Microsoft office on ipad

Please suggest ipad app to read and edit Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) documents in my Dropbox or Skydrive. Thanks. - dnaik1

<sigh> I saw that too - https://support.google.com/quickoffice/answer/3339144?hl=en
Yet another big company buys and subsequently ruins a perfectly good app just to drive business to their own online services.
Guess soon, I will not be using QuickOffice anymore (I don't use google drive and am not going to start to when dropbox and box have worked so well for me for years).  For now, I have not updated, but the old QOPro will only get flakier and worse as iOS moves on in development and features start to break.

  • It´s possible to put microsoft office in ipad 2

i can put microsoft office in ipad 2?

buy the app, there's a free download of the documents to go desktop. Install it and it creates a folder. That's the sync folder. put documents in it that you want sync'd with your ipad. documents that you create on your ipad will go into this folder. (you can also choose folders to sync from. theoretically you can sync your whole 'my documents' but if you're like me that's way more space than is on your device)
there are instructions how to pair the device and your computer.
as often as you want you open the documents to go app on your device, open the  desktop and sync the device and folder. It syncs over wireless. You also have the option to put documents on your device that do not sync (like if you have files or documents that you want for reference)
You can google and read about it. I've used the program on both my Touch and iPad and it works well.

I need to downl Microsoft Office or similar software to my iPad for study issues.

All of the "Office" document editing applications on the iPad have limitations.  Best try them out to see if they meet your needs.

  • Is it planned to release Microsoft Office for iPad 2nd generation?

So I was surfing and found a free Microsoft Office application, which I was able to download. So is it planned also for iPad 2nd gen?

There is no "free" Microsoft Office application, you've downloaded a pirated version. You would have to ask Microsoft if they plan to make an iOS version.

  • Help with Microsoft Office and iPad

A little background.  I have a MacBook Pro with Microsoft Office for Mac.  I also have an iPad2 and an iPhone 3gs.  I travel for work and am often needing to be able to access and edit spreadsheets and word documents.  Mostly spreadsheets.  I still need everything to be compatible with windows though because I havent yet successful talked my company into buying Macs yet.  Looking like next year.
What is the easiest way/best apps for what I need to do.  Ideally everything would sync wirelessly but I am guessing that is the most expensive way.  I do not want to invest much because we will more than likely be switching over to all Macs soon.
    Thanks in advance
    J

There are a number of apps that work with Office docs (I use Docs 2 Go) but they are all limited compared to a computer version. It depends on how complex yourmdocs (particularly the spreadsheets) are.
for syncing, I use DropBox with the premium version of Docs 2 Go.

  • What can I use as Microsoft office

What can I use that is similar to Microsoft office for iPad?

There are a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. As Simon said, Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that can be purchased separately. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go,  Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you want access to the actual Microsoft Office applications and can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps, a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
You'll find a number of other threads on the subject if you want to look for additional information and opinions.
    Regards.

  • Invalid security certificate error when connecting from office for iPad

    Hi,
I have Alfresco Community running on my NAS including the SharePoint protocol support and can access it from any desktop Microsoft Office application but when I try to "Add a Place" in any of the Microsoft Office for iPad apps I get the following
error message: "Cannot Connect to Site - The site doesn't have a valid security certificate." followed by "Cannot connect to Server - The server may be unavailable. Check your internet connection and try again".
    I have the following configuration
    - Qnap NAS with QTS 4.1.3
    - JRE 8.6.0
    - Tomcat 7.0.50
    - Alfresco 5.0.c with Share and SPP installed
    - Tomcat, Alfresco and Share configured for SSL on 8443 using a self-signed certificate
    - SPP configured for SSL on 7070
    - iPad Air 2, iOS 8.2 and latest office apps
    - CA and server certificate installed on the desktop computers and the iPad
Share and SPP can be reached on the respective ports and I get the websites as expected. And as mentioned desktop MS office applications can access Alfresco via SPP. But I cannot get it to work with the iPad office apps.
Can anybody help with this, please? I know I am not running SharePoint but I assume the problem with the iPad office app is the same?
    Thanks
    Peter

    1. I can't say if it is sequential or not, I have never seen a message like that myself when doing add-on update checks - but I have seen other messages, like the update server not using a secure HTTPS address after that became a requirement for updates. <br />
Plus, I have never used anything from Conduit - ''the founder of that company has a shady past with different internet companies puling all dorts of "stuff", IMO. And all Conduit add-ons were removed and banned from the official add-ons website a few years ago because of their "antics" and major user uproar at the time - just recently have we seen a few return''.
    2. Right-click individual addons and use ''Visit Homepage''' to see if that feature is being used as intended and where it takes you. Or use '''Find Update''' and see if that triggers that message, to discover which extensions are fro Conduit.
    3. IMO, you are better off updating each extension one at a time with '''Find Update''', as I mentioned above.

  • I to buy iPad Air , can i use Microsoft Office on it ?

Hi, i am considering to buy the new iPad Air , although it all for my work purpose , i wanted to know can i use the Microsoft Office the same way i use on my Macbook ?  please help me with the suggestions .

Microsoft haven't yet released an app version of their office programs, but there are apps that support word, excel, and powerpoint documents on an iPad.
The options include Apple's Pages app for Word documents, Numbers for Excel spreadsheets and Keynote for Powerpoint. And from third-parties apps such as Documents To Go ('premium' version) and QuickOffice Pro HD.

How do I install Microsoft Office for Mac on my iPad?

    Momojai wrote:
You cannot, as Microsoft Word is made for computers, not tablets. You have two main choices if you want to create documents:
    1. Buy Pages in the App Store, does the same job but is made by Apple and not as good.
    2. If you have Office 365, there's an Office app for iPhone, but can also run on iPad.
There are far more choices than those two.

Reason that I ask is that I'm worried that I will not be able to read or work word or excel docs that people send me.

No. Office 2011 for Mac is coded to run with OS X. In order to work on the iPad the app must be coded for iOS instead.
If you look in the iTunes App Store, you will find that there are many apps that allow you to work with Office files on an iPad.

  • How can I install or use Microsoft Office on my iPad 4?

How can I install or use Microsoft Office on my iPad 4?

You cannot. Microsoft has not made a version of Office for iOS. There are however a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go,  Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
