Microsoft Outlook for Mac
I need to use Outlook for work and created an alias email account in iCloud which works perfectly. How can I compose a new email using Outlook as the client, and I need to be able to use my alias account as the sender.
It was easy to set up in iPhone and iPad, but I can't figure it out on the MacBook.
You can access an Outlook account via Mail, but other than that there is no Outlook for the Mac. MS Office's Entourage also supports access to Outlook.

Not very many Outlook users here. You'll to better asking in Microsoft's Office:Mac forums here:

Are there any known conflicts between Mountain Lion (10.8.3) and Microsoft Outlook for Mac? After installing, I can't send or receive eMails. Using a Macbook Pro.
Is this a recent problem or has it been going on for some time. If you just updated to ML, you might want to confirm that you've update to the latest MS Office / Outlook patches.

Create a "Do Not Send" List for Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011
Hello,
I've been having a problem creating a "do not send" list for Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011. Essentially, I am sending out bulk emails and when people want to unsubscribe I have no means to create a list so that no email is ever sent to them again. Because of the number of emails going out, it would simply take to long to search each excel sheet of emails I have and purge the unsubscribers.
Is there any way to create a list of emails that outlook will not send to, even if the names or in the excel sheet?
If it helps, I am using a Microsoft Word document as the basis for my form letter emails, which then pulls the email contacts (hundreds of them) from an excel sheet, which then sends them to my outbox in Outlook.
Thank you,

when using Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011. When looking up the error, Microsoft has a solution for windows users, but not for mac users. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2556352
Any ideas? Solutions? Help!As Office is not an Apple product, I strongly recommend asking in the Microsoft Office:Mac forums here:
Office for Mac
Everyone there is a Mac user AND an Office user, something you can't say about Apple's forums. You will get the fastest help there and I think you will find the contributors more than helpful. -
I have tried to make my Microsoft Office for MAC's OUTLOOK program work as the default email system. But ATT/Yahoo says its service is not compatible with the MAC version of Microsoft Outlook... Has anyone been able to make it work? I can't change my ISP right now.
You might try asking your OutLook for Mac question in the Office for Mac forums. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac?auth=1

Microsoft Office for MAC, how does the sender select a notification that an email has been opened and read in Outlook? Thanks
Since this question is about a Microsoft product, you might have more luck getting suggestions if you ask in Microsoft's own forums.

Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011 is Crashing w/ OSX 10.9.3
Hello - I have been using Outlook for MAC 2011 on my MacBook Air (OSX 10.9.3).
Suddenly today it started crashing the minute I log-in to the application. Here is the detail of the info I received from the error report:
Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0
Error Signature:
Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS
Date/Time: 2014-06-03 00:23:42 +0000
Application Name: Microsoft Outlook
Application Bundle ID: com.microsoft.Outlook
Application Signature: OPIM
Application Version: 14.4.1.140326
Crashed Module Name: CarbonCore
Crashed Module Version: 1077.17
Crashed Module Offset: 0x00069514
Blame Module Name: mbukernel
Blame Module Version: 14.4.1.140326
Blame Module Offset: 0x00008be7
Application LCID: 1033
Extra app info: Reg=en Loc=0x0409
Crashed thread: 12
Earlier versions of the above crash report said "Crashed Thread: 9" (instead of 12)....not sure if/how that makes a difference.
Can you tell from the above what this might be related to, and tell me please how I can get past this? At this point, everything in my Outlook is completely hidden from my sight (including all of
my tasks) until I can get back in again. It's pretty debilitating. :(
Thank you so much! You are far more likely to get a better/faster answer by posing your question in a forum dedicated to Office for Mac (this for is for Windows based Outlook)

Sync Microsoft outlook for Mac with Apple calendar
Hi,
I run Microsofts Office 365 for Mac on my Macbook Pro, and manage my work Calendar (Which comes via a Microsoft Exchange server) on Outlook for Mac. My personal/Family Calendar runs on the Apple Calendar and therefore doesn't interact at all with the other calendar.
I would love to be able to Sync up both the Calendars, not necessarily bi-directional, but rather to use just my Apple Calendar to show both personal and business calendar events on one calendar. (i.e. pull in any events from the Outlook calendar into the Apple Calendar).
Does anyone know how/if I can do this, and if so how?Whilst it may not be your fault I am afraid it appears that your post is on a forum which is not the best for your OS. It will save the time of the unpaid volunteers here, and may resolve your issue faster, if you could examine the list below and see if there is a more appropriate forum to which you could direct your question.

Since I started using Mountain Lion MS Outlook for Mac 2011 has become very slow, it continues to show the spinning wheel at almost everything I do. It is almost unworkable this way. Does anyone know how to solve this?
You can try rebuilding your database via the Database Utility. Make sure Outlook isn't holding onto any other databases other than yours. Also, if you're using an Exchange account with Outlook, try and keep your inbox as clean as possible. Microsoft claims that your main boxes (Inbox, Sent, Deleted, Drafts) should be kept as small as possible, and you should use a folder structure outside of these folders if you intend on saving and organizing old emails.
Is this just an Outlook issue, or are you seeing the speed problem anywhere else? -
How do I connect my online outlook account to Microsoft Outlook for Mac 2011
I have been trying to connect them, but it is telling me that my "command is not valid in this state" or my "security settings are not valid"
I am using POP and I am putting in the following:
username
password
pop.outlook.com
smtp.outlook.comIf you are using Outlook that comes with Office 2011 for Mac you should be using MS Exchange settings not trying to connect using POP
In Outlook add a new account and just input your [email protected] and the correct password for that account and let Outlook take care of all the other settings. It is a good idea to make sure all of the Office programs are updated to the newest update. -
Microsoft Outlook for Mac & iPad2?
I am considering the puchase of the iPad2 but need to be sure it will be compatible with my MAC and my Blackberry:
Can I load & use this software on the new iPad2?
Can I update appointments etc with my business Blackberry too?You can't install Outlook on the iPad. You can setup Exchange email on the iPad and sync your calendars and appointments.
You can read this ...
http://apple-ipad-tablet-help.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-to-sync-ipad-with-outlook -calendar.html
And this ...
http://www.ehow.com/how_6397345_set-microsoft-exchange-accounts-ipad.html
These may be of some help. I assume that the Blackberry will work since you are syncing across the Exchange server, but I cant say yes to that one definitively. -
Inadvertent MS Outlook for Mac Email Sends w/Magic Trackpad
When using my Magic Trackpad (connected to my MacBook Pro) with Microsoft Outlook for Mac, there's a gesture that automatically sends emails. Anyone know what that is? I don't know how to repeat it, and it inadvertently sends emails sometimes, which is frustrating. Anyone else experience this, so I can disable that gesture if possible?
Thanks for your help,

I had the same issue. After talking to a Verizon FIOS technician from thier techinical support center, he said that no changes are needed for Outlook for Mac. That means the settings should be:
Incoming server: incoming.verizon.net
Incoming port: 110
Use SSL to connect: UNCHECKED
Outgoing server: outgoing.verizon.net
Outgoing port: 25
Use SSL to connect: UNCHECKED
Hope that helps others not waste an hour searching Verizon's website and trying to navigate their massive phone tree to actually speak to a technician. -
