Hello,
Hello. I have recently switched from using a PC with
Microsoft Outlook to an iMac. I have saved all of my
old emails in .pst files. Is there any way to import
these into Apple Mail? Thanks.
You are not going to be able to convince Apple's Mail program to open an e-mail that was saved by MS-Outlook.
They are incompatible.
But, there is a way to do this.
You'll first need to get them back into MS-Outlook (either on the original machine or another machine).
Then, once that is done, you can choose one of two methods:
1) Manual:
I copied all my PC e-mails from Outlook to my Mac using a free trial of .Mac.
http://www.mac.com/
or
http://www.apple.com/dotmac
I was able to setup Outlook to work with .Mac (Apple's free online webmail service - and more).
I then copied all my important messages to the .Mac account.
This works just like moving messages from one folder to another in Outlook.
You're .Mac account will be shown as a separate Mailbox / folder in your list of folders. Just drag e-mails from your Inbox (or other folders) into .Mac's inbox.
Then, I configured my Mac to use the same .Mac account.
With that done, I copied all the messages from the .Mac account into my main mail inbox in Apple's Mail.
This process should work the same regardless of which e-mail client you use.
The best part is that a 60-day free trial of .Mac won't cost you anything. And, the solution is fast and easy.
I have also done the opposite of this, exporting from Mail to another PC. So, you can do this both directions.
2) Automatic:
Outlook2Mac Will transfer e-mails between Microsoft Outlook and Apple's Mail.

Hope this helps.

  • Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac sync Contacts and Calendar issues

OK, so I have a Macbook Pro with OS X Mountian Lion. I have Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac installed. Asked @BlackberryHelp on Twitter how to sync my Blackberry Torch with Outlook as it seems to default to using the builtin Apple Contacts and Calendar instead of Outlook. So they sent me the link to KB19148: "How to synchronize organizer data in Microsoft Office for Mac between the BlackBerry smartphone and a Mac computer using BlackBerry Desktop Software". So I turned on the Sync Services in Outlook and it gave me the dialog box confirming that everything was synced. And it appeared to copy and sync whatever Contacts in the Apple Contacts and calendar entries in the Apple Calendar into Outlook and vice versa. Cool since that's what I wanted.
Then I tried using the Blackberry Desktop Manager to sync everything to my Blackberry Torch 9810. Everything looked like it synced until I opened my Blackberry and all my Contacts were gone. Same with my Calendar entries, except that the Calender entries were hit and miss to whatever copied over (some Calendar entries were missing and others were duplicates). Checked the Apple Contacts and all of them were gone. But when I opened Outlook, everything was there and all OK.
So am I missing something? Turning on Sync Services in Outlook should sync all my Contacts and Calendar with my Blackberry when I use Blackberry Desktop Manager, correct? So why is it still syncing with the Apple Contacts and Calendar (and why did it delete all my Apple Contacts and mess up my Apple Calendar)?
Good thing I backed everything up first so restored everything. But I have all my updated Contacts and Calendar in Outlook and I still need to sync all of that. I don't want to manually do it. So how do I fix this??

After a bit of googling I think you mean the notation "domain\username", i.e., a backslash separator but no leading backslash.
I am not familiar with that notation but apparently it is valid in some contexts.  I googled "os x "domain\username"" to confirm this notation.  Here's one of the hits that shows the notation:
OS X Lion: Guidelines for connecting to a DFS namespace via SMB
I think "DFS" is a distributed file system.  That's as much as I know about this.

  • Moving contacts from microsoft outlook to my mac. How the ****????

Does anyone know how to move my contacts in Microsoft Outlook from my pc to my mac?

You haven't mentioned which email application on the Mac you'd like to use but for starters I'll point you to The Entourage Help Page <http://entourage.mvps.org/crossplatform/winmac.html>. Most of the information applies to any Mac email client, not just Entourage.

  • Can't set up Microsoft Outlook mail on mac but was successful with iphone

Help. I was able to set up and get messages from my work's Microsoft Exchange account on my iPhone 4 but can not get it to work on my Mac. I'm using the exact same information that I did when setting up my iPhone. Any ideas? I tried both "Exchange 2007" and Exchange IMAP" but neither worked.

ok, try going here and register/login and see if you can register your email
    https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=tmobileuk
If you cannot, chances are you are not registered to the BIS network.
You would then need to call your Carrier and have them add a Blackberry data plan.
If they say you already have one, go to Options>Advanced options> host routing table> press menu> Register now.
    See if that gets it

  • How can I import an existing csv. file into Outlook on a Mac with OS10.7

Tried to import a csv. file on my Mac (OS 10.7.2) into Microsoft Outlook 2011 (for Mac) on the same computer, ended up with a useless Excel page - it opened the csv file in Excel with only a few contacts and uselessly formatted, at that!. Also, tried to save the csv file as a text file, then importing it into Word 2011 and Excel, with the same results. Anyone able to help? Would like to have the contained address/contact info look concise and neat, without duplicates or garbled/missing information.

  • MS Outlook 2011 for Mac will no longer automatically send and receive email since upgrade to OS 10.9 Mavericks.  Does anyone know of a solution?

I have been having trouble with Outlook 2011 for Mac since updating to OS 10.9 Marvericks.  I have tried updating the database and identity.  I can get email if a go to each account and try to download it.  But email will not come automatically and can I send and receive all accounts.  Does anyone have a solution?  I do not want to lose my email, contacts and information.

I am also finding that searching in Mail for emails in this account is leading to false negative results. It's astonishing that I can search for an email I know is in the Inbox list yet not find it unless I scroll down to it manually and clicking it. Then it will show up in the results if I search again. I just did "rebuild" a day ago (have to do that every few days or so to get Outlook Exchange emails restored again anyway), so I doubt that this would fix the issue, but even if it did it's ridiculous... do I really have to abandon Mail and move to Microsoft Outlook on my mac to read my emails? Mail is currently FAILING to work for those of us who have to deal with Microsoft servers... which must be a huge # of customers, Apple.

  • Convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into MS Outlook 365 for Mac

How can I convert Entourage .rge to .pst to import into Microsoft Outlook 365 for Mac? I have an exported Entourage .rge file and can no longer access the program (on an old computer where the hard drive crashed), so I can't export as MBOX or anything like that. The only options for importing to Mac Outlook 365 are .pst, .olm or Outlook 2011. I've found a lot of places that have rge to pst converters, but they are all under the assumption that it's for going from Mac to Windows, so all the converters I've found are for Windows (download as .exe files). I'm on a new MacBook Pro with Yosemite 10.10.

    Yes and no.
Outlook for Windows (or Mac) can save individual emails as .msg format, Apple Mail cannot import these but there is a utility that can convert them to the .eml format supported by Apple Mail.
    See http://45rpmsoftware.com/mailraider.php
Outlook for Windows can also export entire folders of emails as PST files, again Apple Mail cannot import these but there are utilities which can convert PST files to the mbox format supported by Apple Mail.

  • How to fix an error for Microsoft Outlook.

    HI,
I hope you can help me with this-
Everytime I open up my Microsoft Outlook with my Mac, I get a pop up window saying "Microsoft Outlook must be closed because an error occurred. Any unsaved work may be lost". I'm forced to quit the application within 10 seconds of opening up Outlook. I've updated the application to it's newest, and I'm still faceing the same problem. I've gone to my library, and dragged the plist over to desktop to reset the prfile, and wipe the bugs, and I'm still facing the pop ups.
Anything you can do to help with be much appreciated and a day saver.
