Microsoft Money...

I'm switching from a PC to a MAC, just waiting for shipment of my new MacBook Pro 13", which seems to be out of stock everywhere, but mine's on order, so'll wait.
Since, I'll be switching, I need a replacement for MS Money. Can anybody recommend a MAC financial traker like MS Money.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, please let me know what the correct forum is.

There's always Quicken, but you can still run Money by installing Windows on your Mac, or maybe even running w/out Windows by use of CrossoverMac from codeweavers.com
There's also iBank. It gets pretty decent reviews:

  • Microsoft money for mac

I am looking for microsoft money software to download to my mac.
Any leads?  I tried amazon and ebay.

I do not use either Money or Quicken, but there is no currently shipping Mac version of Money.
A lot of people swear by Moneydance. I understand that it has the ability to use the same .ofx files that Money does.
Of course you can always use Parallels and run Windows in a virtualized window in order to run Money, but that seems like a lot of work if there is a Mac equivalent program available.
Moneydance has a trial. Download it and see what you think.

  • How can I inport Microsoft Money files in Mac?

Wich tool do I need to be able to use Microsoft Money files in Mac ?

You need a Windows installation, either under Boot Camp or running as a virtual machine under Parallels, etc. There's no MS Money for Mac, just for Windows.
If there's a support community for MS Money, you might ask if there's a way to export your data and use it on an application that runs on a Mac... I don't know as I've never used MS Money...

  • When I try and download my Bank Statement for Microsoft Money using Firefox, Microsoft Money doesn't recognise the file.

    ''locking as a duplicate - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/816841''
My bank, Alliance and Leicester/Santander provides a facility for downloading bank statements in various formats for use with accounting packages. I use Microsoft Money and can download my statements in a file format Microsoft Money recognises. This works fine with Internet Explorer. When I try the same process with Firefox I just get a generic "file" that Microsoft Money does not recognise and will not open.

  • Microsoft Money 2004

I have use Microsoft Money 2004 for many years.  I recently had a computer fail on me so I installed the program on a Windows 7 machine and have been using it there temporarily.  Now I have a laptop Windows 8.1 I want to use it on.  I make
a backup from the Windows 7.  I installed the software on the Windows 8.1.  When I try to restore the backup I get a message saying that Money cannot locate my backup file or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file or I do not have
permission to change it or my disk drive is write protected.
Then it tells me if I have chosen the correct file and it cannot be accessed I will need to click ok and opne my most recent backup file.
Then it says if the file is being used by another application, close it in the other application and click okay to try again.
I have used different flash drives.  I have made different back ups.  But nothings works.  What should I try now?
I got it to work.  No need to answer my questions now.

Dave, I also have same problem with MSMoney & Win10 TPV Builds 10049 & 10061.
Windows TPV Build 10049 running Microsoft Money crashes when sync electronically to  import & balance your downloaded financial statements. This behavior is verifiable & repeatable. Did not occur in Win 10 TPV Builds 9926 & 10041,
XP, Vista, Win7, Win 8 or Win 8.1.  I wonder if this bug was introduced by adding the new Project Spartan browser to Win 10 TPV 10049.
I know MSMoney is a discontinued Microsoft product since June 2009. However, I have over 10 years of financial records in MSMoney. I purchased & tried Quicken 2015. I prefer MSMoney over Quicken 2015.  MSMoney worked fine on previous Microsoft
OSes (XP, Vista, Win7, Win 8 or Win 8.1) until Win 10 TPV Build 10041. See screenshot errors below.
So to work around the MSMoney  issues above. I installed Window 7 in Hyper-V VM just to run MSMoney & manage my finances. What a pain!!!
Quicken 2015 will be the big winner in this bug introduced in Win 10 TPV. I am an ex Microsoft employee. Worked at Microsoft for nearly 10 years. I have to agree with Paul Adar statement earlier in this conversation thread. "I too am fairly
certain that Microsoft is not overly concerned about supporting programs that are 11 years old on Windows 10. :-)"
I spent over 8 hours today exporting my 10 Plus years of Microsoft Money financial data in Quicken 2015. Sadly, the Sun is about to truly about to set on MSMoney.
My Opinion is that MSMoney is still the best Personal Finance Management Software ever released for the Windows desktop PC.
I am being forced to use Quicken. Much rather stick with good Ol' MSMoney. Running Windows 7 in a Hyper-V VM just to balance my checkbook is overkill. Like swatting a fly with a sledge hammer.

  • How can I install Microsoft Money 2001 on to my Macbook Air?

I have just got my MacBook Air and am very happy with it, but I'm currently trying to install Microsoft Money 2001 on here, and I have no clue how to do it... It is a CD which I have installed on my old computer, however, I insert the CD into the disk slot in the USB disk thing, and it comes up with the disk on my desktop, but I have no idea what to do from there. Please help, thank you.

Wow, I see some red flags:
Microsoft Money - Are you sure this runs on a Mac running an OS X operating system?
2001 - Are you sure you want to run twelve year old software?  Are you sure it can run on a current processor?
There are other products out there that may do what you need at least as well ...
Anyway, putting all that aside, and assuming you know that Microsoft Money 2001 will run on your Mac, here's the answer to your question:
Control-click on that "disk on my desktop".  Then click "Open".  Hopefully you will either see something labelled "Installer", or some arrow showing the Microsoft Money icon leading to an Applications Folder.  If you see the installer, double click it.  If you see the arrow, drag the icon as indicated.  A third possibility is you will see a ".dmg" file.  If so, double click it.
If you see none of the above, that would reconfirm this software is not designed for an Apple product!
Anyway, I would be very reluctant to try to install it because of the red flags.

  • Microsoft money on a mac

I have been using  Microsoft Money for about 18 years.  I switched to a mac about 2 years ago.  After months of trying to find an acceptable alternative to microsoft money I finally installed Microsoft money sunset through VMware fusion on the mac.  It works except that it frequently hangs which is so frustrating I no longer want to use it.  I have thought about trying quicken 2014 premeire and importing the data from money, but am concerned about the ease of doing this, and whether or not this will be an improvement.  Any insight, or suggestions for financial software would be appreciated.

I continue my decades long use of Quicken for Mac with its 2007 Intel version, complete version available for $15 from Intuit:
    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
    Avoid Quicken Essentials for Mac.
I avoid giving Intuit all of my financial institution information, including account numbers, logins and passwords; by easily downloading QIF files from all of my financial institutions through their websites and then importing them into each of their appropriate registers on a monthly basis.
No TARGET-like internet attack on Intuit for me!

  • Similar Program as Microsoft Money for Mac?

    Hello,
I am in the process of changing over from pc to Mac. I am currently using Microsoft Money...is there an equivalant for the Mac? All I really need it to do is download bank activity from my checking account, set budget, and run income/expense reports. Thanks in advance for your help.

Quicken acceptable on the Mac, but the conversion from Microsoft Money is nearly impossible. I simply started over when I made the switch about 2 years ago. Once set up though, the bank access works well.

What is the equivilant app to microsoftmoney on a mac?
    Thanks

Let me see if I've gotten this right! You want to remove an account from BOTH machines? Do this for your new machine first, then for the other.
Click the Apple logo on the top left of the screen, System Preferences, Users and Groups (under Systems), unlock the lock in the window if its locked (you need to know the password), select the user that you wish to remove, and click the - sign next to the + sign for Login options. A window will pop up with some options. Select Delete this user and securely, and click 'Delete user'.
After this, do an update from the App Store.
Thats all there is to it.
For the other machine repeat the process except for one thing. Before you delete the user in this case YOU, you will have to give Administrator priviledges to your son bu checking the box 'Allow user to administer this computer'.
Do NOT do anything from Finder ... if you dont know how to fix the consequences of the problems caused.
There is no need to unauthorize your iTunes account on your new machine. Do it on the old machine though.

  • Microsoft Money Plus No Sounds in Windows 7

Using Microsoft Money Plus which I bought online using a downloaded file.  Works fine except all the sounds are gone, like when you first start money, enter new transactions, finish balancing your account, everything.  They were all there on Vista but now gone.  If you go to the Windows sounds and find the Money section, nothing is assigned where in Vista, Money-specific sound files were listed.
Any help?  New Money program on the way, perhaps?
    Shawn

You should be aware that Microsoft is discontinuing Money - see below:

  • Microsoft money for curve 8330

hello, I was wondering if there was a microsoft money mobile. The reason im asking is I already have money on my laptop and would like the same program on my phone so that i can sync them together.Any suggestions?

Microsoft Money is being less and less supported by Microsoft. It's been a year now since the software can only be bought online. In a few months, the application will not be sold anymore, and it will not be maintained (no bugfix) and not supported (even with a premium).

  • I have just bought an iPad2 - is there an equivqalent App to Microsoft Money that I was using on my PC

I have just purchased an iPad2 and wondered if anyone knows if there is an equivalent App to the Microsoft Money disc I was  using on my PC.

I have yet to find a Financial application for either the Mac or iPad that is anywhere as good as MS Money.  I've been looking for years and have tried several but none come close.
Some users seem to like MoneyWiz and give it a five star rating.  I wasn't overly impressed.
I'm still running MS Money on a Windows emulator on my iMac.
