  • PST File Password Recovery

    Dear All,
How can I recover PST file password in Outlook 2003.
Is there any paid tool or some method to recover pst password?
    Many thanks!

You may take a look at:
    http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook/458-%E2%80%8Bpst-password-for-microsoft-outlook-2003
    Alternative resolution can be:
Step 1: Close Outlook program and create backup of PST file
Step 2: Now run SCANPST.EXE on copy of your PST and repair
SCANPST.EXE is found in these locations according to different Outlook versions:
    In MS Outlook 2002/XP: C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MAPI\ \scanpst.exe
    In MS Outlook 2000:C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MAPI\ \NT\scanpst.exe
    In MS Outlook 97/98:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Windows Messaging\scanpst.exe
Note: Do not use backup option in SCANPST.EXE as you working with a duplicate copy of PST file.
Step 3: Then open the command prompt by clicking Start >> Run
Step 4: Paste or type the file path to PST19UP and your PST name: PSTUPG19.EXE-filename.pst and press Enter.
Step 5: The command line will resemble: “C:\My Documents\pst19upg.exe”- Outlook.pst.
Step 6: A new copy of the PST file will be created, which is called “filename.psx”.
Step 7: Once you have completed, rename the original PST file.
Step 8: Now at the Command Prompt, type “pst19upg.exe- filename.psx” and press Enter
Step 9: A new password-free PST file will be created from PSX file.
Step 10: Now open your MS Outlook program and open the PST file.

  • Which conversion software can I download to mac to convert outlook .pst files to mac .mbox files?

Can anyone recommend software I can ddownload to an iMac to convert outlook .pst files stored on a memory stick to .mbox files for transfer to mac mail?  I have mail files I set up in outlook I need to transfer to my new mac, but have no internet connection on pc, so can't download anything on to it and have had to export .pst files to a usb stick.

Will I be able to get my (Mac sourced) songs and podcasts onto the IPOD from the sharing Windows computer?
No, iTunes library sharing only allows you to listen to music in the shared library.
Another question: is there any way to duplicate my actual song files to the Windows XP computer so that I don't have to turn on the Mac in order for itunes to function on the XP machine? All my song files are on the Mac.
Yes, use the network to copy the files from the Mac to the PC.

  • Iphone contacts "not available" to car phonebook after messing around with Outlook.pst file names and backups. Iphone4 connects to car though and other phones connect properly.

iphone contacts "not available" to car phonebook after messing around with Outlook.pst files, names and backups, on my ms XP 2003 laptop. I substituted a much smaller new Personal Folder -Contacts File, with a smaller list of phone numbers (4 only as a test) which successfully synced to the iPhone 4. The iPhone connects to the Skoda Octavia HandsFreeSystem OK (Bluetooth works fine), but now iPhone wont load the new Contacts as it did originally. However a family Nokia (never messed with) can connect properly. So must be the iPhone or more likely an Outlook.pst \ Contacts problem. Ideas?

After fiddling a little more, the following fixed my corrupted outlook.pst file:
    1) I made a backup
    2) In outlook under file, I exported the calendar to excel
    3) In outlook under file, I imported the calendar back to outlook
    And voila, it worked.

  • Icloud is set, is it possible to change outlook pst file?

I'm curious if I can alter my outlook pst file settings to the point to delete the default calender and replace that calander with the Icloud one?  Currently, when my outlook 2010 opens up to my outlook pst date file overview which gives me any tasks, emails and calendar activities so I konw what's all going on.  However, all my data was deleted from my outlook calendar when I imported it into my Icloud.  I like everything the way it is, however, I just need to replace that empty outlook calender with the Icloud calendar.

What you want to do is not possible.

I would be more inclined to blame Vista in general than the version of GW -
I've used the Advansys product with GW8 with no problems. GW8 has been
tested with Vista, but I have no idea if any of the conversion utilities
have. Can you just do it from another PC that isn't Vista?

A pst is a proprietary database file, so you will need something to convert it.

  • Search indexing not working in Outlook PST files

My boss recently got Office 2010 on his new laptop.  I copied his PST's from his old laptop whihc had Office 2003 on it to the new one and added them to his profile.  They are there and look to be workign fine, until you try any sort of search
    on them.
If I am looking at the eMails in the PST and I see a whole lot from
[email protected] and then in the search box I type
[email protected] the emails are all firltered away and I am told that there are no items that match the criteria.  This also happens when I try try to run an advanced search.
    So according to this post,
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/thread/b1859770-dfb5-4224-995f-be828bd21333, I disabled Indexing of outlook, then search stops working on my default location, i.e. if I search my inbox or anything in that datafile, I get
no results returned, but if I search one of the archieve PST files for say
[email protected] the search runs for ages with out retunring any results, if I stop the search and then rerun it then I get results.
It just seems a bit strange that I have to choose iether or.
Please help ASAP as my boss leave tomorrrow on a trip to Australia and I would like to get this sorted out be fore he leave.
    Regards
A user needs the admin password like nitro glycerine needs a good shake.

This seems to be an ongoing problem. The instant search feature in Outlook 2010 is not working correctly for a large number of users. I have read many, many posts here in TechNet and many more that come up with a Google search. None of the solutions provided
    are permanently solving the problem.
I have tried every potential solution I have found:
Rebuilding the index did not work
The registry key(s) PrevenIndexingOutlook, PreventIndexingEmailAttachments, did not exist (the Search Key did not exist). I tried adding both keys in 2 different suggested locations (HKCU and HKLM) Search indexing did not work with or without those keys
    added.
I have tried everything that I have found everwhere to resolve this problem. I found one solution that appeared to work a month or so ago. Unfortunately, I cannot find it again and no new emails have been added to the index since that day (09/15/2010).
I tried rebuilding the index (again). This process has removed all of the emails from the index that had been there after I applied the fix that seemed to work. I am continuing to research this problem in the hope that I will find that previous partial solution.
It would be nice to get some feedback from Microsoft to let us know if this problem is being looked into. All of the solutions provided from Microsoft on these forums have failed to correct this long term problem.
FYI: I am running Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and Office Professional Plus 2010. These were fresh installs, not upgrades. After installation the instant search feature in Outlook was working, I do not know exactly when it stopped working.

  • How do I add my Outlook PST files from my old Windows PC to my new MacBook Pro?

Sorry newbie MBP user here I did a search but couldn't find anything, although I would guess others who have migrated over from the windows world might have had this question:
Just purchased a new MBP w/Retina display and I before I wipe my current windows laptop, I want to move all of my saved PST email files over to my new MBP as well as my saved documents.
I have saved them on a USB thumb drive but dont know how to move them over to my MBP and save them in my mail file as well as my docs into?
    TIA!

    dear Gents,
i have the same issue, i do not want to use Microsoft outlook, i want to use mac mail.
i have a PST file which its size is around 18 GB, i used PST Converter PRO, but it converted the PST file to a folder contans subfolder and files, the size of these folders are 68 MB.
i tired to import this new folder to mac mail, it was giving a message that will be discplayed under folder name "Import", but unfortunately, there was nothing added.

  • 2GB limit on Outlook PST file -- does not make sense

I had run into the 2GB file size limit for PST files that were created some time ago.
I am currently running Outlook 2010 32-bit (though I do have a 64 bit OS and could re-install the 64 bit of 2010 if necessary).
When I received the 2GB file limit notification, I first tried all the suggested registry changes.  That did not help.
Based on input from my IT guru, I created a new PST file from Outlook 2010, and imported all of my old data from the old PST file.
Somehow I still have the 2GB limit.  My current workaround is to go through the sent items folder and delete larger items to keep below the 2GB limit
Yet it seems that I should not be having to do this at this point.
    Any suggestions?

Microsoft would tell you that their Outlook 2010 .SPT file size limit is 20-50 gig, and if you reach sizes of this level to break your .PST into multiples.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982577.
Personally and professionally, I have seen many many problems for users when they have .PST's in excess of 2 gig, and often result in losing mail and such items.  With respect to Robert,
he's correct that the 2010 Unicode format will support much larger files sizes, but again, you would be better off (and safer) to break your .PST down to smaller groups of them, and also enjoy a faster Outlook experience.
There also may be an organization limit to .PST file size imposed upon users by your Administration group, so you might wish to query them as well.
