Microsoft Office Programs Deleted!

When trying to open a word file today I discovered that my microsoft office programs have deleted themselves. They are not in the folder anymore, however the things that accompany them (dictionary, fonts, clip art) are still in tact. This is super frustrating as i have already used the software a couple of other times and cannot just reinstall it. Does anyone know why this would happen? or how i can get the programs?

*"cannot just reinstall it. "*
Yes you can. You're allowed 3 simultaneous installations, not 3 total.
For further questions regarding Office, I suggest you post them on Microsoft's own forums for their Office Mac products, as this forum is for troubleshooting Apple Software Update for Windows, a software package for Windows designed to update Apple products that run on Windows, and completely unrelated to Microsoft Office.

I am having problems interacting with Microsoft Office programs since the last update:cannot create a pdf through the 'print' menu in exel and both Word and Exel docs sent in Mac Mail end up being received as .dat files.
Both these situations have cropped up on my MacBook Pro since the last update.
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers
    Bob

The 'Winmail.dat' problem has been extensively covered in these forums, I would search for that (a Google search works well) and unfortunately I have not seen the pdf print problem before, but assuming the software is current and functions normally (other than the pdf print problem) I have no suggestion other than the obvious (but time consuming) re-installation of Office.

  • I downloaded OSX Lion and lost access to my Microsoft office programs.  How do I get them back?

I just purchased OSX Lion and downloaded the file.  I now can not access my microsoft office programs.  This is not something I was warned about by the team in the Apple Store at all.  Is there a way to recover these programs? ( Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Do you have Office 2004 or earlier? If so, you'll need to upgrade to a more recent version. Office 2004 is a PowerPC application, and requires Rosetta to run on an Intel Mac. Rosetta isn't included in Lion, so Lion won't run PowerPC apps.
One suggestion I've seen is to put two partitions on your hard drive, with one running Snow Leopard and the other running Lion. Any PowerPC apps would be installed on the Snow Leopard partition, and Universal or Intel apps would be installed on the Lion partition.
If your version of Office is the Intel version, I don't know what to tell you. Hope this helps.

  • Hello, I cannot show my video files on microsoft office program with  macair book 11 inc notebook while using projector

I cannot show my video files on microsoft office program with  macair book 11 inc notebook while using projector

When you next have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Scroll back in the log to the time you noted above. Select any messages timestamped from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first. Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

After installing Lion the microsoft office programs (word, excel,...) do not run!  What can I do as I need them for external communication?

There are also free alternatives such as Neo Office.
You can also install the Office 2011 30 day trial if it's urgent.

  • My microsoft office programs (Home and Business 2013) all desplay error message at startup stating " non-commercial use, not licenced product". How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Whenever I start any of my microsoft programs I get an error message stating "non-commercial use, not licenced product" and I cannot do anything in the programs. I havve the Home and Business 2013 version.
My husband bought the office programs for his and my computer and so they are both registered to his name however my email is the login, I dont know if this is relevant.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Based on your description, several possibilities come to my mind.
    1. You mentioned your husband bought the Office Suite for you, did he purchase one product key or two? We need to confirm if the product key can be installed on multiple machines, if a product key can be only installed once and he installed it
on his computer first, you should purchase a new product key to activate your Office.
Since the policy differs in different areas, to confirm how many machines the product key can be installed on, let your husband ask the retailer or contact the local customer service to get the answer:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us
    2. Please confirm your Office version. Based on the message "non-commercial use", I found this kb:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937676/
But it's for Office Home and Student instead of Office Home and Business, we can perform the steps below to find the Microsoft Software License Terms:
    1. Start and Office program.
    2. On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
    3. Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..), in the window that opens, click
View the Microsift Software License Terms link.
    3. If your Office is a trial version or the product key is not for the version that you are using, consider to uninstall it first, and install the appropriate version. You can probably get the installation media from your husband.

    Hi,
At what point exactly will you get the error? Could you please provide us the complete event log?
Please first check for updates and install any required ones and then try again. It’s always a good idea to keep current with updates.
Also try to launch Outlook in safe mode, then check behavior: Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press

  • Download of Microsoft office programs

I purchased online Microsoft Office Professional and saved the download file to my desktop. It automatically saves to a disk creator program which will only let me copy it to a disk and won't let me open it. I've done the download twice, but never get the option of saving the file in any other program.  It is an .iso file.  Can anyone tell me how to save it in another program, and which program I should use to save the file to be able to open it and install the program?

Evi, an *.iso file is an image of an optical disc. It needs to be burned to a disc using a special procedure. Then you will be able to install Office from the disc.
    Windows 7 will do it.

  • Microsoft office programs always launch at start of session

I cannot prevent that all microsft office programs ( Excel, word, ppt, outlook) start ( as well as other programs; activity monitor) when ever I start my session; how can I control that ( and have a quiet session start without my screen poll-ted by 12 wondows to close)
    Tx

This could be caused and avoided by a number of options.
First, ensure your login items does not contain any of those apps. Check
 > System Preferences... Users & Groups | Login Items
If none of the apps are in there, the following are alternatives - i.e., any ONE of them should work:
    A. When you shutdown, uncheck the 'reopen windows on login' box in the Logout window
    OR
    B. Before you shutdown, ensure you manually Quit (Command-Q) all open apps.
    OR
    C. After starting up the mac, log in with the 'shift' key held down. This should give you a clean log on (note that this is NOT the same as starting in SAFE mode, which is done by holding down the shift key at power on - something you don't want to do unless you're troubleshooting).
A related tip is that you can start any App without resuming its previous window/s (last saved state) by clicking on it in the Dock with the shift key held down.

  • What is the right Microsoft office program for my iMac?

Hi all I have just bought a Microsoft Office Mac v.X for OS X on ebay for my new iMac that I have recently bought, I am not sure is this is the right product for my computer. Anyone can help?

Office for Mac 2011 is the current version for the Mac (http://store.apple.com/ca/product/HB603LL/A/microsoft-office-for-mac-home-and-st udent-2011?fnode=000104090a)
I'd be wary about buying it from places like eBay as it's pretty much only distributed digitally now and uses digital download codes that can only be registered once.
Do you have a link to the eBay listing?

  • If I upgrade to OS X Mountain Lion will my 2008 Microsoft Office programs be deleted or not? And if not will I still be able to use them?

I want to upgrade my system so that I can buy iPhoto, but I need to know whether or not my microsoft programes will be deleted. And if it is not deleted, will I still be able to run the program and open documents? I have microsoft 2008.

Office 2008 should run but Office 2011 is hughly recommended.
A backup is highly recommended before any upgrade.

  • Why are my microsoft office programs still not running on retina display?  I just bought it today so it should have all the required updates. Please help.

My microsoft programs are so pixalated that its driving me crazy.

Office is not an Apple product. You best action is to ask in the Microsoft forums:
    Office for Mac forums
Someone there may have a way to make it work, and it is ultimately MS's responsibility to make their software work on the hardware users they sell to

  • Microsoft Office programs fo iMac

I am thinking of purchasing an iMac does it have similiar programs to Office suite or do I need to purchase Office for Mac????

You can purchase Office for Mac or you can also get free alternatives such as Neo Office or Open Office. You can download both by going to Macupdate.com and doing a search for each. In addition Apple makes iWorks which includes Pages, Numbers and Keynotes which are alternatives to Word, Excel & PowerPoint. You can find information about them on Apples website and purchase them ($20 each) from the Mac App Store.
