Microsoft Office Error on Jabber deployment via SMS Package

Our customer is trying to rollout Cisco Jabber using Microsfot SMS Package. The first test of the package installation to a small test group each of the employees received the error in attached picture after launching and logging into Jabber.  It was assumed this was caused by Outlook being opened while the package was installing but we’ve tested the package on other workstations without Outlook being open and experience the same issue.

Further to this
We ran the Cisco Jabber MSI manually on one of our XP machines with all Office products shut down and the error still occurs.  If you shut down and log into Jabber a second time the error goes away.
The customer would like the install to work without this error if possible

  • Unable to activate after Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455) is deployed

I'm having a very strange issue with deploying the "Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455)". Here's what I see:
Deploying to a Windows 7 SP1 system fully patched as of 7/29/2013
    Using SCCM 2007 R3
Task Sequence installs Office Professional Plus 2010
Task Sequence installs Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455)
The Office Professional Plus 2010 install was configured to use our key using the Office Custimization Tool (setup.exe /admin)
When I try to activate the suite using any of the installed applications (word, excel, outlook or powepoint) I get the error "An unspecified error has occurred. Your request cannot be processed at this time. Please try again later. (0x80070190)"
If I repair the install then try the activation again it works right away. This is a good work around for single installs but for my needs of multiple system deployment and for pushing out the Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2687455) to other systems
in my environment this will not work.
Can anyone please suggest a solution to this problem?
    Thank you,

    Hi
According to my research, this issue occurs when one of the following conditions are true:
If you have CD emulation software installed, a registry key is preventing the hardware ID from being acquired.
A required registry key is not set correctly or is missing.
If you want more detailed information, please refer to the following link:

    gestaltSystemVersion err=0, result=0x1050
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks :]

Because it works in another account, the issue may be caused by a preference, or .plist file. Try going to this folder:
    Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/ByHost
(where “yourusername” is the short name of your computer in lowercase letters, like williams - the folder looks like a house/home)
and move any file beginning with com.microsoft to the desktop or a new folder you create on the desktop, and restart or log-out/in. If needed, those files will be recreated by the application.
If that doesn't help, go up one folder level and try removing those .plist files generated by microsoft and restart.
If that helps, you will need to reset your settings in each application. Or you may want to drag each .plist file from your desktop to its respective folder in the Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences or ByHost folder to restore your settings. However, if one of the previous .plist files was causing the problem, you may be reintroducing it again and it would be safer to reset the Office preferences as you go.

  • How do I install Microsoft Office 2013 on my Mac via my Windows 8 Parallels Desktop 8 partition?

I recently bought a copy of Windows 8, Microsoft Office 2013 and Parallels Desktop 8 for Mac.
I wanted to install a Windows partition on my Mac so that I could run MS Office 2013 on a virtual machine.
I set up the VM, and everything was looking fine and worked smoothly.
Then, when I inserted the MS Office 2013 disk into the CD drive, nothing happened!
I tried to install MS Office 2013 but to no avail.
Does anyone know how to overcome this issue?
    Thanks.

In the Configure menu item, under Virtual Machine, configure the CD/DVD to be recognized by your SuperDrive:
The only drawback is that you have to quit Parallels for the drive to be recognized by the Mac again.
I just purchased the Office 365 subscription for both Office 2011 on my Mac and Office 2013 on my Windows 7 side - sure makes life simpler, and less expensive.

  • Microsoft Office error message

    Hi,
I downloaded some bad application on my new intel 17" 2 GHz C2D machine and then my word wouldn't work at all. So I went to the application file where the 2004 office was stored and then tried excel etc. and they were all dead. So I restarted my machine and they all worked again. The only problem is every time I use Word (haven't tried the other ones yet) I get this message:
An unexpected error ocurred while trying to load the Microsoft framework library.
The message then goes away and I can copy and paste and use as normal. How do I get rid of this? Do I have to dump it all and reinstall the disk?
    Thanks,

Try to reinstall Office 2004; save your data first.

    Hello,
I too had this problem a few days ago. I did an "uninstall" but problem remained. I did a second uninstall and problem still remained. I did a third and forth and experimented with various upgrades (ex: not installing 11.3.0 and earlier 11.3.2) problem still persisted. Finally I went to FILE --->FIND, typed in FRAMEWORK and deleted the two Office Framework files. Office 2004 is working the the error message is gone. I'm not suggesting this is an "absolute" solution. But the error message has disappeared and my Office 2004 appears to still be working as I type two days later.

  • App gets runtime error 429 when deploying via SCCM

I have an application I'm trying to deploy and it works fine when manually running the app (silently) on my test machine. When deploying it from SCCM and then trying to run the program you get a message saying "Run time error 429 - activex component
    can't create object".
I can silently run the exe for the app from a command prompt. I can also do the same if I use the programs MSI file instead.
If I use the exe, msi or batch from SCCM it fails. I've tried deploying when a user is logged in or logged off.
One of the frustrating issues is I have been able to make it work on some systems, but not all. It fails more often than not. I'm wondering if it has something to do with a windows update (maybe .net framework) that isn't the same on each system.
I have already checked logs and haven't been able to find anything.
    Any ideas?

What the command-line does is up to the command-line and really has nothing to with ConfigMgr. You'll have to check with the vendor about what's going on. Error code 429 is not a standard Windows error code. You could add logging to your command-line to
maybe get more details about what it cannot successfully do (how to do that is specific to your command-line and also has nothing to do with ConfigMgr).
The only idiosyncrasy with running something in ConfigMgr is that it uses the local System account. This can have implications if the installer is expecting to add things to a normal user profile (which is generally  bad thing for installers to do but
they sometimes do it anyway). You can simulate this by using psexec with the -I and -is parameters. Given that this is an ActiveX control, which I think may be user specific, this could the source of the issue.
Another thing possibly at play is that IE is open. Since the installer is running as local System, it doesn't know this and tries to install the ActiveX control but can't because there are instances of IE open.
There's really no way to know what's failing here with additional information about what the command-line is actually doing and failing to do.

    Hello Ty Lu,
You can get the SP level of the JDI just having a look at the three SCA files that you are trying to deploy. They are generally in the format SAPBUILDT<SP LEVEL>_<SOME NUMBER>.sca
From here you can get the SP level. You can also refer to the the JDI Installation Guide which will give complete info about how the filenames of the three SCA files are composed.
    Regards
