve a visual indication that they were calling but no audio.
This normally wouldn't be an issue but say for instance that i had another screen and working on another document I wouldn't know they wished to chat.
I reported this to Microsoft and after many days and many emails, they confirmed that this was a bug in the software and would be fixed in a future release. -

i just wanna know how to run a mac version of yahoo messenger. im a new user of mac thats why i dont know how to run ym using mac. i already downloaded mac version of yahoo and i can sign in as my yahoo id, but the problem is i cannot make a call, play a games, share a photo and even my cam cannot be viewed and i also cant view the cam of my chatmate. there are many features of yahoo messenger in windows version that mac version doesnt have. i also cannot connect to a chat room. do i really need to install a parallel desktop for me to run the yahoo messenger smoothly.

mwahhhh.....I just tested Messenger for Mac, which I just downloaded because of your question. I had no problem getting my recently bought Macbook laptop with Leopard to engage and send a webcam picture to a Yahoo messenger account using Windows XP yahoo messenger on the other account's computer. I did not test all the features, just typing an IM and sending a webcam picture from my built in laptop webcam on this Macbook over to a computer with Windows XP. All I had to do after installing and logging in was go to WEBCAM / Start Broadcast etc. It worked fine.
I used the Mac Leopard OS on the Macbook and do not yet have windows added to my macbook but am thinking about how to get it because of the need to occasionally use Internet Explorer on certain websites. -

THIS IS DRIVING ME UP THE WALL PLEASE HELP!!!
I love Apple computers, but I may not be able to get one for my next laptop because of compatibility problems with Microsoft for Mac. Whenever I work on something for school on my Mac using word or PowerPoint, I'll bring it to school on a USB the next day, and the font, layout (and in PowerPoints, the timing) will all have changed. It annoys me so much!!! My Microsoft for Mac is completely updated so why isn't the latest version for Mac compatible with the latest version for PC?? It doesn't make SENSE!

I have tried to make my Microsoft Office for MAC's OUTLOOK program work as the default email system. But ATT/Yahoo says its service is not compatible with the MAC version of Microsoft Outlook... Has anyone been able to make it work? I can't change my ISP right now.

I deleted my microsoft office:mac 2011 word from my toolbar. I have Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I tried to reinstall but it won't work. This has never happened before. I get an error message each time. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have time machine.
By Toolbar, do you mean the Dock? The Translucent bar normally at the bottom of the screen, but sometimes at the right or left side?
If that's what you mean, the Dock is merely a shortcut to what is already inside the Applications folder's Microsoft Office 2011 folder. If you have Word inside your Microsoft Office 2011 folder, you can drag it back to the Dock.
If you deleted the Microsoft Office folder, or it is empty, you'll have to reinstall it.
If you don't have your registration code, you'll have to call Microsoft for a new one. -

If you ordered Acrobat via subscription, then you can use either Windows or Mac version. Just download/install the Mac version, then activate it with your Adobe ID.
If you purchased the perpetual license, then you need to Contact Customer Care bu chat or phone. -
